K9 Turbo Training: what do users think?
Nat Zorach: doggies 🐶 😍
Steve Wirtjes: Very nice and great with my dog. knows alot of great ideas and information .
Sarah Sprague: Great class offerings, very helpful staff, convenient location, and we’ll organized programs. My dog has benefited a lot from their courses!
Laura Robb: Dedicated staff. Perfect facility. Animal lovers. Great trainers
Chris C: Zoey and her crew of trainers are amazing! Watching them do pack walks is incredible, especially knowing that just days before some of those dogs were reactive!! Would give them 10 stars if I could! Highly recommend!
Laura Doe: Rented the space to let our dogs run around. They made everything super easy. The dogs had a blast! Definitely will go back
Mary Honeyman: My husband and I were very impressed with Kyle's knowledge and attentiveness. He answered every one of our questions and helped my dog Bailey feel more at ease in the first 20 minutes.
Andrew Carroll: Excellent dog training, great staff and they helped our pup (and us) address all his issues.
Jessica Harlan: Very friendly staff. I've seen great results with my shy little rescue dog after just one class.
lisa copeland: Excellent training and kindness
lotti dah: We have done two drop-in classes here. Both were well done and our dog got a lot out of them. Highly recommended!
Peggy Stulberg: Shoutout to Abby who has taught me so much and has helped me and my guy Ziggy work through his reactivity to people on the street. Ziggy has come so far. He rarely barks at people now. I continue to use all of the techniques Abby has taught me and I’m so proud of Ziggy each and every time he succeeds. Abby’s knowledge, patience, positive attitude, and dedication have made this possible. With each training session, we watch Ziggy grow less and less reactive. Thank you, Abby!I have a second shoutout: This is for Rachel who was our first trainer when Ziggy joined our family at three months old. I watched in amazement as Rachel got Ziggy past his fear of scary Halloween street decorations. To this day, four years later, Ziggy has not paid the slightest attention to any holiday street decorations. There are so many instances like this. She taught me so much, and got me through a particularly difficult incident with Ziggy, for which I am forever grateful. thank you, Rachel!
Kathy Miller: I took a loose leash walking class with Emily. Great class!! She personalized the class to our needs. A lot of positive feed back.I also learned some great tips that I have already used
Leah Mondro: Took my dogs Ozzy and Piper to 2 personal training sessions with Kyle. Ozzy who I thought was very hyperactive and had some bad habits, Kyle taught us that he just needed to be stimulated mentally. Ozzy has been so much better since we have been practicing positive reinforcement and giving him mentally stimulating activites. He does not bark for attention anymore and has done phenomenal at the dog park. Kyle gave us a lot of good tips and tricks to training our dogs.
Hannah Robar: I have taken two classes with K9 Turbo and loved both! I took agility with my husky and we both had so much fun learning from KJ. I can't wait till there is another agility class for her to take. The facility is brand new, clean and so fun for every dog!
Barb Tatro: We recently got a new puppy and we are already on our third series of training classes with her. We have had Emily and Sarah as our trainers (along with one night with KJ subbing in) and they have all been amazing! They are super helpful and knowledgeable and they celebrate our pup’s successes right along with us! I recommend K9 Turbo Training to everyone that I adopt puppies to through my rescue because it’s so worth it!!
Smita Rao: We have been working Abby to help out relatively new rescue dog, Piggy and it has been such an incredible experience to be able to understand ways to bond with our dog to help set her up for success. Abby has taught us techniques to help Piggy understand that people can actually be nice, and her mat training techniques also help our otherwise nervous dog calm down a little. Thank you Abby and K9TT for your help - you are awesome!
M. E: I have a high drive working dog who likes treats but is more tug/fight and ball driven. They didn't seem to know what to do with my dog and just encouraged me to keep trying to lure her with treats and to be patient and understanding. I get that is the "positive" and force free method, but it's not positive if I leave without anything learned. Not sure why toys and tug can't be used in their methods. I did a drop in agility session that was recommended when I called and my dog left learning how to....stand on a box and look bored. I picked drop in to try out the trainers without commiting a crazy amount of money as well as to skip the eval part of private lessons if I liked them.
