313 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu: what do users think?
Noah Delaney: Great instruction, great atmosphere, all belt levels welcome. Inclusive and friendly culture.
Olaf Stockly: I began training at 313BJJ in October 2018 as a blue belt and was awarded my purple from Fabio in 2021. This gym has the best cohort of training partners I've ever experienced. The culture, vibe, and quality of jiu jitsu at 313 is top of the game, and so is Fabio as a coach - he's the real deal.
John Simmons: An welcoming gym full of awesome people. Fabio is an excellent teacher who really cares about his students. Everyone should try BJJ!
J K: It’s a beautiful family friendly gym with great culture and tradition. Diamond in the D.
Sako: Proud to call this my home BJJ gym. Excellent friendly atmosphere for all levels of experience. Coaches are all great.
Joshua Clowney: Fabio is an excellent teacher and coach of the art. Mamoon runs an incredible kids class, he has great patience and makes learning BJJ fun for the kids. Gym is very clean. I highly recommend 313BJJ to anyone. Amazingly located in the Heart of Detroit.
JonaFina Torres: There is so many good things I could say about this place! I first visited 313 to drop in for open mats. I’ve cross trained all over Michigan and now I’ve found a home on these mats. My game has evolved so much since I started training here! Everyone here is so welcoming. Very beautiful, clean, facility. Whether you’re a beginner or or a visitor, 313 is a great learning environment! ♥️
Anne Rossow: In 313 BJJ, i found my community, place to practice my spirituality, and sense of self. I highly encourage anyone who needs to fulfill that sense of belonging to give 313 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu chance. I wish I started earlier!
Tucker Virkus: This gym has been phenomenal since the first day that I walked in. The head instructor Fabio is both extremely knowledgeable and endearing with his students. In the 7 gyms that I have visited so far, he has demonstrated the highest quality of instruction and structure in his classes. The environment of every gym trickles down from it's head instructor, and at this gym everyone is extremely kind and welcoming. They are invested in seeing you improve while at the same time patient with your journey. High quality jiu jitsu taught from and to great people. Also comparatively very clean mats, locker room, and showers which is a huge plus.
Anam Shah: It’s always intimidating being a female in a male dominated sport—I’m extremely thankful to have found an academy that feels like home. Highly recommend!
saad shajira: One of the best gyms in the Midwest. The instruction and attention to detail of the techniques being taught are amazing. The Head instructor Fábio always greets you with such class and welcomes you into his gym no matter where you train at. The gym is great for beginners and competitors and knows how to welcome newcomers into the sport. The atmosphere at this gym is amazing no judgement at all and everyone is friendly and pushes you to new limits you never thought was possible.
Jack Press: By far the best jiu jitsu gym in the entire Midwest. Fabio has a deep breadth of knowledge to help you reach your goals on and off the mats. The community here is awesome, they will support you on your journey whether that means losing weight, gaining confidence, learning to defend yourself, or becoming a world champion. If you stop by and take a trial class you will see what I mean. Shout outs to Fabio and Mamoon.
Michael Edwards: The kid's coach is amazingly patient
Hamzeh Alomari: I’ve only been here for about a month I’m a beginner but I learned so much within the short time I have been here. I train with Zack the most great teacher and very clear when giving instructions.
Kingdom Builder: Professor Fabio Lima taught an awesome double leg take down and Guilotine defense! I drove all the way from Arkansas to be here. Can't wait to go back for no gi tomorrow. Oss!
Ruthless PKer: I have been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for a few years now and it is undeniably one of the most technical martial arts. In my experience, the best way to describe it is like a slowly blossoming tree, each tree branch representing a move. That move can further be improved upon or can continue to grow into a secondary branch representing the next sequence of the movement. For every move, there is a counter and to every counter, there is another. It teaches you to think ahead and anticipate your opponent’s movements and teaches you how to best respond to those movements. Jiu-Jitsu is a physical game of chess that pushes you to think of all the possible outcomes two or three steps ahead.Jiu-Jitsu has a limitless category of moves you can pick and choose from to build on what works for you. it allows you to develop your own inspired style of game. Fabio and the 313BJJ team do an outstanding job of guiding students through a skill with very detailed and thorough instruction, all while allowing students to develop a fighting style that is unique to themselves. Fabio is the humblest most skilled blackbelt in jiu-jitsu that has built an atmosphere where like-minded individuals can grow. At 313BJJ you can find one of the cleanest and most welcoming environments filled with good people pushing each other to greatness both on the mats and off. OSSS!
