U of D Jesuit High School and Academy: what do users think?
Mark Blum
Mark Blum: I've been blessed in business and in life as a DIRECT RESULT of the lessons I learned from the compassionate educators at "The High".Their dedication toward mentoring any student willing to learn is unsurpassed in ANY secondary school in the city. An average student, I was exposed to committed people who demonstrated how to survive slings and arrows in life's path. Each of the grey hairs on my head came from a life experience, some without scars. May God bless each and everyone of them. AMDGI graduated in 1968.
Frank Marra
Frank Marra: Academics, Ethics, Athletics. Men for Others.
William Gilmore
William Gilmore: Still the best in the city or suburbs. Men for Others makes REAL MEN! Best experience of my years of education. Go CUBS! Class of 1962.
Patty Sheridan
Patty Sheridan: Both my husband and my son attended and graduated form UDJ. Even separated by 30 years both loved their experience at the High and both give it 5 stars. As the wife and mother of a UDJ graduate I couldn’t agree more! Send your son here!
Darryl Foster
Darryl Foster: I've worked here for seven years, and loved every minute of it!!!
Brian W
Brian W: Class of 1992.What a wonderful school. I learned so very much.I won't live in Detroit again, but if I did, I would send my own children there.
R.B. Palmer
R.B. Palmer: Impeccable
aaronsfury
aaronsfury: A great school, going through big changes for the better :)
Dan Hancock
Dan Hancock: I can't speak to the academics as I was visiting for a sporting event. What I can tell you is that the facilities were very nice from what I could see.
Matthew Banks
Matthew Banks: Almost 15 years later and choosing U of D to attend is still one of the best decisions that I ever made. The academics are on par with any school one can find if not superior and more challenging. The most important lesson was how to be a positive force in people's lives and in every facet of life in which we encounter. The dedication of the teachers and staff to provide both the best education possible and the invaluable guidance made me feel truly blessed to be surrounded by that much support. May The High continue on for another 100 years.
Scott Roman
Scott Roman: A truly life changing experience with incredible staff members. There is a strong sense of brotherhood and community among the students. Greatest choice I've ever made.
Mark Proulx
Mark Proulx: I graduated in 1971. I use what I learned there every day.
Kirk Dedenbach
Kirk Dedenbach: U of D Jesuit is an outstanding school, and does a wonderful job of not just educating young men, but also of teaching them to be "men for others". The staff all believe deeply in the mission of the school, and it comes through in what and how they teach and interact with the students. The facilities are very good, and will get better in the fall of 2016, when the new science and technology wing opens. Something else that has always impressed me is the level of alumni support and commitment - there are numerous families who have graduated their fourth generation from UDJ. The only downside is the location, which isn't in the best neighborhood, but like most of the city, it is on the upswing.
Timothy Deters
Timothy Deters: True men for others
Robert Rayes
Robert Rayes: Wonderful high school experience - prepared me for an easy time in Ann Arbor at UM.

