Man, that was great service, and the Lantern is so bright. Thank you Moosejaw!10/1/20Just got back from camping in Hocking Hills,OH. This lantern is Awesome! Very bright! Kept it on dim during the evening if we had to get up in the middle of the night. Used it for two evenings, and it still has 4 bars of energy! Oh yeahhhh! A keeper!

Abraham Pilkington: I needed a 3lt CamelBak bladder, they only had 2lt, I decided it was probably best to not have the extra 1lt and I got it. The only downside was they didn’t have the cleaning/drying kit. If you’re going to carry CamelBak carry the supplies designed for cleaning them too. They didn’t even have a place for them, like they’d never even considered carrying them. Silliness.
Solomon Gaut: Did not feel welcomed in the store—spent 5-10 minutes looking around and was never asked if I needed help. Would not recommend shopping at this location.

Marcus Atlantis: Today 4/27 at 12:12pm i was ejected from the Grosse Pointe store on Kercheval. With zero customers on the premises which seems often as of late, i was shopping in store with a coffee in my hand. When an employee “Courtney” (last name left out) and asked me to put up my mask in between sips. She was 25’ away from me at desk when approached. I responded with “ no one is in the store so no” then your going to have to leave. Great sales tactic, great service. Care to share you sales to date, with us Moosejaw? Keep your overpriced products.

F: WARNING: COVID-19 DRIVE-THRU TESTING DONE NEXT DOOR @CVS.Not only will your chance of infection increase, but so will your employees. CVS employees & customers are now at MUCH higher risk due to their decision to be a testing facility for COVID. Their customers & employees will shop in the area, get lunch in the area & continue to increase overall chances of spreading it..CVS will probably get about 30-50 infected people coming thru their drive thru EACH DAY. They perform the test in the car, takes about 10min. That’s 900-1500 infected people EACH MONTH coming in this area..You don’t have to be a doctor to figure this out. Chances of infection in this area will increase..WHY would CVS put all of us and their employees in danger when 95% of their employees are NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS!?!?.This is not the place for highly infectious disease testing to be done. They are CVS, NOT A HOSPITAL or a MEDICAL FACILITY! They’re compromising the entire community surrounding their store.Take care, be safe -

Amelia Ritter: Recently did the architecture tour with Chris and it was great! Even on a gloomy Sunday afternoon, we enjoyed the tour and the time flew by. We got about 9 miles in on our 3 hour tour and could’ve gone longer. Chris was knowledgeable and kept it fun and exciting, and Tara ensured we were safe in the road and no one was getting left behind at any lights. They do a great job!

Laurie McLachlan: I've lived downtown for several years and never noticed this shop. While there are MoGo racks of rental bikes around the city, I find them incredibly heavy and uncomfortable to ride. This shop rents bikes right along the riverwalk near the Merry-Go-Round.I went there to buy a bike today. They did not have a big selection, but it only takes one right? I love my new cruiser, and they were kind enough to assemble it within 2 hours. This is a local shop with kind people. I highly recommend it!

Jeff Duperon: I had booked 2 days before the tour and then found I had to cancel due to the chaos in the airline industry causing my flight to be significantly delayed. I let them know as soon as I knew (the night before). They would not even entertain transferring my payment to a future tour giving a pat BS answer of having to pre-arrange the guide for the tour that already had 8 participants and was not likely to sell out because I booked the tour 2 days before the tour. They got this money, but will never get another dollar from me.

Greg Moots: The tour that they offer on automotive heritage lead by Mike Darga was excellent. The bike shop staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and found a specialized part that allows us to mount a bike rack where we didn't think we could.

Rich, Doug, and Nick all worked hard to get my husband's fixed gear bike back into riding shape and helped me with picking out a new, more rideable, lighter weight bike for myself.When I wondered aloud what to do with my old beloved bike (a step through 3 speed Raleigh from the 70s) Rich said he could fix it up and get it to someone dealing with homelessness. What a way to give back and support the community in which we live!I googled the new bike before I bought it- there was no markup on the cost, and it had great reviews. They let me test ride it and got it all set up for me too before I took it home. Plus, it comes with a year of tuneups at no cost. A+ for sure.

Rochelle Bono: I got my bicycle from this shop in 2019. They've been helpful and up front about details involving repairs & parts. They have done repairs when other shops could not or would not. Most recently, Doug got the job done within a week even though he was swamped & had to order parts. This shop is in the heart of a bicycle inclusive community so they are always busy. It's a tiny place & doesn't have separate rooms for repairs and retail. The guys are pretty nice but they are also very busy so they do not teach repairs as they don't have the time nor space. The reason I gave only 4 stars is because it's a super cramped area and every time I walk in I feel like there's going to be a domino effect of bicycles falling over. But overall I've had positive experiences there.
Zvoch: Brought in 70s schwinn with some issues with the gear system. They were able to fix my problem in about 10 minutes at a very fair price. Definitely will be back for any repairs/maintenance

They did a great job, were fast and reasonably priced, and we chatted a little, and they helped me make sure the fit was good on the fork and seat post before leaving without any extra charge. Not a "pro" bike fit but great service!And I don't know what's up with the other reviews hating on the dogs. I liked the dogs, they're very friendly and well behaved! They don't jump on you or anything.

