oatmealbrownie09: I just picked up Paczkis for my office. We think these are the best we've ever tasted. Will be back.
Krista Brummet: Best pierogis I’ve ever had
Jon Lafferty: I drove down on January 6 at 2:50 PM to pick up some pierogies. To my surprise the store was closed. The workers were in there cleaning up for the day. I thought maybe I had the time wrong. I asked one of the employees cleaning up and she said they were supposed to be open until 4 o’clock today but closed early. There was no reason given or any attempt to try and help. The pierogies are good here but after that terrible customer service I doubt I’ll be back. After posting this review the owner of the company replied and provided her email. I emailed her back the next morning and she was apologetic and explained what had gone wrong that day (new employee that made a mistake) and asked if I would call her to see if there was a way to rectify the situation. I called but didn’t see anyway for this situation to be corrected because the birthday party was at 2pm and there was no way I was going to make it back to Eastern Market. The owner asked which pierogi’s I had wanted then offered to prepare and deliver them to my home so all I’d have to do is reheat. I expected an employee to drop them off but it was the owner that personally delivered them. When an owner comes to personally apologize and deliver your order it’s a sign of a leader that cares. That’s first rate customer problem resolution and an experience I will not forget. I will be again, and by the way everyone loved them and the new group favorite is the Jalapeño Pierogi. Thank you
【Mix And Match 4】(税込$10)と【Sauerkraut】(税込$1)を注文し、【Mix And Match 4】のPierogiは【The Becky】と【The Fun Guys】を2個ずつ選択しました。

Kanishk Bakshi: I had a pork shank and boy it was delicious. Seems a bit expensive though. So, it was not good for the price. But given the ambience and plating and taste of food, Pork Shank was great.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
KiKi Dasher: I was looking for a restaurant not too far from the Fox theater because I was attending a concert with my son. I tried to make reservations online and had difficulty. I spoke to a nice young lady and she got me a reservation. I’ve never been to this restaurant and our sever Ibrahim was very attentive and he suggested a cocktail that complimented my meal. We were asked about special occasions or dietary restrictions and that was awesome. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was clean. The food and service was excellent and I’m sure I’ll be back.

Eric Lindsay: This is a must stop for anyone in Detroit. Make a reservation as it does fill up every night. Its my fav burger in Detroit but everything on the menu is a must try. Everything is made in house and it shows, the drinks are just as good if not better than the food as well so indulge when you go.
Dan Sharp: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Michael Taillard: An excellent restaurant experience. Great service, great cocktails, great atmosphere. The food menu relies heavily on obvious things that fail to showcase the culinary talents of the chefs (e.g.: oysters, steaks, etc.) buy the food is still very good. The wine list, while limited, is impeccable. Definitely worth the trip.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Lola Meyers: Best shareable plates + cocktails. Always 10/10 date night spot
Dezerai Monique: It was a great night the ambience was good nice atmosphere. I ordered the lamb and really wanted to like it was terrible like they just put tomato paste water down on top of it how can lamb not be tender and moist? It was dry bland horrible just horrible. I found nothing to like about the meal. Besides the drinks were good. I see why it's called GHOST...
Kelly Marie: I think this place has a lot of potential. I worked in the service industry for a while and I expect a certain level of decency from staff. The general manager did not seem to have that. I was accused of feeding a backserver caviar which never actually happened. I apologize if my verbiage came off wrong- please show me your cameras. My group was cut off and we decided it was best to leave as the vibe was off. You know, nobody fell over, no one yelled, I was accused of making “slurs” and honestly we just came in for some late night food around 9 pm. I’m still not sure what the real issue was. I’m so over spending 300Plus dollars to be treated like trash. If the owner is reading this- please reach out. I’ve been coming here for years and your GM needs an attitude adjustment.

