Nikki J: The staff is extremely rude. They act as if the check out process isn't their actual job. I watched as I shopped each customer that politely requested and waited for assistance to purchase their items and everytime each girl at the register had an attitude. When it was finally time for me to checkout I made an attempt to be overly polite, still the same rudeness and attitude. J R F: To be honest, I haven’t been in what is now The Peacock Room in about 55 years, but I still have fond memories of this lovely place. My mother was a model for Julie’s Dress Shop (the predecessor of The Peacock Room) in the late ‘50s and early ‘60s, and I remember going there with her many times as a child. (I still have an original gift box from the store- see photo; I wish I still had some of my mom’s beautiful original clothes/hats/accessories from there too!) In fact, my parents named me Julie, partly in honor of the store and partly in honor of Julie Andrews. My parents were big fans of Broadway musicals and we saw many shows at the glorious Fisher Theater. At any rate, I am so glad to see that you have revived the reputation and beauty of this lovely shop. It looks just like I remember it from the ‘60s. ❤️

This time I visited the store (a couple days ago on Sunday December 11) inside the Park Shelton because I needed a vintage 1920's Harlem Renaissance dress for a gala on Saturday December 17. There was a nice selection in different styles and colors that fit well within the amount that I wanted to spend. In fact, I ended up purchasing my silver glittery dress, jeweled headband with feather, and a gorgeous silver and black lacy stole all for just under $200. And Sarah (not sure if this is the correct spelling, maybe Sara) was wonderful! She was helpful, gave advice based on fit, my event, and the look I was going for, and so patient. Even as closing time arrived she wanted to make sure I had what I was looking for.The Peacock Room is a class act not just in their amazing merchandise, but in the top notch customer care!P.S. My gloves (which matched perfectly!) were either my grandmother's or my great aunt's from Crowley's department store, my earrings were my mom's, and my shoes, pearls, and bracelets were in my closet.

Sara Zalewski: I was in the market for a Great Gatsby-like dress for New Year's Eve and I remembered browsing this place when I was at the Fisher Theatre before so decided to try here. What an excellent dress shop. They had all the right dresses and accessories (they also have dresses from other eras). The staff was the most helpful collection of ladies I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with in a retail setting. Sarah, I believe was her name, went above and beyond helping me find the right dress with the right fit and the perfect matching headband. I cannot thank her enough. Highly recommend trying them for adorably unique vintage clothing at reasonable prices!

Starpointe Photography: This is one of the newer stores located in the strip mall on the Southeast corner of 8 mile and Woodward. I was in the store for about 13min and at no point did either of the 2 employees say a word to me. The store isn't that big , so I'm sure they saw me. One half of the store is for plus which cool but it's hard to shop comfortably. Racks are over packed and too close together.

This place doesn't let you try on clothes at all (pre dating covid19 mind you). The women that work here are so nasty to you when asking questions. It's only like your job ma'ams. Then not only do they Not let you keep the hangers, the cashier balled up my clothes and threw them in the bag. I bought a tiara as well. Asked her to put it in a jewelry bag. She stated we don't have those, but we have these.