I took my kid to the shop to pick up the bike, and they are always so awesome with my kid. Jon, the owner, was very busy, but still took time to talk to my kid. Very reasonably priced as well! You know they are good guys when people are constantly coming in to say hi. One added bonus, Jon had his two dogs in the shop, and we loved getting to pet and play with them!

Kate: A great experience all around! Had a vintage bike in need of a major tune up. Took it to a shop in Detroit who ghosted me for 3 months only to say it wasn't fixable. A friend referred me to the Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop and they got me fixed up and riding the SAME day! Price was well below what I expected too. John, Doug, and Eric gave the best customer service - didn't upsell me or make me feel dumb for not being an avid rider. Plus the shop dogs were super sweet and friendly! Will 100% be back!

First I shopped the website and looked at some nice products and a nice site... I want to be clear my intention is not to be rude or disrespectful because I really wanted to like the shop but when I entered the only greeting I received was from 2 super friendly dogs and a random hey from the background.... I walked around and saw a selection of random bikes 🚲 but i didn’t see anything from the website... after looking around I did see some staff in a corner box area but they seemed preoccupied and since there was no welcoming assistance I decided to just leave .... again I thought it seemed like a cool place but i haven’t owned a bike in 30 years so I felt lost not knowing what to look at ... partly my fault for not asking for help I admit but coming from the suburbs I was not familiar with this atmosphere ... Dan Gilbert generously unloaded 750,000 in gift cards on Greektown’s employees and I hope you guys can scoop up some of that business...Again just wanted to share my experience with you and best wishes....

cellblockearth: I picked up an E-Sparrow electric bike from them recently. $1100 is actually reasonable considering similar bikes start at $1500. Great bike. 1 gear so less stuff to go wrong. Peddle assist is really cool plus there’s a throttle switch to get you up to full speed. It’s a little bumpy because there is no front shock but who cares? They had 5 in stock but they can order you the style you want. Cool accessories. Cool location. Cool Detroit local business. They can work on them on site & everything is assembled in Detroit. Get one in black! It’s what Bruce Wayne would do!

Tom McGinn: I ordered a Chromally Cortello 15 weeks ago, June 8th. I see people who ordered their bikes after mine and they got their bike. I received a grand total of 2 e-mails from the company, one after 6 weeks, another 6 weeks ago. I understand there is a pandemic, but this is ridiculous. I called customer service to cancel and with no apology or even a comment about how long it has been, they just cancelled the order. I will purchase and American made bike next season, but not from Detroit Bicycles. Very disappointed.

I'm a tall guy and Naheem explained why I should get an extra large bike he said "it'll change your life!" Its been about 2 weeks and I have to admit. He was right. Great service! Great bikes!
Joshua Ditton: Took my neglected Detroit Bike to a different shop and they wanted an outrageous amount of money for repairs so brought it here and they got it road-worthy again for a fraction of the original estimate at another place. Scott (I believe that was his name) was phenomenal! I brought my bike in on a Friday and picked it up the next Wednesday so I was super pleased with the speed of the repair as well.

ruth armstrong: I just ordered a bike for myself and my fiance. I am super indecisive and honestly, this is my 1st new bike ever and I haven't ridden in years. I had so many questions. Amanda was not only informative and patient, but super fun to work with over the phone. She helped me decide on a bike I'm beyond giddy for, even more than I thought I would be!!! In less than 24 hrs Zach, Amanda, and Brandon all helped me and were all excellent. As a retail and brand manager of years, this staff are the kind of people any company would be lucky and proud to have. It's apparent there is a lot of passion and it shows. I can't wait to show off my bike soon!!! Thank you!!!
Zayd A.: Ordered the Type-A and it came with brakes that were too tight and kept messing up changing into and out of 1st gear. Took it to the shop and the guy tried fixing it and helped with the brake issue but couldn't with the gear issue. With no hesitation he helped me exchange it with a floor model and honestly was such a nice dude and never once try to shift blame on me for the faulty product. Tried the new one and it works perfectly. Was so ready to right this place off as an over hyped boutique brand but the service was awesome and the bike is such a great looking one at that! 5/5 happy I gave them my money.

He said that the prices have raised $10 on the top but still charged me $68 for the tank top when the store had the wrong price on it.

Hailey Dieringer: If I could rate zero stars I would. I went into lulu to exchange a pair of wunder under leggings as I had purchased the wrong size. While I was in there I had brought a pair of Align leggings that i purchased last year (July, 2020) for an employee to look at as they are pilling quite badly and are covered. The employee who was helping me was very rude. I am a healthcare worker and receive the 15% off discount the company offers. She told me she did not know why I was receiving the discount and that I am not supposed to, even though on their website it states that healthcare workers qualify for the discount. Then, she proceeded to tell me that there is nothing she can do about my leggings because they were purchased in 2019 after looking at a tag that had nothing on it. She asked for my phone number to look up my account to dee when the leggings were purchased and never looked at the purchase date. She then told me that the Align leggings material is not good quality and I should have known about the material and that I should purchase a pilling machine for $20 on amazon. Not only did I purchase these leggings during quarantine in July of 2020, she was very rude about it all. I'm not sure if she was a manager as she was not wearing any Lululemon clothing however, she was not very nice and did not handle the situation well.
