The chocolate ganache on top, I actually enjoyed that part. But took one bite and it wasn’t worth the calories to eat the rest. I LOVE chocolate and sugar, for me to not want to eat a cupcake.... it’s never happened.But overall for a $3 cupcake I expected so much more. I was very disappointed in this bakery and won’t go back

Rebecca S: I don’t know how this place isn’t a solid 5 stars, but it should be. I don’t usually love bakery cake, this is the only bakery I’ve every been to that I ate alllll the frosting. The buttercream tastes homemade, and is the perfect cake/frosting ratio. Anyone calling this cake dry must not know that cake made with butter with be firm & seem dry when chilled; you need to eat at room temperature. They even offer to bring it up to room temp when you order, and it was very soft and moist. The sweetness is perfect, not overwhelmingly sugary, but perfectly sweet. I had the birthday cake cake, which was delicious, and we got a cookie butter cinnamon roll to go and ate it a day & a half later, and it was still fresh and AMAZING. I really thought it would be way too rich and was thinking we should have stuck with a plain cinnamon roll, but again, perfect. No dry outside without enough frosting, every bite was the perfect ratio of frosting to cinnamon to cookie butter. It’s a good thing I don’t live nearby or I’d go broke and gain 50 pounds in a month. Came back the next day for coffee (iced caramel brûlée latte), and even though I’m not a huge coffee person, I could taste the quality. I’m regretting not getting any cookies or brownies to try those, too. I’ll definitely be back, may even make a special trip. If you’re looking to try a new bakery, you need to go here, you will not regret it.

zana snell: I ordered my cake for my birthday with them and I got two flavors triple berry and strawberry short cake. I got my kids to help sample just in case I didn’t like the flavors. I never had anything from them before my kids LOVED them all! I saw some reviews on how some people stated it was dry but I was asked if I would like my cake warmed up before even getting the cake as you could tell they keep the cakes cooled to keep them fresh. The texture was moist and you could tell before eating the slices! Thank you guys for the mystery shopping/review experience! The customer service was great! My son even loved it he stayed the cashier was very nice! I can’t wait to get my birthday cake when the time comes!

Sophia: This place is amazing! I come here at least once a week. The cookies are always extremely fresh, the macaroons are amazing, the cake variety is perfect and the cinnamon rolls are amazing! They offer to warm them up in the store for you as well. The workers are always nice and welcome as well as answer any questions there is. The cookies are overall my favorite. The parking is usually really easy to find and the walk is always close. They have a good size indoor and outdoor seating accommodating for large or small parties. They also have an amazing gluten free pastry section.

I'm not a huge cake person (sorry!) but Terri's Cakes know what they're doing and they do it WELL. The flavor options are all amazing, I actually can't pick a favorite of what we tried. The cakes are moist and the frosting isn't overly sugary and sweet.For our wedding, we ordered a 3-tiered cake that could feed all of our guests, as well as the cake jars for people to take home as a favor. Terri's cakes also offered to customize the jars for us with stickers of whatever we wanted - we chose our dog and it was such a cute, small detail that a lot of guests loved.Second, the customer service. This is a family owned business and they will treat you like family as well. The woman we did our consultations with was so helpful, fun and nice. She explained all of our options to us clearly and made sure we were happy with what we were getting.We had a number of guests with nut and gluten allergies, and we were assured their bakery takes these issues very seriously. We felt comfortable serving these products to our friends and family with dietary restrictions.As a bonus - we get a complementary dessert for our one year anniversary so we didn't have to worry about freezing part of our cake! I'm already excited to see them next year.(I will upload photos of the cake when I get them from the photographer)

The matcha was bland in taste, and chalky in texture, basically just a bunch of powder sitting at the bottom of the cup. They did not whisk it at all, just topped it with milk. Not sure how the coffee is but given they do not whisk matcha, they probably don’t brew coffee correctly either.