Loreta Geneviciute: Amazing restaurant ! My husband and I visited this place September of 2022 and we both agreed that we will come back to Detroit just to eat at this place again. We love all the food we had and drinks were delicious! If you ever visit Detroit this place should be at the top of your restaurant list.
Stephanie O'Callaghan: Since it opened, it’s been one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Always meets or exceeds expectations. Love the vibe, the decor, etc and more importantly love the food. It’s fresh and creative, flavorful and doesn’t sit heavy. I like the Mediterranean vibe but they don’t limit themselves creatively. The pastas are always phenomenal. The veggie dishes delicious and thoughtful. I love sitting at the chefs counter and watching them work the open fire and coal oven spaces. Great beverage list too! Highly recommend. I always stop here when I’m in the area.
Alex: One of the best dining experiences I've had in Michigan. Started off with the cocktail called immediate detour. I was pleasantly surprised how tasty the drink was given I'm usually underwhelmed by restaurant cocktails. The food was amazing. I was able to try the green salad, roasted broccoli, roasted pasnips, roasted potatoes, cacio e pepe, chittara, and beef tartare. All were excellent, but the pastas (cacio e pepe and chittara) and the roasted potatoes were my favorite. I tried the horchata tres leche cake for dessert. I've never tried this style of cake before and I wasn't a big fan, but it was good to try something new. I also tasted a bit of the pecan pie -- highly recommended. Looking forward to trying this place out again.

Todays Present: This was a perfect dining experience. Ryan is the best waiter. After coming here again, I will request him every time. He gives excellent recommendations and his descriptions ensure there are no surprises. I loved everything we had here. The sweet potato pasta and the mushrooms were my absolute favorite. The broccoli was great, but very spicy. The duck on toast was divine! The tri tip and the raspberry tart were just okay (I wouldn't order again). I enjoyed having the dining room reservation, the communal reservation would be too loud/close and not my type of experience. The scallops were spicy but irresistible. The hake is the only thing I’ve ever tried here that did not meet the standards of the rest of the food. It was mushy and inedible. I wasn’t told if this was a fluke or by design. But I would not recommend the hake.
Sanam Sharif: Good place. Good food. Good service. Family style dining. Has a good vibe and ambiance.
E Vaughan: Have been here several times, but this time, my daughter, who is highly allergic to tree nuts, came along. I was able to notify Selden Standard at the time of making the reservation. The staff got the message and were ready for us. The staff was extremely careful and accommodating. We are grateful for their kind attention.Recommended dishes Lamb Chops …More
Juliette Okotie-Eboh: Rude manager and hostess staff— I have dined there frequently over the years and always had a great experience until today. Their behavior was racist and very upsetting— I will never return!! Must be new management — I did not see the folks who were always gracious and welcoming. Our server was fine but I was throughly insulted, especially by the manager. What a disappointment.
DCHS Library: Best food that I have eaten in Detroit since we moved here a decade and a half agoVegetarian options: celery root parmigiana is amazing

Nicole T: Am I the only one confused by all these 4 star reviews?? I think it’s by childless millennial hipsters who think they are dining in an upscale Manhattan atmosphere. I found NOTHING about this place appealing - except the waitress who was very kind and attentive. The menu is extremely overpriced with froufrou stuff and small portions. And how are charging over $20 for vegetables?? $18 for some cooked cheese? Tiny little portions . We had 3 “‘meals” and shared 3 appetizers and still weren’t full. To top it off, I got extreme food poisoning from there. I don’t mind paying more for a good dinner, but at least include some sides and have more salad choices. Not very impressed in the least bit. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere where at least you get good portion size- and not dishes that were created for someone’s Instagram “aesthetic”Vegetarian options: More vegetarian options than actual meat
Bridget Finn: All time favorite forever. ♥️
Nicole Castro: Great food and service. It can be pretty loud, so if you are sensitive, you may want to consider going at off hours. The tres leches cake was wonderful.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Oysters on the Half Shell …More

William Vosotros: Food was wonderful. The fennel & endive salad was good. Cacio e Pepe was great! The lamb ribs were soft and cooked really well. The agrodolce and lemon yogurt works really well with the lamb. The green sauce elevates the grilled chicken flavor. Both the cod & bass were awesome! Overall it was a truly wonderful gastronomic experience.Parking: Limited parking on the side back of the restaurant but lots of parking on the street as well as the vacant lot on the front of restaurant.
Josh Levey: Excellent farm to table dining in midtown Detroit. Food is very high quality and unique, with interesting, distinct and delicious flavor pairings. Cocktails and drinks are also great. Several vegan and vegetarian options. We ordered the roasted carrots, the roasted broccoli, the roasted mushrooms, the cacio e pepe and the chittara. Everything was amazing. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, bringing us fresh plates and utensils after every course. Great, refined dining experience

