So my sister was cremated get the boxs back guess what her name spelled wrong on the label and on the permit. Then I had to wait so long for her death certificate and her name spelled wrong on the top line and they tried to correct it on so unprofessional I will never use them again. the next line. So unprofessional just sad no family should have to go through this at all. I paid for 3 death certificate and only have two. No stars no respect for this company should close down now.

After numerous phone calls and broken promises on top of the inept ability to locate my mother in the process, I sit by anticipating another failed promise of providing my mother's remains tomorrow by noon. Trust me I am not holding my breath waiting and if I did I ask that my family DO NOT entrust Swanson's Funeral Home to handle my final arrangements. Such a disappointment.

Not even close! This is definitely not the great work I’ve been accustomed to over the decades At Swansons. Mike Salinas: Trusted name every professional, walked us through all the details very helpful. Only negative was they were under construction or repairs so no visit or viewing after 4pm, I understand the everything about COVID, but for money we spent I had to buy couple of boxes of mask for the guests, I thought that was uncalled for, and to come to find out they were the only funeral home that made mask wearing mandatory instead of optional. Everything else was great the customers service was great.

Regina was amazing, as a grieving mother she made me feel like she knew our baby and was apart of our family. I can’t thank her enough for her generosity. Doris got our baby’s death certificate in a timely manner and called us with updates every step of the way. We got our baby buried very quickly and we’re able to find peace that it was done according to our plans. Our family can’t thank them enough for being there for us during the most tragic moment of our life.

Ebonie Baldwin: Very disappointed and more than disturbed with the memorial service for my sister that took place at this establishment this past weekend. The services received added more stress to our family while we were yet already grieving! I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my entire life. First there was a timing issue…the family was given a time for the family hour and service and the minister and the organist who was supposed to administer the service was given something different??? How does that happen? Secondly minister arrives, comes in with a dog who he unleashed to roam freely and stated should be referred to Father Niko never asking if this was ok with the family, organ player never arrived. The minister proceeded with services not paying attention to program, this man came in and just started talking. In utter disbelief I actually hoped and prayed that I was dreaming. Unfortunately I was not at all dreaming! Shocked and getting more disturbed by the minute here comes this dog over to shake, stretch and sniff…did they ever take a moment to think about this situation? I would said NO! Someone could have been terrified of dogs or even had allergies to dogs! No regard to any of these matters! We make it to the middle of this so call memorial service someone sneezes the minister stops and yells “Niko is that you?” Really??? I couldn’t take anymore of this foolery so I decided to leave out for a bit of air…while out it was discovered that Niko had made his way to hallway and made one of the funeral home personnel upset so they decided to lock Niko the dog away, now you have this dog barking in the hallway. This funeral home will never be recommended from our family!This is supposed to be a place of business and a funeral home at that, the family entrusted this place to handle the unfortunate last memory of our sister instead we had to deal utter ridiculousness. I made sure to take the time while still grieving to do this review because NO family should ever have to go through a memorial like this!!!

Gabriella Liska: over the course of the last two days, my family and i have been yanked around, confused, and just spoken to in a rude manner, all while going through an extremely rough time. The one hour of private viewing before the public viewing for immediate family was more like 40 minutes- due to them not being ready on time. there is a kitchen/eatery area in the basement which is nice for a long day like that, but that had to be cleaned up an hour before the viewing was over - meaning it was a rush to clean and my family was torn a away from the last hour and half of viewing. On the same note, the bathroom doors in the basement do not close all the way and the stall doors do not even lock. also, those bathrooms are off limits for the last hour and half (the cleaning time). i was rudely told that i could not use them - i just wanted to clean up my face. when it came time to pack up the arrangements in the room to go, it was very tough communicating what we wanted to stay in the casket for the next day- i primarily blame the coordinator for this as she did have a big attitude. we were told that we could leave some flower arrangements there and pick them up in the following days, which was great. but at the end of the day, the two ladies that worked there just picked them up and brought them out to us in the parking lot as we were leaving and made us take them. the next day of mass and the burial was a rushed mess. after mass, we were hurried out by the coordinator and did not have any time to mingle or enjoy the pastries and coffee we provided for people. this was frustrating because we had a 3 hour window until the burial and an hour drive there. rushing us was not necessary. at the cemetery, the coordinator, she did not know how things were going to work out and we waited around for about 45 minutes while she figured it out, instead of being able to watch him get lowered into the ground like we were told we were going to be able to, we all had to sit in our cars and watch from there. if i didn't have binoculars, i wouldn't of been able to see anything. the team at this funeral home are very unorganized, sloppy, and in every way rude and inconsiderate.

Timothy Clark: We used the Sullivan and Son location in Royal Oak when our father passed in March 2021. Jim did an excellent job of providing my family with exceptional service while always maintaining a calm and compassionate demeanor. The initial consulting discussion was held over the phone so we could all participate. Jim very efficiently walked us through the entire process, patiently explaining things in an understandable way and answering any questions we had. In about an hour we had covered all the relevant topics and had a clear understanding of next steps and what everything would cost. As questions or follow-up requests came to mind, Jim was very prompt in responding and taking care of things.They did an exceptional job with the "presentation" of dad, having him look much more like himself than he did in his final days at the hospital leading up to his passing. Because dad's parish priest was out of town, we needed a priest to preside over the prayer service and final rites at the cemetery and Jim secured Rev. Lancaster for us, who did an excellent job. The staff was patient and accommodating when some of us changed our minds day of the ceremony regarding opening the casket and going to the grave site.Lora in the office was always very friendly and helpful with any questions or requests. She made certain that any requests we had were either dealt with directly or forwarded on to the correct person. Mike was helpful in getting some photos we wanted copied from the funeral home webpage to a shared album on Google we were curating.This was a definite 5 star experience, which is greatly welcomed and appreciated when you are dealing with something as stressful and unpleasant as a funeral. Jim and the entire Sullivan team are great at making a difficult experience as manageable as possible.

Mary Ellen is one of the most comforting souls I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with, and her genuine compassion for our family was greatly appreciated during such a difficult time.Chris was a wonderful funeral director to work with- he walked us through a few complicated steps, making things as easy on us as he could.