Delaney DeAngelis: We have loved our experiencing working with K9 Turbo Training. We've been working with Jesse to help with our dog Scooter's separation anxiety and it has been going great. The virtual format is convenient and we are still able to get live feedback even if we aren't in the same room. We are already seeing great progress and I love that our "homework" is always tailored to Scooter's progress and individual needs and not a set program. When we tried training him ourselves, we never felt like we were making progress but now, we do!
William Colvin: I thought my dog was not all that bright until I took her to K9. Now my little angel is the most well-behaved girl on the block! Truly, highly recommend if you are looking for high quality training for your pet!
M: Just got started but they are knowledgeable and understanding. They are giving us the tools to help our new rescue puppy.

My Sidekick Dog Training: what do users think?
Jackie Kriza: There are no words to explain how thankful we are for Ash. I found Ash Instagram when we were in a dire situation after bringing home our baby and our dog was struggling majorly. Ash responded immediately and called me.We had done training to prepare our dog but nothing prepared us for how she reacted to the baby. Ash immediately stepped up to help us with boarding. Ash listened to us cry, heard our concerns, and took the best care of our dog while she couldn’t be with us. It was truly the hardest thing we ever went through and we have no idea what we would have done without Ash. Ash helped us navigate our options and supported us along the way. We went to Ash to train with our dog and baby every week, and Ash truly went above and beyond for us and our dog. Without Ash’s training and support I am not sure what we would have done. We now have our dog back with us, thanks to Ash. If you are looking for a trainer, Ash is extremely knowledgeable, caring, and supportive. We are forever grateful for her.
Jordan O'Leary: Ash is a life saver!! We recently rescued a wonderful pit-mix who is super sweet but had some aggression issues. Ash educated us about how aggression is fear-based and how the best ways to help our pup is to learn to understand his body language so we can best meet his needs and regulate his nervous system. And I must say the results are stellar. It's a long process to help our pup overcome his past experiences, but very worth it.I feel so much more secure and confident with all the knowledge that I learned during our training sessions and my pup's behavior is noticeably better. He continues to improve day after day as I continue to practice what I learned from Ash.If you are at all on the fence about training, please give her a try! I wish more people knew about her. Thanks to Ash, my sweet dog is happy, safe and much less anxious and I feel very well equipped to understand his needs and take care of him!
Cloee Cooper: Working with Ash was such a huge support for my pit mix, family, and I! I had never seen behaviors in my dog shift until I started working with them. I came to Ash with some pretty serious resource guarding behaviors in my dog. It happened to be at a time when I was trying to introduce my dog to a new dog and a new home. I was very nervous since my dog had bit another dog in the past, and was showing increasingly worse signs of aggression around food and resources. Ash's training techniques really worked. Through consistent positive reinforcement and counter-conditioning style training, after only a month and a half, my dog's behavior shifted. He went from getting very anxious around another dog and his food, to remaining mostly calm. And by the time we were done working with Ash, the dog I was very nervous to introduce my dog to, became my dog's new best friend. I literally let them sleep in the home together unaccompanied with absolutely no incident. It was such a noticeable shift, and totally changed me and my dog's experience. It also made me more hopeful about working on other behaviors with my dog. Ash is fun to work with, my dog fell in love with them, and they have been a huge source of support for all of us during this transition.
Tess Harris: Working with Ash has been a game changer for me and my partner after adopting our dog, Reuben! Once we brought him home, Reuben started exhibiting a number of fear-based aggressive behaviors that we were not aware of when we adopted him. Ash helped us immediately identify what triggered his behavior and how we could start to train those behaviors out with positive reinforcement, along with general tips on how to help him destress and settle down. Even after we finished our training sessions, Ash has continued to go above and beyond, helping us find the best resources for our particular dog (such as a fear-free groomer) and continuing to give advice when needed. We've seen such a huge difference in Reuben since training with Ash and are excited to see him continue to improve and trust us!
