Avinash Ramkissoon: Rick is a master of his craft, and he has been at this location for over 40 years. I trust him with my hair for all my major events like weddings, graduation, etc. and have been going to him for 4 years now. The best part is he provides home made Italian biscuits for his clients after a cut. Great conversations, great biscotti, great haircuts.

Brad Wesley: Rick Lorelli is backbone of the 1001 Woodward Building. If you need an excellent haircut and a quick shave before having a donnybrook with the homeless of Griswold and Woodward, take yourself to Men's Quarters. Rick is a man of the people and will literally give you the shirt off his back to go with a fresh side part. One time a man started causing a scene in front of Bellacino's, and made most of the customers uncomfortable. Rick literally paused the haircut of the patron, walked outside of the shop in a calm manner and shouted, "let my people go!" and proceeded to return to the shop and finished the cut. The disruptive man went back to taking a nap on the edge of the riverfront and never returned to bother a Bellacino's patron again. This made me a customer for life. Viva Rick!

So now I drive downtown get a haircut and eat across the street at Lafayette Coney Island. Perfect day. My only disappointment is I have yet to collect the free haircut that he offers to all customers when the Lions win the Super Bowl. Maybe next year.

Sam, Vince, and Sterling are always highlights when I come in and I truly enjoy catching up with them during every visit.I would highly recommend getting a cut from Sterling. He always gives me a great cut that has me looking and feeling great! He also takes an interest in my life and I enjoy our conversations so much that I look forward to coming into the barbershop for those as well as the cut.I would highly recommend making a visit over here. Kurt Hoppe: Wow. Had high expectations based on the other reviews. Online listing said it was open until 6pm. I drove by, saw the "open" sign in the window, parked, paid for parking, and headed in. Sign at base of stairs said 12pm-6pm on Saturdays. It was 4:45pm.I could hear the music blasting as I walked upstairs. I opened the door and walked in. The one young guy inside told me he was closed. I pointed out the open sign, and the "6pm" posted downstairs and online. He said they were changing hours and he had closed at 4pm. He asked how he could help me?! I said that I had just moved to town and was looking for a new barber. I mentioned I had paid to park. He said he was closed and turned back to his music listening.Disappointing. I doubt he was the owner.Epilogue: I've been going to Rick at nearby Men's Quarters now for 6 years and am very happy.

I don't know if the other barbers are more familiar with English than his isBut even if you can't speak a lick of Spanish, if you give the barber a photo of what you want done, I'm sure s/he will get it perfect for youI just wish they took cards because it's a hassle to make sure you have the right amount of cash for the $20 cut plus the tip
