US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission-Field Office: what do users think?
Jessica K: I will be contacting EEOC Washington DC main office. I’m not here to play cat and mouse if your office doesn’t want to help don’t call my phone leave a message and ignore my attempts on reaching out. I have proof of the incident and this is my second attempt of returning the case manager’s call to conduct an interview. Its been a week nothing but crickets. Just know people are people and some people don’t want you winning a lawsuit. I saved my call logs. Treat people how you want people to treat your loved one who might be harassed and discriminated against on a job.
Matthew Whitfield: WORST STAFF EVER!
Candance Perkins: My situation occurred 09/22 and I have yet to have an appointment because the line is busy or there is no appointment available. I am since then needing of assistance and I’m not sure how to go about this.
Josh El: Don't waste your time, they have no resources to deal with the amount of cases they get, you need actual proof of discrimination, something you can show, like email or texts which is a rare mistake for employer to make. They won't help unless it's obvious and easy to prove in court, the employer will be innocent until proven guilty, remember that. Employers usually know their facilities better than the employees so they know where to talk and behave without being recorded, even if there are cameras they will often not be in working condition, just there to make you feel watched.
Romonica X: Been trying to make an appointment for 3 MONTHS and still nothing. Call and finally get a rep and am told to just keep checking daily for a spot. It's not that job discrimination has gotten better, it's that there is no sufficient way to report it to whom and where it needs to be reported to. Going on 4 months now waiting to file a complaint.Edit: Guys, after 5 MONTHS I was FINALLY able to schedule an interview. Try checking early morning hours if you have not already. I'm assuming appointments drop at midnight because I checked yesterday morning (6am ish) and nothing was there. Was up this morning because I couldn't sleep so I decided to check around 4am and there was a SINGLE green box to snag an appointment. Appointment isn't until January but better than waiting another 5 MONTHS.Edit: Had my interview yesterday and was informed by the rep I spoke with that they were going to move forward with filing a charge. I wake up this morning and they closed inquiry instead! Even if you get through to the interview they will STILL do you dirty.
Tyrone Davidson: EEOC claims to "continue to vigorously pursue justice", but has discovered how to "avoid" pursuing any cases by using "Technology Schemes to Close Your Case" - They gave me an "Interview Appointment" (four months out) - Gave me a "Reminder Date" (press Y to confirm; I did), sent me a "Cancel Notice" stating I didn't answer the "Reminder Date" and then "Closes the Case" - - - Contacted the Field Office and they "Never" Return My Call" (gave them the precise dates of my compliance with its agency, via voicemail) . . . This current EEOC system is truly undermining the American Citizens its supposed to serve and is a continuation of the injustices a citizen receives through discrimination. - - - I'm going to refile my case.
Yvonne Harris: I do not know what to say about this agency. They work from home do not return phone calls and exhibit a very antagonistic behavior when taking information from clients. They separated three cases and gave them to different investigators. Had plenty of evidence age and race discrimination clearly outlined in the complaint. All we have done is play phone tag. They can't or wont help. The website needs a complete overhaul. Judging by these BAD reviews on several websites, it is clear that they lack empathy training and professionalism. Management needs to get these people to do their jobs!
Jeremy Rocker: Is the phone off the hook all day long? Busy dial tone..Do we pay you to work or not?
Tariq Mohamed: Non working phone number.
Cynthia Y.: Yrs ago I walked in got help. Sounds like they changed I need them now
B LeJean: This place is a joke. The lack of ability to schedule an interview and excessive hold times by staff members working from home, they are siding with employers making it difficult to take action and promote change. It's April and there are no appointments through Sept. Their response is to keep looking for an open spot. When you call and wait for eternity, the representatives do not have access to the calendar to make the appointments.
Deth Byte: Doesn't seem like they do anything since covid is paying them to stay home... 🤔 can't even schedule an appointment get fired for a supervisor making up lies because I caught him in affair and union won't represent me because I'm not the same skin color. 🙃
Kenneth McCarty McCarty: Great work by our federal government three months before u may even get in interviews sob ain’t worth spit
Gloria Pizzo: For past 4 weeks, the website continues to show no available appointments to schedule an interview. I have emailed to inform of lack of follow through. I have called up to 24 times a day to get assistance with either no pick up, or the phone call does not connect. On a couple occasions I was able to leave I voice mails and have not heard back. This is typical of our state services.
