When I called, they had immediate availabilities, whereas I would have needed to wait weeks for my small job with the other movers I had contacted. The day of, they called to ask if I'd like to take advantage of an earlier availability that had opened up, which worked out even better for me. Justin: We’ve used Two Men and a Truck before in a different state for a previous move and we were thoroughly impressed with the care and efficiency of the movers we had at the time.In our recent move however we experienced the opposite. The movers themselves were nice, but our items did not receive the care and attention they needed for the move. There were items listed in the packing sheet that were not carefully packed. When the items were unpacked, items like chairs, containers and tables, there was noticeable gashes and scratches.Along with that we experienced some gaslighting upon signing and making the final payment. The movers mentioned to us that nothing was damaged despite not carefully assessing the items to see if there was damage. Moving can be stressful in itself, so to have a negative experience pile on made it even more stressful.Despite this negative experience, our experience with the Detroit office was very positive. Office staff (David) showed a great amount of empathy in addressing our issues with the move and helped alleviate stress that we experienced during move-in day.In the future we'd love to use Two Men and a Truck if the movers were move carefully with the furniture.

Christa C: I’ve used Two Men and a Truck a few times over the past 10 years and it’s always been okay and a decent value. I used them recently and was not happy with my experience. My move was very quick. Originally we were going to have the company move a lot of boxes, but my family and I were able to get almost everything out of the house ourselves besides the large furniture. I called back and got a new estimate for less items and signed all the paperwork. I was under the impression the deposit was for the first hour of work and the travel changes etc. We paid the deposit online and it automated it at $350. I didn’t really think twice if it because our job price estimate was reduced in half, so thought the deposit was cheaper. Come moving day, the crew was nice but very very motivated to get items out as fast as possible. I think they saw the opportunity that we only have minimal furniture to move and our doors were large so nothing had to be taken apart. Within the first 5 minutes of moving I was approached by the crew that they could pretty much move everything in an hour and work really fast and my deposit would cover all my moving expenses. They said they would save me money moving so fast so I could tip them 100 to 125 each (3 people) so over 300 dollar tip, but he showed me my deposit on the screen covering everything and still being lower the that large tip than what my lowest cost estimate was. I didn’t want to do it, but I was by myself and felt intimidated by three large men asking for a larger tip at the beginning of my move, so I felt like I had to say yes as they were moving all of my personal items and knew where I lived. Eventually they finished the move very fast and when it came time to check out the system was trying to say I owed an additional $195. The head guy called and was told there was a technical glitch and my deposit should have been more. He said my deposit covers the first hour and travel costs, but they must have put the wrong amount in online. I didn’t think I should be held responsible for their technical glitch caught at the very end. I felt pressured to give the guys the tip they asked for at the beginning and they made a comment that the company doesn’t pay them enough. The company is trying to get me to pay the $195 extra, and then hopefully the movers just really need my extra money more than I do. I just feel really unsettled with how they were trying to get more tip money and constantly reminding me about time and felt taken advantage of being alone as a woman with three large movers feeling like I couldn’t say no.

stevie baka: This review is of the owner and their poor treatment of his customers after damaging my house. The movers severely damaged my freshly refinished floors. All i am asking for is $50 to refinish the four steps they damaged and the owner is refusing to answer my calls or texts. Sending me to voicemail but then he did pick up my call from another number. So this is legit him not actually giving a care about me or my stuff. This is a mistake on my part, i did not check my home for damages, only my furniture. If i had noticed the floors i would have refused to pay. The price is right for a reason. The owner is a scammer, and will be sued by me and my family of attorneys if he doesnt accept my cashapp request for the money needed to repair. ($50 is what he is being so rude about.) *The actual guys who moved were so sweet and charming, i loved working with them.

They were nice, but I would not go with them again. After the 2 hours I still had about a quarter of my stuff I had to move myself. Also I ran as hard as I could helping them, and we still couldn't move a one bedroom apartment in 2 hours.

Peggy AmruPeru: I decided to go with this company because it had good reviews but my experience with them was not good.The movers broke my dressers that are apart of my bed. The SHOVED the drawers into the wrong sides crooked so they were sticking out so I tried pulling them out to put them in correctly and the barring's feel out on the floor. I contacted them and sent pictures the next day to inform them of the problem. I didn't get a response so I then called them the following day of sending the pictures. The owner told me to contact Andy one of the guys who did the actual moving and let him know. I contacted Andy and he said he would come out to see. He never came so I contacted him again and he said he would have to google the bed (because I wasn't sure the name brand of the bed) to see what he could do.It's been almost a month and still nobody has come to see or fix the problem.I called the owner today and he was "nasty" saying that when I pulled the drawers out I BROKE THE BARRING"S so I broke the drawers.I explained to him again that the drawers were shoved in to the wrong sides crooked and that his movers broke the drawers.He than started to raise his voice and get aggressive tell me what do you want to do. I said reimburse me some money for the broke dresser. He tried tell me he would give cents on the pounds of the dresser for the repair.I told him without the drawers the bed the bed is a hazard to my young toddlers. John (sales), Kelly (coordinator), Laith and Rocky (movers) did a phenomenal job with my move. They were professional, treated my move like a priority and were easy to work with. This could have been a highly stressful situation for me as this was my first interstate move, but all of my questions and concerns were addressed throughout the process. Palmer has been around for 20 plus years and widely known as trusted servicer in the Metro Detroit area. The crew was the best I have ever had for any move! Isaac, Frazier, Danny and Blue were professional, respectful (of both me and my items), friendly and fun. It was a relief to see how well they worked together as a team and kept a positive attitude with me and each other despite having to shift hundreds of book boxes up and down stairs (not to mention a piano). Similarly, all of the office individuals I interacted with before, during and after the move were polite and helpful. A few little things came up, but with problem-solving and attention they were addressed, so nothing warrants removing any stars from this review.
