Detroit Soul: what do users think?
Reba Maiorana: Had the smothered pork chop dinner with mac and cheese, cornbread dressing and a side of greens. The greens were stem pieces with tough turkey meat and too sweet, the dressing tasted like they used jiffy corn muffin, it was also too sweet, the mac and cheese was okay 2/10. Wouldn't recommend and won't be going back. Lape Soulfood is much better. The pork chops were old and chewy and almost on the too salty side

Josephine Johnson: DISAPPOINTED! Wouldn't answer phone; drove 30 min; waited 40 min for food; shorted one piece of chicken; dressing & black eyes very DRY; way too salty! Can't understand high ratings. Won't go back.Parking: Virtually no parking (had to block other business)
T Lady: Unfortunately my husband and I were very disappointed with our meal…we paid nearly $30 for nothing! We didn’t care for the Mac n cheese and the chicken wings had no seasoning and weren’t fried hard at all….for fried chicken it was just too moist….don’t intend to go back.

I believe we got the store closing part of our order of food.Vegetarian options: Need more vegetarian options for us veggie heads.
Can Man: I placed a catering order for my mom's birthday. The customer service from the beginning was professional and pleasant. The day of pickup, everyone was so helpful. They brought the food out to my truck and overextended themselves. I will DEFINITELY continue to support Detroit Soul. And I would recommend it to anyone looking for catering, or just a quick and delicious meal to grab. Thank you to everyone at Detroit Soul on 8 Mile!😀

Brenda Harris: Because of the advertisement on Fox 2 News that Sunday morning and the church flow, it was packed and took a little time to get our meal. The staff continue to be friendly and helpful. We went to the Jefferson location. Very inviting atmosphere inside. But, it was well worth the wait! OMG, the food was absolutely delicious!!! Haley Nicole: Everything about this place was absolutely amazing. The food was heavenly, the house wine was great, and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend. Angie Clark: I recently visited Savannah Blue for the first time with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. Despite receiving high recommendations, our experience was underwhelming. Upon arrival, we paid $10 for parking in the back lot designated for the restaurant, but there were no clear directions to the front entrance. We accidentally walked into another establishment called the Willow before eventually finding our way up two flights of stairs to Savannah Blue. After being seated, we waited ten minutes without any service or even a menu. Eventually, a server arrived with empty glasses and then disappeared, only for the bartender to bring us water with the assurance that our server would be with us shortly. Despite seeing other staff members standing around, we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a busy holiday weekend and they were understaffed.Once we finally received a QR code to access the menu, we ordered two cocktails and the crab dip. While my drink was great, my husband was served a drink he didn't ask for and was charged an additional $2 for it to be served "neat." The crab dip was disappointing as well, tasting more like tuna than crab. While the wonton chips were enjoyable, the dish didn't live up to its cost for the quality of the ingredients. For our entrees, I ordered the braised oxtails and my husband ordered the fried ribs. Unfortunately, both dishes were underwhelming. The oxtails lacked flavor and tasted more like a bland pot roast, while the ribs were dry and nearly meatless.Overall, our experience at Savannah Blue fell short of our expectations. After paying the bill, we decided to go to Bucharest for a more enjoyable dining experience.

Keisha Young: Parking: It would be good if they could partner with the lot owner behind the restaurant, to validate parking for the guests.Wheelchair accessibility: I'm not sure if they have an elevator, but it is on the 2nd floor.
MR. MOLD: Food was great. Service was on the rough side.
Andrew G: Great spot for comfort food! Great vibe and service (make sure to abide by their dress code - don't wear casual or athleisure). Had the catfish and it was perfectly fried, not greasy at all. Collard greens were cooked so well - full of flavour. Definitely recommend if in Detroit.
Ren C.: Fantastic meal! Sam, the bartender/waiter was top notch. Fried chicken, shrimp and grits, Cornish hen, collard greens were awesome! The candied sweet potatoes were desert worthy! 💯 would return!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Corn Bread, Cornish Hen, Shrimp and Grits Entree …More
Takia Maxwell: I visited this evening with my girlfriend. The waitress was pleasant and knowledgeable. She made sure we were happy and explained items we asked about. The salmon was really small for the price and I was a little disappointed that I was forced to order my meal ala-cart which resulted in me spending $20 more. The drinks were delicious.
kia G: I’m still thinking about the catfish, best I’ve ever had. This restaurant was surprisingly good. They accommodated us 30 mins before closing without problem. The crab cake was excellent as well. Drinks were strong. Macaroni was good. Didn’t care for the yams. Greens were good but a little spicy. I’ll be going back every time I visit the city.
Durvalle Robinson: Nice place
amanda jointer: I had so much hope for this restaurant for a first time visit. I had the catfish which was good, greens, sweet potatoes, and my BF and I shared some macaroni and cheese. Unfortunately the macaroni and cheese was dry. The sweet tea was served in a very small glass. My BF's lemonade taste like water. The corn muffins taste like a bag of sugar was included in the mix. I was so underwhelmed and yet I expected so much more!
Michelle Downs: Nice place, but far from upscale. Ordered a drink and they did not have the ingredients, so I ordered another think and it never came. When I reminded the waitress, she tried to give an excuse but I told her never mind because it was taking so long. I was there for my sister's Birthday and she could only reserve a seat of 4, and was told to call back to make another one if she wanted more people, so we did but she we got there the want to sit was across the room from each other. They finally seated us to receive cold food except the meat. I think I've had enough of this joint.
Big Boss Riss: Food was impeccable, even stayed hot until I was full. The setting was fancy & intimate. I loved my experience. First time from Pittsburgh, PA & I will be back.
Brandi Parker: Such a fantastic eatery in Youngstown!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Corn Bread, Seared Salmon w Shrimp Farro Jambalaya, Mac and Cheese, Seafood …More

