Loreta Geneviciute: Amazing restaurant ! My husband and I visited this place September of 2022 and we both agreed that we will come back to Detroit just to eat at this place again. We love all the food we had and drinks were delicious! If you ever visit Detroit this place should be at the top of your restaurant list.
Stephanie O'Callaghan: Since it opened, it’s been one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Always meets or exceeds expectations. Love the vibe, the decor, etc and more importantly love the food. It’s fresh and creative, flavorful and doesn’t sit heavy. I like the Mediterranean vibe but they don’t limit themselves creatively. The pastas are always phenomenal. The veggie dishes delicious and thoughtful. I love sitting at the chefs counter and watching them work the open fire and coal oven spaces. Great beverage list too! Highly recommend. I always stop here when I’m in the area.
Alex: One of the best dining experiences I've had in Michigan. Started off with the cocktail called immediate detour. I was pleasantly surprised how tasty the drink was given I'm usually underwhelmed by restaurant cocktails. The food was amazing. I was able to try the green salad, roasted broccoli, roasted pasnips, roasted potatoes, cacio e pepe, chittara, and beef tartare. All were excellent, but the pastas (cacio e pepe and chittara) and the roasted potatoes were my favorite. I tried the horchata tres leche cake for dessert. I've never tried this style of cake before and I wasn't a big fan, but it was good to try something new. I also tasted a bit of the pecan pie -- highly recommended. Looking forward to trying this place out again.

Todays Present: This was a perfect dining experience. Ryan is the best waiter. After coming here again, I will request him every time. He gives excellent recommendations and his descriptions ensure there are no surprises. I loved everything we had here. The sweet potato pasta and the mushrooms were my absolute favorite. The broccoli was great, but very spicy. The duck on toast was divine! The tri tip and the raspberry tart were just okay (I wouldn't order again). I enjoyed having the dining room reservation, the communal reservation would be too loud/close and not my type of experience. The scallops were spicy but irresistible. The hake is the only thing I’ve ever tried here that did not meet the standards of the rest of the food. It was mushy and inedible. I wasn’t told if this was a fluke or by design. But I would not recommend the hake.
Sanam Sharif: Good place. Good food. Good service. Family style dining. Has a good vibe and ambiance.
E Vaughan: Have been here several times, but this time, my daughter, who is highly allergic to tree nuts, came along. I was able to notify Selden Standard at the time of making the reservation. The staff got the message and were ready for us. The staff was extremely careful and accommodating. We are grateful for their kind attention.Recommended dishes Lamb Chops …More

Juliette Okotie-Eboh: Rude manager and hostess staff— I have dined there frequently over the years and always had a great experience until today. Their behavior was racist and very upsetting— I will never return!! Must be new management — I did not see the folks who were always gracious and welcoming. Our server was fine but I was throughly insulted, especially by the manager. What a disappointment.
DCHS Library: Best food that I have eaten in Detroit since we moved here a decade and a half agoVegetarian options: celery root parmigiana is amazing
zachary campbell: I came here for my birthday. Everything was great! I Will definitely be back again!Recommended dishes Lamb Chops …More
Nicole T: Am I the only one confused by all these 4 star reviews?? I think it’s by childless millennial hipsters who think they are dining in an upscale Manhattan atmosphere. I found NOTHING about this place appealing - except the waitress who was very kind and attentive. The menu is extremely overpriced with froufrou stuff and small portions. And how are charging over $20 for vegetables?? $18 for some cooked cheese? Tiny little portions . We had 3 “‘meals” and shared 3 appetizers and still weren’t full. To top it off, I got extreme food poisoning from there. I don’t mind paying more for a good dinner, but at least include some sides and have more salad choices. Not very impressed in the least bit. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere where at least you get good portion size- and not dishes that were created for someone’s Instagram “aesthetic”Vegetarian options: More vegetarian options than actual meat
Bridget Finn: All time favorite forever. ♥️
Nicole Castro: Great food and service. It can be pretty loud, so if you are sensitive, you may want to consider going at off hours. The tres leches cake was wonderful.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Oysters on the Half Shell …More
Jose: Food is always amazingMainstays are their ragu, particularly the Lamb.Recently the Spanish Fried Rice has been a joy.Drinks are always deliciously refreshing.End your evening with a shot of Fernet and a stroll around Midtown.

