Melissa: I guess I never put my review on google. A few months ago while Xmas shopping I came here with a friend after she saw some cards online she was interested in. The store is gorgeous with some unique items but the person I believe to be the owner was completely disrespectful. My friend elected not to buy the Xmas cards as they were over her budget and when buying something else, this woman had the audacity to ask her in a condescending tone; “oh did we not have enough cards for you?” And then went on this rant about how they’re hand printed etc as if we had insulted her. Some people aren’t rich, which you would know if you had any sort of social awareness about the neighborhood you’re setting up in. This isn’t Birmingham, it’s a developing area in Detroit and shaming people for how much they spend is NOT a good business plan. Respect goes a long way. Won’t be back.

Plum Health DPC: A beautiful home goods store in New Center on Woodward with unique furniture and home goods as well as decorative accents. The team there is super friendly and helpful and I can’t wait to go back soon. There’s metered parking on Woodward Avenue right in front of the store that is easy to get in to.

Mark A. Gibson: Once you visit their showroom you realize that the team at Gardella, The owner, Gary, and his staff Bridgette, Diane etc are extremely knowledgeable about quality furniture. The store is very much like an art gallery. They have been serving the City of Detroit and the surrounding areas for Decades and are still doing a great job of caring for their customers. My Brothers home looks great and the cabinetsI ordered are right on time. It’s been a great experience!

molly betts: Right before the pandemic I purchased furniture from this store based on reviews. I always travel back to Alabama for the winter months. Unfortunately, I got stuck in Alabama for a year and a half because of the Virus. Once I arrived back to Detroit I began noticing damage to my dinner table and sofa. When the furniture was delivered, I immediately left for Alabama. There is a split in the top of the table. Behind the middle pillow on the sofa, the zipper is broken therefore the cushion is hanging out. Before you spend your hard earned money here , make sure you do a thorough inspection. There’s no way that they didn’t know about the torn zipper and cushion hanging out in back of sofa. And the split keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Gary took the time to view both our new home, and the home we were selling to give us guidance on how to incorporate existing furniture into our vision of a more modern scheme. He gave his honest opinion (with humor) even when we didn't necessarily agree. He assisted with style, furniture selection and design. Thank goodness we took his advice! He saved us from making not only some very costly errors, but mistakes in design. When the store had to close, due to the Pandemic, Bridgette went above and beyond. She stayed up to the wee hours searching for fabric, rugs and bedroom furniture. The store is very much like an art gallery, and the staff are honest, experienced, helpful and patient. The entire experience resulted in a perfectly furnished new home, and was a lot of FUN! Diana and Mike

Randy T. Enochs: Nora Detroit is one of my favorite shops in all of Detroit. If you’re ever looking for something amazing to add to your home or want an awesome, unique gift for someone, this is the place! Nora also makes an effort to support local artists and artisans, which I also love. The staff is also incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.

They promptly responded and said the book would be sent out. Since that response from them on October 9th, I haven't been able to get ahold of anyone at the store despite multiple attempts. It's been three months, and my order hasn't been fulfilled, and they have gone radio silent. DO NOT PLACE AN ONLINE ORDER WITH THIS COMPANY.
Katherine O'Neil: What a beautiful neighboor boutique! I wander into Nora while walking down Cass Ave. It is a mix of jewlery and homewares. I found the items to all be stylish some a little modern for my taste but also found some great gift items. The employees were super hepful and helped me find a braclet and earnings that really suited my style.

Don't fret though as there are definitely some pieces scattered around that are more affordable ie. some beautiful glass vases for $28 or pretty Marimekko journals for under $10.Definitely worth a stop in if in the Midtown area. If you're in a shopping mood, go ahead and check out Hugh next door and City Bird, Nest, and Shinola a block away. This is a great shopping area if you're looking to buy some gifts for friends or yourself.

Jason ODay (Jay): As I entered I noticed right away how friendly and cheerful the employees were. Inside was clean and smelled nice. I was able to walk around freely!! I hate when you walk into a furniture store and the sales reps are in my face. This place was nothing like that. There was a hug selection of rugs and most available in multiple sizes. From 10 being the best, I would rate the quality of the rugs at a strong 8!! Most of the rugs were marked 1/2 off and let me tell you, their prices were better than Amazon or Wayfair. I wasn't shopping for furniture but it seemed like a pretty good selection of living room and bedroom furniture. I would recommend this store to others. If you are shopping for Rugs, bedding, furniture, etc.. I would start here. I will add photos later.

