be :}: they gave me a super hard time at the door because i didn’t know the full name of the person i bought machine girl tix from. i literally had the ticket pdfs open with the codes and everything and they wouldn’t let us in. when i finally got the person’s name, they couldn’t find it in their database or whatever so the girl at the door had to talk to her boss to get us through. we ended up missing a lot of the set, which i’m still pretty bummed about. invest in some qr code scanners or something bc your system is jank (edited back to one star bc i only felt bad about it briefly when they replied trying to shame me)

Jordan Piwowar: We had our wedding reception here in October 2022 and I can’t recommend it enough. Great location, beautiful inside area, outside patio area and beautiful architecture, plenty of parking. It was my dream venue and I’m in love with it. You can really make it into anything you want! Emily, the main contact, is very knowledgeable and was so helpful the entire way through. They also work with a lot of great vendors that they recommend to you. Joey Kelly: Just went to a show here for the first time & man it was managed poorly. Doors opened at 7pm & I got here at 7:10...didn't actually get inside the place till 8:10. Mind you, it was below 30° & windy as hell tonight. Everyone was outside freezing badly thanks to a very outdated practice of will call tickets. It slowed down the line movement tremendously as they had to look up people's names on a computer before letting them in. I was shaking the whole time & my hands changing colors from the cold. To top things off, the first outta 2 bands, begun their set at 8 even tho like 30-40% of the crowd was still in line outside. You guys need to be more thoughtful with coordinating events.
Lauren Flynn: Really bad as a concert venue. Terrible sound quality and space, it had a bad set up for ticket entrance (long line even 1.5 hours after doors) and no coat check so people just threw everything on the floor. Overall could hardly hear the band because of too much bass. Would not spend money to come to a show here again.

Danielle was truly amazing to work with. Her professionalism and knowledge as an event coordinator helped our day run SO smoothly to the point that months later I still get friends and family commenting on how great it went! We would recommend The Madison a million times over!

Tony Apperson: Went here originally on during a company outing to see hocus locus 2. Was super cool they set this up for us, it was a cool experience. It was located in a weird spot of the building though not where it shows the Madison I ended up walking into the buddys to see if they knew where to go and they weren’t to sure either. Luckily the people running the show eventually came out to lead everyone in. They served snacks and drinks as well which was pretty cool being they set this up for us for free.

Michelle Hughes: Beautiful space for any event but especially corporate or if you need to showcase your company with employees or otherwise. Very modern, but also had a great Detroit feel...that purple wall paper inside is so cool. The functionality of the space is on point for any size or level. Employees from the sound/video crew to the servers are ALL super nice, attentive, professional, and awesome!I’m a professional photographer and shot an event here, even though I wasn’t a guest of the party I was still treated as such. The views are amazing, space is large and inviting, I can’t wait until I’m back for another event! Great job Madison!

John Hart: A great modern, industrial venue for corporate parties and weddings. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food was perfectly prepared and most importantly very tasty. The company party that I attended was at night during a mild winter, parking was easy and everything was very convenient.

Charles Woolley: Family and Groom/Bride's friends assembled here for their Wedding Reception. We started in the downstairs area, for drinks and our d'oeuvres. After 7 PM, we all moved to the upstairs for dinner. The area was large enough, with extra space for family photos, etc. After the meal and speeches were completed, we moved back downstairs for drinks and dancing. Not only was the area large enough, but the wait staff was quite attentive. The view of the water, and Detroit/Canada at night was really awesome. I would recommend this area for large functions.

Nicole Gastelewicz: My cousin was married here last weekend and it was a gorgeous wedding and awesome experience. I was very impressed with the staff (Chloe was the best server) and the flow of events from ceremony, to hors d’oeuvres, to dinner and reception was seamless. The food was excellent! It was a beautiful backdrop and scenery and just an all around amazing spot for a special day.
Nicholas Evans: People always say there’s going to be some bumps on the big day, but we didn’t run into anything! Waterview Loft had amazing food and atmosphere for our wedding. The transitions were seamless and everyone had a blast!

Mari Pierce: I can't describe how great our experience was. My daughter got married here and had her reception here. Our planner (Kate) was incredible! She was there for us every step of the way! The venue is absolutely breathtaking, the view is beautiful. The food was beyond delicious. The service was on a totally different level, they were amazing (thank you Spencer)!! I am still getting phone calls from our guests complimenting the entire wedding. If you are considering this venue, do yourself a favor and book it, I promise you won't regret it!

E. B. Snodgrass: I was there for a black tie optional wedding and what a wonderful place, food and service. The wedding was on the 1st floor in an industrial looking high ceiling room with windows overlooking the river walk and the Detroit River. The reception was upstairs in a room with windows overlooking river and Canada. Plated meal that didn't miss a beat except too little dressing on the salad. Dancing was back downstairs along with the cake. I even talked them into a take home container since the food was a regular restaurant serving. Hope more friends get married here.