Tyler Atchison
Tyler Atchison: I've had some of my fondest memories with the many friends I made over the years. The staff and faculty are amazing and there is never a dull moment in the classroom. If you are a parent thinking of enrolling your child into Monteith i'd say go ahead because they will have a grand time here and make lifelong friends.
Octavia Dean
Octavia Dean: _This place looks like the white house_I'm 10 and I love Monteith! So much kindness is spreaded here. All we talk about is kindness matters and they dont judge on other people religion!! We are treated equally autism or not!!
Andy Marter
Andy Marter: Monteith has a great program for autistic children with lots of one on one time.
Melissa Russeau
Melissa Russeau: I have a beautifully amazing Autistic child that went to this school. As all parents we wanted to find a school that has great ratings and would give our child the best education possible. When we moved back from out of the state we search everywhere to find a school system that would be good for our child. The rating for this school system looked great, however we had no idea the lengths the staff at the school would go to make sure our child had the best chance possible to learn the way only she does. The staff is amazing with teaching the children about how everyone learns different and to be helpful not judgmental. With the permission of the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) children's parents they will even help teach the students in thier class what specific things they can do to help the ASD child in the class and when they just might want to be left alone. They teach the children about Autism and let them know about the meltdowns and other little things that make them a little different, but are amazing at making sure they understand how they are just like them too. They teach the children as best they can to include everyone, even at play.I had the pleasure of volunteering on the play ground and at lunch for a while. I could not believe how caring and sweet most students were to one another. There is always going to be some issues, but the staff was great about helping redirect and work to make sure the little ones understand why they should not do something. The school works to help Autistic children be in classes with children their own age as much as the Autistic child can take. They work with each child strengths and even have patients to help them with their weaknesses.I really could not speak higher of the ASD teachers than I do already. They have really worked over and above anything I could have expected from anyone. They always kept in contact with us and ask us what our child likes to use their interested to teach the way they learn. They have even been helpful in helping us help our child with suggestions on problems they are having. They do this without judging us in anyway and understand how hard it can be some days. The main stream teachers, special class teachers and other staff have been amazing and understanding too. I have witness this many of times not just with my child, but many others. If you are looking for a great school this one is! I can speak pretty highly of Mason Elementary as well!I could not have dreamed of better people to teach my child. Thank you! :-)
Mark Buckman (bAdmArk)
Mark Buckman (bAdmArk): We are recent out of state transplants who have discovered the gem that is Monteith! The school is in a classic building, the classrooms are large, the playground is grand, but beyond that, the staff at this school is amazing. They truly care for your children as if they were your own. Great kids and families attend this wonderful school. This is the school we always wanted for our children!
Cyril Wolbert
Cyril Wolbert: Sanchin-Ryu class tonight!

There are plenty of clubs to go into, like Video Game Club, Japanese Club, Korean Culture Club, and other serious groups. And despite what everyone thinks JROTC is not very hard and isn't all about marches. Everything depends on your own attitude, time management, and of course the right teacher.

Cass Tech did have a few ups and downs along the way but they had handle it like a pro and now its advance, have more opportunities and education there is great. I'm in my sophomore year here and I'm really happy that I made it so far and cannot wait to graduate. In my opinion the people here are very sweet and the teachers want you to succeed no matter what. I'm very happy that I made the right decision to come here.
WolfGang Gold
WolfGang Gold: The school is great, the teachers are great and the staff is great. The clubs are great and they're a LOT of clubs to join. I am in 4 different clubs like, Japanese club, VGC, Anime club and graphic novel club. My favorite is VGC because it is a club ALL about gaming. You can bring your consoles and play them with others. Cass is also around many food and activity places also the Detroit Main Library which is a phenomenal place to visit. Overall Cass is a great school. Cass tech 2nd to none!

stephen leonhard
stephen leonhard: I graduated from Cass Tech after summer school in August 1943 and went directly to the Army. After basic training in northern Illinois. I was interviewed by a soon- to- be- Brigadier General who was setting up a Field Hospital. He knew of Cass Tech and said I would make a good x-ray tehcnician and sent me off to school in Springfield, Mo. There for six days a week eight hours a day we studied each bone in the human anatomy down to the smallest detail as well as the chemistry and physics of the x-ray process. Exams were a weekly affair and those who didn't pass were sent to a Replacement Depot in New Jersey for reassignment somewhere in Europe. What a great incentive to study hard! Class Tech had set the standard for hard study so this was not difficult
kahuna unno
kahuna unno: This school talks big but it is so annoying . What school gives incoming freshmen so much summer homework. Most teachers also don't give a thought about the students education or grade. It's just really annoying. Second to Access and Frontier!

