P&A Scholars Beauty School: what do users think?
Cassandra Mcgee: One star is all this school deserves and ONLY because the instructors are good do I leave 1 start. The most unprofessional, disorganized, lack of supplies but plenty of roaches school I have ever been to!! Mrs.Monet pays out of pocket for supplies for the manicuring class to have what they need to learn. The administrative department ( with the exception of Ms.Janae) is SUPER DISORGANIZED. Don't go to school here. You'll never get the supplies your tuition paid for.UPDATE APRIL28- since P&A has time today to kick out generic responses to students who have negative comments about the school.First of all- the youmatter email was never in service for students to use when we went to file concerns. Maybe it couldn't work in the building because the administrator responsible for paying the internet bill kept forgetting to pay it for 3 weeks straight. How is a school of higher education supposed to function without internet? But with the lack of other supplies needed to learn being surprised by this I should not be on this. Teachers get reprimanded for photo copying learning materials for student. They wouldn't have to photo copy whole chapters of books of textbooks were not being held hostage for up to 10 weeks past class starting by administration. Everything is forever on back order for the school like yall order the stuff from Wish!! The lack of organization in this school make the worst DPS school look like Harvard or Yale!! Hell yall can't even keep enough hot water in the building for major events!! The few teacher that do stay only stay because they love their students. Oh yeah why do administrators kick some students out for speaking up against the BS here?I SAID WHAT I SAID! NO ASSUMPTIONS JUST FACTS !
Marshawn Hunt: Horrible Poor Choice Of School If Looking For Proper Education. The Owners kids Can Come Get Serviced No Matter The Type Of Time Or Day And For F R E E❗️❗️ But Students Went From Free To 1 0 D O L L A R S❗️❗️❗️To Most Recently Half off he Services Performed. Staff Smoking Cigarettes In The Back Room, Financial Aid Is A Scam Raising Hours Now To Release Students Checks. No Lessons Are Being Taught To The Students. Teachers Know And Doesn’t Care Which’s Why The State Board Turn Out Rate Is Horrible. They Have Eddie Here Cleaning Up And Doesn’t Pay Him. Staff Makes Him Work Like He’s A Slave.
antoinette ce: I’m a new student so I can’t really leave a full review. What I will say is that my instructors were very welcoming. I still have a lot to learn. Your experience is what you make it. Choose positivity and what’s around you won’t really matter!
M Nelson: Pre-Core class was amazing
Daizha Walton: I just finished pre-core and so far I have enjoyed the experience.
Amirra Parrish: I just started and so far I can say the pre core class was amazing there are things that have me nervous but only time can tell
shauna bridges: I am currently attending P&A scholars and when I tell y’all this school is amazing , they are the best. While in high school I never liked taking test it was test hard for me , but now I love coming to P&A everyday and I passed all my test , they make sure u get the knowledge u need to become successful. Staff is great and friendly. They welcome u and make u feel comfortable
Elisha Turner: Hey you guys I’m actually a current student attending P&A beauty school and I have to say we’re just not a school we’re family and the instructors try their best to help us any way they can every single day I love that we can come together and help each other succeed in thing we fall short on
Breanna Croff: Only reason you see 5 stars is because students are rewarded for good(FAKE) reviews!! I was 400 hours in and was forced to leave because I did not receive the proper education.Nor did I receive a KIT after being there for 4 MONTHS.They charged me full price for the course and I haven’t received anything that was supposed to be included in the tuition cost.Very unprofessional!!!!! The school is ran by 1 instructor who fails to do her job correctly. They argue all day, instructors get fired left and right, students stop showing up daily because of similar reasons.I spent 90% of my time sitting in a chair doing NOTHING!! I was doing clients before I was authorized to because they were short handed. They had me working on hair when I had no clue what to do.I didn’t learn how to properly shampoo until I was forced to do a client and they briefly explained it so I could get the job done. Not to mention I was using my own products because they did not have the tools to complete a basic hair style.DONOT!!!! Waste your money or time attending This program. All FALSE advertising just to get you in there. They lose the sign in sheet and refuse to give you an update of your hours. I could go on and on but I’d run out if space.Don’t waste your time here do yourself a favor and choose a different school
Whitney Butts: It was super unprofessional when I went there. The staff was always changing. Some had terrible attitudes, the supplies were lacking big time, our kits came late and they were the most basic of kits.. And now that I'm trying to get in contact with someone at the school about my transcript, either no one will answer the phone, the phone automatically hangs up or the building is closed. My entore experience with P&A past and present is just unprofessional.