Jessica Grabbe: We learned so much from working with Ash, from the first consultation to the final email full of information and further training suggestions. Ash’s knowledge of dogs is so apparent and she gave us insights into our own reactive pup that have helped us immensely. Pickle is a work in progress but after weeks of training with Ash we feel we have the tools and insight to keep our training journey going and to understand her better than we ever have before. Ash was very thorough, helping us examine all aspects of Pickle’s daily experience to help us give her the best possible training outcome. She also helped us find a Vet that was better suited to Pickle’s disposition and would discuss behavioral medication with us. I’m so grateful to have met Ash, for the progress we’ve made and for her dedication to these sweet rescue animals.
Maureen Cooney: We rescued a “Detroit Special” who had been abused. Nellie was very loving with us but had so much anxiety around other people. We were afraid that Nellie’s anxiety would turn into aggression. With Ash’s insight, knowledge & patience we have watched Nellie shed her anxiety. Ash’s expertise is extraordinary. She doesn’t just “train” your dog. Ash worked with us as a family and we couldn’t be more grateful!
Erin Breen: We could not be more grateful for the vast improvements we've seen not only in our dogs' behavior but their quality of life since starting working with My Sidekick Dog Training. Ash focuses not only on training for desirable behaviors, but also on how your dog is feeling in situations and how to understand their boundaries to keep them comfortable and safe. One of our dogs has some genetic behavioral challenges and working with Ash has taken us from her not being able to stay below her threshold when seeing new people to her being able to have people come into our home and yard without any issue. Additionally, she has helped us get access to medical intervention when needed, and has acted as a sounding board in difficult situations we've been through. Ash is also highly involved in the rescue community, and is always raising her hand to help dogs and owners in need.
Marina Ruperd: Ash at My Sidekick Dog Training is truly amazing! Ash only uses positive reinforcement and is certified through the CCPDT which is so important to me and my pups! Ash has worked closely with all of my animals and has helped tremendously with their reactivity and fear! I highly recommend My Sidekick Dog Training for anyone looking to better the lives of their fur babies!
Marci Lebenbom: Ash is an excellent kind hearted trainer. She worked with both my dogs and helped us tremendously. Highly recommend!
Ang W: Ash is very patient and has a natural lightness toward engaging with and training dogs, as well as effectively communicating the skills to humans.Ash is creative in problem solving and offers various ways to approach a challenge or new skill. If you want to find the joy and fun in training with your dogs, and building your relationship as you learn to better communicate with them, definitely work with Ash!My dogs and I have learned so much.Highly recommend!
Sarah EBKF: Ash is a fantastic trainer. We have been working with Ash with two dogs (one a mini schnauzer and the other a collie mix, both with different challenges.) we have seen a ton of improvement so far, and I can tell that both dogs are happier and more enriched…. And most importantly, are much better “behaved.” I was skeptical about more reward-based training at first, but it’s undeniable that it’s working. :) Ash helps you understand the “why” behind everything you learn and gives you the tools you need to address your pet’s unique “issues.” We love working with Ash and are so so so thrilled with the progress we have made so far!! 😊
Benjamin VanSlyke: Working with Ash has been great! My pup Lucy is a mini schnauzer with all the sass and stubbornness you would expect. At about a year and a half old, she's full of energy, and as a COVID puppy, she didn't get quite as much socialization early on as we would have liked. When we started working with Ash, Lucy was very reactive - to people, other pets, squirrels, birds, trash blowing in the wind, you name it. It only took Ash a few sessions to see what was happening, recommend ways to reinforce non-reactive behavior, and help us get the practice down so we could work on it at home. After that, we started working on introducing Lucy to my partner's dog, who is quite a bit older and not interested in Lucy's energy. They'd had a few short meetings before - some good, some bad. Ash taught us a way to slowly introduce them that allows them to slowly adjust to being in close proximity without reacting.I would definitely recommend My Sidekick for your training!
Caroline Callaway: My family has used Ash for our two fur babies. I can easily say that we would have had to re-house one of them if it weren’t for Ash. They are so patient, kind, and flexible to meet the needs of their dog (and human) clients. We’re now equipped with skills to help both dogs be successful, and help friends in family better understand our little weirdos. We’re so grateful for Ash and the MySidekickTraining community that we’ve been a part of!
