Taylor Schwanke: We have used Cake Crumbs for all of our birthday cakes and cup cakes for the last few years and they have always been the best tasting cakes! We especially loved the Bluey and Lightning McQueen themed cakes for our son’s 2nd and 3rd birthdays. They were big hits!

The Rum Cake was NOT ok... it tasted more like sweet corn bread rather than cake. It was light colored just like corn bread as well. I had never tasted any Rum Cake like. The prices were a little steep for the size of product you are given. The cashier seemed disconnected from the people she was serving; she forgot to put my Peach Cobbler in the bag (I wasn't charged thankfully). When asking her a question, she was dry and seemed preoccupied with other things. Maybe I visited on a "miss" day, but being my first time, I was slightly disappointed after looking forward to the visit.
Monique Junkunc: I ordered two dozen cupcakes and small vegan chocolate cake for my son’s fifth birthday with a request for a Mario screen print or simple decoration on the cake only giving a few days for the order (the date snuck up on me). I was beyond impressed to see the amount of care and art that went into making this cake, and the taste was next level. It was incredible, best cake (vegan or not) I’ve ever had. Most importantly my five year old was over the moon excited to have a cool cake that he could eat and that his friends could enjoy too.I can’t say enough great things about this bakery and they great work they do!Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm not sure if the recipes have changed but the desserts are not good. My most recent purchase was a cupcake and honestly it tasted like the box mix I use at home. I really hope they go back to being great but for now I will be looking for a new bakery.

Dana: I used Terri's Cakes for my October wedding and cannot recommend them enough for their desserts and as vendors.First, the desserts. I'm not a huge cake person (sorry!) but Terri's Cakes know what they're doing and they do it WELL. The flavor options are all amazing, I actually can't pick a favorite of what we tried. The cakes are moist and the frosting isn't overly sugary and sweet.For our wedding, we ordered a 3-tiered cake that could feed all of our guests, as well as the cake jars for people to take home as a favor. Terri's cakes also offered to customize the jars for us with stickers of whatever we wanted - we chose our dog and it was such a cute, small detail that a lot of guests loved.Second, the customer service. This is a family owned business and they will treat you like family as well. The woman we did our consultations with was so helpful, fun and nice. She explained all of our options to us clearly and made sure we were happy with what we were getting.We had a number of guests with nut and gluten allergies, and we were assured their bakery takes these issues very seriously. We felt comfortable serving these products to our friends and family with dietary restrictions.As a bonus - we get a complementary dessert for our one year anniversary so we didn't have to worry about freezing part of our cake! I'm already excited to see them next year.(I will upload photos of the cake when I get them from the photographer)

I bake, so I know quality goods. JUST like there’s a fashion BAKED goods place in our area that uses boxed cake mix. I bought four different items but only two pictures are attached. I bought a vegan brownie for a coworker who I asked to give me her honest opinion…she loved the vegan brownie. She said it was delicious and moist; she’d definitely have it again. I shared a spinach, tomato, feta quiche with my sister and she loved it (I wanted it to have more feta, that’s just me). I treated myself to TWO slices of rum cake and a slice of lemon velvet cake. Baaaby, when I tell you that I was excited about my choices. I know I shouldn’t buy a whole cake or go there every week, but I have absolutely found my new bakery for when I want sweets that meet both my approval and desires. The rum cake has the perfect amount of rum; my hand is a little heavier. That lemon velvet cake…I deserved every moist morsel of the three layer cake with real frosting. Rename the place … GREAT CAKES AND BAKES…grandma’s spirit is in the kitchen.

I decided to make 2 purchases this time. The red velvet cake wasn't that good to me. What I like about management here is that they are willing to provide me with another slice of cake for any inconvenience. I do believe the bakery should start doing samples of their baked goods so customers can see if it's to their liking.