Tiff M.: Manicure all the way! Everyone is awesome Ms. Angie, Mrs. A my instructor along with my step Instructor Mrs. Monet taught me a lot in a little bit of time. I have witnessed that most of all of the Instructors and students are great.
Tyra: Hello this is the last day of week 1 preview and I love the instructors ms.A ,mrs.Anna and the rest of the instructors. I learned so many new things just in one week and looking forward to learning a lot more from these wonderful instructors. Glad Iam able to attend this beauty school…
Jasmine Bradley: First week of pre-core was great! I learned about so many things that I didn’t know about. I feel like I’ve been given more motivation. Mrs. Aquila and Ms. Angie are amazing instructors and learning from them is a blessing.
BRANDY JOHNSON: P & A scholars is a great school!!! I just started in the manicuring program, and I love everything!!! I love my instructor (Mrs.Aquila) my time I spend in the course, and Mrs. Anna is both motivational and inspiring. Everyone here is helpful and nice, I can’t wait to GRADUATE!!!
Alante Beard: I am a student at P&A Scholars and i love how Professional the teachers ans they are fun an Inspirational they are.
Indya Murphy: The first week of pre-core was really good. Everybody have good energy and very understanding. Have uplifting people and videos to watch they really made it feel like home. Like we are a family. Everybody was welcoming with open arms I really liked Mrs. A and Ms.Angie was very cool and she related to us so much. It was all around a good first week.
Samya Carter: P&A is a very interesting and wonderful school to attend if you plan to join the hair industry The Great instructor ms.A and of course mrs.Anna is my two favorite. So far so good. And I’m excited about my future.
Shannon Moore: The 1st week of Pre-Core was very interesting. It allowed the new students to get to know the instructors and build rapport with classmates. Mrs. Aquila has been great with explaining everything in depth!
Euzetta Daniel: If I could give 0 stars I would. I was going to keep it cool until graduation but I’m actually pretty fed up with this school and the unprofessional staff/students which I will go into detail about in the coming weeks. First and foremost, I want people to know most of the reviews on here are complete lies which is very on brand for the school. In order to receive a free tshirt (which you need because you only receive 2 uniforms while you’re there) , you have to leave a review or buy one. So students leave nice reviews to get a shirt because no wants to wear the same thing 5 days a week or have to wash it 5 times a week. Do better for yourself and choose a better school.
Robin Bradshaw: The only reason you will see good reviews is because students were given free shirts...This is a horrible place to attend as far as Manicuring goes...My daughter was very. Passionate about Manicuring until attending here...It is sad when people of color treat their own in such a way that it damages ones enthusiasm about their career choice. I have reached out to the owners multiple times and no response .It is disturbing that most of the time they had no instruction. And was not being properly prepared for the State Board Exam. That is the MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE CLASS.The main concern of the owners was to receive 8000 dollars for what?. Students need to wise up and Sue them for this and have this establishment closed down due to so many factors..Most importantly not providing fundamental skills necessary to succeed .. Not providing the necessary and proper tools in their kits.Overall disservice to the students...I would not recommend this place at all. Sad sad sad
Angelique Stewart: Not Just A Cosmetology School 🏫We Are A family 🔐 Training on Social and professional settings. Appreciate being apart of this legacy and business 💯 Can’t wait to Graduate 👩‍🎓 Start A new Chapter in my life with the support of teachers 👩‍🏫Ms. A not just the best teacher I ever had But a wonderful mentor . P & A is a school that is here to help generations to come ✨

Dymond Designs Beauty School: what do users think?