Tariq Masri-Zada: Trained all around the world, from dubai, to spain, to los angeles. No gym is better than this one. Level of instruction is detailed and very practical. If you want to get good at jiu jitsu with a family environment you come here.
Keith Cornell: Great training session highly reccomend stopping by if you're passing through or signing up to train with this group!
Matt Prifti: I walked into 313 BJJ a complete beginner and out of shape about 4 months ago. I had no idea what to expect and was very nervous my first day. From Day 1 Fabio has not only made me feel at ease but has pushed me to work hard and stay committed as a beginner. His instructors are all highly talented and each impart a different way of teaching that build very well rounded lessons and students.Everyone pays huge attention to cleanliness and the mats are disinfected multiple times a day. With their diverse schedule I'm able to come train mornings, noon and evenings whenever my schedule allows.Everyone here is very friendly, I can't believe how lucky I am to have walked in to 313 out of all the gyms around Detroit - Thank you Fabio, Mamoon, Jesse, Juan, Byron, Zach and everyone else! You guys are amazing!
Zaire Daniels: Been here a little over a year. Great group of instructors. Flexible training sessions 7 days a week!
Molly Masen: My four children have been training at 313 for almost 5 years and they love it. Mamoon is an excellent instructor. He is patient with the children and always encouraging and fun! My kids have gained strength in mind and body. Fabio leads an awesome community and the kids are a part of it. Everyone who walks in the door has a mutual respect for one another. We are happy to be a part of 313 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Shojin Judo: what do users think?
Nick K: Great judo program. Friendly, fun and welcoming.
Steve Walmsley: Keeping the Judo tradition alive! Keep up the good work!
Chris Carter: Great experience coming in as a complete novice. Senseis Neil, Nabil, and Peter focus on proper technique and execution for safety and effectiveness. I intend to stay a member as long as possible.
Andrew S: I LOVE Judo. Sensei Neil is an amazing instructor, and the higher belts are very nice and helpful. Class is intense, but super fun. The atmosphere is very conducive to learning, and I feel like I am making a bunch of new friends.
Simon Anton: Shojin is a great dojo and I would recommend it to anyone! I have been practicing Judo here for the past three years and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Sensei Simon and Sensei Nabil have years of experience as Judo competitors, referees, and educators - and they are exceptional teachers. I have seen tremendous improvements in myself and in the other members of Shojin - people who are now like my family. We are a diverse group of people - the dojo is very safe, inclusive, and respectful - and all are welcome. Judo is a martial art, a sport, a way of being and is incredibly fun. It is also a great workout. If you are at all curious about Judo come by and give it a try.
Marquis Bradshaw: My friend, Nick, invited me to check out Shojin Judo, his home dojo, back in 2012. I must admit that I was skeptical at first. I was, however, impressed by the level of hands on teaching, team-work, and intense exercise. Had I not moved out of state, I would have likely called Shojin Judo my home dojo. It's a gem.

Detroit Kung Fu Academy: what do users think?
Cole: Very poor. Owen is unconscionable.
Cecil Schinco: Funking incredible trifecta birthday dance party yall.Dj was joe-k ing worthy.Grateful to boogie always.
Nic: Transformative! I have a background in a few different martial arts, however I have found Ving Tsun (pronounced Wing Chun) to be a more efficient and effective system than the others. In terms of self defense, especially living in detroit it has helped to make sure I get home at the end of the night. The body of work that this family puts fourth is amazing. Even better, you are treated like family. Being able to test the work you put in with many different levels of students reinforces your training. Traveling to other states to practice with other schools are some of my favorite experiences I've had.Detroit Kung Fu Academy has very accomplished Sifus. The reach is vast. Several schools, Detroit MI, Southfield MI, Chicago IL, Asheville SC, and internationally all the way to Vienna Austria. As well as all the Moy Tung schools all over the states to visit.
Louis Dellorto: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueStarted training here when I lived in Detroit in 2013 and it continues to vastly improve my life to this day. High quality instructors will lead you in great full body workouts and teach you invaluable self defense skills. Strongly recommend.
Yvette McCaulley: In addition to authentic high quality training, this school has a number of schedules available to plug into. It is also connected to branches across the country (and internationally) so there are interesting opportunities to travel and train.Personally, I’ve been the type of student to modulate between training hard, easing up, training mildly, but whatever stage I’m at it’s easy to get back to it and participate.