William Vosotros: Food was wonderful. The fennel & endive salad was good. Cacio e Pepe was great! The lamb ribs were soft and cooked really well. The agrodolce and lemon yogurt works really well with the lamb. The green sauce elevates the grilled chicken flavor. Both the cod & bass were awesome! Overall it was a truly wonderful gastronomic experience.Parking: Limited parking on the side back of the restaurant but lots of parking on the street as well as the vacant lot on the front of restaurant.
Josh Levey: Excellent farm to table dining in midtown Detroit. Food is very high quality and unique, with interesting, distinct and delicious flavor pairings. Cocktails and drinks are also great. Several vegan and vegetarian options. We ordered the roasted carrots, the roasted broccoli, the roasted mushrooms, the cacio e pepe and the chittara. Everything was amazing. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, bringing us fresh plates and utensils after every course. Great, refined dining experience

Jacob Smith: Phenomenal. Excellent food, friendly staff, affordable prices with a low-key atmosphere. The owner Chef Omar is widely known in the community to be a great guy. His passion for his cooking oozes thru the restaurant. The Harissa Potatoes and any of the Tagine entrees are my personal faves. Highly recommend!
Jocelyn Dombrowski: We had a delicious meal at Saffron De Twah!! Chef Omar choose all the appetizers and two main courses and all were wonderful. The main courses, our big enough to split. The chicken sandwich was enough for three people. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is so so. Just be prepared. It’s not a finished off dining in restaurant experience. Definitely have reservations.
Luisa Schumacher: Fresh and beautiful food. Plan to eat many dishes.Location is right on Gratiot and easy to miss because it is tucked next to a larger building.NOTE: If you don't like loud road sounds - request a table inside rather than the patio
E Vaughan: Yes, they have a great fried chicken sandwich that is as big as your head! But, you also need to try the tagine - fresh tasting and delicious! They also are strictly practice COVID safety during the pandemic you can see when you go in to pick upYour food everyone is wearing masks in the kitchen, no dining inside AND their take out containers are environmentally friendly, which is a huge bonus for me. Thanks for caring. You guys are tops! We will be back, Thank you!

markallen: Highly recommended. If you are unfamiliar with the area you could drive right past it without knowing, but those in the "know" fill this establishment up. I ate there for the first time this past weekend and I was delighted with the quality and taste. The owner/chef is good humored and interacts with customers. The group ordered the Loubia dip, Saffron Tomato dip, Harissa potatoes, a couple Moroccan chicken sandwiches and a Lamb Tagine bowl to share. Upon the first taste I knew this was something special. I normally don't write reviews but for Saffron De Twah I'm making an exception.

Leonardo D.: This place has got to be the most underrated one in town; they deserve more attention from locals. They certainly have it from the James Beard team as they're nominated for Best Chef in 2023. And rightly so; we had the Zalouk with pita chips, the Moroccan Chicken sandwich, and the Lamb Tagine...all delicious and nicely executed. Omar the chef is the one front of the house making sure all guests are well explained of the menu, and cared for. Looking forward to stopping in soon.

