But they're still the same friendly, helpful people.--------------------------------They accept almost everything - including styrofoam and all kinds of batteries. They even have a bin for books - and people are welcome to take a book if they see one they want. Check their website, though - there are a few things they can't accept.

The people working at Recycle Here are very knowledgeable. When I have out of town guests we start our Saturday at Recycle Here! It's a unique experience for visitors.

Kristina Z: It used to be a fun activity, sure you have to self sort things out, but lately they are going on my nerves. Every time you come they will ask you to fill out the paper with your info “so the city knows how many people recycle and what”. If by now that’s not obvious by the amount of recycling that goes on there, why you need our names on every visit? While I do want to reduce my carbon print I am annoyed by filling out the forms when obviously recycling bins are not an option for many of us living in Detroit. Their grand answer “if you don’t agree with it, you can do it in Hamtramck”!!