They make it very hard for the parents and/or the students to keep up with their grades because the Portal is NEVER updated. Sylvan Learning of Windsor: what do users think?
praveen kumar
praveen kumar: Sylvan Learning is a great place to learn. The staff here is extremely professional and maintains excellent communication with parents. I am more than fully satisfied with the value I get out of the money spent there. I have seen my kid improve in school ever since I put them in Sylvan learning. I highly recommend this center to parents.
Vanessa Parent
Vanessa Parent: We started Sylvan almost a year ago. My child was dealing with great struggles with the basics of reading and writing due to covid and online learning. With Sylvan being involved in my child’s education we have seen great improvements. Sylvan created my child’s own curriculum in order to get us where we are today. C’s and D’s are becoming B’s and A’s and the confidence level has greatly improved, although we work diligently to keep those grades going Sylvan is teaching my child that it is possible. With a little extra help and a little extra effort it can take you on your own journey.Thank you Sylvan for bringing my child’s confidence and education to a level that’s now understood.

Rachel “Rachel Here”: Beyond thankful for Sylvan Windsor. My son has made incredible gains under the tailored program and excellent team. I only wish I found Sylvan sooner!
Leen Abu Rashed
Leen Abu Rashed: This program has been a great help, definitely a step in the right direction to help my daughter catch up with her peers and close the learning gap that online learning has created.. the teacher are extremely friendly, very professional ,patient and supportive, totally recommend this program.
Sarah A.B.
Sarah A.B.: Sylvan learning’s initial assesment was spot on in identifying my child’s learning gaps in math and literacy. I signed her up for 1:1 tutoring in both areas.Sylvan Learning provided a very comfortable and encouraging space for learning. My daughter’s tutor was wonderful. She also enjoyed how the program was delivered on a tablet as it felt less daunting. Since joining, she’s more motivated to write and feels less overwhelmed with her math learning, namely multiplication. The Sylvan “store” was a great motivator as she looked forward to using the tokens she earned. My only constructive feedback would be for Sylvan Learning to provide its franchises with some take home materials or a workbook for students to share/review the work being done during sessions. 1:1 tutoring is an investment and a supplementary workbook is not a big ask. However, there was thorough insight provided via monthly reports on student progress and the content that was covered. That said, the Sylvan Learning location in Windsor was great. Giovanna and her team were very responsive. Overall, My daughter and I are happy to have signed her up and wish we would’ve started sooner.
Jihad Atallah
Jihad Atallah: My son has had a great experience at Sylvan. Giovanna and her staff are kind, caring, and very professional. We have seen a lot of improvements over the last few years and are very happy with and grateful for their help!
Diletta Bello
Diletta Bello: My son started at Sylvan in the summer of 2022, and I find that he is making steady progress. It seems like a very organized centre of learning. And my son likes the reward system they have in place. We will continue to attend.
Antoinette Duronio
Antoinette Duronio: My son was able to get his first A in literacy! Thank you to Ms. Giovanna and the team.
Nandini Venkatesh
Nandini Venkatesh: It has been a wonderful learning experience for my daughter in the last few months. She looks forward for the classes and has shown progress in all aspects of her writing skills which has shown improvement in her grades as well as confidence. Attention to her individual needs and feedback has been great by the staff. Thank you.
Olawunmi
Olawunmi: I have seen notable improvements in my children's education since they started attending Sylvan learning , their reading has really picked up and they are always eager to go which says a lot about their experience there too. Also, it is the most affordable tutoring centre around. I definitely recommend these tutors! 👌
Harmanpreet Dhaliwal
Harmanpreet Dhaliwal: Sylvan Windsor have proven to be a morale booster for my son who excelled in mathematics after successfully completing sylvan math program for last two years. Very professional services provided by them.
Jeff Nadalin
Jeff Nadalin: Our two girls love going to Sylvan! Their grades have already improved with the help they've received in math. The program is specifically tailored to the needs of the student and there is constant communication from the staff on the progress made.
parisa katibeh
parisa katibeh: It's been only 2 months since my son has started taking Sylvan reading classes and he is already much more interested in reading books and even writing. Giovanna and her staff are very caring and professional, and this has made this place a center that you can trust for your children's future.
Scott Jeffery
Scott Jeffery: Excellent service with qualified staff. Continuously accommodating to scheduling. Relatable learning plan which translated to success in class.

