madison chambers: My wife was applying for a position that had opened at this store.The owner started interviewing my wife right there on the spot for the whole store to hear.She asked about my wife experience and she replied that we own our spiritual healing business and do craft shows on the side, including spiritual items.Without any further knowledge the owner told my wife that she would not be a good fit, due to the fact that she could ‘steal her suppliers’.My wife would have been a perfect fit for her business but unfortunately her greed blinded her from making a fair decision.If the owner simply would have asked more about my wife’s experience she would have come to know that we make all of our items from recycled or ethically sourced materials, her suppliers would be useless to us.Not appropriate behaviour on the owners part and we will not be back here

The welcoming was very dry.We continued to shop due to the very long drive. We were in the store for less than 1 minute.The woman says to my sister (17) ..." in the most FORCED nice voice... Excuse me, sweetheart, but could you NOT touch things.My sister wanted to get a Third Eye for her mom who passed Christmas. But was checking the prices.Well, I'd say, if you own a STORE & you DONT want people to pick up the items and check the prices, then maybe NOT put the prices on the bottom or on the back of the items. Possibly mount it to the shelving or on the wall.I was so ready to learn about the few things I had never seen. BUT that was the last sign... I needed to leave.I didn't read the reviews wish I had before the drive.

Dominique Guin: Two stars because my first experience there was phenomenal…I truly thought I would be a forever customer. They have a wonderful selection of conjure herbs…the male energy that was helping me was very kind. Today I went in and the female energy that was assisting was rude. She did great me…but you could tell she was probably having a bad day or something. I was on the phone and she asked if I needed any assistance while I was looking around and I told her no that I knew what I wanted…she mentioned me being on the phone and how it was bothering her because if I’m going to shop I should just shop. I’m so grateful that her energy came forth in that way because I was about to spend some coins with them and what a blessing that the true energy of the shop was revealed. I do feel when you work with the public in that type of way and also dealing with magic and I’m sure she’s empathic herself just absorbing all of those low vibrational energies.Nonetheless, I will NEVER return…but I do send positive vibes to the establishment and pray that whatever energy attachment may be within that environment blocking prosperity in all areas of life is removed.

When you arrive, you need to buzzed in, which gives a feeling of safety in and of itself, but immediately upon entering, you'll notice an altar and a beautiful salt sigil to the right of the entrance, which instantly let me know that the folks that run this shop know what's up.Protection is priority number one!The vibe in the shop was clean, aware, protected, and no-nonsense. Product was organized and easy to find. There were many offerings I can't seem to find at other local metaphysical shops, like black chime candles, black jar candles, handmade gourd bowls for altar offerings, many hard to get herbs, and so much more. I loved finding that they had a large variety of bundles to burn for cleansing, apart from sage.I wanted to get one of everything!The best part for me was the connection and conversation with one of the owners. Motown Witch offers items that celebrate and honor deities primarily from African culture. I am a white woman from a Norse and Celtic background. I wanted to show respect for the difference in practices and also to inquire about working with one of the Orishas, Oshun.Everything about the interaction was helpful, enlightening, kind, and inspirational. The gentleman gave advice about how to best approach Oshun, talked about his own practice a bit, and made recommendations about altars and offerings.We discussed herbs and their usages, his handicrafts and items for sale that he had made, cultural appropriation, honor and respect of practices, and so much more. I could have stayed all day!I didn't feel energetically drained at all. To the contrary, I felt energetically nurtured. I didn't feel any "buy me" spells or anything negative at all. Just a deep and profound respect for the deities, the craft, and for us as customers and fellow members of the community.If you're a novice witch, this is a good place to learn when you're ready to uplevel. If you're looking for heart-shaped rose quartz, this might be a bit more than you're ready for. That said, you'll find the staff to be kind and willing to help and can meet you where you're at.I look forward to my next visit to Motown Witch, and I encourage you to pay them a visit and support this local Detroit treasure.

Once I got inside, the energy just felt off. When I saw the owner I got excited, but sadly I wasn’t greeted by her. No one said anything to me, or asked if I needed help looking for anything. It was awkward. Plus the crystals were very small. Alas, I ended up still spending my money there but I will not be back now that I have found other metaphysical shops that are more welcoming. Cassidy Pleiness: I got some items & crystals here for myself & one for my co-worker. The one I got for my co-worker, I forgot the name of. I live a half hour from here, so I called back up there to see if they can tell me the name of it (there isn't a large selection of crystals either, so it wouldn't be difficult to tell me, I would assume). The guy on the phone goes, "I'm not a crystal guy, so I'm not sure." Which ia totally okay, however, the owner takes the phone from him & says, "this isn't a crystal shop. You can download an app that tells you the crystals." Um, how does this shop have nothing to do with crystals? And, how do you know nothing about crystals in this type of store in which you sell them in...? Very poor customer service. I wanted to come back to get more things, but because of the tone of voice used with the rude attitude, I'll take my business elsewhere. The way I was talked to was not the way a business should ever talk to someone.

Em Claire: We weren't in the store for very long before we left because of the conversation we overheard the owner having with another customer. The owner was loudly proclaiming that another metaphysical store down the road was "terrible quality" and boasted about how great her crystals were. Her shaming another business for selling the exact same quality of crystals as her was extremely off-putting. It's ironic that she was claiming her rocks were cheaper and better quality, because they really weren't. Most of her stock was pretty overpriced and you could get the same things at the business she was shaming. It's one thing to just not like another business, it's another to blast them for things that aren't true and to be loudly yelling this at another customer.The owner was also unmasked, despite COVID being highly contagious and airborne right now. Overall, the feeling in the store was extremely uncomfortable and hostile. If you wanna support a small metaphysical business that has quality stock, prices things well, and has their entire staff wearing masks, then go see the business she was shaming, the Road Show. It's right down the street.

They do have a smallish collection of crystals, but i could find a lot of crystals that were on my list. They also have a big selection of candles and insence! Would reccomend if you're starting crystal collection.

I went back at 3:00 and the owner wasn't there but there was a man there who said he was filling in. It took him at least 15 minutes to find my package. Also the place was reeking with cigarette smoke. Very disappointed. :(

Trystan Hall: My experiences at Third Eye Magic have always been positive. All of the readers are on point to the point of scary accurate. Donna is so knowledgeable and is always willing to take time out of her day to talk to you and help with anything. The two psychics, Casper and Jessica are two of the most accurate readers I've ever encountered. They also have a no artist left behind program, that allows local artist to come in and make art. There is also a variety of really cool classes offered. My grandmother isn't even pagan, she's a Christian, and she really enjoyed the shop. That's the kind of atmosphere that's there. All is welcome. I would definitely recommend.

crystal Lubitz: The first time I step foot in to this beautiful building I had so much depression from a recent passing and loads of negative vibes attached to me I've tried to do my own thing to help but it just wasn't enough I am one who is an empathic Intuitive sensitive person I've received signs and what not but after a frustrating day and my daughter was down I said let's get subway so as we were gonna go into subway something pulled me into here before I could go into subway and I am thankful I listened to my inner self and went in there...from the moment you walk in you feel at peace and can just take a breath it's like nothing else is going on when your in there no noise tension nothing it has such a peaceful vibe that you forget you have a phone ...the wonderful and knowledgeable staff are there to answer any questions being a listening ear if you need ....my daughter and I make it a ritual to go in once a week of needed or we do two weeks I guess it just depends on the vibes from the week this store has everything you need from spices, candles trinkets and books there's something for everyone...thank you y'all for being my daughter and I place of peace ✌️Much love and light to you all