Shannon Weaver: I have a had a great experience getting training, management advice, and moral support to help me and my dog who has dog reactivity, high prey drive, and anxiety. It can be incredibly stressful and isolating realizing a newly adopted pet struggles with behavior issues and Ash was able to assess my dog, give concrete advice for safety and management in the day to day, refer us to vet behaviorists and other resources, and help extensively with training. We have done training session packages as well as some board and train. It is a slow journey and there are no quick or exciting fixes with serious behavior cases, but we have been so grateful to have such an experienced, thoughtful, and compassionate trainer.
clare pike: My Sidekick is amazing! I met with multiple trainers before Ash, and saw no results, but with Ash’s help my dog has accomplished things I never thought would be possible. This training program gave me the skills to give my dog the safest, happiest life possible!
Erika Kayuk: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueAsh excels at making her knowledge of dog behavior accessible to anyone, even new dog owners. She's calm, confident and encouraging. It was so reassuring to see our pup make progress immediately and watch her improve with each session. Highly recommended and worth the investment.
Lauren Ferguson: As a new pet owner of a 11-week old puppy, I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. After just one consultation with Ash this weekend, my husband and I both feel like we have regained control of our home. (Our puppy seems to be very happy, as well!)The thing that impressed me most about My Sidekick Dog Training was how professional and respectful Ash was to us - she was never judgmental about how we had been working with our puppy thus far, and she never made us feel like we were bad dog parents (potential judgment was something I had been concerned about when we were looking for a trainer since, like I said, I am clueless). Instead, we ended our first session feeling confident and excited to try the techniques that Ash taught us.She even followed up with us via email, putting everything we discussed during training in writing so we could go back and look at specifics if we needed to.I strongly recommend Ash for anyone looking for someone to help with their dog training.
Maria Cantisano: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueAsh was awesome. I loved her training method and patience. She helped me understand what was best to help my pup. Training is not only for the dog but also for you. I would highly recommend her 100%!
Erin Aylward: Ash is a wonderful dog trainer! She has trained our puppy, Frankie, through her board and train program and has done a wonderful job! Her communication before, during, and after the program was great. She clearly loves pups and sets them, and their owners, up to succeed. Thank you Ash!
Alyssa Krieger: Before working with Ashleigh, just walking down from the second floor of our building to take Waffles out to go to the bathroom gave me a huge amount of stress and anxiety. I was constantly terrified of him biting another person or dog. After his first session with her I could already tell he was more happy and he was less stressed than he'd been in months. It felt like I was getting my sweet boy back. After a few weeks of working with her, I no longer felt overwhelmed by the idea of taking him outside and encountering other people and dogs because she has given us both all the tools we need to be successful. It's SO exciting to see the progress he's making. I don't know what we would have done without Ashleigh!

Motor City K9 Solutions, LLC: what do users think?
Fede B.: Well, I called them and contacted them on social media about a week ago, as a perspective client. My inquiry was about training for my service dog. Since then, no one has replied. They do not cover service dog training on their website. They do advertise it on their instagram. I also inquired about Schutzhund training as they have competition pictures from IGP trials. Again, crickets to both inquiries. It seems they do not monitor their social media or phone messages. However, I did hear from K9 Safety Consultants the same day I contacted them. Regardless, we'll get it done 💯.
Alaina Lewis: I booked an appointment at 3:00pm. No one was there to answer the door or phone. I paid for a service an no one called back.
Katrina: What a great experience this has been for both franky & I. Kyiah and Steve have been great trainers who both have strong connections with every person & dog who walks in their building. Motor city k9 has a great environment for your fur babies and they always manage to put a smile on my face. I have learned some valuable lessons to teach my dogs. From techniques to body language and patience, they truly are your dogs advocates. They will teach you that no dog is a bad dog 😀
Tami Leszczynski: After just ONE session with a trainer, my 15 month old Golden Retriever went from a wild beast on a leash to walking by my side. It was hands down the best feeling I've had, to be able to walk down the streets and not worry that she's going to lunge at something. The staff is extremely caring and professional. You can see the passion that they feel about making sure you understand what is expected. I've tried two other training facilities and was frustrated with the constant need to feed her treats. This is REAL training with commands and positive rewards of praise and occasional treats. I would highly recommend this top notch training company - it's worth every dollar paid.
