Pure Detroit Tours and Retail: what do users think?
Viv A.: I have lost count of how many tours I have taken. The guides are amazing. They really bring the history alive.
savitha b: Wish they were still open to do tours at the guardian building. Everyone who went on previous tours seemed to have had a good experience.
J.W. Johnson: Great store for all things Detroit. As of this writing it is temporary closed due to pandemic. When things get better please give them a visit. In the meantime hit up their website.
SEM John Biggs: After seeing and touring this architectural wonder their is no doubt that the Guardian building is one of Detoit's true treasures. The tour was very informative sharing much of the details of who, when and what materials went into this beautiful building as well as some of Detroit's other famous architectural masterpieces. On the retail end they had many T shirts with other items supporting Detroit along with other common impulse items.
Dylan Sharkey: Steve, who was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, gave a very enjoyable tour. Definitely one of my favorite experiences while visiting this amazing city.
Jeffrey Durbin: Great place for books on Detroit architecture and history.
David Nowak: Excellent tour. Learning about the city should always be this fun.

Pure Detroit Tours and Retail: what do users think?
Abigail Bird: If you're wondering whether it's worth going to the Fisher building for the free tour, it definitely is. We got lucky and our tour group was smaller. Our guide Jacob was friendly and fun. His passion for Detroit history and architecture really shine through when he's presenting.
Brandon Kleiman: Great tour!
Eliza Vertin: Amazing tour! Jacob is so entertaining and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Nicholas Batora: Purchased something from them online. Over two weeks and they didn't ship it to me nor did they reply to multiple emails. Pretty bummed by this because I thought they were a legit company.
Glen W.: I just have to give Jacob a huge thanks for a tour that was not just informative but entertaining as well. His detail gave a real insight to a building far to many take for granite.Great job Jacob, if you guide tours to other places please let us know.
Shawnee Hiller: I didn't know what to expect of the tour when friends asked us if we wanted to do it, as I'm not much of a history buff. It turned out to be an afternoon filled with Detroit history and gorgeous architectural piece of art!! A big Thanks to our knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide, Jacob!!! He really did a great job keeping us all interested.Onatrio, Canada
Matthew Herch: Jacob was our tour guide this past Saturday. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and funny. He has this tour down to a science and his energy and passion for the Fisher Building we're infectious. I highly recommend the tour to anyone interested in history, architecture, or Detroit in general.
Annie Ogletree: Wish they had more large sizes
Tom Wolfarth: Stumbled upon the tour with Jacob which was a treat adding to everything else we did on my 40th birthday. As a kid Born and Raised in South Detroit, who had to move away in my youth due to my family relocating, I love every opportunity to go back and learn about the city and my heritage. We went from the DIA for Van Gogh, to the Fisher Building and this tour, and then onto LCA for a Red Wings game. For me, the Fisher Building Tour was the best part of the day (after all the Wings only showed up for the 3rd!... that's OK, give them a few more seasons, eh?) and it's because of the passion Jacob had for the building and its history. 100 year old paintings are neat, but you don't get someone like Jacob talking about the stuff, even through the audio tours. This will be something I tell everyone about when I'm sticking up for Detroit out and about in the rest of the world...tldr: 10/10, best historical tour I've ever been a part of
Timothy Frye: If your planning on visiting Detroit, must see stunningly beautiful & a lot of rich history !!!
Matthew Dante: We had Jacob as our tour guide and we was excellent. He had a. Treasure trove of insight and unique stories. We learned so much. Highly recommended!
Lauren Weber: Attended the Fisher Building tour today and it was absolutely incredible. Wonderful event, lots of great facts, very neat way to see the building.
Christopher Crossen: Had a great and informative tour of the Fisher Building from Jake, our guide. He was interesting and provided lots of interesting facts about the beautiful the space. A nice sized group toured with us. Everyone was very happy. So much fun.
Detroit Slim: Excellent quality and stylish Detroit City clothing. Friendly and helpful customer service.
Carlette Ottman: Jacob gave us a very interesting tour. Great information about the majestic Fisher Building.
Ruben Cordoba: Beautiful little shop with plenty of mementos and history. But for me the tour took the cake. It was extremely insightful to hear the history of the fisher building and how it came to be such an important building to the city.I look forward to visiting again.
Lisa Weier: Chelsea at Pure Detroit helped me send out a gift. She went above and beyond with making that gift extra special! Chelsea was a pleasure to work with and has amazing customer service!! I highly recommend shopping here if you love Detroit like I do!! Thank you Chelsea - A+ experience!!
Kelley Kling Black: Pure Detroit's tour of the Fisher Building was a great way to take in the history of Detroit. Surrounded by the building's majestic architecture and sumptuous interior details, Jacob, our tour guide, shared interesting stories and in-depth details about this iconic building. The tour is about an hour and entertaining throughout. Recommend taking all your out of town visitors here or for locals interested in knowing more about our landmarks.