Chris Barish: Overall a bit disappointed. By the reviews I was expecting to be knocked off my feet.Still good pizza. Good texture around the crust. Fresh ingredients. Not greasy.Biggest gripe is the sauce was a bit bland. Definitely under seasoned but was also lacking any zip. The Packard Pepperoni comes with some honey on it which I feel would have been great if there was some acidity to counterbalance the sweetness. Instead it was more of a 1 note flavor throughout. All that said my pizza also looked different from other pictures. Cheese came up halfway to crust top and pizza was like a half inch thick. Not really Detroit style. Automate Trade show is in town so maybe I just caught them on a bad night.Oh and the size is definitely more of a personal pizza (maybe if it was like pictures it wouldn’t be).
Adam Arthur: Current best Detroit Style. That’s all you’re getting so go see for yourself. It’s that’s good….

To put it in perspective, my parents are from India and they have lot of dietary restrictions and yet they enjoyed their food so much, explains a lot that this is the place for everyone. Lobster ravioli is a must try. I had a lamb pasta( I don’t remember the name of the dish). Drinks were good too! I will definitely go back to Oak and Reel and highly recommend it to everyone.

Phil E: Although not cheap, Oak and Reel is worth every penny! It truly is one of those restaurants where “you cant go wrong” with anything you order. We had the asparagus and focaccia bread to start. Best focaccia ever! Then we had the caramelle, swordfish and the tartaleta. Everything was to die for! We also enjoyed an inexpensive bottle of very tasty white wine recommended by our waiter. The waitstaff and knowledgable, friendly and attentive and give 10/10 service. We will be back here!
Debra Roman: This is a wonderful restaurant. Such a pleasant surprise. The food and service were outstanding and it won't be long until we come back. The octopus is the best that I've had so far. And everything else we had was outstanding. Would definitely recommend.Parking: There is a free lot next door. We went on a Sunday, but the lot may fill up on a Friday or Saturday.

Jeanne Peabody: Wonderful experience from start to finish. Our server was prompt, courteous, and very knowledgeable. We each ordered the 4 course meal and it was worth it. For starters we shared (we discretely shared our dishes because when something is excellent, you want your love to try it!) oysters and we both liked west coast better than east coast, and the crostini. Fantastic. For pasta we had the crab filled ravioli, and the pesto pasta with the shrimp and scallop sausage. Both were excellent. For mains we got halibut and the ribeye and while the halibut was good, the ribeye was fantastic. For dessert we had the chocolate cake and the pistachio custard and while both were yummy, the custard was the clear winner. The wine by the glass menu is comprehensive and they make a nice old fashion, too. The atmosphere was inviting and calm, but busy with very attentive workers. Parking was easy, safe, and free (right next door). The service was impeccable. One of the best meals we've ever had right here in our backyard. Yay, Detroit!

Michael Flutka: Really hit or miss meal and certainly not the experience I would have expected for +$150/pp. Our leek appetizer was excellent and the crab-stuffed caramelle pasta was delicious, but mains both fell flat. Trout was drowning in olive oil and texture of the fish bordered on mush. Steak (rib eye) entree had an odd density to it that was closer to duck and zero marbling. Service is off. Our server was very nice but it really seemed like it was his second time serving in his life. Runners didn't accurately describe some dishes and mispronounced a few of them. The gal that was acting as sommelier poured our wine so aggressively that it splashed onto the table multiple times which I've never experienced in my life. It honestly seemed like she was trying to decant it as it was coming out of the bottle! Pluses are attractive, light filled dining room, great wine list and a cute bar in the basement. I'd probably go back to share a few primi and pasta dishes at the bar, but wouldn't have a full meal until they sort out some of the kitchen and training issues.
Davis Herr-Williams: Get that tasting menu, it was incredible!!! With Lauren giving us some great service. Entire FOH team was amazing, helpful and knowledgeable. One of my favorite dining experiences

I would forgo ordering all of their cocktails. They leave a lot to be desired! Save your money and go down the street to Kiesling for a proper crafted cocktail.