Amburr Tittle: Training at Detroit Kung Fu Academy has improved my quality of life in inexplicable ways. Learning the art of relaxation, efficiency, & self defense all in one perfect cocktail of a challenging & rewarding workout.I recommend DKFA to anyone seeking a valuable martial arts experience; whether it be for exercise, stress management, self defense, or any other reason. At DFKA, you will find passionate Sifu’s & instructors dedicated to their art & passing it on to others. There is also great camaraderie amongst the students that train here & a welcoming spirit to those of all experience levels & ages.Highly recommended.Try it today; you won’t regret it!🙏
ron setz: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
P Smoove: I love training here and i love all of my kung fu family that i have come to know here over the years. The training is intensive but really fun. A lot of kool secrets to this style too. If u really wanna be bout that kung fu life this is the spot.
Frankie Daddio: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueAuthentic Ving Tsun and an excellent community of practitioners. There's no doubt that this training has, and continues to help me improve my quality of life and abilities.
Devon Drake: Positive:Quality,ValueThis school is the place to go to study the best self defense, train the best instincts, refine the best reflexes and learn the best kung-fu. Highly recommend to martial artists of all ages and all experience levels!
Gandalf Dali: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueDKFA is a great community to train the martial arts in. The teachers are very knowledgeable and detailed, the students work hard, and the school is an incredible facility
D Kooy: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Value
I D: Positive:QualityVery gracious to have been shown authentic Ving Tsun from passionate martial artists. A must try for any body movement enthusiast.
Andrew Baron: Nice, clean dojo. Very professional and friendly staff. Tons of items to explore.
Steve Anthony: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Value3 months into training and I'm still finding reasons to enjoy it. Great people. Very knowledgeable and personable. Great place to train at a fair price!
Gabriele Hargraves: The longer I train the more curious I get.KungFu is a life style and study, infiltrating all aspects of my life. The physical benefits alone are priceless as is the acquired ability to self-defend. The students are diverse and the instructors are excited to pass on their depth of knowledge.
Michael Benkstein: Detroit Kung Fu Academy transformed my life. I lost 80 pounds and quit smoking. I’m a young man again. I like that in addition to the Detroit location there is also a Southfield location near my home. No previous martial arts experience needed. It’s great exercise and stress relief, and it’s a lot of fun too. Keep at it, the skills will come.
Kevin Peterson: This is excellent training for fitness and self defense. When studying a traditional art like this, there is always more to learn.
TheHighlandwarrior: Meticulous details to the Ving Tsun training system passed down thru the generations from IP Man to Moy Yat to Moy Tung to Moy Yee Tung to Lung Yat Tung. Classes to meet any schedule. 6am, noon, 7pm, private lessons and Kung Fu on demand if you travel. Book an intro. Change your world.
Jeff Jacobs: Detroit Kung Fu Academy teaches real Kung Fu. The depth and knowledge of all the Sifu's is extraordinary! As a student of the school for many years, one word sticks out in my mind - transformative. All the areas my life improved since I joined the school. My health, coordination, strength, self-defense skills and mental focus has improved significantly. If you want real Kung Fu training you should give it a try, you will be glad you did.

Cooper's Gym: what do users think?
Monjoa Likine: Wanted to charge me $350+ without giving any information or letting me check out the gym or the instructors. They then told me to stay where I was at & their next opening wouldn’t be for another 9-months. I never appreciate fast sales like this. Oh and personal training starts at $1,500 an hour.
Piereese crump: Unprofessional and shady, as a real fighter it’s crazy they won’t even let you be in the gym until you pay to train with them… like why I can’t atleast watch to see if I like it. This not the place to go if you wanna be a killer this give me title gym vibes.
Louis Ramirez: Best gym in Detroit if you’re looking to get boxing or Muay thai experience. Great price too
Hussam Ammar: Super unprofessional
hulk rogan: Critical:ProfessionalismI am totally convinced that all of the good reviews are fake, this gym is a joke. There is no true martial artist teacher there. The teachers are so bad, and you Feel the insecurity in them. Beware
Moe Sabz: the two people I spoke with were very unprofessional and rude, the way they pitch their sales has SCAM written all over it, I was telling the guy me and my cousin want to check the place out and sign up if possible, he told me the only way i can go inside is if I sign up.... like what... my dude you want me to pay for a 6 month agreement before even looking at the place..not surprised after reading all the other reviews concerning the same problem
brendon carey: Critical:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Dirgam Alhusseiny: Love the gym and the experience couldn’t recommend it more coach buck is very helpful friendly environment great for learning sensei is very helpful and very understanding
Murtadha Ameer: Don't fall for their sales technique by causing Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO) and pressuring you into signing up. Comes off very unethical and shady. I don't think a great Dojo need to apply those strategies.