K W: The atmosphere and staff are always great. The reason for my 3 star review is because the lentil burger was awful. By far the worst burger I've ever had. It was pastey with no flavor. Should rethink your veggie offering

Donald Radabaugh: I always brag about Lumen. Never had a bad experience until Wednesday night. Food quality dropped and prices rose. The prices now don't match the product and the quality has never been lower. I could write a novel about this experience but I'll just say I hope whatever changes have been recently made are reversed. It will be a good, long while before I return. I skittish about Lumen now. Our server was great. It's not a service issue. It's quality and price, specifically quality.
Sherry Ray: First time dining here. Great location, warm/inviting atmosphere. Friendly staff, food preparation expedited, freshly served, perfect temperature and delicious!! Will definitely dine here again.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Phil Williams: Nuanced and delicious dishes, all perfectly executed. Staff are responsive and service is prompt given how busy it can be. The meatball appetizer is divine and all of our entrées were utterly perfect. Becky Williams: Fake upscale restaurant period!
Garcia Bragg: They respected our reservations, we were seated in a timely fashion. The wait staff was professional, and detailed. Every dish we tried, was satisfying.Parking: There was parking nearby available, however we were fortunate enough to valet that night.
Todays Present: We loved our dinner here. And we really enjoyed the service. Brianna was a superb waitress. I appreciated that she has tried everything on the menu and was able to give helpful insight. She genuinely wanted us to enjoy our meal and experience. The pasta with salmon was delicious! I really enjoyed the flavors and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The burger was very flavorful with the softest bun. The calamari was just okay...I wouldn't order it again. Mac and cheese was great and the brownies were the perfect treat especially warmed up! I would absolutely come again and recommend to others.
Stacy Weber: The appetizers were so good, this feta spread with herbs was our fave! The drinks were also really good. And we enjoyed all of the nature light with our dining. Our server was very helpful and attentive.
joe31400: I heard really good things about this place, but I had a terrible experience. First off, the waiter seemed very rude, didn’t seem like she wanted to be working. Her service was good, but she didn’t wanna talk, nor did she seem happy to be working. The chicken wing seemed to be old as they were very chewy, never once have I had chewy wings. The burgers that were ordered well done were also burned and my friend that ordered medium got his well done. The only thing I enjoyed here was the meatballs and the fires. Overall, the atmosphere is very nice inside, but the food wasn’t good for the price.
Rick: Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More

The atmosphere was pleasant and quiet, most definitely going back. This is a great spot for any occasion 10/10!!!!!!

Jessica Carpenter: Great service. Average food. Fun environmentRecommended dishes Cheese Curds …More
Ron Reed: Karl's is a Detroit classic that is one of the most popular unknown places in the city. On the second floor of the Siren hotel, the food is some of the best value on downtown. The menu has a wide variety from great breakfast choices to excellent lunch and dinner. The service is typical Detroit, super friendly and attentive. I would recommend this as a great brunch choice if you want to meet friends, with family or a date.Big shout out to the entire team for pulling of a great restaurant.

Shay Miller: Great atmosphere. Food is on the expensive side but getting great service in a unique building worth a tour.
Leah Purkiss: Had a great time! Food was great! Service was extremely slow but staff were very friendly. Soup a bit sour but everything was very fresh. Would I go again? Yes!
Guy Diakow: I really want to like Karl’s… cool location and space, food is good (not great), but over priced and most importantly, the staff are disinterested and seem bothered by guests. Have been twice and start to finish each time it felt like they were doing me a favor.

We were truly impressed by the passion and dedication of the entire team. For an unforgettable Italian dining experience, don't miss the chance to visit SheWolf!
Elizabeth Mansfield: What I had was wonderful, but only had one drink and an app because bartenders gave terrible service so I left. This is the first time I have left a $0 tip.
Ryan Gabrielli: Loved the vibe here, service was great, food was delicious. Yes, it was pricey, but we knew ahead of time the prices and what we expected to pay.
Vincent Brennan: Expensive but VERY good.
MT: We really enjoyed our meal at SW. that said, I truly hoped for “Pasta” to be the centerpiece. It wasn’t. Advertising as house made pasta , and it sure is, our dishes were all centers around either the protein or the sauce. Even ciabatta bread was served with butter not EVOO.We will probably be eating here again but next time we shall ask for just pasta with fresh w and some great olive oil on it.