As a vendor we don't usually get treated like normal human beings, surprisingly, right? However, working there I felt like anyone else, a normal human and staffs were just so nice and helpful. Looking forward to work there more. :-)

Sean McCarroll: We had our wedding reception here last month and they blew it out of the park! Everything about the reception was perfect - the ambiance, the professionalism of the staff, the food/drinks, everything. The venue is so gorgeous that we only needed flowers on the tables to consider it fully decorated. I had actually ruled this venue off the list when we were first looking for a reception hall because of the price, but I am so glad my (now) wife convinced me otherwise - worth every penny. We had a total of 198 people at the venue with plenty of space to spare. I highly recommend!
Megan Murphy: We had our ceremony and reception at the Colony Club 4th floor petite ballroom and it was the night of our dreams. We worked with Jaime and Amber for the almost year leading up to our wedding, and they were so professional, friendly, organized. They kept us on track with making decisions, and also offered helpful advice/suggestions. They were very responsive, easy to get in touch with, and flexible with trying to help get the day as perfect as we envisioned. The tasing process was so much fun - you basically get served like at a restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious - we got many compliments from guests about how much they enjoyed it. The actual venue is so romantic and beautiful - the space speaks for itself. On the big day, Preston was the event manager, and he was so great. He handled any issues that came up and coordinated with our wedding planner so my husband and I could just enjoy the night - heck, he even filled in for a bartender that I believe called in sick. He was a man of many talents. I highly recommend the Colony Club for a wedding! The space and employees were great.

Chanae Brown: DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE!!I have NEVER in my life experienced unprofessionalism to this magnitude. The venue owner and her staff originally told me that Sept. 30th, 2023 was available to book a wedding ceremony only on Jan. 4th, 2023 . We confirmed TWICE that this date was available. The next day, my parents went to view the venue (as I live out of state), and was ready to put a deposit down on the venue for me. Upon arrival, the manager said that the date was actually booked a week prior. This was lie #1, as the staff was on Christmas break the week prior and no-one was in the office.There was no decency to call them before they made the trip to tell them that the date was taken. My wedding planner called the owner the next day and was told the date was actually booked the next day AFTER my parents saw the venue. The stories between the staff never matched up.To top off the lies, I had my friend inquire about the same date on Feb 2nd, 2023. She was told that the date was AVAILABLE for Sept 30th ( see screenshots below).As the only BLACK OWNED wedding venue in Detroit, I would have expected them to hold professionalism in a higher regard. As a future bride who has to deal with the stress of how costly weddings are, I would absolutely never spend my money on a company that does not value honesty and integrity.To all my other future brides, I hope you all do the same.

Alexandra Kahtava: We had our intimate wedding at this venue and absolutely loved it. The details were amazing and all of our guests were impressed. It was super convenient being able to use their bartender, for a fee, so that we didn’t need to bring anyone in. We brought in our own caterer and while there was a fee for using an outside vendor, it was seamless and the venue was accommodating. They even let us bring our dog for our special day and that was very much appreciated! The space was clean and they helped us clean up at the end of the evening as well. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our night and are so glad we had our wedding there!

Jessica Catherwood: I cannot say enough good things about J'Adore Detroit and their team.I am an event planner that hosted an event in February 2020. We were immediately drawn in by the venue. It is eclectic, warm and unique. But what sets this location aside is the experience. I worked with Lauren over a few months and she was above and beyond helpful. She was able to take care of all our needs, as well as setting us up with awesome local businesses to help make our event better than we imagined.The cost of the loft is not cheap, but it is by far worth every penny. The added value from the staff will make any event planning experience easier than you could imagine.

Definitely recommend for anyone looking to plan a team outing :)The space itself was gorgeous--we had seating for 30 and had high top tables in place for our strolling dinner. The entire staff--catering, bartenders, etc.--were beyond friendly and delightful to chat with.For food: we had agave-glazed salmon, sweet potato gnocchi, and grilled chicken as our entrees. For sides we had roasted potatoes, summer vegetables, and a delicious salad. We even had our own signature drink ( a summer mule) made "The Zupper Punch" and a mock-tail version for those who don't drink alcohol.
MaNazah Chandler: Lovely space and view! I appreciate its homey personality and location in Eastern Market. It's just confusing when first arriving because the address is to a smoothie place (Beyond Juicery + Eatery), then you have to go inside the smoothie place, go to the back towards the bathrooms, find a red door to the left, then take an elevator upstairs.Once you find your way, it's so worth it!
Alyssa Ciapala: This place is amazing. Our team has used Brooklyn Outdoor to film training videos for work and love being in the space. It's got everything any business meeting might need, TV, whiteboard, etc. As well as a fully functioning kitchen. You can move the furniture around with ease, everything is on wheels. Their staff is very accommodating and they have someone on site if you need anything, a nice touch especially if you are newer to the Detroit area.
Rebecca Pomazak: The Loft is an absolute gem of a venue! Inside you’ll find the exposed brick, vintage furnishings, panoramic views of the city and character in every nook and cranny. It’s a perfect playground for photographers and events of any kind. Looking forward to attending the Loft again soon!!