Squall Leonhart: Amazing for just about any martial art the coaches are champions so there very qualified to teach any mixed marital arts
Jaun Sandwiches: Just so it can be a 5 star
Elliot Cooper: Come learn and fun in a rewarding and fun place
Sams Kids: Nice gym defenitly the place u wanna get into shape at only reson took one star off is cause they dont do as much sparring as i would like
Lance Lucern: PROS:1. Multiple locations2. Multiple disciplines trained3. They don't go easy on you in general (so you get results)4. They can work with you on payment plans5. Multiple instructors (both male and female)6. Members are looked at as part of one big Cooper's family7. A lot of training equipment8. Safety and discipline generally stressed9. They are good motivators in generalCONS1. While they purport to offer a whole lot of different systems and martial styles, they tend to steer you to the systems they want you to learn while ignoring what you want.2. The instructors often don't seem to be on the same page. What one instructor tells you in one class is often contradicted by another instructor in another class.3. The family feel and atmosphere sometimes strays over into feeling almost cult like.4. Though they have a lot of good equipment, most of the locations I saw could use better equipment set ups in general (e.g. they need more hanging bags).5. At certain locations parking can be a problem.Coopers is a good gym if you want to get in shape, learn basic self defense, martial arts or fighting sports. They don't go easy on you like a lot of places which charge an arm and a leg but, baby and pamper their students because they are afraid of losing paying customers. You will get into shape quickly and learn good basic skills that you will be confident in using in a self defense situation. A lot of places just tell their students what they want to hear and have students walking around thinking they have proficiency and skills they really don't possess. That could get you killed. On the other hand, Cooper's does have some issues they need to address. Some of the members join for boxing, MMA or other fighting sports but, complain they never get any bouts/fights scheduled despite many promises to the contrary. They also seem to welch on other things. I trained there a while ago and was told multiple times I could train in some different disciplines they claimed they offered but, I was stone walled for months. All indications were that they were feeding me BS the whole time. The head guy, while nice, swore up and down they taught all kinds of different systems which I never saw any traces of. It was like dealing with used car salesmen and cult members all rolled into one.The basic classes are affordable but, if you want to learn real skills beyond the most rudimentary, you need to get Cooper's private lessons which cost an arm and a leg.Sometimes some of the classes will shut down out of the blue for extended periods of time with no word from anyone. Also, while questions are not discouraged, they clam up if you ask the "wrong ones" (like, "What happened to such'n such instructor that disappeared a month ago?").Due to my contract period running out, schedule, and a non training related injury, I stopped training there. At first the training got me into good shape and I progressed on the basics but, shortly after that I realized that the general classes were not set up for much progression beyond learning the basics. You have to pay a lot to go beyond. That, and being given the run-around about other systems they claimed to teach, prompted me to reflect on where I wanted to go from there. I may return but, at this point it's not likely. I wish Cooper's well either way but, their program would be a lot better if they stopped to reorganize it.If you're serious, it's still better than your typical strip-mall Tae Kwon Do or Aikido class though. If you are just looking for basic self defense and/or staying in shape then Cooper's Gym is certainly above average. If however, you are looking for a specific system, advanced training, and/or competition at an affordable cost, then Cooper's is hit or miss when it comes to how good it is.
Eric Fortuna: Great gym love fighting very expensive however
Ester Ruiz: My kids love attending classes at Coopers Gym. They've learned alot in a short period of time. Instructors and are friendly and helpful.
Amer Kundra: Best gym
Fitam Eskettit: Wish my membership could have lasted forver great gym would reccomend to anyone way more hands on than big company gyms so progress is gaurnteed
Swipegoat K: Great gym
B Rad: Great gym will throw u right in to fight
Shre Burton: My daughter who is 12 has been boxing here for about 6 months and her confidence has grown her attitude has changed even her physical appearance changed she feels good and she's excited about training this is a good place

Detroit Jiu-Jitsu Academy: what do users think?
