I didnt know how to get exactly the right size replacement part, so I didnt get around to fixing it.Then I recently discovered Kites & Fun Things and so I took my kite to them.The staff were extremely helpful and took the time to measure the broken plastic part, worked with an aluminum part so it would fit, and now I have a working kite with a dar stronger connector!They also have an amazing selection of kitea and yard spinners. If you know a lady cyclist, they have the perfect present for her!

D V: I ordered parts from their web site which totaled 0.9 ounces. They charged me $6 for shipping! The parts arrived and were bigger than what they advertised. I notified them of their error and they admitted that their web site was incorrect. They offered a refund upon return of the parts. I already paid $6 for shipping and now they want me to pay shipping again, all because they mismarketed the parts. Be wary when ordering from this company!

Jennifer Ironside: This was a wonderful experience coming to Great Lakes Surf Shop. I drove an hour just to try on a wetsuit and Brian was so understanding, helpful and knowledgeable. He knew exactly what size wetsuit I should try on and what size Rashguard shirt. He answered all of our questions and offered up even more information. He was amazingl. We didn't buy a wetsuit for myself. However, we did end up purchasing 3 Rashguard shirts and the wetsuit cleaner/conditioner. I will recommend Great Lakes Surf Shop to anyone and everyone. Seth Lerner: Brain was the instructor and he went over the basics on the first day and how to fly with a training kite. Learning about the big kites safety features was very valuable as figuring out on my own would have been difficult and risky. Unfortunately, by the time we got to flying the big kites the wind started to die and the lesson ended. The second day was calm with no wind and Brian had to cancel. I was given a make up lesson, but the conditions weren't right until early October at Metro Beach Lake St. Clair. Dan was my instructor for the second lesson. We used a 9m kite and had plenty of wind. We started with how to properly launch the kite on land and moved to the lake. We went over basics such flying the kite in the power window, power dives to generate power, body dragging, controlling the kite with one hand, self rescue. After the basics, the lesson moved to using a board. I was able to get out of the water, but had trouble staying up on plane. Need more practice now. In general, the lessons are worth it as the kites are powerful and its important to know how to control them and use the safety release. Brain will honor a makeup lesson, just be sure to stay in contact with him and keep an eye out for wind conditions.

Gee Kury: Super helpful and friendly! I called ahead to ask if they had fins for my old wake board. I forget his name but the gentleman that answered he does have fins but I would need to bring the board in to check it out. I brought in the board and since my board was older he dug into his stash if odds and ends lol. He found fins that lined up to the holes in my board but I'd have to drill them out. He also told me that I wouldn't need to seal the holes since my board was not pvc or foam. I bought them, took them home, drilled out the holes, took it to the raft off and had a blast with the board! But continued to apologize for her mistake. I would never recommend anyone to go there. Save your time and money.

Just another Mopar build: Just bad experience went to get a part for my 3.3 motor which wasn’t in stock had them order it waited two weeks to find out it wasn’t even ordered. Had to order it myself got it in 4 days

First walked into Prop Shop back in 1983 while in the thick of the rc nitro boat hobby, and I can honestly say that Tom and Matt are the best. Very knowledgeable, and really fun to do business with. Met other enthusiasts there on Saturday mornings for some 'bench' racing.Just great people!

Owner and wife are rude and disrespectful.Bought a microscope there, upon getting home and opening the package I realized the software/driver installation CD was missing from package entirely. Couldn’t use microscope without CD.I had surgery the following day after purchasing the microscope so I was able to return to the store after 5days which is still within the return period.Owner denied return because package was “opened” I explained that I couldn’t possibly have known the cd was missing without opening it. Being that the cd was missing I was unable to use the microscope at all. Denied return. Was told I could contact manufacturer and deal with them.Called Celestron and they said their policy is to bring product back to store and get refund. Store and celestron then work it out between them since product was sold defective from beginning. Recommend shopping at any other hobby store than this one.

My son purchased a 3-D printer immediately out of the box It did not work!! They refused to put him in touch with someone that would resolve the issue. They continued to give my 12-year-old the runaround now that I have inquired as a parent, they are telling me to deal with the manufacturer. The item did not work out the box. Shame on you for bamboozling a child with a non working 3-D printer. We called Amazon and replaced the part. BUYERS BEWARE - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE Exists here!

Ms Lavender: In the past I had visited them with my scouts. And for things that the scout troops needed I'm glad they are still in the community they are really a pillar. But this time I went into see if I could take some hot wheel collectibles for them to buy. They are the nicest most honest place I've been to in a very very long time. Usually if I were to pawn something I would stay but I left my things there for a couple of hours I trusted them. They are good people from the beginning of answering the phone until the transaction was made. I've worked with other places that were rude on the phone or short in person like they're doing me a favor . But this place was exactly where I was led to go they are amazing and anybody should go there to purchase any goods there. I thought that such places did not exist but obviously they still do I'm glad they are in our community. If I could give them 10 Stars I would! Awesome

Hooked me up with some add-ons and spare parts. Took time to actually understand and explain things I was asking. He didn't pressure me. Didn't sell me what I didn't want or need. I found it refreshing actually. I'm just a novice in rc trucks, and the guys here made me feel comfortable. I wish I had caught their names. I will certainly be back.(4-18-23 about 6:30 pm)

Thomas Stevenson: Went there today to buy parts/batteries for my current car and buy a new car. The guy I dealt with today seemed like I was just bothering him from the moment I came in. Seemed like it was just more attitude with every question I had or part I wanted. Wasn't the customer service you would expect when you walk into a buisness looking to spend a thousand dollars. Ended up not getting anything and leaving. Went home and got online, was able to purchase the parts, batteries and car all with out the attitude or feeling like I was inconveniencing anyone.

Andrew Genthe: Hands-down, I just experienced the best customer experience I have all day. If not all week. I don’t know that much about RC cars. I was able to go in there and tell them what I was having a problem with and they were able to get me the parts I needed and explained to me how to replace them. Unlike in a lot of specialty shops if you don’t know what you’re talking about they get frustrated with you. That was not the case here I will definitely be back and make sure I tell everyone I know to stop here for all of their hobby needs.
