Dylan Grimm: First time going to Culantro and I was blown away by the food and can’t wait to come back again. The staff was super friendly and asked if it was our first time to which we said yes and we were given clear instructions on the menu and our options on how to order.We sat ourselves at a booth and used the QR code to order. You can open a tab up on your phone and just keep ordering on that all meal until you’re ready to checkout and leave. The staff will bring you all your food and drinks so you don’t need to get up at all.The food came out pretty quick and was incredible. The carne a la planca with rice, plantains and fries was so tasty. The steak was cooked a nice medium with a little pink inside the middle and I just can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this meal.Since moving up to Michigan from south Florida last year I’ve longed for good Peruvian food like I got back home and I’m happy to say I finally found it.This will be a regular spot for me moving forward.Parking: The front of building street parking was closed because of construction. There is parking lots in the rear as well as rear entrances to the restaurant. Parking is free on Sunday’s otherwise it’s the same as all other downtown ferndale parking by using the app or the kiosk.

El servicio es normal nada que destacar.INGLES.Good food, a lot of food for the right price. The location is adequate with two entrances. There's a wall where you can find photos of all the dishes they sell as well as a little description of them which helps a lot for deciding what to eat.

Amanda N: Went with friends for the first time and when we walked in it felt very cozy. It is a very small space so best to make reservations if you have more than two people. We were brought water in plastic water bottles which I found odd. Then feel of the restaurant seemed upscale but water in plastic bottles?!? Strange. The vegetarian plachos were quite good actually. I would get them again. A friend ordered a red wine and it came out ice cold. Red wine shouldn’t be cold. When she ordered her second glass she asked for it warm and they just provided reasons why it was cold. Again strange. I had the paella and it was good, a little greasy but good. Plenty of leftovers! The arepas are quite large and my friends seemed to enjoy it. The stir fry steak was good but not prepared medium rare the way my husband ordered it. He still liked it. Overall it was good and we might go back but we won’t be running back.

Michael Turner: We came here for my birthday and it was a small little place with a whole lot of flavor.The arepas and paella were great. Everyone enjoyed the quesadillas and the waitstaff was attentive.I was disappointed that the milkshakes are seasonal and it wasn’t stated on the website. Otherwise, I’d definitely come back, just with a smaller group for quicker service.
Andrew Spina: The steak and mushroom Mac and cheese is excellent. They make a very good latte and I’ve had a couple arepas (sandwiches) all of which have been great. Excellent Saturday brunch menu too!

Liem Ngo: Food was outstanding. Venezuelan food. We had the plantain nachos. Delicious South American take on nachos with plantains instead of tortilla chips. I had the Casablanca seafood plate. Excellent sauce and yellow rice with peas went eel with the seafood. The bean Arepa sandwich was perfect and huge. Had enough leftovers for another meal. The drinks were unique and prefect blend of sweetness and alcohol.
