Gordon Williams: Excellent customer service with a knowledgeable staff and a good range. Can't give 5 stars because $85 for a transfer fee is just ridiculous. Get your transfers at any other FFL, they usually average $30-$40.

David Lin: The team at Action Impact (Southfield branch) are good guys. Their knowledge base about firearms selection, operation, and maintenance are top notch. I was a first time gun buyer, with no previous experience, and these men were very open to sharing their experience and expertise. The store is clean and well-kept. Their range is nice with multiple lanes, and I've noticed it is rarely overcrowded. If you desire privacy in your shooting practice, this is a good place to be.

Antonio Watts: I’ve been to this pawnshop a few times and I had a decent experience except for two occasions one is when I took a ring to get resize and two of my stones where missing the second time was recently I had a watch battery replaced and they crack the watch face but I didn’t notice until I left. So my advice to everyone who takes any jewelry here take a picture of your item before leaving it with them and do a comparison afterwards because once you leave they will take no responsibility for any damages for anything. Better yet do a video of your item that you plan to take there to get repairs or have some type of work done to show exactly how your item looks like before they do anything to it.

Hayley Delpier: Absolutely loved my CPL class at this location, my instructor Ebony was amazing and fun which kept an 8 hour class interesting and easy to pay attention to. Great place for every skill level but also makes newbies feel comfortable. The classes really focuses on encouraging further education past the basic CPL class. Can’t wait to go back for more classes and their range. 💕 Dom with USCCA was amazing as well and provided lots of resources to our class.
John: Took the CPL class with Ron. He was a great instructor. The class was informative but also Ron managed to make the information interesting to learn, even the legal portion, it felt like learning from a knowledgeable old friend. He made sure everyone understood everything well and that they understood the seriousness of self defense while also keeping the mood light for the most part. Great class with a great instructor.The facilities were nice too, the range, bathrooms and class were all clean and well maintained. Plus they have deleading soap in the bathrooms.

Bre Bre: Today was my first time coming here. I took my CPL class online and decided to visit this location for the range portion. Every worker here was extremely nice and patient. All of my questions were answered and I was showed in detail how to handle a gun for the first time. I will be purchasing from this location and starting today this will be my only range I attend lol. I felt very welcomed and my instructor felt that I was nervous and made me feel 100 percent comfortable. I highly recommend this place for newbies like myself!!

The real fight: I brought my very first firearm from the store.It was a Taurus PT 24/7 CDS.And right after I payed for my firearm. The store clerk shook my hand and said "hey brother, welcome to the armed community ‼️& I felt so welcome in their store.Just in case you're wondering, yes I am a Black man & NO‼️ I did not get no racist vibes from these guys. Ed G: Wessel Gun Shop is a fantastic store. I have been going to them for the last 3 or 4 years to handle my firearm transfers as from my experience their transfer charge is very reasonable. Today was the first time I purchased a gun directly from them and I am beyond happy and satisfied. Steve and Ken were an absolute pleasure to deal with. The shotgun I bought was an incredible deal and less than half the price of most that I found online. Their prices on new guns are also pretty reasonable considering the demand and lack of availability of many guns and ammo right now. I noticed that some reviewers complain of a lack of customer service, this is a small shop with few employees, just be patient and they will get to you when they can. It is not a good idea in my opinion to be in a rush when shopping for a new firearm. Wessel Gun Shop has always been good to me and I will continue to give them my buisness whenever I can!

Tae boe: For as long as I have been in the downriver community this has been my go to gun shop but the other day I go in to do my usual firearm transfer and pick up and I got delayed. No problem right? It has happened before went I made a purchase at Action Impact waited 3 days went to pick up my purchase. Now these gentlemen inform me that they wont complete the transfer after 3 days like the law allows and it can take up to 30 to get a response, even tho I’m a valid cpl holder, and worth mention when I walk in the place this time they just stare at me as if saying “how are you or how can I help is a cardinal sin”. So needless to say I will be getting my firearms sent elsewhere and wont do anymore business here THEY DEFINITELY ARENT 2ND AMENDMENT SUPPORTERS.

Aaron Wood: If you want to go to a real gun shop, where the owners know what they are talking about, and can get you anything you are after, this is the place! I called and they kept the store open for my wife and I (past hours) as I wanted to surprise her with a Glock. Not only were they very welcoming and not pushy, but took their time and gave us really good insights to find the perfect gun. I was so impressed that I ended up ordering a special one that I was originally not even thinking about for another couple years. But with the great deal my wife got, and their wanting to be sure that we were happy, I couldn’t resist. This is like no other gun store I have been to in the best of ways! So many times I’ve referred a question his way (mind you, I haven’t been able to make a purchase yet!) and he is always willing to answer and help with any questions I have about gun laws, selling and buying, and little things that first-time gun owners wouldn’t know.I overheard someone’s experience during their C&C class and they said they same, SO professional and knowledgeable.He is one of the funniest business owners out there but when it comes to his knowledge and professionalism, he is the best I know. I would trust him over anyone else.

Dan Hetrick: Showed up, ready to drop some money on a new Glock, and apparently the owners don't care about posted hours. I showed up at 2:00pm (they apparently close at 3:00 and reopen at 4:30), and there's no one here. This shop is already inconvenient enough, with their weird hours and not being open on weekends, and you apparently can't count on them to be in the shop when they're supposed to be open. I'm spending my money elsewhere, and I'd suggest you do the same. Completely unprofessional.

roman kolodchin: I'm a new gun owner and my first experience was with the Island Armory. I have read some of the recent reviews and I am sad that such a great group of responsible people can be so bitter . I have had nothing but a great experience. I started by taking the CWL class during which the owners Natalie and Jayson explained all of the finer points of gun care and ownership and then I went on to purchase my first weapon, which during the process Natalie sat down with me, and went through all the finer points showing me the ins and outs of the weapon. I highly recommend this place because of the owners. You can always find a weapon but it's the personalized service that make the experience great. And to some of the detractors out there, yes you have every right to spend your hard earned dollar anywhere you please but don't be too harsh because someone has had a bad day. I find it very interesting that some hunters will sit for hours and days on end and and never get a shot off, but don't have the patience to try to give this little store a break. Happy hunting. Thx Natalie and Jayson for all you do to promote safe professional approaches to gun ownership.

Rassam Nagi: I was looking online for a place to do a transfer for the firearms I purchased online and when I saw reviews about how negative these local gun stores are when it comes down on how they treat their customers and wow just terrible is all I can say. I came across The Island Armory and I read their reviews. Nothing but good reviews from this place. I told myself this is the place I will check out. They did a transfer for me and got me on my way. Awesome experience and made me feel so comfortable. They are very knowledgeable. I definitely will be doing business with them again in the future.
