Oudolf Garden Detroit: what do users think?
Ron Reed: First of all, you should check out Belle Isle, the largest city park in the US.The new Oudolf Gardens is a true gift to both Detroit and Michigan as well. Don't miss stopping by. Get out of your car and take a minute to take it all in.
Stu V: The Oudolf gardens change with the seasons. Fall blooms are occurring now. The garden is a must see for all flower garden enthusiasts. And they have a small rain garden that improves every year.Restrooms: Belle isle park restrooms are a short walk from the gardens.Dog-friendliness: The gardens are open to dog walkers.Picnic area: The Belle isle picnic areas are a short walk away.
Susan Rieske: Gorgeous garden designed by the world reknown designer and founder of the Nartualistic garden style. I have never seen so many Monarch butterflies! Beautiful design provides color and textural interest in every season. Definetely worth the trip.
Jason R: Great garden with a variety of plantings in nice and unique patterns. The garden volunteer was also very friendly and knowledgeable.
Marisa Prevatt: A perfect afternoon date! This garden offers beautiful views and lots of busy pollinator watching.
Deborah Evans: Exquisite Piet Oudolf designed garden located in Belle Isle Park, an island park managed by the State of Michigan and located in the Detroit River near Windsor, Ontario. The garden is managed by Oudolf Garden Detroit, a group consisting primarily of highly committed volunteers. A park pass is required to enter Belle Isle Park, but there is no fee to enter the garden. Free, accessible parking is located next to the garden. Visits throughout the year will be inspiring and relaxing.
Jenny & Alex: Beautiful garden! We’ve visited his Chicsgo garden in the past and this Belle Isle one is very special and really transforms the space!
Myron T. Miller: Beautiful. They were out doing maintenance on the garden and sprinkler system but it was still beautiful.
Merry Gentry: This is a stunning example of Piet Oudolf's perennials gardens. There are some wonderful planting ideas that could easily be translated to home gardens as well (drifts of salvia and irises threaded through with daffodils and tulips with a backdrop of native grasses and later-blooming perennial flowers). If you're in Detroit and enjoy gardens, this is a must-visit. Looking forward to visiting again in late summer to see how the plantings transform through the seasons. Also, as other reviewers have noted, there are bathrooms next to the nearby aquarium.
Jeanne Martens: I am looking forward to returning each season or even more often.
Joshua Adams: We visited in the early spring and can’t wait to come back when so many of the plants have bloomed!
Candyce Abbatt: 💐💐💐💐💐World class garden designer Piet Oudolf graced Detroit with this exquisite natural garden. It doesn’t cost a dime to visit. Think Lurie Garden in Chicago and Hi Line in NYC. Visit this gift to appreciate it. After one year it is already stunning. Every plant is carefully placed according to an old school color pencil sketch by one of the greatest naturalist designers of our time. The movement created by the native grasses and plants when the river breezes wander through is poetry. Visit and embrace this Belle Isle gem. It’s never the same twice 🌿🌱🌺 🍃
KP G: A lovely place, even in the winter. Despite being close to downtown, this spot on Belle Isle makes you feel like you’re in another world. The views are stunning. I saw huge ships going by right next to the garden, which was a cool phenomenon.I was there in winter so the garden itself wasn’t that colorful, but it was well worth the trip. I drove around the whole island after visiting the garden (because why not?), and enjoyed my visit immensely.Good parking right next to the garden. Restrooms nearby next to the aquarium and the small indoor botanical garden.
jennifer masek: I met Branson,a kind docent and we talked and walked thru and around this new gem. He was educated and passionate about this beautiful spot. I hope whomever directs, changes and continues to work in this garden accepts his voice to help,he has a lot to say.
Dave Engel: Beautiful garden. Highly recommend!
JD Lesada: Oudolf Garden is a magnificent addition to Detroit’s beautiful Belle Isle. Piet Oudolf’s designs paint the landscape with boldness, artistry, and expertise. I’m certain that the garden will only improve with each passing season and year. Don’t miss it during your next trip to the island!
Jessica Brady: We enjoyed all the spring bulbs. Looking forward to seeing the summer perennials grow next!
Sean Jackson: Beautiful new naturalistic garden on Belle Isle. Planted to be beautiful and different across the seasons.

English Gardens: what do users think?
Tazzman 225: They had everything I needed for my garden.
kelli lack: The plants usually look very good but were not quite as nice this year.
Lynn Kowalske: I like the selection. The guarantee on the plants are good but hopefully you won't need it.
Amanda Parker: Great selection
Mawada Mubarak: I really like this store, and it has a really nice selection of plants. I bought a variety of things that were excellent in quality, however, at the store, I noticed that all the tomato plants I wanted to buy had septoria leaf spot and were insanely root bound. I bought them anyways because they were on sale, and an estimate of me untangling the roots and doing what I could to treat the septoria took about 30 minutes. I also bought Brussels sprouts that look really good but are again root-bound. Definitely check for signs on the containers before buying.
myranda Miller: Honestly, this is my favorite plant place for houseplants. Tellys is great too, but their stock is so unreliable imo. This is the best English gardens location too. I can always leave with a plant I have been wanting, or leave with a plant I have to come back for lol
Eileen Fields: Awesome!! Took lots of pictures and bought a Weed Slayer shovel!
