Mike Dundas: I live five minutes from this store in Southfield, and had used them once or twice before. In late June, I took in a carefully-devised template for a rectangular glass light cover of less than one square foot. It had one rectangular corner notch and two round holes. If Jerry wasn't contemptuous of either my knowledge or my little project, he certainly made me feel that he was. I left the template, waited for more than a month, and finally called. The answer was, "It's not quite done". At the end of August, I called again only to be told that they'd lost the template, and would I provide another. Jerry almost certainly lied when he told me someone had been assigned to notify me of this problem. I will NEVER use them again! If zero stars were allowed on this post, I would surely use it.
Ronda Qarana: I was referred to Reid glass by a family member. At first they were able to get to my house quickly and I appreciated that. After that was when everything went down. I never received a email and had to call 3 times and ask when I should be expecting one. They said they sent it to the wrong email address. Then I received the quote and it wasn’t the size I asked for. The gentlemen I spoke with said “I can’t come to you for another week, I’ll call you when I can” he never called me. I called 3 more times hoping to talk to head sales crew but nope, never received another call back. I decided to call another glass company. They would have had my business if they simply called me back and actually went back to my house.

Susan Landis: Took in my Grandmother's dresser mirror . They were able to date the piece after opening the frame! The mirror was resilvered and now looks WONDERFUL! The restoration was not costly and work completed in a timely manner. Had this done a while ago and now ready to have other family heirlooms repaired. I would not trust just anyone to repair, but this business does top quality work. Reccomend you check them out. I'm glad they are still in business after all these years.

Meghan Thurber: I called a few glass companies and Glass Doctor was the only one that offered to come to the house for a quote. There were some hoops to jump through with the others just to secure a quote, and that deterred me immediately. When Josh from Glass Doctor arrived, he was professional, knowledgeable, and quick. We received a competitive quote a few days later and didn’t even have to think about going ahead with the order. Three weeks later I have two gorgeous new stunning glass enclosed showers! It was all installed within about two and a half hours, and we are very happy with the result. I would highly recommend Glass Doctor!!

Christine Roncone: Called for a quote for a glass panel on the short side of our 2 sided tub. Panel was to hold a shower rod that would go to tile on opposite side. The man they sent to quote wasn't informed our needs and I was dubious of his understanding of our needs or his ability to measure for them. He said he would have a quote in a week and it would be 2-4 weeks for the panel to be installed. Never heard from him again. Meanwhile the other company I called for quote gave me a same day quote and had panel installed 6 days later.

The workers arrived at the scheduled time, they were very courteous of our home and our pets. They worked quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up after themselves and made the day as easy as possible for us. Our project manager, Tim went above and beyond to make sure things went smoothly. He kept us informed of the timeline. We had an issue with one of the windows and he immediately ordered a new one. We received the work order for the new window within minutes of speaking with him. He was kind, courteous and very professional. I would highly recommend Tim to everyone I know !

Keith K.: After making calls and leaving messages for several weeks looking for a source for a replacement glass panel for a china hutch I finally received a COVID delayed response from Detroit Glass and Mirror. Understandable right? Well, I texted over the dimensions on 17 April. On 25 April when I had no response I texted again. I forgot about the project over the summer but called again on 08 September and left a message which received no response. I called again today on 20 October and left another message, no response so far. At this point, I'm not sure I even want to get glass from these folks if they aren't competent enough to respond to a message or return a call.

He recommended adding a piece to my shower door to make it more secure.I called several places for estimates on a clear shower glass panel. Only two companies offered to come out to measure and see the space they would be working with. Howie Glass wasn't the cheapest estimate that I received, but ultimately I still chose them. I felt comfortable with this company because I felt like I was apart of the process and I liked the recommendation of making the glass more secure in the space.I was also told it would take 3 weeks for the glass to be ready and installed. However, I received a call early and everything was installed by the end of week 2! I'm very happy with how it turned out!