Corinne Forrest: I adopted my first pitbull at 11 months old who had severe dog aggression and reactivity, and was clearly neglected at her prior home. I was so scared and had no clue what I was in for. I’ve now had her 8 months, and she is the most behaved dog in the family. The dogs usually aren’t the problem, it’s the owner. Motor city trained me to be a dog owner and a good one. I still am going to training because training never ends! Motor city has great values and genuinely cares about our dogs. Steve and Kiyah have been nothing but helpful, flexible, and adaptable to me and my Lacey girl! I look forward to continuing my training with them. They love my little crazy pittie!
Justin Allen: I enrolled my dog Cash in the 2 week board and train. I visit Detroit a couple months out the year and was looking forward to having him trained professionally as this year he was old enough to enroll. Upon drop off I met with a young lady who asked me what my concerns and goals were. So, the 2 week board and train is advertised as basic on leash obedience command and modification of unwanted behavior. So after the 3weeks, they requested to keep him another week to work with him further which did inconvenience me being that It was last week in , the city. But still didn’t mind, I committed him to the process and wanted to see it through. So I returned the next week to pick him up and the young lady showed me a presentation of the commands he was taught. Being place, heel, down, and sit as advertised of course. I did request a modification of crate anxiety, human socialization, he’s a very friendly dog but he will always attempt to jump and paw people when meeting them. He still very much attempts to jump and paw when meeting people he knows and strangers, I thought this was something fairly basic for them to fix maybe I’m wrong. So that’s very frustrating to invest in your dog and not see that change. Also when I first got him he wasn’t reacting efficiently to my commands and I did reach to Steve, he eventually got back to me and explained that sometimes things don’t stick when they leave back home and that’s why they do a follow up appointment. I explained to him that I don’t live in Detroit and that a follow up is not a option for me. He did mention the possibility of a virtual follow up and sending me a e collar, but honestly I’m to frustrated. If I knew that was essential to my dogs success I would have planned for that. The standout difference in my dog is he will sit and down and place some of the time and usually won’t break until given the ok command. Which is cool but I don’t feel is enough for a 3 week time frame and 2000+ dollars. I get upset every time I think about it. I want to be able to socialize my dog with my friends and strangers without stress and that hasn’t changed. Feels like my dog is halfway trained. Maybe it works better if your local. But hate to say I have a bad experience, I wouldn’t go out my way to discredit their service but I would not recommend. Not worth it for me and my dog.
Sidney Polk: Immpicable service, professional, and results that exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend to any lover of dogs, new owner or old.
deano felix: They was nice understanding and met all of my needs as a dog owner helped me understand my dog as well as my family this was one of the best decisions I've ever made now me and my dog move as one thanks Motor city K9 you are the best and please keep doing what you do and to anyone who has any doubt it is worth every penny!!!
Jasmine Dortch: They are professional, honest, and have integrity. Kiyah is awesome with the puppy training classes. Steve and Vincent does awesome work as well. Best care and training for all types of dogs. You won't be disappointed.
Denise McClain: They did not show up for my house visit. Didnt return my call until 4days later
Brad Strong: Very knowledgeable and pleasant staff and a very good listener.
Lawrence Buckner: Hello my name is Lawrence Buckner. I would like to let everybody know that I am not only impressed with this facility's ability to handle or even rehandle another dog after being mishandled , showing the dog or dog's the attention they need and training them with respect. I also love the professional video updates and I am very happy that you I truthfullyI removed my dogs from somebody that was trying to get over me , into the hands of somebody who not only knows what they are doing but does it with a passion and always is willing to listen and shows humility in every single way. So with that being said Thank You Motor City K9 Solutions but a little more to Steve thanks bro!!!!!!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄
Mark Rowe: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueMy wife did a four week board and train with Motor City K9 Solutions for our 1 year old puppy, Teak. It was the best investment we could have made for our companion. She came home a completely different dog. She's well behaved, friendly with other dogs, playful, and a great addition to our family! Thank you!