Cassandra Cannon: When I say I had my best time here! I had a time! I came to DDBS to refresh my knowledge in Manicuring. After being certified for 16 years it was a BLISSFUL feeling! I felt as if I was back in my High School program, I loved the discipline and support from the staff and the relationships I’ve built with the students. I can’t wait to return for my Manicuring Instructor Program because I really love it there! I strongly suggest DDBS! 💜💎
Lindsey Tredway: my hair is so thick and the silk press was beautiful
Mia Woods: I am pleased to mention that I am writing this review as a LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST, and it is, in part, because of Dymond Designs Beauty School. When I began researching Beauty Schools to attend I stumbled upon Dymond Designs, and was sold almost immediately. They had checked off nearly all of the boxes I had.Firstly, it is a black-owned, woman-owned establishment that is dedicating to providing the most inclusive experience possible.Secondly, it is powered by individuals who continue to thrive in the competitive beauty industry, who find it important to foster a new generation of professionals that are equipped with the skill and knowledge to handle most, if not all, jobs.Thirdly, and most importantly, it felt like home. From Ms. Gaines and Ms. Vicky down to all of the the other students in attendance, everyone made it their duty to offer genuine camaraderie. To me, that is all I could ask for. With being a newly accredited institution, there were some bumps along the way, but none that were not met with great attention and consideration. With professionalism and passion, Ms. Marlene, the owner of Dymond Designs, along with the help of her right hand lady, Ms. Roxy, makes Dymond Designs a school that is worth committing to. I have enjoyed being “dymonized” and will build on all that I’ve learned as I continue growing in the field of cosmetology. 🙂by the way, the state board exams were changed not more than two months before I graduated… and I only had to take them once to get my license! If that isn’t proper preparation I don’t know what is.
Janya: Today is December 28, 2022, officially my last day at Dymond Designs Beauty School and I just wanna say I highly recommend this school. I have really enjoyed my time here. The hair shows and demos have been very amazing and very fun I’ve definitely learned a lot of things from them. My overall experience here has been amazing. The instructors here are amazing and very helpful. Ms Marlene is an amazing owner and she really has inspired me and taught me a lot of things. I first started here October 2021 in the cosmetology program. I thought I really wanted to do hair but I just think it was too much for me. I may have been good at it but it wasn’t for me. I almost gave up on beauty school and almost made that decision to completely withdraw from the school but I decided to switch to the manicuring program August of this year and that was the best decision I’ve ever made. I Instantly fell in love with it. My mom has been my biggest supporter and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. She has been on me making sure I’m on top on my stuff to complete this program. She has never gave up on me and has inspired me to keep going, to never give up. I wish I would’ve made the switch earlier. If you ever enroll at Dymond Designs Beauty School and you feel like wether it’s the cosmetology, manicuring or esthetics program is not for you, don’t wait too long to switch like I did, make that switch within 30 days of being here. Remember to never give up because great things take time. Keep going, all this hard work will be worth it in the end.
Jamila J.: I had an amazing experience at Dymond Designs Beauty School! Everyone was very patient, very nice! I love my new hairstyle, and can’t wait to come back soon
Beat by DeeBaby: I had an amazing experience i learned everything and more, im walking out an business owner, i love the people and it was never a problem with anybody i’m feeling confident about going out in the world and getting my name out there, Shout-out to my instructors Ms. Angie and Ms. Jess without them ion know where i would be and too the school Ms Marleen and Ms Roxy for always being there when needed
Shou Simmons: Great beauty school 10/10!!! I was in the manicuring program. I’ve gain so much experience. So many connections built and so many doors have opened for me. THIS IS THE SCHOOL.
Anonymous: I attended for Esthetics program. I love this school the instructors are awesome. The owner I love her she inspires me to do great things in life she is such a great leader. I recommend this school I truly see great things in the future they are constantly adding more. I felt like I was with family!