Andrew G: Food was very good, with decent sized portions for the price. However, we did wait for over 1 hour for our food, while watching customers who came after us order, receive and finish their meals before we got ours. Was dissapointed in the service.
Deborah Adkins: Sweet little (literally) breakfast/brunch spot, but get there early or you will have a crazy wait in the beautiful hotel lobby adjacent.
Jacob Stock: Duck for breakfast? Yes please! Their duck hash is among the best breakfast meals that I have experienced. The balance between the duck, over-easy eggs, potates, hot sauce, pickled onions, and cilantro is nothing short of amazing.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Hash …More

Panchito Flores: Delicious sweets, I love it
Jessica Spiegelberg: We went on a Sunday morning (family of 4) waited less than an hour even though it was packed. The food was excellent no complaints at all! It was a little pricier for a breakfast place but worth it as there were limited breakfast options in the area.Eggs Benedict, french toast with fresh fruit, salmon sandwich, biscuits and gravy, and ham and cheese omelette.Kid-friendliness: Didn't offer any kids activities at the tables but the kids loved the hot chocolate.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible but seemed like it would be a squeeze or hassle with how crowded it was and the setup.
Victoria Nikol': I went here for brunch and the food was good. I had the baked potato hash with a biscuit. In which both were very delicious. We also had mimosa’s (a pitcher) which were also great. We all had different dishes but I was not about to get pictures of everyone’s meal. The menu was simplistic as far as food items to choose from and was not able to substitute items.(You can create your own omelette though, just wasn’t able to make it a skillet)But all in all my food was really good!!!

Cork & Gabel: what do users think?
Shaun “Rogan” Collins: Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot, Free street parkingMore
Araxie Zaleski: I had such a solid experience here. Our bartender was amazing and we net one of the chefs. The bartender was super knowledgeable and recommended the most amazing drinks. Entrees were amazing. My husband asked to know how they made their potatoes and we ended up meeting the chef. I couldn't be happier with my experience.
C P (Fozy Bear): First and foremost, the people here are amazing. John and Stephanie knew the history of the building, were very attentive to our needs and we had great convos with them even though it was close to afternoon closing time.THE FOOD!! OMG DELISH! I had the crab eggs Bennie and my husband had the hash omelet. The combination of flavors on the eggs Benedict just hit perfectly and his homemade jam on his delicious toast just made his morning. The building has so much history as you would expect but I will let you explore that on your own.We will be returning sooner than later as prices weren't to bad either.
Alex Mottski: Food was amazing! Service was on point! Ambiance and atmosphere was super cool! The drinks are creative and phenomenal! Smoked old fashion 10/10!!
Nkenge Reed: Very pleasant staff, the food is delicious, atmosphere cool. The prices are average for a evening dinner. I do recommend.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot, Free street parking …More
Nic R: My bestie and I love to find new and different places to dine; Cork and Gabel DID NOT DISAPPOINT. We started with the smoked wings, and although small, they were flavorful and filling. We both concluded that people have been conditioned to believe that wings are supposed to be humongous, and what they served is how a wing should look. :) We both had the lobster shrimp ravioli. It was flavorful and filling as well. The cocktails were recommended to us by our server Alex, whom I need a separate page for because he was a that amazing! But, back to the cocktails, they were perfect. I told Alex what I had a taste for, and he delivered. My bestie had the divorce or something(LOL) and she loved it. The decor and the esthetics were unique and welcoming. I loved the shape of the building. They have an outside dining area that would be perfect in the warmer months. They also have their own parking lot which was a huge plus! Now to the service, absolutely exceptional!! Our server was Alex and everything you read about him in these reviews (well everything good; I haven’t read them all. LOL) is ALL TRUE. This is the type of server you want, when trying a new spot, returning to your favorite spot, or anytime you dine out. He is phenomenal. He was attentive, knowledgeable and super friendly and cool. This guy is the truth. I hope he’s the head server and trains the others, because he’s set the bar super high.I absolutely enjoyed this place and will definitely be back. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Hands down, my latest favorite spot to dine in Corktown.
R S: Sat at bar. Bartender spoke very low and unable to hear after I told himI was deaf/HOH. He was pushing for me to get booze. C&G does not give menu as I did not know what the restaurant serve. I don’t have a scan on phone. Disappointed after a long drive on a rainy Sunday morning. Maybe I might try again after I get over this disappointment.
Brad Probert: Super cool decor, interesting beer menu. Food was decent, but not as impressive as the design/style of the place. Great waitstaff.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Giant Cinnamon Rolls …More
stephen zaremba: We attended our cousin's wedding here on Friday night and everything was Top notch! From the food to the service and the great bar staff, all was on point! True professionals at their craft pouring stellar drinks and knowledge of a variety of libations. I would definitely recommend this venue as a place to dine and hang out. It's a great venue to have a wedding reception, shower or any other special event! Everything was extremely professional and it's extremely accessible. I will definitely be coming back in the future...Cheers!
dan s: Very good, the host Matt was very helpful and had great suggestions. We had the trio dip, short ribs, shrimp and lobster ravioli and really good cocktail called ground for divorce.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Parking options Free parking lot …More