Cortney Howell: My dog, Gunner, is a 70lb pit mix and he was starting to show some aggressive/territorial behavior. I came to Motor City K9 Solutions because I was too scared to have friends over to my house anymore.Steve met with us for a 1 on 1 so we could discuss my concerns. We ended up in his group class where Gunner and I learned all of his basic commands, walking on a leash, as well as a “place” command that comes in handy when visitors come over.We both really enjoyed attending classes and we learned a lot. Steve is very knowledgeable and does great at helping owners relate to their dogs behavior. After training, my stress level has gone down, Gunner knows what is expected of him, and I am confident having friends over again because I know I have control.I highly recommend Motor City K9 Solutions! 👍🏼
Tiara Washington: I had such a great experience with Motor City K9 Solutions, they treated my dog as one of their own and kept him safe while making sure they did what he came there for and trained him. Vincent and Steve are amazing and had my baby come back better than when he left. I can't thank them enough for their services and their professionalism through this journey, they made me feel better about leaving my baby with them and after speaking with them I knew he was in the right hands.
Alayna Kipp: Positive:Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueSo glad we found Steve to train our puppy! She improves more and more every week! i would highly recommend Steve to help you train your dog or to do board and train with him! He’s trustworthy and finds solutions to every problem i’ve brought to him!! He recommends great products to make life with a puppy as easy as possible!
Troy Bramigk: Positive:Quality,ResponsivenessSteve and Vincent are a class act! Very professional and knowledgeable in all aspects of the training you receive. I will absolutely recommend these guys to family and friends
David Duncan (Labman27): I have a large Staffordshire Terrier or most people prefer to call them pits. He is a very sweet dogs but was prone to barking and getting excited when seeing other dogs and sometimes people. He has a big bark that people and dogs both misunderstood. I have tried at least 4 other trainers before Motor City K9. Petey is a rescue and I have been part of the rescue community. So I tried several trainers that used mostly positive reinforcement only. This never got the result I needed. So when I came to Steve he he does things a little different. The 1st hurdle was use of a prong collar this is considered a no no by the quite a few in the rescue community. However this is just a tool and is not used permanently. This is better than a dog pulling a collar and choking its self of forced to walk on a leash that controls or stops them from pulling. Petey has learned to walk and behave himself and on and off leash. He now gets to go more places with me. He is now a Ambassador for the breed. Because he is calm on walks people are no longer scared of him. The last thing I want to thank Steve for is listening to me and customizing the training to both me and my dog.
Ginger: Positive:Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI am so glad I found Steve at Motor City K9. Had my dog 3 years and decided training was a good idea. My dog gets so excited in the car when he realizes where we are going. Loved our private classes and now group classes.
james Caputo: just wanted to recognize Steve and Vincent for their hard work and dedication to their dog training. They went above and beyond our expectation for conditioning our dog in order to keep her. Not only did they correct the problem, they weren’t satisfied until the problem was fully solved. These guys are also very compassionate toward K9s and we can not thank them enough for doing such a great job with our pup. Our dog is is completely different for the good and all praise to them!Sincerely,Sunshine’s family
Big Lo: These guys are great!!!!!! gave me the working Foundation. For my dog dale

Wolverine Dog Training Club: what do users think?
Daphney Winters: Taking the beginners course with my dog and we're loving it so far! Can't wait to do more!
Clare B: I do not recommend training your dog here. I attended one class and was horrified. The instructors are not certified dog trainers and have no understanding of canine body language, or learning theory. They ask you to use techniques that show quick compliance (learned helplessness) from the dog, like corrective leash-pops, but will do little to help your dog develop a genuinely calm and attentive disposition. Unfortunately, until the dog training industry is properly regulated, people like this will continue to take your money and cause behavioral problems that could take years of unlearning.