Fatme Almoola: I had a great experience at Dymond Designs Beauty School! This is definitely the school you wanna choose. Beautiful environment, very friendly people and staff. The instructors, administrators, and owner of the school go above and beyond out of their way to make sure the students get the best education and opportunities. They go way above the basics a normal beauty school could offer! Thank you DDBS for everything!❤️
Brianna Lee: I had such a great experience at DDBS! And I always recommend anyone that’s interested in the beauty industry to study here. The owner Mrs. Marlene cares about her students and she works hard to ensure that everyone that comes in comes out licensed! If I could do it all over again I would and I did now leaving going into my second license!!! I’ve been dymonized AGAIN !!!!
Asia Brielle: I graduated and became a licensed cosmetologist today! My time at the school has been nothing short of amazing! I traveled from Flint to Detroit on the days required and managed to graduate within a good time frame. I passed State Board on the first try with the help of the amazing facility and instructors. I encourage you to attend.
Leah Morris: This school is great ! Dymond Design helped me master my craft . The staff of the school was very helpful and nice it felt like family . Things that I was not sure about in the Esthetician field came to life with the help of the school. There was so much motivation! They pushed us everyday , with us also putting the work in as well . Everything I needed I received and more ! I’m elated that I choose this school! Ladies don’t wait go ahead and enroll you will not be disappointed!
Ja'Net Turner: This is the best school ever. They have so much training to offer and and you definitely will be equipped to pass your state board test..
Karri Cosley: Coming to DDBS has opened so many doors for me. They taught me everything I needed to know and more about the esthetics field. They pushed me to finally follow my dreams and do something I am so passionate about. I want to thank everyone at DDBS for believing in me and giving me that push that I needed. For anyone looking for a school to become licensed in esthetics, cosmology, or nails this is the PERFECT school for you. It’ll be a decision that you’d be proud you made and will not regret!!!
D'Juana Henderson: Best place I have ever worked! Family atmosphere, growth opportunities and education assistance. It's amazing to come to work and know that you are valued and shown that you are valued. It's one thing to say it but to actually be shown is a different ballgame and I have that here. I actually wake up and look forward to going to work!
brittany hughes: This school is phenomenal I was a student and then became an employee during Covid and I can say that this was the best school and job I ever had, and I know I will always have a spot there if I ever wanted to teach again. I sit on the board of Esthetics on the back end and the school is flourishing and I’m soooo happy, I seen the school before it was a school when it just was a dream, and What I can say about Marlene Brooks is that she is a women of her word!! She has been my mentor since I was 19yrs old and I am now 36yrs old and everything she ever said she was gonna do business or personal she has done!!!🗣💜💜💜
tywan turner: I love when I walked in to get service done I was greeted. The atmosphere is so professional
Markita Brown: I just wanted to share my experience to anyone that is unsure rather or not this school will be right for you I’d like to say go for it you will not regret it!!! So glad I chose to attend here I was sad to leave but very confident at the journey that’s ahead.Looking forward to taking my state exam next week, Dymond Design Beauty school has over prepared me for this so I’m sure I’ll walk out a licensed nail tech 😊 This school has went above and beyond at teaching me everything I need to know, open many doors for me, I have already been offered a few job opportunities, so you will be successful as long as you’re willing to do your part 😉 The staff here are truly a blessing!
Donashia Gilmer: I started my Esthetics journey in May of this year and I could not be more happy that I chose this school. This school definitely has a family environment. Being surrounded by lovely ladies of color really empowered me and pushed me to achieve my goals. I just so happened to finish school a month early. I’m leaving with so much experience and knowledge. I definitely recommend this school for anyone looking to get a lot of hands on experience as well as a huge amount of support!
Zaleeza McGee: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThis school is definitely the bomb.com it’s a family like environment and they care about your education seriously I LOVED AND ENJOYED MY TIME THERE THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. They’re amazing 🤩
Rolonda Polk: I love getting my hair done here!!!! Great atmosphere, very nice people, Ms. Marlene is a godsend very PROFESSIONAL. Not letting nobody else touch my head 💯💯

Favis Nail Salon: what do users think?