Daniel Miller: DJJ has been a staple in the Southeast Michigan BJJ/MMA scene for some time. Really strong reputation throughout the Midwest with phenomenal adult and kids programs. I trained here for nearly five years after relocating for work, and had an excellent experience with the team. For beginners: the environment is welcoming with great instructors and zero pressure to compete/roll with folks above your skill level. I competed twice in five years and never felt pressure to do more than that (though competing is certainly encouraged). For advanced athletes: the gym is home to several current and former MMA fighters. Several of the guys have had fights in Bellator, One FC, and the UFC.For BJJ purists: several athletes have competed and performed well at IBJJF Worlds and the ADCC trials. You'll find really strong instruction and a jam-packed gym with tons of high-level talent to roll with. Really excellent experience training there.
Desi Reyes: My husband started training here about 2 years ago and has been BEGGING me to come try jiu-jitsu. As someone who has never done any sort of grappling, to say I was intimidated would be an understatement. Coach Danny and Coach Anthony were immediately welcoming and open to having someone as new as me in the gym to come train. The atmosphere and training environment cannot be matched. I’ve grown so much as a person and athlete since joining the DJJ family. There is no other place I want to continue my jiu-jitsu training except at DJJ. I’m grateful for this gym. I’m grateful for amazing coaches. I’m grateful for jiu-jitsu. ❤️
Cole Reed: Good gym
Mariarosa Phillips: All 3 of my boys come here, we’ve been with DJJ for 8 years. My oldest started at 5, he’s 13 now. This is where we started and this is where we will stay. Thanks to all the coaches here at DJJ.
Nay: I have 4 of my son's here and they all started at 5 years old. My oldest is now 13 and still going strong. I wouldn't take them anywhere else. Thanks Detroit Juijitsu for all of your hard work.
Demingus Coates: I came from another bjj school and I thought. My bjj was good so I thought.I got my butt handed to me, and it humbled me I didn't have any basics I didn't know anything I was a 3 stripe white belt from another school and was about to get my blue belt but found out I wasn't ready for my blue belt at all,and I was glad that I came to Detroit Jiu-jitsu Academy. Now I feel like I know and learning Jiu-jitsu thank you to all the staff and friends on working with me on my jiu-jitsu because before my jiu-jitsu sucked eggs 🥚 very bad thank you all again. I feel like I'm learning what I paid for.
MMAGamblingExpert: I started my grappling career at a very young age specifically folkstyle wrestling, transitioned to freestyle wrestling and thought I was invincible. I went to jiu jitsu gyms all across and was fairing well against theyre toughest guys. I can confidently say this is the #1 jiu-jitsu Academy I’ve ever been too. Professor Danny is a jiu-jitsu mastermind. I grappled with him once and he knew exactly what my weakness was. Everyone in there from white belt to black belt is legitimate. Khalil fadlallah is by far the best back taker in Michigan, I’ve taken personal classes with him and this guy is legit as they come. Highly recommend to anyone in the area to visit this gym. Actually for anyone who is serious about their jiu-jitsu journey. Love these guys soo much I’ve met some of the best people In there. Some of they’re purple belts would be black belts in 98% of other jiu-jitsu schools.
Juan Vazquez: Amazing academy ran by amazing people. Very highly skilled instructors and very welcoming atmosphere. Weather it’s Jiu jitsu or MMA I highly recommend DJJ and there other satellite locations .
G Lauren: Danny and the instructors care about each and every student. My 13 y/o started a year ago, and is also working toward his black belt in TKD. This is a learning curve for him as he has been learning a lot of kicking and striking for years now. He loves it and feels it gives him a greater advantage as far as self defense goes. It’s also a great workout, which I love…tires my kid right out because they work hard!
Dakota Anderson-Maul (Bop-It): The team here is always welcoming to new comers and others in the grappling community! If you compete they respect that by giving you complex rolls that you learn from.
Ryanm Gossett: Danny was very welcoming and pro cross-training. Anthony, who taught class has an admirable sense of humor and hospitality. They didn't charge me a mat fee, so I was also nice enough to buy a shirt and rashguard. Will definitely be back and be proud to rep the Detroit jiu-jitsu syndicate on my travels. Thanks guys!
Kingdom Builder: Awesome class! Professor Parker taught a great escape from the turtle position. Then got to roll with training partners at every level from white to black. I drove all the way from Arkansas to be here. Can't wait to come back when I can stay longer. Oss!
meadow Phillips: Started training here about 6 months ago after switching from another local gym. Best decision I ever made! Coach Danny and Coach Anthony REALLY care about their students and my Jiu Jitsu skills and knowledge have increased dramatically. DJJ for life!