Will Behrick: Pure Detroit is a cool shop at the Fisher building where you can get made in Detroit items, or pretty much anything Detroit related; from Faygo and Vernor's to Detroit style pizza kits. They have books, clothing, hats and bags. They also host tours for the Fisher building, but I haven't been on one to comment. I'll definitely shop here again.
Jason Gibbs: This is the place to go if you're looking for Detroit merchandise or books about Detroit. A very cool store! We took the Fisher building tour and it was awesome. So much beautiful architecture and our guide Jacob did a great job sharing the history of the building. if you like history or architecture this is a must!
Justin Mosley: My wife asked for a purse from Pure Detroit, the purse is made out of seat belt fabric- pretty cool. She sent me a picture with the title of the purse. I typed it in found the purse and ordered it. After receiving a lighter shade I reached out to the customer service email. I honestly expected to just receive a generic apology. Chelsea was great immediate response, it was pretty late in the day as well. She had me send the purse back and had another one made in a darker shade! My wife loves it thank you! FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Spirit Halloween: what do users think?
Lynne L: Except for the friendly cashier the staff is horrible. Manager is a bullie. I use to love going here not anymore. I really hope a different better Halloween store will open up.
Ashley Papo: Very poor customer service. Love spirit Halloween but, I'll never forget the rude staff there.
Patch Daddy: Fun & has the best selections others don't.
hailey brady: Cheap quality but oh well who cares, have to buy anyway
Jason Legend: Always a great place to go just to get away from real life for a few
vincent shaw: Go early to go your stuff when they sell out of something they don't reorder but they did have a outfit and it was loved by everyone at the party
John Potter: Place was ok just a bit of a mess
Cristin Buehrle: Had everything we needed great workers
Varry Doyle: Good place for props and costumes
Chuck Cheek: Good Halloween store
Tristan Ryder Scamp: Love how they display their decor. Items are cheap and expensive, they have variety but not much.
Ryan Westra: Way too commercialized, would love to see some small businesses benefit from this place.
iitssam: Saga senior
jackie reaume: Best costumes and Halloween accessories available at reasonable prices. Fun just walking around store.
Nicole Buczkowski21: Love it!!!!!!!😍
Theresa Roberts: Good place to shop for costumes
Alice R: No store sign up yet, but it's right next door to Kroger .This store was a lot bigger than I was before expecting it to be,and had a lot of Halloween costume essentials. Sadly not enough green items of clothing for costume.
Jamie Saylor: The most stocked I've seen a spirit halloween so far. Great friendly staff. This years selections are amazing!
Matthew Truett: After visiting 17 different locations and 10 different locations in just 2 days, this was our FAVORITE Spirit Halloween! They had an animatronic in every location throughout the store and everything was in perfect working order. The location was perfect size and the store was stocked with everything! We arrived later in the evening on a Thursday and it was a little crowded, but everyone was having fun with the animatronics and shopping, which is what Spirit is all about! My only disappointment was that the Spirit Halloween sign was not on the front of the building... we like to take a picture outside of every location with our masks and couldn't. After visiting 17 different locations... and 2 other stores the next day while doing reviews, I feel like many locations are becoming a bit of a letdown. This is purely on Spirit Halloween as a company and not any particular location... but how locations are supplied, managed and regulated. We planned on taking fall road trips to several different states to visit different Spirits, but too many stores have sold floor displays or have displays not working with minimal inventory. The experience will bring consumers in and give consumers a better opportunity to spend more money! If I knew every Spirit we walked into had working animatronics at every location, we would totally continue our journey, but after visiting too many locations without the 'experience', it's not worth all the extra trips. I'm still going to review several more locations and we'll visit a few more while on our October vacation, but we're not going out of our way to see an additional locations. Spirit as a company needs to consider the investment of having dedicated 'floor display only in working condition' animatronics to maintain the experience. I hope this review helps Spirit Halloween as a company and the locations with the staff that wants to be busy and successful. Again, Spirit Halloween Canton MI was the best and definitely set the bar high! Keep up the great work at maintaining the best Spirit Halloween!
L C: They close everyday at 9:00pm, but today the manager said we are closing at 8:30pm just for today. He was extremely mean , and said I couldn't buy the things in my hand since it was 8:23pm . I am in shocked of how mean he was . At 8:10pm they where unplugging all the displays, and a child got upset he yelled at them saying oh well we're closing time for you to leave in a very mean tone almost knocking right into the 3 year old child. I understand employees want to go home, and have things going on in there personal lives, but I really don't think that manager should of been so unprofessional, and just out right nasty. I use to love going to spirit thought highly of it, but there really going down hill, and I don't anymore. Another customer was talking to me in the parking lot, and said she could not believe how well I and herself kept our cool, because that manager was just so horrible. I really hope he learns better how to react and treat people. This was the worse customer service I have ever seen. I ended up just going right nextdoor to home Depot I recommend going to see there Halloween decorations instead there way better anyways.
Kendra F: I know it's not there fault, but I've been looking at this place on Google for the last three days to come up here. They are closed, there is no Spirit Halloween here right now(07/17/22) Google is wrong they did not update the information.