Je Davis: I love love love the techs here especially Yanet and Irma They can do it all! It's always clean and if you show them a pic or give them your ideas,.. You'll get exactly what you want
Samantha Martin: I love this place. They made my nails look exactly like the picture I wanted for my birthday nails. I also took my mom and she loved how they did her bday nails as well
Salli Wabsis: I had a Pinterest nail picture that I wanted them to duplicate. Did a great job on duplicating. However, the price is extremely high but overall I’m happy that it looks just like the picture I wanted.Services:Acrylic nails,Nail art
Ashely Lugoaponte: I've been coming here since I was 16 when favi owned it and I vowed to never go anywhere else!!! The girls here have amazing talent and they are all super sweet!!! I do have a favorite though, Irma, she is the best in my book!!!
Maria Cuevas: Excelente servicio
anishya matias: Great friendly staff, amazing work!
Itwasalla Dream: They are great. Even with increased pricing it’s still reasonable. I take a 20 minute drive every two weeks. The fact that they go by appointments is the best. There is no wait. There is a deposit that can be applied to your service. I would say they are one of the best nail salons in Detroit. These ladies are very artistic. You can see the pride in their work! I’ve been utilizing them for almost a year. Worth the money definitely.
anne Carter: Love this place
alisa P: My favorite nail salon in Michigan! Everyone is very professional! I never have to wait when i get there! The nail art is beautiful ! I’ve come with pictures of designs And I am never disappointed ! My favorite nail tech is Yannet (they’re all very good).Services:Acrylic nails,Nail art,Facial treatments
qiana Knight: My new favorite place.
Patrice Bembry: They talk alot to each other while doing your nails and that slows them down and takes attention away from their work and customer.smhService:Acrylic nails
Jenny Laureano: I must say I’ve been getting my nails 💅🏽 and feet done at Favis for over a decade now, and I love it I love the girls, the atmosphere If feels like home. I once had my feet really really dry and cracked skin Sarahi whom is one of my nail techs not only did she give me advice on how to take care of my feet she showed me what to buy to heal them properly. And on my next visit she remember my problem and ask me how it was going? That made feel like she takes pride in Caring for her clients. I’ve gotten my nails with pretty much all the girls there and they all know how picky I am and they take their time to make sure I walk out with nails that I love. The receptionist Jeniffer, is so humble she always ask me if I want to make my follow up so that I don’t have call, their pretty busy (great thing for business) so I always make sure to book 2 app in advance or I call at least 1 week before I need my app. And if there isn’t any available she put my name down for the waiting list in case anyone cancels :) thank you Favis for such great service!!!Services:Acrylic nails,Nail art,Manicure,Pedicure,Gel manicures
Ivy: I went for a pedicure and loved every moment of it! I had a private room, Erma was very patient and friendly!! Loved the experience overall!