I worked with sisters Bertha and Monica to make the wedding cake of my dreams come true! They were able to help me design a beautiful cake, even though I didn't know exactly what I wanted when I came in. I told them the vision for my wedding and they did the rest, including hand painting some wood roses on the cake that were so elegant and perfectly fit the occassion. The service at Sorella's is amazing. Most importantly, the entie cake was delicious! We had three different layers- a lemon cake with rasberry filling, a chocolate cake with orea mousse, and a chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse, all with vanilla whipped icing. My wedding guests are still talking about how good the cake was 6 months after my wedding. I would recommend Sorella's to anyone.

Ursula D: My family and I have been getting cakes from Iversen's since the shop in Detroit on Lahser Rd, when there dad was alive, one of the best bakeries in MI. A few years ago my sister got her dream wedding cake from Iversen's everyone wanted to know where the cake was from.My only complaint is they no longer do the jam sandwiche cookies anymore, only at Christmas and I can't just them. Loved those cookies they would just melt in your mouth and you had to get there early because they were gone before noon.

Since then my family has ordered countless cakes from here for birthdays and other occasions. I even had them do my “wedding” cake for my small elopement wedding. Whenever I’m in the Dearborn area I can’t help but stop in to stock up on the amazing treats. Cookies, cupcakes, the AMAZING cheese rolls…the cake rolls are also amazing and perfect for small gatherings. They usually have a few flavors stocked in the case, but the raspberry/Bavarian & chocolate fudge are my faves!

Alaina Martino: We got our cake and cookies from Iversen’s for our wedding and paid to have them delivered. The day of the wedding, the bakery called my husband and asked him to pick up the cookies. Our wedding coordinator called and required delivery- when they were delivered, they were the wrong flavors and NOT what we had ordered. The fact that they called on the day of the wedding to have them picked up was absolutely ridiculous and should not have happened, especially after paying for delivery. If you have an important event, I do not recommend going here.

ebony hunt: I originally reached out to sugar iced cakes on March 13, 2021. I was inquiring about a wedding cake for August 2021 and a bridal shower cake for June 2021.I was told that they weren’t doing cake tasting in store due to covid so I ordered a cake tasting box and pick the first one up on March 19th 2021. On March 20th I emailed over all inspiration pictures for wedding and bridal shower cakes. We had a short phone consultation before that. After March 20 I never heard anything back from this company. I contacted them via the website and told them I only liked one of the flavors in the cake tasting box could I please have another box with different flavors in it. I had to purchase the second box for another 35 dollars. At this point I have spent $70 on cake tasting boxes.April 20 I picked up my second cake tasting box! April 28, 2021 sugar ice cakes emailed me to set up a consultation which we already had via phone. They also want wanted me to send inspiration photos which I already did on March 20th. She emailed me like she never spoken to me before like this was my first time inquiring about a cake when it wasn’t. I reminded her via email that we already had a consultation and she already has my photos but I sent them again just to be on the safe side! I have been emailing and calling them since May 7 to make a deposit and or pay my cakes off in full and no one has yet to call me back or email me back. My wedding is in 11 weeks! Bridal shower is in 4 weeks!I just reached out to “for the love of sugar” bakery in Detroit and I’m hoping they can help me! Please work on your communication with your customers even if you’re busy and can’t fill every order you receive that’s OK but you have to communicate! it’s unprofessional to leave people hanging in the dust.

Taliy Sky: Very unique interior with lots of chandelier and light. It’s bright, music was relaxing middle eastern pop folk. We took coffee and a cheesecake. Coffee could be warmer, even though we asked for “extra hot”. But service was friendly and nice.
H H: The vegan and gluten free cake was really good! It was a gift to me from someone, so I didn’t get to see what all they offered.

