Loreta Geneviciute: Amazing restaurant ! My husband and I visited this place September of 2022 and we both agreed that we will come back to Detroit just to eat at this place again. We love all the food we had and drinks were delicious! If you ever visit Detroit this place should be at the top of your restaurant list.

Stephanie O'Callaghan: Since it opened, it’s been one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Always meets or exceeds expectations. Love the vibe, the decor, etc and more importantly love the food. It’s fresh and creative, flavorful and doesn’t sit heavy. I like the Mediterranean vibe but they don’t limit themselves creatively. The pastas are always phenomenal. The veggie dishes delicious and thoughtful. I love sitting at the chefs counter and watching them work the open fire and coal oven spaces. Great beverage list too! Highly recommend. I always stop here when I’m in the area.

Alex: One of the best dining experiences I've had in Michigan. Started off with the cocktail called immediate detour. I was pleasantly surprised how tasty the drink was given I'm usually underwhelmed by restaurant cocktails. The food was amazing. I was able to try the green salad, roasted broccoli, roasted pasnips, roasted potatoes, cacio e pepe, chittara, and beef tartare. All were excellent, but the pastas (cacio e pepe and chittara) and the roasted potatoes were my favorite. I tried the horchata tres leche cake for dessert. I've never tried this style of cake before and I wasn't a big fan, but it was good to try something new. I also tasted a bit of the pecan pie -- highly recommended. Looking forward to trying this place out again.

Todays Present: This was a perfect dining experience. Ryan is the best waiter. After coming here again, I will request him every time. He gives excellent recommendations and his descriptions ensure there are no surprises. I loved everything we had here. The sweet potato pasta and the mushrooms were my absolute favorite. The broccoli was great, but very spicy. The duck on toast was divine! The tri tip and the raspberry tart were just okay (I wouldn't order again). I enjoyed having the dining room reservation, the communal reservation would be too loud/close and not my type of experience. The scallops were spicy but irresistible. The hake is the only thing I’ve ever tried here that did not meet the standards of the rest of the food. It was mushy and inedible. I wasn’t told if this was a fluke or by design. But I would not recommend the hake.

Their behavior was racist and very upsetting— I will never return!! Must be new management — I did not see the folks who were always gracious and welcoming. Nicole T: Am I the only one confused by all these 4 star reviews?? I think it’s by childless millennial hipsters who think they are dining in an upscale Manhattan atmosphere. I found NOTHING about this place appealing - except the waitress who was very kind and attentive. The menu is extremely overpriced with froufrou stuff and small portions. And how are charging over $20 for vegetables?? $18 for some cooked cheese? Tiny little portions . We had 3 “‘meals” and shared 3 appetizers and still weren’t full. To top it off, I got extreme food poisoning from there. I don’t mind paying more for a good dinner, but at least include some sides and have more salad choices. Not very impressed in the least bit. The agrodolce and lemon yogurt works really well with the lamb. The green sauce elevates the grilled chicken flavor. Both the cod & bass were awesome! Donald Radabaugh: I always brag about Lumen. Never had a bad experience until Wednesday night. Food quality dropped and prices rose. The prices now don't match the product and the quality has never been lower. I could write a novel about this experience but I'll just say I hope whatever changes have been recently made are reversed. It will be a good, long while before I return. I skittish about Lumen now. Todays Present: We loved our dinner here. And we really enjoyed the service. Brianna was a superb waitress. I appreciated that she has tried everything on the menu and was able to give helpful insight. She genuinely wanted us to enjoy our meal and experience. The pasta with salmon was delicious! I really enjoyed the flavors and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The burger was very flavorful with the softest bun. The calamari was just okay...I wouldn't order it again. Mac and cheese was great and the brownies were the perfect treat especially warmed up! I would absolutely come again and recommend to others.

joe31400: I heard really good things about this place, but I had a terrible experience. First off, the waiter seemed very rude, didn’t seem like she wanted to be working. Her service was good, but she didn’t wanna talk, nor did she seem happy to be working. The chicken wing seemed to be old as they were very chewy, never once have I had chewy wings. The burgers that were ordered well done were also burned and my friend that ordered medium got his well done. The only thing I enjoyed here was the meatballs and the fires. Overall, the atmosphere is very nice inside, but the food wasn’t good for the price.

Nick Horlock: Definitely coming back here! The restaurant is beautifully designed, delicious food, and some of the best service we have had in a very long time. We ordered the lamb chops, filet, eggplant toast and maitake mushrooms for appetizers (incredible!)As we were leaving the owner came to the table and said we needed to try their signature trileces dessert, and he gave it to us for free! My wife’s grandfather favorite desert was this, so it plucked on the heart strings. Then Alex the manager and incredible server for us gave us a wonderful gift (image attached). We will be coming back here with friends very soon!

Melissa Behring: Excellent options for small plate, sharing and or dining alone, and or in a large group or a couple. Their service was excellent and they had an amazing wine selection as well. Our server was attentive and we were able to get in and out well before our need to be at the little Caesars arena for a very popular concert later that night. It’s only a 15 to 20 minute walk or a 7 to 10 minute Uber ride depending upon your spry-ness.

Jill Zachmann: Immature Upscale Dining.Upscale dining is not only about the quality of food, it includes ambience and the overall dining experience. My husband made reservations a week prior making note that it was my birthday and a special occasion. We were greeted by a host and seated at the smallest bistro table in the restaurant near the Front door located in the bar area. We asked if they could provide us with a more suitable table for this occasion. We were told unfortunately nothing was available but they could accommodate us to a bar high top (As of the bar was a better option!?!). We decided to leave and book a reservation at a more seasoned establishment.For a dining experience costing $300 plus this is far from acceptable and this experience speaks for itself.Their menu clearly states, “Our guests before ourselves”, however I experienced quite the opposite.

Sharon Jones: Do not be dismayed by the well written menu. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance. The food was very good and the service was even better. The parking was in a lot across the street but Besa offers a small validation fee. Ava was our hostess and she was very accommodating. She even made me a special drink! I ordered the chicken breast dish with some moderate changes and the tres leches cake... Delish!10 out of 10 recommend