Venita Bentley: They are the same building in a bigger space. The parking lot has been improved. The club now has 2 offices, 3 rest rooms, and a kitchen.
Jeff Roberts: Best place to train your dog 🐕
nD Juss: Very unprofessional staff. We enrolled our puppy for the beginner obedience training for the summer evening classes. We watched the main trainer ridicule and embarrass multiple people in front of the entire class. We came for training, not to be yelled at and embarrassed. I will never come here again and I hope the people who were subjected to this behavior feel the same.
Michael Fried: Excellent training. Nice facility.
Jamie Billings: I've been taking my sheepadoodle here for obedience training since she was 3 months old and it's helped both of us so much! Great trainers & very informative classes! Definitely recommend!
Megan Leonatti: Unfriendly staff, poor customer service. The vibe made me and my dog both feel uncomfortable.
James McElhenie: I have enrolled my puppy for initial training classes. Both me and My Pup are learning a lot on how to be more obedient. With there help my Puppy (Storm) will know how behave properly.
Cynthia Williams: We have not started our classes yet.
Karen Irwin: Very experienced volunteer instructors, make for fun, informative, and instructional classes for almost every level.
Brian Campbell: It was fantastic great people.
Rita Schwimer: Great place for training.
ann tlachac: Experienced trainers, good people. Fun environment.
Becky Corr: We don't start classes until next month but the people are very nice there!
Bonnie Zelakiewicz: I have enrolled my puppy for initial training classes. I sat in on a class and found them to be knowledgeable and trainers that don't teach your pet to do what you want with fear, but love.
Kajon: Great training techniques and a great setup inside the building but when it came to my dog ( she' s very hyper) I don't quite think they understood or gave me proper training techniques for that specific help she needed. Note: The trainer was very rushed to get me into a class I knew my dog want ready for and when I was in class I was getting different instructions that I was originally taught. Finally I pulled her out of class and to be honest shes doing alot better. I may go back once I feel my dog is ready.
I am NOT Goldenhar: Great spot!!!
Faith Passalacqua: Very pleased with all the group training, there are always extra helpers during the classes to give additional one on one help and support.
Donna Middleditch: Great people
Christine Douglas: Great dog training center. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. My dog loves going there.

Sportsmen's Dog Training Club of Detroit, Inc.: what do users think?
Emily Chase: So far I've loved my time at Sportsmen's. The instructors are straightforward but kind - they will tell you what you're doing wrong so you can improve. Everyone has been in the professional dog world for decades and is extremely knowledgeable. I've noticed huge improvements in my dog after one class and now he's having a blast doing agility. Highly recommend for basic obedience or higher level AKC sport classes.
Barbara Murdock: I recently completed the beginner class with my three year old minilabradoodle Zivah. This was our first and only dog class that we’ve ever taken. This was all new to both Zivah and myself. Our instructor Suzanne along with Roxanne, Cindy and all the others that were there each week were absolutely fantastic!!! We had a wonderful experience and learned so much!! This is not just for puppies as Zivah is a little over three years old. Zivah exceeded in everything that she learned. And I learned so much too! She was a very nervous sweet puppy in the beginning weeks and at the end of the seven weeks she walked around with her tail high in the air. We had a wonderful class and it was a joy to be with other amazing puppy owners and puppies. We are so happy that we found Sportsmen’s Dog Training Club and can’t wait to start our next class!! We highly recommend this club to all our family and friends. Thanks again for such a great experience!!! You were all amazing and helped me so much with my very sweet and nervous three year old puppy. Dogs are never to old to learn!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! 💜🐶🐾 💜 Barb & Zivah
Abigail Bolen: Lovely establishment
Steven Jordano: Great people patient with old guy and crazy dog thanks
Zachariah Walker: Amazing trainers. Lilo is very happy with our classes, and will be coming back for Canine Good Citizen
Clarke Bonten: We took our 10 month old dog here for basic obedience and we’re very disappointed with both the trainer and the environment. There were multiple classes going on at the same time, with dogs yelping, whining and barking as well as trainers yelling. The trainers used harsh methods, and yelled at, hit, and popped the collars of dogs to get their attention. it seemed more like training through intimidation than through positive reinforcement. in addition, the trainer spent too much time talking and working with a select few dogs, leaving other dogs sitting and waiting for long periods— up to 20 minutes at a time out of an hour long class. lastly, she was disorganized, her pacing was slow, and on the final day of class she still did not even know our dog’s name. If you want a positive fun experience with your dog I would suggest going somewhere else.