Rebecca S: I don’t know how this place isn’t a solid 5 stars, but it should be. I don’t usually love bakery cake, this is the only bakery I’ve every been to that I ate alllll the frosting. The buttercream tastes homemade, and is the perfect cake/frosting ratio. Anyone calling this cake dry must not know that cake made with butter with be firm & seem dry when chilled; you need to eat at room temperature. They even offer to bring it up to room temp when you order, and it was very soft and moist. The sweetness is perfect, not overwhelmingly sugary, but perfectly sweet. I had the birthday cake cake, which was delicious, and we got a cookie butter cinnamon roll to go and ate it a day & a half later, and it was still fresh and AMAZING. I really thought it would be way too rich and was thinking we should have stuck with a plain cinnamon roll, but again, perfect. No dry outside without enough frosting, every bite was the perfect ratio of frosting to cinnamon to cookie butter. It’s a good thing I don’t live nearby or I’d go broke and gain 50 pounds in a month. Came back the next day for coffee (iced caramel brûlée latte), and even though I’m not a huge coffee person, I could taste the quality. I’m regretting not getting any cookies or brownies to try those, too. I’ll definitely be back, may even make a special trip. If you’re looking to try a new bakery, you need to go here, you will not regret it.

zana snell: I ordered my cake for my birthday with them and I got two flavors triple berry and strawberry short cake. I got my kids to help sample just in case I didn’t like the flavors. I never had anything from them before my kids LOVED them all! I saw some reviews on how some people stated it was dry but I was asked if I would like my cake warmed up before even getting the cake as you could tell they keep the cakes cooled to keep them fresh. The texture was moist and you could tell before eating the slices! Thank you guys for the mystery shopping/review experience! The customer service was great! My son even loved it he stayed the cashier was very nice! I can’t wait to get my birthday cake when the time comes!

Sophia: This place is amazing! I come here at least once a week. The cookies are always extremely fresh, the macaroons are amazing, the cake variety is perfect and the cinnamon rolls are amazing! They offer to warm them up in the store for you as well. The workers are always nice and welcome as well as answer any questions there is. The cookies are overall my favorite. The parking is usually really easy to find and the walk is always close. They have a good size indoor and outdoor seating accommodating for large or small parties. They also have an amazing gluten free pastry section.

The Butter Cookie Cinnamon roll fulfilled my sweet tooth for the next year. I would 10/10 recommend if you want any sweet treat in southeast Michigan, come here. You need no other bakery.

And, while I don't love macarons and didn't try theirs, my kids rave about them. Can't say enough!

I fully expected no one could do much for me ordering THE DAY BEFORE I needed it. But on a whim, I tried Sweet 220. I had never ordered from them before but the reviews were good so I gave them a try. I was first so surprised they were able to do a custom cake for me as well as a dozen cupcakes to match with such short notice! The lady I spoke to was so sweet and had no problem helping me out and for that I was soooo thankful! I gave her the color scheme and hoped for the best. My husband picked up the cake/cupcakes and I didn’t actually see the cake until I put it on the cake table for the party and I could not have been more impressed and happy! It was gorgeous! And the best part was the taste! It was absolutely delicious!! Everyone at the party loved it! Lastly, the cost was so affordable!! I have recommended this bakery to everyone and will always use Sweet 220 for all my parties! Thank you so much Sweet 220! You made me and a very special 9 yo girl very happy!

The owner presented the cake to me and gave instruct on how to handle and store. I can't wait to have another celebration because this is my new go to place.

Nicole Patrice: I called to find out if there would be a large variety of cupcakes close to their closing, as I needed to stop there after work to get cupcakes for a coworker leaving the following day. They told me that they always keep enough because they know people work until four and five. First, thank you for just that!! I got there around 5:30 not too far from their closing time and got a dozen cupcakes. I have been here before and ordered cakes so I know everything here is absolutely delicious. The next day I take them in for my coworkers and all of them first were amazed with their appearance as they look delicious and very sweet. Every single one of them couldn’t believe how delicious these cupcakes were and they were the perfect sweetness.!! Everyone said with cupcakes normally like that they could normally only eat a little bit because they’re so so sweet but these were so perfect that they could eat the whole Cupcake. If you need a custom cake or just want to stop in for a delicious cupcake, stop here and I promise you won’t regret it. On top of delicious treats you will get amazing customer service.