Pauline Gilmore
Pauline Gilmore: Good
Monica Overton
Monica Overton: DSA is a great school for young scholars. The Principle (Dr. Reynolds) is great at accomadating your specific situation. Whatever that may be, she will do what it takes to assure your child has what they need to succeed here. They focus on majors (art, broadcasting, singing, etc.) You must complete an audition and hold a certain GPA to be excepted into the school; and the kids must maintain that GPA to stay. High expectations. If you have a young talented person, who earns good grades, this is the school for them. The staff is always helpful and the lunch room is beautiful. Our experience at DSA is great so far, my daughter could not have chosen a better school. She's in her last year and although she already has enough credits to graduate, DSA allows their students to stay and keep adding to those credits. Which is great. She'll graduate with 26.5 credits. Gotta love that. As long as you're willing to work for it, Success is easy to find at DSA.

Mr. J.B.
Mr. J.B.: This institution is more like a family to the young minds they're shaping. I absolutely love this school. What a great place to feed the flame of our talented youth.
Breanna Polanco
Breanna Polanco: I Go to DSA High School and I have Hearing loss , The school is beautiful and Awesome, and I love it, I don't like the stairs but we do have Elevator passes , The Teachers are kind so are the other students, You can also choose your choice of lunch and chargers for you to charge your PhonesThere is even Theaters, art and anything you can Imagine! Yes, there is subjects like algebra, ELA, etc. , So parents I recommend your children to visit Dsa High school! We are welcome to everyone! ACHIEVERS! (Ps. I am a Freshman at DSA!)
Mail Box
Mail Box: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueDon’t bring your kids here.
Mya Moe Arrington
Mya Moe Arrington: Too many damn stairs!
Ghg Gbbbc
Ghg Gbbbc: This school is a great school but when students have an emergency they are not understanding by any means. There was a situation on the stairs and when students tried to get help they were turned away.
ichibann dotson
ichibann dotson: This school isn’t considered a real high school to me. It’s NO sports and the education here sucks and will not prepare you for college. What I can say about it is the radio and tv program is great with cameras learning how to edit and all of that but academically and far as having a true high school experience is where it lacks.
Latavea Tillman
Latavea Tillman: I go to the school now. Its amazing. The school is honestly spectacular. I couldn’t imagine going to another high school. (great food also)
Iamnijajanae
Iamnijajanae: This is a good school I love it the only downfall about it is the kids
Delano Dalton
Delano Dalton: Awesomeness
Nathan Hamm
Nathan Hamm: Worst school to possibly attend in the detroit area. This school has had the worst administration of any high school for the past several years. I'd never punish my kid as much as to send them to this school. Dont believe the nice comments, this school has horrible arts programs, teachers that are disrespectful to the students, and a massive amount of bullying. Every administrator is biased so dont think the code of conduct matters in any predicament. I could keep going but I'm gonna cut it short but to sum it up this school needs to hire an entirely knew staff and I would not advise for any parent to enroll their child here.
The Explorations
The Explorations: Worst school ever
Mykel Underwood
Mykel Underwood: High School Goal is to get into here
Gregory Dalton
Gregory Dalton: I attend this school and so far so good and it’s a very welcoming place and it has great staff and they also allow you to express your self in the arts
Peace
Peace: this is the best school ever the other comments about begin mean and roaches bugs are not true; the school is better than ever. i attend the school I'm graduating in 2021
Nita
Nita: Had a brief visit to the school for my daughters solo and ensemble festival performance for the district. Visit went well...no problems.
Sherisa Webb
Sherisa Webb: I love to major in music and performing arts so this place sounds like a dream come true
Satavionne Hicks
Satavionne Hicks: Terrible and UnfortunateAfter my child's experience at this school i decided to make an online review. I give this school a rate of 1/5. This school is not what it seems to be. The staff is going to tell you that this is a great school for your child because they have a opportunity to learn their academics and perform their arts. Well it turns out that's the biggest lie in history. This school is DPS school which is one of the school with the LOWEST QUALITY LEARNING. My child started before at a straight A student and came out 9th grade year and a semester of 10th grade year as a failing student. This school is a JOKE. A JOKE. Do not send your child here. :-