Jarred Brooks: I’ve been to a lot of jiu jitsu gyms . This one is the best ! I’m a professional fighter have fought in ufc one pancrase rizin and Belator .
Toxic Skull Ranger: It’s a good place it helps you to fight good overall its good so yay bye
Abe Barlaskar: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI met the owner, Danny, at a competition a couple months ago. His students are professional, and he leads by example. He's a class act. Highly recommend him as an instructor and Detroit Jiu-Jitsu Academy for instruction.
Hysam Hammad: There are several reasons why you want this to be the school of choice for your BJJ needs; 1) The instructors are amazing. All of them are detailed in making sure you nail down the moves. The slightest move like having a thumb in a certain place will change your game. 2) the competition is very tough. You will never get better if you do not train with people that are better than you. DJJ has so many competitors all open to bettering their game. 3) Innovation. These guys are constantly chasing the newest innovations in the game. What worked yesterday might not work today, these guys are constantly upping that game. 4) the gym character is unsurpassed. These guys make learning jiu jitsu fun. Just check out some of the videos they put out. 5) The gym is just amazing. The mats are comfortable saving you from a ton of injuries that you don't need from practicing. Finally 6) the kids program is outstanding. My kids team usually dominate the tournaments and seeing each kid support the other is something that will translate into huge confidence for your kids.
craig odom: My son and I planned a trip to visit family in Detroit for Christmas 2021. I sent a email to Detroit Jiu-jitsu in November 2021, to see if they would let my 11 year old son train while we were in Detroit. They responded immediately, that they would love to host my son while visiting. When we first arrived to the gym, I was very impressed with how clean and organized the gym was. Coach Danny walked over to us and introduced himself, and took my son to the mat where the other kids were. After day one training was over one of the kids that my son rolled with came over to my son and shook his hand and said you are really good at jiu-jitsu. My son said that he likes the school, the kids and the coaches here. As a parent, that tells you alot about a school when your kid brags about it. I highly recommend Detroit jiu-jitsu to any parent that wants their kid to train in the sport of Jiu-jitsu. Thanks to coach Danny and staff for welcoming us with open arms. Awesome school.
Unknown Secret shopper: Positive:Quality
Nameer Hanna: The instructors and facility here are top notch. From start to finished I loved my experience at DJJ. Unfortunately had to move for work, and I will miss every second spent here. They hold you accountable and humble you, something we all need. I was new to jui jitsu when I joined and every instructor was willing to take extra time with me to ensure I understood what they were teaching. The sense of brotherhood between everyone involved is awesome too, everybody there wants to see their peers succeed and get better, which is hard to come by. I drove an hour each way just to be able to come here. If you’re looking to start jui jitsu or switch schools, look no further than DJJ.
Hamidul Islam: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueDefinitely one of the best bjj gyms in Michigan, friendly atmosphere and very welcome. Highly recommend.

Mash Gym Brazilian Jiu Jitsu: what do users think?
Demonte Strong: It was for my first ever kickboxing lesson. The instructors were nice and all of the moves were simple enough. He kept moving around checking on everyone and correcting whatever needed to be corrected. Overall, it felt welcoming, at the same time I could tell that I could really learn a lot of I were to stick to it.
Geoffrey Kahn: Excellent training, equally welcoming to both amateurs and those interested in fighting/competing. The coaches actively cultivate a great training environment. Everyone works hard but there are no toxic egos, bullies, etc. Or if there are, they don't last long. Wonderful people across the board, and top-notch training. Been going for 2 years and no plans to stop anytime soon.