Fee Greene: The food was great. Alex, our waiter was awesome, but I did not like the fact that it was a $20 outside dessert fee. The Mgr was kind enough to remove the fee. I look forward to dining there in the coming months!!Wheelchair accessibility: I use a walker. There were two handicap spaces that were visible from where I parked. A wide gate from the parking lot gave me plenty of room to walk to the doorway of the restaurant, so I had no problem entering and going straight to our reserved table. The tables were also spaced far enough apart that my walker did not interfere with waitstaff or patrons walking from table to table.
Andrew: Fantastic experience every time I come here especially for brunch. The vibe and mood of the staff is always so welcoming and the food always comes out so quick, tastes, amazing, and just hits the spot. Definitely get an order of the cinnamon buns when you're there. This will always be a top 5 place for brunch.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Paul Adam Mayer: Food ate a little greasy, but really wonderful ambience and live music. I feel like there’s better food in the area, but nothing wrong with this place whatsoever
Andy Dold: Great atmosphere and tremendous foodFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Kai H: My family and I had brunch here on Saturday and it was one of the best experiences. First of all the food was so delicious. My boyfriend and I agree that the pancakes here are the best we have ever had. The corned beef hash was so good and not from a can. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. The food also came out very quickly, even though it was busy. We will be back.

The Whitney: what do users think?
Kevin Metro (Metro): Had a fantastic time at the tea brunch with my wife. The fare was quite reasonable for what we received and our waiter was fantastic. The savory scone was by far the best part and interestingly they said that it was new.
Lisa Boughton: Awesome venue and their beef wellington is exceptional. The only reason I did not give a 5 on the food was because the cake was quite dry on all of our desserts.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes The Beef Wellington, Food Service …More
Jasmine Irani: The Whitney Mansion is a beautiful property with a lot of history. I visited the Ghost Bar on the 3rd floor and ordered the "Witching Hour" drink. It was supposed to be layered tableside, however, the mixologist looked at me from behind the bar (as though I didn't know) and made the drink at the bar. Also, the staff encourages the exploration of the mansion and the area around it (horse stables, garden, exterior of mansion, etc.). But while observing the exterior of the mansion for it's architecture, I was told to wait around in the garden at the front as though I was being suspicious. I didn't like being treated like that.
Crystal Marie: I thoroughly enjoyed the tea service at the Whitney. The staff was amazing, and I got rave reviews on my hat selection (tea time.always requires a hat, lol). The tea menu was delicious and just enough bites to accompany the tea and mimosa. YES! You heard right tea AND mimosa! We drank tea as my girlfriend and I spilled some tea too! Will definitely be returning. I wish they still did their brunch on Sundays.
Deborah Adkins: Attended a private dinner event in this beautiful historic mansion. The food was outstanding!

Laura Santo: We celebrated our 29th anniversary and our friends 1st anniversary at the Whitney. A wonderful experience from the time we arrived, until we left. Everyone from the valet, to the piano man, to our waiter was amazing, attentive, and professional. The food was excellent. Nancy Vadasz: Very disappointed in the food and service. The beef in beef Wellington was cook very good but the pastry was very doughy, the vegetables were quite raw. The dessert was dried yellow cake with ganache on top. As I looked around I saw many plates left behind with this dessert only half eaten. The server bought out dishes before we were finished with the plate at hand. The table was messy with crumbs and no service to clean was attempted.Needless to say, we will not be returning!
taylor shipp: Well, the service was okay but the food wasn’t the best. Sent back the beef Wellington three times but it was still rare and had pink. However, the staff was very friendly.

I had a date here earlier in the year & recently came back with him as my boyfriend. From the red carpet - to being escorted in by a friendly worker - this restaurant has become one of my favorite places to dine in. You're not only paying for quality food, but an intimate atmosphere and top notch service.I've gotten to glimpse the gardens but haven't been to the ghost bar [yet.]I'm not in the habit of taking photos of my food but best believe it looked good, tasted even better, and I rarely eat meat.I love it here.
