Curtis Larish: I wish I could go lower than 1 star! Buyer Beware! I signed up in 2018 and even though I called them every month they sold all of the equipment I had already paid for to other divers!!!! I had left it on the rack for students inbetween classes and kept in constant communication! I bought the $4,000 package and so did my wife. In 2022 we cancelled the rest of our order because after 4 years they still could not provide most of the stuff we had already paid for. My dive instructor was not competent or able to teach my class let alone complete the open water exam so I had to transfer the course to Columbus SCUBA Inc. in Ohio to take my open water test at the same quarry Scuba Centers uses and this cost me an additional $100. After multiple complaints and asking to speak to someone else you are always turned back to Paul, the worst customer service employee I have ever met. Lazy, takes no notes, has no idea what you take or what he gives you. He sold my wife used equipment and gave mine away to other people even though it was labeled. My regulator had dives logged on it from a retreat the center had taken and then they "re-boxed" it to use claiming it was new. Sorry, computers have logs and do not lie. Every time I've been to the store since 2018 they had empty shelves and make excuses. Don't buy it if you can't walk out the door with it!!! Worse business I've ever seen!

June far away wish there was way to train indoors till then piecing gear together an making payments cause course is both indoor an outdoors but weather holds off. Can u train before June if suit keeps warm diver .

DUSTY: Everytime I've been in the shop, everyone has been extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I'm active duty and only in town for a very short time, each time I'm here. They went out of their way, two seperate times, to help me out when it was totally unexpected but much appreciated! There's only 2 dive shops in Michigan that I'll go to and Scuba Centers is my number 1!

After doing some research I called Sea-Side to ask about classes and lessons and they were very friendly. I went in to sign up and ended up buying almost all my gear there. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made purchasing gear easy and I am very happy with my kit.Took the online course and just had my 2 confined dives last weekend. My instructors, Sue and her husband Jeff, were amazing and made time in and under the water both fun and educational. I could not have asked for better instructors and I can’t wait to do my open water next month. They taught me a lot and answered all questions I had. You can really tell they both care about their students and the sport.In my opinion, this is the best dive shop you can pick to start your scuba journey. Excellent prices and selection of gear, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and excellent training. I couldn’t be happier with my choice for training and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.

Katarina Ferrero: As a brand new diver with no previous experience or really any information about diving, I can say that I feel completely comfortable and secure while being in the water! So far I’ve completed my open water certification, and looking into going further. My instructor was Scuba Steve, who was extremely thorough in the classroom, confined dives, and open water dives. Although there is a lot of information at first to learn- I actually feel like I’ve learned it! That was a huge plus. Sea Side itself was very flexible with my schedule and offered a few different options. They were honest about what I needed and what I didn’t- which was really appreciated! One thing is I wish there was more communication of what the plan was once you’ve registered for the confined and open water dive weekends, as I felt a little in the dark until just before the weekend started. Nice to know, but not a deal breaker! Overall a great experience and I can’t wait to continue my certifications!

Very nice little shop and I really like the service I get here, and they also have great hours 6 days a week for those of us that work a lot. I like the way they always give my tanks a good fill 😊. Stop in and see some of the cool stuff on display that came out of the St Clair river , a great place to dive right in our back yard that I was introduced to through this shop . Full service dive shop in the shores , support your local dive shop and stop in and see them.

Linda Pletz: In October, 2022, I failed at snorkeling in Key West, FL due to rough waters and inexperience. In preparation for my upcoming trip to Hawaii and my desire to snorkel, I decided to take a snorkeling class. I found Motor City Scuba & Snorkeling and I'm SO glad I did!! My instructor, Amanda, was wonderful and gave me great tips in a local pool for 2 hours. It was well worth the time and money and helped me greatly to achieve snorkeling in Hawaii. MCS has good inventory for a small shop. charles darwin: Wonderful selection of dive gear, especially wet suits!My kids have had such a great experience getting certified and selecting all of their gear. It was well worth the drive for us. They had tried the Try Scuba class with my wife and I a year before, and absolutely loved it. So this summer decided to get certified.I was grateful for the amazing patience of the dive instructors with my kids learning all the skills to become certified. And especially the patient and knowledgeable staff for helping us in selecting their gear that they are comfortable with. The class and gear was far less expensive than I had estimated.Other notes:-They have an ON-SITE POOL...it is always warm, 82-84 degrees-Kids did the on-line video/material at home which was fun and interesting to them-- and it's FREE from their website (links right to SSI site)-My kids never at any time felt overwhelmed, or rushed. The instructor always checked to make sure that they were comfortable. We were not limited by number of pool classes or a schedule -- the instructor instead scheduled additional classes for my younger son so he was completely comfortable!!-They explained different dive sites available and allowed the kids to choose their sites to be certified... they chose two amazing sites!!-The instructor takes his time explaining, and shares so many of his experiences... this vicarious learning has been amazing for them.-It was always fun!

Steve: If they had 10 stars..Mike is a top-notch diving instructor. Intensely focused on safety and the development of his students he brings a passion to the sport that few shop owners would likely be able to muster. He's likely forgotten more than I will ever learn and goes above and beyond for all of his students.The shop, while small and crowded is jam-packed with all the diving (and marine supply) goodies you will likely ever need. I have yet to find an item I could price-match anywhere else, and most everything I have acquired at this store has been top-notch or at the very least best bang for your buck, much of it made right here in North America.Mike is a pleasure to deal with, takes his business and client satisfaction very seriously and does not disappoint. Whether you want to be on the water, or under it, this is the store for you!

Andrew Harris: Hi - My Wife and I wanted new wet-suits - we are both odd sizes so we thought we had to go totally custom - after looking over all the web-based options we opted to drive over 5 hours from Lindsay to Harrow just to work with Mike. It was worth the drive. Mike got me into an off-the-rack for a good price - Oceanic, Canadian Made in Vancouver wet suit and it is the most comfortable suit I have ever been in (7 Mil). Now about 24 dives in it. He got my wife into a full custom (5 Mil) for a good price - Oceanic - complete with zips at the ankles. (Note: Full custom - made in Canada for about the same money as an off-the-rack Henderson - Canadian $) Note: We both wanted front zip and this was provided. The suits came directly to our home by post - we are very happy with them. Mike did a very careful and methodical job on the measurements for my wife's suit and that care paid off on real deep blue dives about 360Km off the west coast of Mexico - Socorro Islands. For those of you who occasionally get a bit too warm - really - really - consider a front zip -- makes all the difference. Best to all - A & T

I had scheduled dates that I would show up for which he would lie and say we’re scheduled for a different day.He takes forever to reply to messages if at all.If it wasn’t for me repeatedly calling him and double checking dates I would have never finished my course.