kennedy burks: My experience was terrible they were very unprofessional rushing did not have the proper color as well as being very inconsiderate. The nail was uneven and crooked the shape and color was nothing that I wanted she was unaccommodating when it came to them not having the correct acrylic powder as well as me sending a previous picture to what I wanna prior to my appointment. My friend and I went there and this was our first experience and we will never go back we can tell that they were in a rush they only had an hour slot so they were unable to do a lot of designs or able to do a simple sale which is what I got. As you can see in the picture I posted it was very uneven she also was in so much of a rush that while following my nail she also filed my skin and caused me to believe I was very disappointed in this experience and will never go back I suggest that nobody goes back here and don’t even try it if you do please read the Google reviews which is something that we should have done I hope that these reviews get taken seriously because There are more negative and one star reviews than anything especially with her being unprofessionalism as well as the nail techs rushing. I also hope the owner of the shop is aware that their business is very unprofessional their nail techs need a lot more training and overall just a terrible experience they were also unaware of their own inventory they didn’t know the colors they had nor the glitter my friend ended up having Mitch match glitter because she was in a rush and apparently they were trying to leave at seven to go get chicken😂🤣Then I called to see what they could do about it the lady had an attitude and said I would have to go there get them soaked off in order to get a refund very unprofessional and petty, the most I should have to do is send a picture of what I wanted vs what I got😂🤣The photos below are a comparison of what I wanted versus what I got.Service:Acrylic nails
Sharelis Rivera: For starters Terrible services. I don’t really do review and I never had such a bad experience with getting my nails done before. I went with my friend, It was our first time trying this place out. We took the last slot at 6 pm and nail tech are kinda rude and did not want to do any design we wanted. Mind you we sent over pictures of what we wanted before booking the appointment and they said that they can do the color and design we wanted. When we got there, let me tell you are expectations were to high, the nail tech were talking about who is going to take who. did not know what our designs were. They didn’t have the color on the photo! Clearly disorganized!! The nail tech took time out of my slot and I only had around 30 min until closed and my design was ugly and not what I wanted. She sure was rushing the process. They must have been hungry too because all they can talk about is eating chicken 😂. The girl in the front was with a I don’t care attitude while helping us and munching on some Doritos lol! On top of that the nail tech even started drilling her own acrylic while doing my nails and her acrylic started flying towards my face. Also they didn’t deduct our deposit. We had to call them 3 times to even receive our $20 deposit. Beware of this nail salon. Know who you are booking with because clearly we did not!!!Service:Acrylic nails
Kim Jordan: Horrible customer service PERIOD! WAS a customer for a few years...a few things happened nothings perfect but I give a business that I've built a relationship with 3 strikes before no longer patronizing (probably 2 tries too many) but their issue is they have all these rules (that's great) at least if they followed their own rules... can't be late...(watch a few of the techs come in late having customers waiting at their station, only customers allowed (their kids running all around the shop WITH NO MASK) ETC.... basically cheap ain't always better...rather pay $50 for nails and get $50 service rather than $20 nails and that speaks to the level of service you'll get. DO BETTER FAVI!
Mrs. Dismuke: Professional! On-time by appointment only! Creative nail 💅 styles!
Dominique Guin: Went here a few years ago to get my nails done and they did an awesome job so I decided to go back. I’m on my 2 Nd fill in. The first time I got my nails done the nail tech didn’t have a very welcoming attitude. I understand a welcoming attitude is subjective...people have things going on in their lives. She just wasn’t friendly. Maybe I caught her on a bad day...it was her last day of working there come to find out and she was pregnant so maybe her hormones influenced her emotions that day but at the end of the day my nails were just okay. I know everyone has their own way of doing nails but it was just ok.The second lady that did my fill in did AN AMAZING job! I loved them and I wanted her to do my nails again but she was booked so I had to see someone else. The lady that did my nails today didn’t have an attitude....she was polite...and asked me how I was after my last visit bc I developed swelling on one of my fingers from what I believe was from the First Lady that did my nails but anyways she was pleasant. I feel she rushed my nails...some nails were filed crooked. She didn’t use enough acrylic when filling in. They weren’t shaped properly so it’s not the quality of work I was looking for. Btw...all I got was peach acrylic, short, square shaped nails. No designs...just a clear gel top coat.I gave them 3 stars instead of 2 bc they are capable of doing great work...I guess it just depends on who you get, how they feel, and what their strength is. I won’t be back after this appointment. Not worth the distance I drive to come to them...customer service is too iffy and the opportunity cost just don’t add up for me.Service:Manicure
Butterfly Mars: Richard is the man
Alejandra Presas: Services:Gel manicures,Nail art,Acrylic nails,ManicurePositive:Cleanliness,Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Value
Chekeela Walker: First time going here for service. The nail tech did a nice job on my left hand, however, she rushed to finish my tight hand. The nails are much longer, wider, and I had an appointment to be at. I'll give them another try.