Recently, I purchase a full bedroom set, couch and loveseat.First of all we went to the store around 6pm and they close at 7. So we were walking around and looking at the furniture and then the guy on the cashier with the glass mid age literally start looking at us and cursing at us in Arabic I could tell, only reason I bought it because there delivery was in an week. Next, the delivery was an absolute mess, those guys are very unprofessional and rude, the left all the garage saying they’ll come back to get it but never showed up. They were extremely rude and ended up causing damage to our house and doorway because they were trying to 'fit' the couch through. By the time the set everything most of the things were already damaged, to be safe I got warranty so now I called for service they’re not helpful at all and don’t know if we’ll get our service done or not or else we just lost $4k. DON’T BUY FROM THIS SCAMMERS.

Elise Kendra: I’ve been to POST for two workshops now and I cannot recommend this place more. They have great workshops and great local artist shopping as well.Each month they come out with new workshops with local artist. From the instructions to actually working on the project is hands down easy and enjoyable.The local shop has amazing stationary and other local items to buy that are top quality as well.
Christina Mariani: I’ve loved every workshop I’ve attended here with different instructors. Great guidance and all my pieces have come out great. All the items in the shop are so fun and inspire creativity. Every time I leave I look forward to being back again.

It's a fun and interactive way to learn a new skill and create something that's uniquely your own.The staff at POST are friendly and knowledgeable, and they're always happy to help you find what you're looking for. They're also great at suggesting unique gift ideas, so don't be afraid to ask for their advice. And if you're not able to visit the store in person, you can always shop online and have your items shipped to you.Overall, I highly recommend checking out POST if you're in the Detroit area. Esther Kennedy: Wish I could put more than 5 stars. Walked in looking for a king size bed and mattress, got quoted an excellence price for a very popular bed. Went back wanting a different bed. They were able to order the bed I really want, in the color I want, the size I want with the mattress I fell in love with at the beginning. They even took a step further to disfigure their show room to show how high my bed would sit adding a low profile frame. Which was something else I wanted. Needed height for my back problems. With all of that, it was just a few bucks more than my first quote. I’m beyond happy. I can’t wait to receive my bed.

Joe, the owner, has a great eye and talent for selecting things you just won't find anywhere else. The store is bright and open, and the staff is welcoming and friendly.
Biaohua Yu: Been here for few gifts for friends before. Staff is impeccable, more than willing to mix and match the scotch glasses I needed for a wedding once. Usually I hate shopping, normally I like going in and make my purchase as quickly as possible. But this shop is very welcoming and well curated, making you want to take the time to ogle every piece of merchandise. I'm not a man of refined taste, but with this store they do that work for you, truly a gem in Midtown Detroit.

Chris Wheeler: Some people might appreciate art more than me, but there's a fine line between art and junk... I think you can get where I'm going from there. Annemarie Fernendez: I ordered a set of glass beer mugs and somehow they are probably somewhere. It's been 2 freakin weeks and I have received any call back after my last conversation with them. I already paid for that and I still dont have them with me! The worst ever!

Golden Rules of Wine and Travel: It was at Hugh that my husband really got involved in our Detroit shopping excursion. The store is filled with gorgeous bottle openers, liquor glasses, men's accessories, bowls and styled seating areas. Joe Posch runs the shop and is super friendly, but not in that small-boutique-I-am-just-going-to-keep-talking-to-you-awkwardly-and-suggest-things-randomly kind of way. He very smoothly talked about the origin of the store (he won the Hatch Detroit Retail Idea Contest) WHILE he kept ringing us up and described where the items we were buying came from in a short sound bytes.In total, we ended up with a gift for my brother-in-law (which is awesome, but I can't write about it here because it is for his birthday in August- Hi Justin!), some items for my husband's desk, a glass footed bowl and a light green square Scandinavian dish. Hugh has online retail starting this week for those that need gifts for their brother-in-law's birthdays.
