Detroit Beer Exchange: what do users think?
Glenora Harge: Ate there twice the food was horrible.
Nathaniel Franklin: Edit: updated to 1 star. Location is now event space only. How they can afford to be closed 90% of the time and only operate as an event space is beyond me. The entire novelty of the space was the stock exchange and operating as an event space destroys all of that. Who cares about how much a beer costs at a wedding or corporate event when it's covered by the company? Just another generic event space with nothing special.A really fun concept! I'd been to the one in Kalamazoo so it was great to see it in Detroit. The space seems new and I think I like it better than the space in Kzoo. The stock exchange part of the experience begins at 6pm so if you're interested in that, come by then. Food is good too but its the beer buying experience that sells this place.
Josh Wise: Only open for private events, there must be something odd going on if you can afford rent for a space that large and never be open.
David Helmer: Detroit tigers head there opening day game in Tampa Bay there*they couldn't make the food fast enough
Paul Craig: Don’t bother trying to get a beer here, it is open for private scheduled events only. I’ve heard it was great, too bad.
Brandon Scott: It is not really the beer exchange anymore. It's a nice bar and the arcade game room area is comfortable. Decent selection of canned beer.
Will Bonam: I had a great experience here during our private event. The staff was great and the drink swere amazing, couldn't ask for better service.
Dennis Gagnon-Kitchen: Never went inside sorry Google recognized that I was nearby this establishment. I just happened to be in there alley fixing a garbage truck that broke down. Looks nice from the outside though Lol
stefanie: Fantastic spot for private/corporate events.... or even just a fun place to hang with friends and family. We hosted our corporate Holiday party here and have nothing but positive feedback. Food was delicious and served on time, staff was willing to go above and beyond and the overall space was very inviting.Could not recommend enough if you are looking for an upscale private event without breaking the bank. Will definitely be back
Andrew D.: Slow, terrible service. Over 2 hours for a table, multiple people passed us up. Almost missed our entire dinner to closing time.
Tee Cakes: Cool spot for to pop in for dinner and pinball. They are great at hosting private group events as well. Surprisingly, the buffet style food is delicious, especially the sliders. Fully stocked bar upstairs and beer bar downstairs. Love the games!
Chanelle Mattison: Awesome staff and great arcade
Mike Stover: Great spot. Stop in and check it out.
Rob Greisen: Was a great place. Bartender said this was last night,b becoming an event space.
T M: Went to Detroit Beer Exchange with a friend late last night, sat at the bar for about 5-7 minutes without being greeted by bartenders who clearly seen us sit dow but we’re too busy circling the bar handling whatever business they were handling. About 10 minutes after we sat down two gentlemen came in and sat directly next to us at the bar. Finally after about 15 minutes I noticed someone who may have been the bar manager tell one of the bartenders to come over and take care of me, and my friend (since they’d seen when we came in and seen that we’d been sitting there for 10 minutes without even being acknowledged) but the bartender proceeded to take care of the two gentlemen who came in 10 minutes after we’d got there. Those two gentlemen were immediately waited on and literally had their drinks and shots in a matter of minutes of them sitting down at the bar. Meanwhile the waiter paid me and my friend no attention. The guy who appeared to be the bar manager seen this and came over to greet and wait on me and my friend, he gave us waters and a menu and said he would be back to take our orders. Another five minutes went past, we were agitated and understood exactly what was happening! When the bar manager came back to take our orders, we informed him that we would be leaving because of the unacceptably poor service and that we would never return to patronize the establishment.I will end this review by saying that me and my friend are African-American men, and the two gentlemen, who sat directly next to us were Caucasian men who were waited on expeditiously upon their arrival. The bar staff that we encountered were also Caucasian men. Do with that information what you will, but it is a fact, and it is the reality of my experience at the Detroit Beer Exchange. I will never go back. This is the reality of the indignities and subtle and overt occurrences of racism that Black folks deal with in “America” on a daily basis.
