Ananda Ami: in love.I been going here for almost 2 months and it just feels so familiar and new and exciting every visit. I have improved in my vocals so much thanks to my teacher Sherry! she's so enthusiastic, kind, passionate, and educated on her crafts. I am someone with HUGE anxiety but I am telling you coming here you will not feel that sense. I've already improved so much it's honestly scary. Sad that it's once a week and 30 minute sessions but that's totally acceptable and appropriate but it's honestly so dope you'd wanna be here 24/7 cause you learn and have fun at the same time. Covid-19 protocols are in place and safe staff are vaccinated and wear masks. While singing with Sherry we both maintain distance as much as possible and wear clear face shields they have plenty provided as well due to being able to see vocal technique and to hear clearly) so that is not a worry. Not to mention it is a clean space and is affordable for families. I love it here3
Megan Mccarthy: My son has been going to the Detroit School of Rock and Pop since he was 7 years old. He is now a senior in high school and an incredible musician and singer as a result of the amazing jobsHis teachers and mentors did at DSRP.His band has played all over the city and he’s experienced live broadcasts and wonderful events full of interesting people. The support he received through this program not only helped him grow artistically, but as a person as well. Shout out to Julie, Rocco, Jason, and Sherry for helping to guide Cole in his musical career. He has loved every minute of it and we have too.God bless this awesome school!!!

Melissa Keagle: We participated in the Big Kid Music Together class and it allowed our daughter to enter the world of music with confidence. Through experiencing concepts such as tempo, rhythm, and improvisation, the class helped prepare her for the structure and skills needed for piano playing.The introduction to music concepts was key, but it also opened the door to the creative output of making music. She now very much enjoys playing piano and making music her own.
Sweet ViolaChick: Great place to work at as a teacher, and wonderful atmosphere for clients of all ages to learn. The owner is awesome, and staff here at the front desk are exceptionally accommodating in every situation. I highly recommend working here and/or getting music lessons!

M E: My son took guitar lessons here from Dave. He absolutely loved it. Had to stop for school sports but can’t wait to return this fall!!! Highly recommend this place for any music lessons. Very nice and knowledgeable staff/teachers.
Rachel Klingelhofer: My two children and I *all* take lessons here and it has been such a gift to our family. My daughter started with drums and my son with violin (though he has now switched to voice). Sitting there in the lobby each week and hearing students and their instructors learning and enjoying music, I was motivated to finally try guitar lessons, which I have always wanted to do. Now we all share this commitment to music... We play together at home, talk about our joys and frustrations with our instruments, and even performed together at the coffee house recital (a moment we'll all remember forever). The warm atmosphere at DSM and the way the instructors are understanding of kids, families, and the ebbs and flows of life has made it possible for a very busy family to find space for making music in their lives, and we are eternally grateful. If it had felt like the "factory" that other lessons can feel like, I'm not sure I ever would have felt motivated to try this with my children and stay committed to it. But it feels like joining a creative, supportive, friendly community. I can't believe we ever *weren't* doing this.

Evelyn Thomas: Music is no joke for me, as it is something I love from all my heart & soul. A friend of mine who is an ex-student of Maestro Goslin, told me about him and man, I am so damn loving the encouragement and finding it all creative and super fun. I recommend him to everyone who lives & breathes music. Last but not the least, the affordable fees can’t be beat.
Sofi Mack: An extremely talented pianist with effective teaching method. He adjusts the lessons to the level of instruction as per one’s experience with music. Apart from technique, he helps to work on theory, regular practicing and creating repertoire. I am impressed with his encouraging teaching style and positive aura.

Shine Chisholm: Up until a couple of weeks ago, I would have held your hand skipping to take you to registration. Unfortunately, the school's bullying policy is pro.Our daughter had almost four wonderful years here, but when a kid got mean and his parent got creepy, they put the onus on me to keep my daughter safe. She was effectively punished for being bullied.
D Johnson: The method and philosophy of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki is alive and active at this school. SRO continues to produce accomplished musicians with noble hearts. I have two children in the program (both began their study at age two - now seven and ten) and the results speak for themselves. Every child can learn to play an instrument.