Amanda Martinico: My dog and I had a scheduled assessment tonight from 7:30-8pm. We arrived early, around 7:15pm and waited for our appointment time. After about 15-20 minutes someone was kind enough to call the person we had the appointment with, turns out she is sick and someone else would be coming in her place. Ok, so we waited for that person. We waited over an hour. Nobody showed. This appointment was confirmed the day before via email. I understand things happen, people get sick, we would have had no problem rescheduling had someone reached out. What I do take issue with however, is the disregard and lack of respect for my time. We will be taking our business elsewhere.
Angela Moz: Great trainers and club for the dog enthusiasts!
Meghan Beaman: Got kicked out because my dog was scared and when the trainer touched him without warning he snapped. She said “he’s scared and doesn’t know me” and still aggravated him. Not 5 minutes before this happened another, smaller dog snapped at her with far less provocation and that dog got a muzzle, but my bigger dog got kicked out. I even asked why we couldn’t go with a muzzle and was ignored. They can say they aren’t prejudiced against pits, but the evidence speaks for itself. We already weren’t excited about some of the methods, we communicate with our dog constantly and they were telling us not to give commands he’d already learned without telling us the reasoning behind that. She literally told us to undo the training we’d already done with him. At least we got our refund in a timely manner.
Dime Abbott: Love this place! The owner is awesome.
J: Great place to train , great instructors in every class! I’m on my 3rd class, my husband is on his first class.
Ang G: We attended a puppy class and the online registration and payment was easily navigated. For the # of people and dogs there, this was well organized and efficiently ran. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. They keep the place clean. Classes are reasonably priced. Parking is tight and if you miss the turn you have to turn around as all the surrounding blocks are dead ends.
Marie Margaritis: This is the best and the oldest dog training club in Michigan! I have 2 show dogs (shih tzu) that I train here. They are the third and fourth dogs I’ve trained here. If you want to show your dog in confirmation, obedience, agility, or rally you should bring your dog here! I’ve had two dogs get their cgc title here as well.
Mary Peters: Great place to bring your dog for training; no-nonsense training for people who are serious about getting their dogs trained.Reasonable prices, and some classes are available on a walk-in basis, some with a punch card for savings. Conformation classes are walk-in, $10 per session, exact cash or check only.Facility is clean and free of dog urine odors; there is a nonslip covering on the floors.Main entrance is at the far end of the long side of the building (and parking lot).*** This is not a groomer! No grooming available. Google is misinformed on that.***
Bertram Smith: They're very supportive
Stacey Proctor: I've taken 3 classes and brought 2 different dogs to this facility for trainingGreat space, trainers truly love and care about dogs. Highly suggest the trick dog class and the puppy kindergarten. My only disappointment is that there's no time allowed for puppy socialization or playtime due to liability/insurance reasons I was told.
Alex Page: I have been to so many different dog training facilities in the southeast Michigan area and Sportsmans is definitely the best. They help you by teaching you how to train your dog and strengthen your relationship. Cathi Winkles has been my teacher for a few months now and she always brings something new to the table and is so helpful. Super glad I found this place 🙌
Mary Goff: Knowledgeable trainers. Signed up to take our new pup in November. Have been to many fun matches there.
Harry Grongstad: Went with my dog to the STAR puppy training. It was fun and they do a good job introducing dogs and handlers to the training program(s)
Jan Leverenz: Trained here for years. Great instructors.
Laura Breault: I too my dog there and they were wonderful. I was in the hospital and after I got out I had to reschedule my next class for my puppy and they worked with me to reschedule. Then I broke my wrist 4 days after getting out of the hospital and they rescheduled me again. Very nice people. I worked with Barb.
