Samantha Barsotti: I went in to have my watch battery changed. Several days went by and they still don't have my watch finished. I called a few times and they kept telling me to call back. I finally contacted customer service and they told me there was an issue with my watch and it was sent to the factory and now I won't have it for another 14 plus days. I was also told by a shinola employee to look on amazon for a watch band since they don't carry my size band anymore. A pretty disappointing in store experience. Especially to spend a large amount of money on a specialty watch just to be told to shop for an 11$ band on amazon because they don't make the size band I need anymore.

We purchased an attractive watch for "her" and a slim RFID security wallet for "him" with designs that we both like.May 2022 update: the Birdy watch stopped keeping accurate time 10 months after we bought it. I thought it was a battery issue, but the rep in the store stated there are multiple issues with the movement. The local store had to send the watch to the factory for an assessment using analysis tools they did not have in-store at Canfield. I will give a few stars for the watch design and customer service experience so far, but I just cannot recommend a watch that stopped working in less than one year. I do believe they will make this right, but this is our first Shinola purchase, and it does not give me confidence in the Shinola brand. While we were in the store looking at new products, we loved the gorgeous design of the Diamond Petoskey Book watch. We seriously considered buying it, but I can't imagine shelling out $2,900 if I have low confidence in the operational quality.October 2022 update: After another 5 months, the watch stopped keeping accurate time AGAIN. Same issue as before, so they sent it to the factory for repair. The only good thing I can say is that they stand behind their products with warranty repairs, but the quality is just not there. Will not buy another Shinola product, and I'm tired of driving from the suburbs to the Canfield location for repair. Dropping another star for my review.

E. B. Snodgrass: Service is wonderful but if you are on a normal working man's budget, you are just looking. I know you pay for quality and service, but even I get some sticker shock. It would be an item you can use most of your life and will to someone, but how many can the average working person really afford. Maybe that is why you don't see a large crowd in any of their stores.

Michael Zimmermann: I was on a business trip for my first time in Detroit. Several people recommended we check out this store. We set an appointment and had the pleasure of working with Gabrielle. Three of us went in and came out with four watches. She helped us find what we we liked and try on different bands. She was very helpful in finding a watch to bring back for my wife as a gift. Love the story behind the brand as well.

Bob Bobb: I bought 3 watches in 2 trips to the Canfield store. One $850, another $1,000 and a third as a gift for $1,500. The middle one is the one I wear, and it has a couple small issues. The start/stop button for the stopwatch feature stays stuck down, so you can't use the stopwatch, and also the crown is often found to have come out one notch, which stops the watch from running, so you can't rely on it to tell time.I went into the Canfield store where I bought them to have it serviced in Feb of '22, and they couldn't help me. It took 10 min to talk to any of the 3 people in the service area (one who was working on watches, the other 2 just standing at the counter). Keep in mind, I was one of 2 customers in the entire store, and there were 6 employees in total.Finally after 10-12 minutes I was told it probably had to go to the factory. I said "Fine, let's do that". But the young man was confused, and didn't think they could take in a watch for service. He finally suggested I drive all thee way down to the Shinola Hotel, and they could probably take it in for service there. I didn't have that kind of time.6 employees for 2 customers and they can't even take in a watch for service?

Gavriel Ross: When my wife and i first walked into the store, we were overwhelmed with strong and mixed perfume scents. It was terrible. Once we got past that, we asked a store employee for directions through the store. Two had no idea about the layout. Once we got where we were going, the folks there obviously hated their job. They were more than just rude. Probably because this particular person was upset that we had to take her away from her screen. Also very over priced. We went to another store and found the exact same brands for less.

Toilet seat was loose, latch on the toilet stall door was missing, sinks are dirty (at 6:30 am), paper towel of different type for the dispenser. Looks like the management does not do their work properly.

Robin Monterosso: Got there an hour before closing; could not use fitting rooms, and the people that had greeted us as we walked into the men’s clothing area disappeared immediately not to be seen again. Shirt selection is not what it used to be! Our cashier was helpful and a really lovely lady. Usually I can find what I need in men’s clothing there and it’s a go-to, but overall this last visit was lackluster. However, my 23 yo son was thrilled that they have “dress slacks” in the super slim fit. Good thing he was wearing shorts and could sort of try the pants on over the shorts; I might have walked away in frustration otherwise. I do have to return the shirt he could not try on before purchasing.

Large shirts on small hangers, misplaced items everywhere. The cases on the Kate Spade phones slide open and the packaging remains intact so you can put it back probably because people want to make sure the case fits their phone before they buy it. I was in electronics making sure the case would fit my phone with a cart full of items. I was not greeted or acknowledged till the employee in electronics chastised me for making sure the case would fit my phone.On a separate occasion the same employee ignored me and did not help me while I was looking for a fire stick and trying to figure out which HDMI chord to purchase for my television.

I love the new grocery area, the food prices are actually really great. The store is stocked much better than it used to be, which is always a good thing. Its much cleaner, more organized. My only criticism is the general lackadaisical demeanor of the cashiers and customer service desk. It's like they move at the pace of someone who is lounging, like someone who is strolling a cruise ship lido deck after a 7 course meal; the timeliness of someone scrolling social media in their PJs on a Sunday morning. That is the best way I can describe it. I mean, they are almost always moving so slow, meanwhile there's a growing line of people that have places to be, things to do. I'm not referring to aby jind of disability or impairment, I'm talking about all of their movements. Its like watching a YT video at half speed, or less.

Kaytee Kliemann: I was really hoping to give the place a whopping zero stars because this is the most bass ackwards run store I have ever set foot in. My wedding ring had a stone fall out, I had the stone and the ring. The lady who took my ring said that when they send it to the jewelers for fixing they will also tighten and retip the other prongs and proceeded to charge me $110 saying I was getting a "deal". Ring was promised back by 8/15 or before. I called on 8/16 inquiring about the location of my ring. Come to find out they have not done anything other than further damage my wedding ring! A family heirloom. They said now that the stone that fell out was chipped. There was no mention of this before at all. In fact the receipt specifically says no chips or damage. When I asked how this could be the lady on the phone said that the jeweler looks under the stone... If the stone was out of the ring it was 100% visible to the lady at the counter. Now they are saying I need to pay an addition $190 to get this fixed and it would be another few weeks before I saw my jewelry. Upon teller the rude lady on the phone I want a full refund and my ring back she says I won't be getting my ring for about another week and HUNG UP ON ME! Do not go to Kay jewelers. They will damage your property and rob you at the same time!

No one was around and I didn’t see a sign to wait for the attended so I ran in to make sure they fit and an older African American female ran up to my door demanding that I need to bring everything out that I brought in as if I was stealing. I was so dumbfounded that the fundamental customer service skills were absent in this women. She really knew how to make someone feel extremely uncomfortable for absolutely no reason. She didn’t explain to me why she she said what she said she just stared me down like I insulted her. I really hope someone has a chat on good customer service with her. I will take my chances and just return it if things don’t fit .

She didn't even wait for a replacement. He was so helpful and kind and went above and beyond to help me. He wasn't even phased by the crazy line and crabby customers.