Peacock Room: what do users think?
Anna Akerman: This is an upscale trendy boutique located on the first floor of the Fisher building in Detroit, Michigan. They had a very nice assortment of clothes, hats, jewelry and handbags. The prices were surprisingly affordable, I was able to pick up three of these classy, cute little friendship bracelets for less than $7. I got a great souvenir of my trip and matching bracelets for my two sisters for $22. Staff were very friendly.
J R F: To be honest, I haven’t been in what is now The Peacock Room in about 55 years, but I still have fond memories of this lovely place. My mother was a model for Julie’s Dress Shop (the predecessor of The Peacock Room) in the late ‘50s and early ‘60s, and I remember going there with her many times as a child. (I still have an original gift box from the store- see photo; I wish I still had some of my mom’s beautiful original clothes/hats/accessories from there too!) In fact, my parents named me Julie, partly in honor of the store and partly in honor of Julie Andrews. My parents were big fans of Broadway musicals and we saw many shows at the glorious Fisher Theater. At any rate, I am so glad to see that you have revived the reputation and beauty of this lovely shop. It looks just like I remember it from the ‘60s. ❤️
Angela Celeste May: I always have a wonderful experience at the Peacock Room! This time I visited the store (a couple days ago on Sunday December 11) inside the Park Shelton because I needed a vintage 1920's Harlem Renaissance dress for a gala on Saturday December 17. There was a nice selection in different styles and colors that fit well within the amount that I wanted to spend. In fact, I ended up purchasing my silver glittery dress, jeweled headband with feather, and a gorgeous silver and black lacy stole all for just under $200. And Sarah (not sure if this is the correct spelling, maybe Sara) was wonderful! She was helpful, gave advice based on fit, my event, and the look I was going for, and so patient. Even as closing time arrived she wanted to make sure I had what I was looking for.The Peacock Room is a class act not just in their amazing merchandise, but in the top notch customer care!P.S. My gloves (which matched perfectly!) were either my grandmother's or my great aunt's from Crowley's department store, my earrings were my mom's, and my shoes, pearls, and bracelets were in my closet.
Kate MacEwen: Amazing customer service along with the cutest clothing! Used to love going in person when I worked in Detroit but now it's far more difficult to get to the city due to travel. The owner is amazing and will ship items I see posted on Social Media. Not only do you get a super quick response, you'll get expert advice in selecting the correct sizes. Highly recommend!
Susan Marie: A true gem of a boutique.
Jacqueline Phillips: Check out the Peacock room for the most beautiful vintage inspired and true vintage pieces. From dresses, to coats, to hats and gloves, they have it all to help you step out in style. 😍
E. B. Snodgrass: I have been to both locations and this is the smaller of the two. More formals and fancy dresses than the other. Same wonderful service.
Amber Sitko: They always have the best dresses and jewelry
Return To Nature: Cute vintage clothing, boutique pricing.
Susan Steigerwalt: Friendly staff fashionable clothes reasonable prices
Al Declercq: Fun store
Sara Zalewski: I was in the market for a Great Gatsby-like dress for New Year's Eve and I remembered browsing this place when I was at the Fisher Theatre before so decided to try here. What an excellent dress shop. They had all the right dresses and accessories (they also have dresses from other eras). The staff was the most helpful collection of ladies I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with in a retail setting. Sarah, I believe was her name, went above and beyond helping me find the right dress with the right fit and the perfect matching headband. I cannot thank her enough. Highly recommend trying them for adorably unique vintage clothing at reasonable prices!
Nina Kraft: Fantastic store. Loved basically everything I looked at. Good quality vintage items. Staff was wonderful and very polite.
S: There is truly no other place like The Peacock Room. It truly feels like you've entered another time. The cleverly curated gifts, absolutely stunning jewelry selection, and breathtaking gowns are beyond compare. So happy this gem exists. And the Fisher location is like a palace! Retail is special again!
Ericka Brantley: It's like going into Macy's or TJ Maxx. It's small range of material, clothing, and accessories in a very tiny place! But it's a good place for accessories kind of old-fashioned. But good quality.
Bebra Washington: Rachael owner, has no respect for customer. The store made an error, I never noticed the error the store contacts me by mail. I called to rectifyThe next day Rachael made a Police report accusing me of Retail Fraud
Latimer: An elegant boutique fit to satisfy all occasions. The accessories are amazing as well, not to mention the personal assistance creating a magnificent visit!
Natalie Romaniuk: Really enjoyed this fancy, vintage clothing store located inside the Fisher Building. There are some expensive overpriced items, however, you can find cheaper, good quality items here. The jewelry and clothing items are fun to peruse through, including opera glasses that mimic the times when the Fisher Building theatre was budding with high class socialites
Carl Coker: Ladys will love this shop
Tracie Carlin: Loved this store and they treated my daughter like a princess. Only would like a website to go to to buy stuff from.
Barbara Davies: Merchandise is slightly quirky, but in a good way. Can't wait to see Fisher Building location.