Katie Huddlestun: I can't speak on the food because we never made it to that point. Service was absolutely horrible. Had a reservation and we showed up about 15 min early. Sat at the bar for about 10 minutes before the bartender even looked at us. He walked by about 20 times and didn't acknowledge us. Finally when my husband caught his attention, he came over annoyed and my husband asked for the beer selection. He opened the fridge and there were about three half empty six packs of beer. That was the selection, at a restaurant charging $40 a plate and $6 a beer. He brought my husband a beer and walked away without even asking me if I wanted anything. After another 10 minutes the hostess came to tell us our table was ready but we had to cash out first. Took ANOTHER 10 minutes to get the bartenders attention. Finally, we cashed out and waved over the hostess to tell her we were ready. When she came back she said she had to go find a table to clean off for us... Wasn't our table ready 10 min ago?? After all that, we were not going to spend $150 on a dinner where there was ZERO hospitality and serving $6 Coronas out of a six pack that they picked up from the liquor store on the way in. Needless to say, we walked out and went somewhere else.

Southern Comfort & More: what do users think?
Jada McGowan: Good sides I don't like fat on my ribs though
D. Pullen: Food always good my family cook here go support thank you.......
Twinn S: The Bbq turkey ribs were to die for. The Mac was 😋 and the greens didn't need salt added.💪🏾
Samuel Krueger: Takeout: YesMore
Valeria Kowalski: "FANTASTICALLY"DELICIOUS I WOULD TELL EVERYBODY TO COME THERE THE FOOD IS "100" FAH REAL I'M A VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER...MZ.VDK
Cortney Moore: Lamb chops are $4/peice and definitely NOT worth it. Very thin and smothered in BBQ sauce. You can barely taste the meat, lots of fat. I asked for Medium, they were extremely well done...probably because they were so thin. The macaroni and cheese tasted like it was ok previously frozen and just reheated. The yams were pretty good. Just drive down the street to Mainstreet in Hamtramck if you want quality well cooked lamb chops for about the same price.
Chiara Steward: have had their food many times Their food never fails to be comfort and like home cooking every time it taste amazing and is always worth the money not to mention it’s probably the cheapest soul food restaurant we have ever been to
Deangela Goler: I enjoyed the food! However, it needs a little sprucing up inside. Also! My order was wrong and I had to go back up there. The customer service was decent. They took care of me.
Charmaine Clay: Grilled turkey chops was very good and I received my food faster than expected 😋
La'Nise Moody: Loved it
Meka T: Everything was nasty 😷
Micah Lewis: Horrible I got rib tips that they chopped like onions they were in really tiny small squares over seen that anywhere i asked for no barbecue sauce I’m sure they rinsed some off and gave them to me
Henry MAGASARK: Great food I'm definitely going back
Ray Money: Nice people good food
Amber Johnson: I had the meatloaf with mac and chz and cabbage…When i say its well worth it…ITS worth it
Don King: This might have been the worst food I’ve ever bought the sides with very bland the fried lobster tail was extremely salty the rib tips I could tell what was fat and what was meat look like rib soup my wife’s food her half chicken taste like it should have been at a diabetes convention it had no flavor and it was 3/4 fat her Mac and cheese the cheese was hard and the cabbage taste like they was mad at the seasoning that day so they didn’t use any worst meal ever I see why they say no refunds cause they know it’s terrible
Khloe Ali: Unlike many other soul food restaurants in Detroit, this place actually answers their phone so that's automatically a plus in my book. I was craving corned beef, cabbage and mac and cheese and this was the ONLY place I found serving it. The food was delicious. The blue koolaid is good too. I plan on returning to try their different options.
Josh Anthany: Loykey everything is good
Rishawn Lawrence: Food was terrible and burnt. I threw it in the garbage. Please don't call yourself a soulfood place and you don't make your items from scratch. The dressing was stove top and the yams were from the can. I will never return
Murphy Chapman: Food delish
Sally: Best southern comfort food I've found at a restaurant anywhere. Just like you'd make at home. And they have amazing customer service!! Love them and will come back constantly