Tiona Campbell: THIS BRANCH OF EEOC MAY TAKE BRIBES FROM LARGE COMPANIES AND ORGANIZATIONS!!!!!!!!PLEAS BEWARE!!Please DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. This branch does not do proper investigations on the behalf of the complaining employee. They conduct an lackadaisical investigation, and take the company's statement as GOLD. They don't let you combat the lies or the discrepancies that the company provides. They AUTOMATICALLY assume you're lying even if evidence proves otherwise.
Mikiblu Empoweringu: I filed a legitimate complaint, they contacted the employer who lied and the case was closed without me being able to disprove their lies, which I could have done with current employees. How is this process equal? If you are going to accept a lie, and not follow up with the employee to allow them to disprove, why file?
SeriphAngel (SeriphAngel): I do not believe that the workers at this establishment truly care about cases they receive. They do not really look for any evidence nor do they listen to what the clients are actually trying to inform them. The experience I had with them was beyond poor and I had been warned by many others prior to entering my case of their poor methods and sheer lack of care but chose to not believe it and believe they had my best interest in mind only to in the end be highly disappointed.
Jennifer Schluter: They are very helpful, follow through with you, and answer your questions
Jane Doe: Just attempted to complete an interview with an "investigator" who didn't listen, got angry with me, and talked over me the entire five minutes. Save your energy and just get an attorney. The woman was completely incompetent and tried to say things back to me that I said, getting them all seriously wrong. Run from here!
Kathy McCarthy: Approximately 3-1/2 years ago, I filed a complaint of age discrimination with EEOC Detroit against my former employer. Due to the hard work of my investigator, Kimberly Nicholson, my case was recently settled out of court. I am grateful to Ms. Nicholson for her dedication and persistence while working with an arrogant, difficult employer. Because she was able to find cause for age discrimination, my case was settled with a favorable outcome.
Sheila Hill: Still waiting on mediation since2/20/2019......

Detroit at Work Career Center - SER Metro: what do users think?
Nichelle Heard: This is a complete waste of time I will not recommend anyone to this place I filled out my entire life then took a test then they played me I will never recommend to anyone f Detroit
D'Sharriah Webster: Employees are not very knowledgeable and will give you the run around THEN say they don’t know. I find it hard to believe NO ONE in the office knows how the programs work, if so they need to clean up house and start over. They’re all (with the exception of a few I’ve met) lazy and useless.
Ma Dukes: This program is a joke. Detroiters deserve better. If I had no other options, this “service” would have left me homeless. That’s how lax the personnel are and how unhelpful the whole program turned out to be. Thank GOD I didn’t put all my eggs in this basket. There needs to be an inspection of what exactly goes on within Detroit at Work because this experience was terrible at best. And I’m being generous.
Felipe Ibarra Galvan: Excelente servicio y muy amables
Elizabeth E.: Friendly staff been with them for years they help the community out depending on your situation.
Jamal Harden: Extremely helpful and showed understanding and patience
Simon Seville: Positive:Professionalism
Ben Ali: My advise go to another location not the one. They are unhelpful
mason “Muss” Local: Nobody help me this for nothing
Kimberly Edwards: Great staff.
Anthony Fuller: Very helpful nice people great way to find a job
Joanne Miller: Helped my son with employment during the summer
ms blk: Meyers location a big joke! These people are very unprofessional from the director & the manager Taniesha on down! Recently, there was a training program called B SEED, reading the brochure i meet all the requirements. I took the gains test, they sent me to concentra for a drug test (which i passed) then days before the the training they told me i couldnt participate in the training. I was never given a solid reason that i couldnt do the B SEED training. I contacted the director as well as the manager, the manager Taniesha told me she would call B SEED to find out if all the requirements on brochure was correct and i never heard anything back from the manager Taniesha. That was in May, its Sept. Today Sept27 I asked to see her, i was told she would call me with a time to see her. Here you have a person ready and willing to work with no oppurtunity and when it was a oppurtunity knocked all of a sudden it was snatched with no explanation. At this point I feel like a signature with these people. They take people thru too much unnecessarily! In order to get funding for a class ur put thru unnecessary hoops. Put the people to work or training thats wanting and willing to work! Ive personally been working w this particular DESC for almost 2 yrs w no luck😣😞😔I have exprience in customer service, direct care & construction and w all the construction going on in Detroit its almost like those type of jobs is or should be a given. I guess racking in on our signatures is way more important than actually employing detroit residents.