Jason walker: The gym has friendly staff and pushes me to new limits and has everything needed to become the best fighter
Mel Russell: If you're someone looking for a bjj/fighting gym as a new martial artist, this may not the place for you. I visited this facility on two separate occasions. They were gracious enough to allow me a couple free trial classes, and thank goodness because I wouldn't personally invest too much stock and energy into going back. The first night I went to trial a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu class and was instructed on when to arrive and to wear workout clothes. Upon arrival I was greeted by some not so friendly looking faces. People who kind of just stared at me as I walked in the door and had to stammer through why I was there. Liability waiver was signed and I was shown where to go to change and meet the instructor back at. I was given a gi top to wear over my shorts to run through class in. The instructing for this class, Todd, was not super articulate or favorable for someone brand new to the art, and I was not shown a particularly attentive amount of separate instructing besides my partner, Leah, who ended up being the most helpful (as a fellow newer white belt) by the end of class I had walked off the mat to speak briefly with the instructor who was more concerned with telling me pricing instead of any kind of class follow up, then requested I give the gi top back there - where I took it off exposing just a sports bra underneath. Which is fine in itself, if I hadn't have felt so small otherwise. Fast forward a couple days, I wanted to give the kickboxing class a shot even knowing I'd not be going back for bjj. The kickboxing instructor, Marco ended up being super lighthearted, personable, and inviting for someone new. He gave me a sense of humbleness in what he did, which is what I look for in particular in an instructor for me. Unfortunately, I was greeted, again, by an unwelcoming front desk staff member who wouldn't acknowledge me until I hesitantly approached, and was still met with callousness. I give the gym overall two stars because the facility itself is marvelous, with a wide variety of options outside of bjj/kickboxing for fitness. This includes a full gym with Olympic weights, and a full upper training deck. The bathrooms were clean and modern as well. For someone who has trained in martial arts for 20 years, the subpar instructing (with the exception of Marco *thumbs up*) was okay for me - having knowledge of fundamentals and being very teachable. For someone who's new to any kind of martial art, though, I would not recommend.
Charlie Maxwell: Great facility. Clean and lots to chose from.
Moussa Hamka: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI thought i was going to die
Loyal Design: You can get seriously hurt here not for the weak
Kyle Berryman: If you have any interest in MMA or the benefits training for it provides you, this is the best, friendliest, and most accessible!
Linda Estes: Friendly environment. Great instructors. Great equipment. Patient while training new comers. My son Brian has Asperger's and needs to build confidence after being bullied in school all his life for being "different". I am well pleased with how they have embraced him. Todd is Amazing and Funny!
Malachi Chambers: I enjoyed beating the snot out of this little white boy
Betty Garey: Great facility and really friendly staff. High price but I honestly think that it results in the gym rarely being crowded and never being overcrowded.
Nathan W: Very cool gym. Took my daughter to the free class that they offer. She liked it but Jiu Jitsu really isn't a girly sport. She is only 6 years old. Only 2-3 girls and rest were boys although there was 1 girl there exact size of my daughter so it was funny. She enjoyed the class, but when I ask if she wants to go regularly she didn't seem excited about it. She likes gymnastics and girly activities.Pricing, in my opinion, is fantastic. You pay 1 time per month and that gets you unlimited classes (they do kids classes 3x a week). So if you took your kid(s) there 3x a week you would really get your moneys worth.
D'Lorean Bolade: Todd a 🤡. Simple as that. Read the other reviews about their experience with the owner.
Jay I: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueAwesome place to train and get in shape. Instructors are laid back and patient with newer people. The personal trainers are also very helpful
Nicholas Antonioli: Mash is an awesome gym no matter where you are on your martial arts journey.I’ve traveled and trained around the country and Mash is among the best gyms I’ve visited. Knowledgeable coaches, clean gym, good competition.Todd and his team (shout out to Karen) go above and beyond to help each member feel like a part of the family while providing an excellent atmosphere to push yourself and develop your skill set.
Brandon Guziatek: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueSuper friendly staff and other people who want to show me how to train and do things correctly. Everyone there gives a good vibe and it's also a legit mma gym which is what I was looking for. Also affordable
anthony Haddad: Critical:Communication,ProfessionalismTodd is a thief. I signed a contract for 3 months, and without my consent, when the contract ended, he withdrew 300 from my debit card. After contacting several times with the very professional lady up front, i am yet to get a call from Todd after almost 2 weeks. Absolutely disgusting.
Olivia Gresham: I do boxing training with Andre Sanders. I'm right handed but learning South Paw stance. He's great, personable, and will create custom training sessions for you
Rebekah Kash: Its my 3rd class and we signed-up for personal training. Doug is our teacher and he is amazing....
Donald Murphy: I've been going here for a month. The instructors are awesome. All of the members are really solid and friendly. If you are reading this and thinking about coming here, please do. If you are totally new to BJJ this is a very welcoming place. There are a really good variety of skill levels as well as a good variety of...well, peoples sizes. I always leave this gym feeling like I've learned a lot and bettered myself. See you on the mats.
Samuel Park: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValuePlenty of equipment and good owner. Great trainers. Many different fitness and combat options.
