On top of that, they have you initial all there papers, in the paperwork is a claus slipped in which authorizes them to take money out of your bank account for charges at many time. Meaning they will go into your account, using the bank/credit/debit card information you gave for any co-pays or balances owed on your account without informing you. ANY NEW PAIENTS PLEASE READ ALL THE PAPERWORK AND DO NOT INITIAL THE FASTPAY PORTION OF THE FORM LOCATED ON THE FINANCIAL AND OFFICE POLICES FORM

They require you to keep a credit card on file - and then charge you whatever they want. I would not go here for any reason.

Matt Bologna: Referred someone to Art of Dermatology based off of my experience with the office in St Clair Shores. What a mistake that was and I will not be going back.They require a credit and debit card on file. What drs office requires this? They charged upwards of $1,100 for a 5 minute appointment. When calling the office the front desk team are extremely rude and unwilling to help. We spoke to someone in billing and they admitted it was a mistake and they would speak to their administrator, and they would reach out to us with further information. It’s been over a week and we have not received a call back and all our calls go right to voicemail. Is this how you do business?We started to look at reviews and there are multiple people with similar experiences. Beware and stay away from Art of Dermatology and their fraudulent billing practices.

Mustafa Arsiwala: Having a very difficult time resolving a billing issue. Billing number mailbox is full. I spoke to the appointment person twice to have billing call me back. Went in person to the West Bloomfield location and was told by the front desk staff that a lady, by the name of Mary will call me back.

She’s actually the reason I’m not giving ONE star.I informed the front desk staff person that I had met my out of pocket maximum for my insurance for the year, yet, I was still charged for my appointment (they attempted but it was denied because I have a card specifically for medical expenses because I HATE when offices do things like this). They then sent me an invoice.I tried to call to see what happened but no one answers the phones, ever. I called several times and left messages for the main line and the biller.I ended up having to go back to the office and instead of trying to understand what was happening, the front desk staff person was ARGUING with me. Highly inappropriate.I still haven’t heard back from the office, but they sent me an email to ask for a review. Maybe they’ll actually return my messages.I do not recommend this practice. Their paperwork says it’s the responsibility of the patient to know their insurance plan, yet, when I informed them, I was argued with instead.Go to an office that is knowledgeable about insurance plans and that respects all patients.

My mother who is older has really bad anxiety and while speaking it can be challenging. I observed Dr. Shook become very frustrated and rude while speaking with her. Dr. Shook is a great dermatologist just lacks alittle patience with some of the difficult patients who are just trying to explain their frustrations about their skin conditions.
