It was printed on the final cheque to add those additional 20÷ even 20÷ have been added already. This is really trying to trick people come on. I mean ok you can say it's my fault I should have read the text but I am new to the US I just add a 20÷ tip always and I don't want to read always the small texts in a restaurant trying to figure out if someone is going to trick me or not.

Lisa Johansson: The food here is really good but I have an issue with restaurants marketing one thing and receiving something different. Their menu’s say wild caught salmon but they switch it out. Some days you get wild caught and some days you get farm raised. The difference is very noticeable for those who are seafood lovers and health conscious. Farm raised is a completely different color and flavor than wild caught. I would give 5 stars but I dislike not knowing what I’ll get when I order when it’s marketed as wild caught. I hope they can change this.

Ben Price: The food is bad, even the table bread is bland and maybe almost stale. The hummus is weird, the pita is out of a commercial bag and isn't good, the feta on the salad is soft and creamy? And they don't bother breaking it up over the salad. I think the Greek dressing is Kraft dressing maybe touched up a little. The waitress and manager were gracious in taking the food back and not charging us, but just don't bother going here. Feels like maybe this place was special in the 80's and has just given up.

Alexandra: My father has been taking me to The Golden Fleece since I was a child. I’ve seen it go through 3 different renovations now but always have the same great food. After 30 years of going here I finally met the best server they have had! José was amazing and took care of everything we needed and made us feel appreciated and welcomed! Also Mahir has always been at the front along with Ali for as long as I can remember and the fleece would not be what it is with out these 3 men! When I see them working I know I will be taken care of!!

Google User: What a huge disappointment. First of all, they've decided to automatically increase your bill by 20% for a tip no matter what size your party is. We order our food, two drinks and an appetizer all at the same time. 10 minutes later, still no drinks. Another 10 minutes later, a waiter brought our entrée. I told him we haven't gotten our drinks yet and cancel the appetizer as our food is already here. I here him arguing with the cook that tells him the appetizer has been on the counter for 10 minutes. 5 minutes after we started eating our food, our waitress comes up and asks how everything is. I tell her (this is the third time I've asked) we haven't received our drinks yet. She apologized, brought our drinks and our bill with her 20% tip. Food was bland. This place has been in business for 53 years, it wont make it to 55.

Mike Alleman: I think my take on the food was because I ordered a Greek pasta dish. It tasted home cooked but not my cup O tea. Shout out to Pauline who was my server who was attentive and had an awesome smile. The Fleece had that hard scrabble trendy Detroit vibe before the vibe was cool - raw painted brick walls, vintage ceiling tiles. This restaurant has a long history in the D and deserves it.

When busy they can be slow as they make their pita fresh which is great except if you're in a hurry. The parking sucks due to it being cramped and also royal oak. The patio is nice but very small so you'll be lucky to get a seat. Drop in do a pick up on off hours and you'll find your new favorite Greek place

Peter A. Morrell: The Brown Sauce !!Almost every restaurant I visit has its unique dish or accoutrement that makes it memorable. On this visit to Downtown Ecorse, I stopped into a well-known local Greek Eatery, the Auburn Cafe. I was in the mood for something simple and fast since I was famished. The interior brings you back a few decades, but don't let the lack of a modern touch fool you, they make great food here. Once I was seated, my server recommended something that I haven't had in years, a traditional Greek Soup called Avgolemono, which is a Lemon Rice Soup. If you have travelled or dined on the cuisines such as Greek, Arab, Sephardic Jewish, Turkish, Balkan and Jewish-Italian then you that Avgolemono is a family of sauces and soups made with egg yolk and lemon juice mixed with broth, heated until they thicken. The Auburn does a great take on this dish. Next was an old favourite, Pork Souvlaki or Pork Kabob. The grilled, marinated and tender pork was very good. My server before my meal came out told me that I should the 'Brown Sauce'. She was right as it did add some complexity and flavour to my meal. Michael Kenney: Love this place! Just make sure you get there plenty early on a Saturday. Wanted to 3 salads to go, it was 14:30 when I called to order and they were shutting down. James Basara: Visited here on the way to the Redford Theater to see Young Frankenstein. Picked Athens based on reviews and had a taste for a Moussaka. Walked in, sign said please seat yourself. Walked past 4 of the staff at the counter and grills. Sat down and waited 10 minutes and never even got acknowledged. Place was empty save a couple of carry out customers. No excuse. Walked out and same staff just looked our way and smiled. The epitome of poor service.