Jessica: Writing review on behalf of my uncle, who is not exactly computer savvy, so he asked that I share his experience for him as he is just devastated about it. He ordered a sheet of glass of sorts for his wood coffee table. After going over the specific measurements multiple times w the receptionist there, as well as cost - once item was finished and rdy to be picked up he was advised on arrival the cost of course was way higher then previously advised by receptionist, AND when it was brought home and placed on coffee table it was 13 inches off! Took it back, they apologized for mistake. No hard feelings. Except when we found out when fixed was finished that there was an additional invoice. They charged him for their mistake!? Buyer beware! This company was recommended to us, we had to find out the hard way they nickle and dime you for every penny they can squeeze.

Anna Green: I recently visited Matt's to see if anything could be done to repair a mirror, original to my 1940s Ferndale home. The friendly staff at Matt's explained my options-- to cut a new mirror to replace the old one (cheaper option) or have the original mirror re-silvered (more expensive). I was impressed and pleased that the staff spent time explaining my choices without pushing me into anything. I ultimately chose to have the mirror re-silvered and I couldn't be happier with the work. I highly recommend Matt's!

Bryant Anderson: I took my Taurus here for a windshield replacement. The price (315.61) sounded reasonable so I scheduled an install. Problem #1- I had a special "Sound Screen" windshield and before I booked I asked the lady at the front desk if I would receive the same type..she assured me I would. I was lied to and got a standard PGW windshield. Problem#2-Upon coming back to pick up my car I noticed the rear view mirror was very loose, wobbly and not properly tightened down. Problem#3- There is a strip of foam at the lower part of the windshield that was ripped in half despite being completely intact when I dropped the car off. Therefore the windshield makes all kinds of noise contacting the dash because they destroyed the foam piece. The guy with the red facial hair just kind of threw his hands up like "what do you expect me to do"? I expect a professional job, a foam piece that isn't ripped in half, and a rear view mirror that doesn't wobble. I will never go here again and if you have a nice car I don't recommend anyone else go here either. You will be sorry.

Emily Lane: Edit: shop workers think it’s ok to take customers in the back and try to intimidate them. the staff here is a joke. I took my car back today because the windshield has adhesive coming out the side and is making popping noises. The guy with the red beard in the shop pulled us in the back and asked about my bad review. He doesn’t seem to understand that customers tend to review the work they receive. Told me I should have come back before “blasting them on Google”. I could have told them about it before I left if they were actually open during their normal business hours, but there was no one to help all the shop guys were gone. If they had done it right the first time maybe they wouldn’t have bad reviews, just a thought. After talking to him for 5 minutes (his main concern was my review, not my car) he brought my car back around to the front and wouldn’t do anything to fix it.Had my car windshield replaced today, they left glue all over my dash and the screen of my center console that we’re trying to get off at home, hoping we don’t damage my car. They also don’t remain open during posted business hours. The woman at the front desk told me they usually just go home once they finished the scheduled jobs for the day. So if you work and were planning on picking up your car after you get off, good luck they won’t be there.

Michael Darichuk: Best place I’ve ever worked
Fran H: I took the mirrored doors from my medicine cabinet to Daniel's Glass to have new mirrors cut and holes put in them for the knobs. They said it would take some time because of the holes. I mentioned the edges on the old mirrors (which were rounded) The comment was he could give me smooth edges. I should have asked more questions.I will say the price was ok, but the job was not that good. After waiting 10 days I got mirrors where the back was chipped around both holes. The edges were just a straight cut that seem sharp enough to cut at the right angle.Not a very good job.

Cooper Pilot: Excellent quality glass at sensible prices. All the glass we needed was cut right then and there, and it only took a couple of minutes. All the prices were in nice whole dollar amounts which is something you don't see often anymore. When we left the building and loaded the glass into the truck, one piece shattered. Thankfully, the guy behind the counter was really understanding and was able to get us a brand new piece free of charge! Outstanding business that more people should know about.