Renarldo Sanford: Terrible service and experience, there not organized and don't like to pay you program needs to discontinued. Plus they always cause confusion
Jakayla Oglesby: I dont know what is my Referral code
Bob Bobb: Completely useless.I'm an employer looking for an office person. Been calling them for more than 2 months. They have not forwarded even one application or resume to me. I have spoken to two different people there. This used to be a terrific service in 2005 - 2007 ish. Then Detroit brought it in-house,.. and it was worthless. (One agent would only forward people to me that were friends of his just getting out of prison). Now it is farmed out again,.. but zero progress has been made by this new group in months. I find it hard to believe that there's not one single person looking for an easy desk job with a TV, A?C and a fridge at more than $10 an hour.
Frank Howard: I have interacted with DESC for a couple of years now. That is the problem, still nothing. Then I recently completed a program with the assurance of a grant in order to proceed directly to my chosen core training program. Now I'm being told that I have to wait for funding. All of this should have been conveyed at the onset. I find it hard to believe that a grant would be provided only to pay salaries to directors, ceos', facilitators, managers, etc, to train and or perform a service, that leads to nothing for a significant portion of the population. Its foul, and leaves a bad taste in the mouth with we hear another person's story. Investigations, fines, and incarceration are what needed.

US Labor Department Wage & Hour Division: what do users think?
Tyler b: Complete waste of our federal tax dollars filed a complaint 5 months ago and they still haven't found an investigator to follow through with my case... Funny part is my job is a Davis bacon contract which is a FEDERALLY FUNDED contract which is supposed to be regulated often so basically employers can do whatever they want so make sure your employed at a honest company cause our GOVERNMENT could care less... But they will be sure to get there portion of taxes
BloodBatteredWings: I love how they care for people here. My job was discremenating against me based on my fmla needs and the Asian lady that worked here took care of everything for me and it was just a smooth transition from how I was being treated at my job to how they were suppose to be treating me. And that's after the union said it's nothing they could do and told me to give up.

Karina Cannon: I see by reading other reviews through other years the front Desk’s was very friendly but when I went upstairs to the Michigan Works Office, The, First Ladies approach me, was very friendly and kind, and was willing to help but after she left for the day, I had to finish up with Maria Coceres if that’s the correct name she gave me (I don’t think so)she was very rude disrespectful argumentative I felt because I was a Afro American. She had a problem .I addressed on her behavior .A couple of times she act no different.
Frank Wilson: Terrible service never go again
Matt Ronewicz: I had the pleasure of being greeted with a smile and a kind warm welcome from Maritza as I arrived to sign in. She kept the office, supplies and every computer station extremely clean and sanitary. Although it was peak business hours and quite busy, she was very attentive, helpful and informative with servicing each guest. I appreciated her genuine care to help others, her polite attitude and thorough dedication to process each guest timely and effectively. At the end of my visit, she made sure I understood the proceeding steps, relative information and timeline I would be required to follow before releasing me.
Ekram Shaker: Clean, quick and efficient service
raniibo1: Very nice and professionalAdd to it honesty
Just Schwiggz: The operator hung up on me as I was telling her why I was calling.... You need to fire her before you get sued
Lola Lee: As an African American woman, the Hispanic lady was very discriminatory towards me and it showed. She did not want to help me. She had me standing waiting for a while when I first came in, before she addressed me. Then finally said sign in, in which I had BEEN did that, of course. I told her I did sign in, she still had me standing there before she finally assisted me. She was stand-offish, rude, and did not want to help me or give me clarification on anything. Even when I called to make an appointment, the lady asked “you know you are calling the Dearborn location right.” Needless to say, I left out feeling defeated.
B S: Very poorly run by Arabs, no speak English good
Joe Adams: Have to register there for work nice place !
Ali Kanso: very nice servicethank you so much
Pcornelius@google.com Cagacity: The employees gave me all the help in the world 🌍