I had a London Fog that came out great and then I got a special Avalon Brunch Burger that honestly was one of the best brunch burgers I’ve had in awhile. Stuart Fraser: The menu is kind of varied and somewhat local. They only have three salad options and it’s pretty expensive to add a little chicken. The employees seemed cold and slow to respond to basic things like the coffee dispenser being empty. Lastly, I found a flying insect tucked inside a lettuce leaf. It makes me question how well they wash their vegetables.

Jan-Andreas Froese Matos: This is a seriously good cafe, in a great location in the heart of Detroit. They have more food variety than you may think when you first walk in, just take a look at their menu! A good variety of coffee, some beer on tap, wine and cocktails.They make delicious breakfast food, with a special highlight in my opinion when it comes to the breakfast pizza. I wasn’t expecting much as it doesn’t really seem like a pizza place, but boy was I wrong. It was easily top 3 best breakfast pizzas I ever had (foto won’t do justice!).So whether you just need a coffee to go, or want to hang out, this is the place to go for some warm good food. Also the staff was very nice. Four stars just because it can be a bit packed at times, thus annoying depending on the day and mood. But let that be a suggestion for improvement 😊

ThatSkySylvos: I got the gluten free vegan strawberry cake and the texture is the best vegan cake texture I’ve had out of all Ontario. It has a light sponge texture as opposed to being really dense and wet. The sweetness is spot-on. I was able to eat a whole slice without getting sick of the sugar. I sort of wish the icing was more like buttercream but it reminded me a lot of cool whip. I also wouldn’t mind even MORE strawberry flavour maybe another layer in the cake or a layer of strawberry compote instead.

Planned for weeks, ordered the Cake a week out, should be more than enough time to make a hypoallergenic birthday cake, what can go wrong? Arrive at this business on the day of, surprise! They gave my Cake to someone else. How does that even happen? They’ll call the customer to bring the cake back. Em no, I don’t want a Cake that’s already gone to someone’s House, needless to say we’re in the middle of a Pandemic!?! how about give me the other customers cake? it’s a hypoallergenic Cake, same as mine, “Can’t give you theirs, its a specific theme”, Uh?!? The theme can’t mean that much to them if they looked at mine and took it Home. Staff makes no effort to make it right. I leave, unable to go back Home and face birthday kids empty handed, and unfamiliar with an alternative hypoallergenic cake source, I grit my teeth and return, waited in line outside for 20 minutes to buy 2 hypoallergenic Cupcakes, after all that, she says I don’t have to pay for the 2 cupcakes worth A whole $5, No, I think I'll pay and I paid. Talk about insult upon injury, I get that mistakes happen, as a conscientious person/business, we fix it, I’m not sure which was more distressing, that they gave my kids birthday Cake away or that they lacked the courtesy to correct their error. It can’t be all bad I suppose, all the 5 stars on here show they must get it right sometimes, but apparently when they get it wrong, they get it ruin your event wrong. Will I return to or recommend this business? Ah! In the unlikely event that cupcakes somehow become the remedy for COVID 19, and I was on my way out due to COVID 19, I still would not go to this business because chances are that they would have given my life saving cupcake to the wrong customer. The prices were a little steep for the size of product you are given. The cashier seemed disconnected from the people she was serving; she forgot to put my Peach Cobbler in the bag (I wasn't charged thankfully). When asking her a question, she was dry and seemed preoccupied with other things. Maybe I visited on a "miss" day, but being my first time, I was slightly disappointed after looking forward to the visit.

Monique Junkunc: I ordered two dozen cupcakes and small vegan chocolate cake for my son’s fifth birthday with a request for a Mario screen print or simple decoration on the cake only giving a few days for the order (the date snuck up on me). I was beyond impressed to see the amount of care and art that went into making this cake, and the taste was next level. It was incredible, best cake (vegan or not) I’ve ever had. I'm not sure if the recipes have changed but the desserts are not good. My most recent purchase was a cupcake and honestly it tasted like the box mix I use at home.