Ed Loeffelman: Excellent food, even better service. We were in town for three nights and didnt go anywhere else for dinner and drinks. We sat at the bar and were attended to by Luke who was awesome!! Oh, and be sure to check out the game room downstairs with numerous pinball machines, video games, and a foosball table. The attendant can sell you a beer from their fully stocked refrigerator cases and even spin some vinyl records on the turntable.
Stephanie McMullen: We went there for drinks and the service was good. I absolutely loved the atmosphere. The side Mac and cheese was made to perfection. I ended up getting a cider beer, and it came out nice and cold.
Caitlyn McQuinn: Cool vibe. Beer prices change with stock market which is kind of fun. Short staffed but server was nice and accommodating. Basement area (which I think is diff restaurant?) looked really fun with old school games. Will definitely be back!
Grace Su Ming: Pretty cool spot. Love the concept of stock exchange to determine beer prices. They have food too and the menu has vegetarian and vegan and gluten free options. Variety of beer options. Would return again! And once you pay you can take your drink downstairs to a mini arcade area.
Kimmy Enersen: Great place! Love the food, beer, and the staff was great!! I love how big their bar is.
Ralph Martins: Nice concept with an impressive selection of beers. The bartender, Luke, was super.

Nikki K: This is a great neighborhood corner bar. We went here once on a "haunted" bus tour. I didn't see any ghosts 👻, but we got to learn a little history on the place. If I remember correctly, it's the oldest single family owned bar in Detroit?

Mutiny Bar: what do users think?
Terence Sturges: Amazing drinks and atmosphere.
Aaron Ghee: We just went there and something very unfortunate happened there, we got two drinks, each $13 and when we got our bill, they included 20% “gratitude” tip, and I was ok, I signed the bill for $33.22 and we were fine until I saw that they charged my credit card for $42. I called my credit card company and they said I probably signed the bill for $42 or I tip them higher that 20% but none of them happens. So anyway $9 is nothing but still didn’t get it why they overcharged my account.
Mr. Nice Guy: In their own words, it's a dive Tiki bar with overpriced cocktails.
Erica Shark: Ran in for a quick drink. Rum punch reminded of Jamaica. I’ll return for sure.
Katelyn Hawkins: Such a fun cool place low-key
Brooke: This place is cute inside. The service is eh. There’s not a lot of seating so be prepared to not be able to sit somewhere. The “menu drinks” are extremely sugary and mostly filled with ice. No kidding my drink took me about 4 sips. I probably wouldn’t go back.
Michelle C.: When you step in the door, you feel like you have been transported to a tropical party! Such unique drinks, one of a kind atmosphere and the most talented bartenders.
Ralf Kohn: So good!
Louis LePage: The drinks were fun, the bartender was great, the atmosphere was wonderful.
Jordan Eagger-Jackson: Cool little vibe, only thing they were out of some popular whiskey but hey. Drinks were good no food in the late evenings though
Ruben Saavedra II: Great drinks and good vibes!
Steve Shustek: Love Mutiny. The Tiki drink spot in the D.
Renee Mercer: Love the fun vibe. Great drinks. No food served but they allow you to bring suff in or order from the pizza shop next door.
Danielle Walton: So fun!!!(& close)!!I've wanted to check it out for a long time now... cant wait to go back..
Harry Snider: Fun atmosphere. Great service. Funky decor.
Z S: Always a fun atmosphere!
Esha Sohail: Customer service was nonexistent. Bartenders took forever to even acknowledge us and we wanted to order more drinks and they never checked in, in the 1.5 hours we were there! Waited so long for our bill and eventually had to go ask for it. They had no idea where we were seated (go figure) and had to ask another bartender what we ordered. He then asked us again if we were at the table in the corner and gave me the bill. My bill was $27. He ran my card and handed back a second receipt with 20% added gratuity that I never consented to nor was it presented to me originally that way. Drinks aren't worth it. Not going back again.
Jim Siterlet: Cool bar. I bought a specialty drink and it was really gross. Service wasn’t great even though there were plenty of employees. I might go back. I would just order a beer though.
Janea Green: Customer service sucked
Thomas Greidanus: Fantastic get the grog if you like traditional. Corey is such a fantastic tender 🖤
Andrea Scherer: Delicious cocktails in an amazing atmosphere.
