Rebecca S: I don’t know how this place isn’t a solid 5 stars, but it should be. I don’t usually love bakery cake, this is the only bakery I’ve every been to that I ate alllll the frosting. The buttercream tastes homemade, and is the perfect cake/frosting ratio. Anyone calling this cake dry must not know that cake made with butter with be firm & seem dry when chilled; you need to eat at room temperature. They even offer to bring it up to room temp when you order, and it was very soft and moist. The sweetness is perfect, not overwhelmingly sugary, but perfectly sweet. I had the birthday cake cake, which was delicious, and we got a cookie butter cinnamon roll to go and ate it a day & a half later, and it was still fresh and AMAZING. I really thought it would be way too rich and was thinking we should have stuck with a plain cinnamon roll, but again, perfect. No dry outside without enough frosting, every bite was the perfect ratio of frosting to cinnamon to cookie butter. It’s a good thing I don’t live nearby or I’d go broke and gain 50 pounds in a month. Came back the next day for coffee (iced caramel brûlée latte), and even though I’m not a huge coffee person, I could taste the quality. I’m regretting not getting any cookies or brownies to try those, too. I’ll definitely be back, may even make a special trip. If you’re looking to try a new bakery, you need to go here, you will not regret it.

zana snell: I ordered my cake for my birthday with them and I got two flavors triple berry and strawberry short cake. I got my kids to help sample just in case I didn’t like the flavors. I never had anything from them before my kids LOVED them all! I saw some reviews on how some people stated it was dry but I was asked if I would like my cake warmed up before even getting the cake as you could tell they keep the cakes cooled to keep them fresh. The texture was moist and you could tell before eating the slices! Thank you guys for the mystery shopping/review experience! The customer service was great! My son even loved it he stayed the cashier was very nice! I can’t wait to get my birthday cake when the time comes!

Sophia: This place is amazing! I come here at least once a week. The cookies are always extremely fresh, the macaroons are amazing, the cake variety is perfect and the cinnamon rolls are amazing! They offer to warm them up in the store for you as well. The workers are always nice and welcome as well as answer any questions there is. The cookies are overall my favorite. The parking is usually really easy to find and the walk is always close. They have a good size indoor and outdoor seating accommodating for large or small parties. They also have an amazing gluten free pastry section.

The Butter Cookie Cinnamon roll fulfilled my sweet tooth for the next year. I would 10/10 recommend if you want any sweet treat in southeast Michigan, come here. You need no other bakery.

I had a London Fog that came out great and then I got a special Avalon Brunch Burger that honestly was one of the best brunch burgers I’ve had in awhile. It was enough to pay back the overcharge but I thank them for the gesture.The food was good, but I was a bit surprised when I looked at my bank account. Turned out they charged 6usd more above the tip I gave already. In the end I payed almost a 50% tip. That's just weird business imo. I don't mind tips and high tips when it's good, but charging extra without notice is just not done.

The employees seemed cold and slow to respond to basic things like the coffee dispenser being empty. Lastly, I found a flying insect tucked inside a lettuce leaf. Jan-Andreas Froese Matos: This is a seriously good cafe, in a great location in the heart of Detroit. They have more food variety than you may think when you first walk in, just take a look at their menu! A good variety of coffee, some beer on tap, wine and cocktails.They make delicious breakfast food, with a special highlight in my opinion when it comes to the breakfast pizza. I wasn’t expecting much as it doesn’t really seem like a pizza place, but boy was I wrong. It was easily top 3 best breakfast pizzas I ever had (foto won’t do justice!).So whether you just need a coffee to go, or want to hang out, this is the place to go for some warm good food. Majority of the staff were very friendly and nice but the baristas are classic baristas, rude and dismissive. Cpuld not make a latte to save their lives. Did not understand what Breve meant. Order fpur shots in a 12oz and kept getting a 16oz cup of poorly steamed milk with a shot poured over for color.Food is fire and most of the staff are great but don't bother with the coffee.

I bake, so I know quality goods. JUST like there’s a fashion BAKED goods place in our area that uses boxed cake mix. I bought four different items but only two pictures are attached. I bought a vegan brownie for a coworker who I asked to give me her honest opinion…she loved the vegan brownie. She said it was delicious and moist; she’d definitely have it again. I shared a spinach, tomato, feta quiche with my sister and she loved it (I wanted it to have more feta, that’s just me). I treated myself to TWO slices of rum cake and a slice of lemon velvet cake. Baaaby, when I tell you that I was excited about my choices. I know I shouldn’t buy a whole cake or go there every week, but I have absolutely found my new bakery for when I want sweets that meet both my approval and desires. The rum cake has the perfect amount of rum; my hand is a little heavier. That lemon velvet cake…I deserved every moist morsel of the three layer cake with real frosting. Rename the place … GREAT CAKES AND BAKES…grandma’s spirit is in the kitchen.

I decided to make 2 purchases this time. The red velvet cake wasn't that good to me. What I like about management here is that they are willing to provide me with another slice of cake for any inconvenience. I do believe the bakery should start doing samples of their baked goods so customers can see if it's to their liking.

Be Love: How is it that I didn’t no about this place sooner? The staff is AMAZING and so was the cake. I was running behind and needed to get a cake for my nephew. And even though it was 5:55pm and they closed at 6:00pm they stayed open just for me to pick up the cake. Sugar Buzz has gained a permanent customer here. LaDawn (head baker) is a genius. The level of dedication and mastery to the craft is without exception. She is a sorceress of vegan sweets. This is peak vegan deserts, and I hope her methods and philosophy will spread around the world. The brownies are chewy, and flavorful. The doughnut filling actually has taste. The macarons have dimension. The Michigander Bar is life changing.Sugarbuzz, don't stop, spread this delight far and wide.

They are insistent about mask use and because of that my father could not join me inside when we visited. He has copd and trouble breathing in masks.For a plain small (8") frozen vegan gluten free chocolate cake it is $75! I realized the actual price too late because I had asked for one after I thought the employee said through their mask that it was $55. I can tell you with certainty that it was not worth the money. Everything else there is more reasonably priced. However of the treats I have tried from them, I only recommend the Faygo red velvet cake, rice crispy treats, and paczkis.

Nina Ayers: My son has an egg allergy so I sought out a vegan bakery. I ordered a custom cake and with this process you had to send in a picture for reference my order was reviewed accepted, and approved. I ordered a Charlie Brown cake for my sons birthday photo shoot and received a disaster instead. I got a yellow cake with a brown line through it. What I requested and what I got was not similar at all. I called to speak to the manager and they were unavailable. They never called me back and now my emails have went unanswered.