Kel Green: Very friendly staff. Pricey but nice products.
Krista: Liked English Gardens as always
Emily Bailey: Healthy looking plants & lots of pot options! Unfortunately with the current winter season there wasn't a huge plant variety.
Millie Burgin: Went in for a Christmas cactus. Found the cactus & the associate that helped me was very informative about the care of the plant. A very nice person to talk to.
Judy Bergeski: Bought a beautiful Frasier Fur tree...40% off. Fresh and symmetrical. This is our third tree from English Gardens and each one has been a winner!
Wholelistic Health & Wellness Center: Georgia H. Manger was just so wonderful and helpful. I love this English Garden location. Georgia took us on a Christmas adventure and was telling my daughter stories and it was magical.Love the team
Theresa Ruddick: So this business gets two stars, ONE star because the lights look really cool and TWO because you did it before Halloween “BUT REALLY!?” You kill the spirit folks*+From your neighborhood spiderman*+
Noor Saba: Awesome place, great selection but over priced 👎It has all kinds of flowers , shrubs and treesVery good and beautiful locationParking on the back sideBut. Their timing is sucksThey close at 6:00 👎👎👎👎
Emily Smith: Beautiful variety!
John Merlino: They have a great selection
Gillian Amritt: Bad customer service & laziness. I don’t understand how you don’t know if a you have the plant if your inventory say’s you do.
KEVIN LEBLANC: Everything high flowers look all dead and dry for high prices
mike mccoy: Everything was great.
Randal Bentley: Lots of plants and helpful staff.

English Gardens: what do users think?
david stocks: Helpful knowledgeable staff.
Kevin Gibbons: The staff was nice. They had what I needed in stock in spite of their website saying otherwise. So that's a big bonus and I got the assistance I needed. First time customer. Will definitely go back!
Britney Daniels: Went in before Mothers Day not the best experience but I did find this cutie. (Venus Flytrap)I was looking for gardening supplies and waited in Gardening for almost 10 mins while the associate helped one customer, ignored me then chatted with someone for 5 plus minutes while me and my toddler stood there.Nice price for our mini Venus flytrap
Ex: Love this shop and the staff. Always friendly and helpful. They even have a friendly cat who chills out here and enjoys being pet.
stephenia brown: Love the plant choices and quality of plants!
Capri: This place is wonderful. You can find the products and plants anywhere, but you can not find such kind, patient and knowledgeable staff! That's why people love English Gardens.
David Squires: Back in the day and I remember when this was an old Frank Nursery before they closed permanently and went out of business.
Ben Totzke: I get all my plants here, all the staff are friendly and helpful! Great place!
Martin Eichorn: Good selection of poinsettias and they were markef-down!
Vivian Sawicki: Always fun to check out English Gardens. I was able to pick up a few citrus trees at their end of the season manager sale and have enjoyed their gardening programs in the past.
Jamie Abbe: Was at the Eastpointe location over the summer, and lets just say I won't be back to this place. While the store was clean & well organized, that's where the buck stops.I bought some plants here over the summer & I specifically needed, & asked, for plants that do well in the sun. I bought $80-100 worth of plants that supposedly were great in full sun. I watered them when needed & took care of them, but they all wilted & died no matter what I did. Although these were clearance plants, if I was told that they fare well in the sun then that shouldn't matter either. Plus, staff at checkout were rude as well. I get it was close to closing time, but my goodness the attitudes were uncalled for. Been meaning to write this review & kept forgetting. Some shopping experiences really stick with a person, as this one did me. Huge turn off.
Monesha Moore: Great customer service skills
msmoenergydet: Love this place! Prices vary but I love Clearance!
GI Na: English Gardens has quality plants and supplies. Better supplies than a Home supply store. Purchasing dirt, mulch, etc is easy. After purchasing, you just drive around and it is loaded into your vehicle. No loading, pushing or waiting for help to your car.
Theresa Urquhart: Everything I wanted and explained to Ralph was executed so perfectly. Bravo! My wedding was the fairy tale I've always dreamed it would be
Bernice Dicken: My bouquet, centerpieces, and bridesmaids bouquets were just so beautiful. Our venue looked perfect. Thank you for making our wedding day unforgettable
Stanley Mahoney: Everything was perfect from the beautiful tall centerpieces, head table backdrop, ceremony decor the list goes on.. The flowers looked better than I ever expected!
Marian Jones: Found exactly what i needed. I will go back for a couple of more items
Maelca Duncan (MAELCA): I love this place you can find all the trees and flowers you dream off
David Byrne: They have a good selection of plants and flowers. Helpful staff. Girl at check out might have been having a bad day but she wasn't really mean. Can be expensive but you most likely will find what you are looking for.
Eric Taylor: First time garden, staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Emily Tetreau: lots of variety! prices slightly higher than i expected but the plants are also of high quality. beautiful place to walk through and to stock up on seasonal flowers!
Kelsey M: I like the products they offer, but they are incredibly overpriced. If you buy your plants here you will spend a fortune. I only buy their pine bark mulch, which used for be 4 bags for $16, then it went up to $18, and now it’s $22.
Becky Arce: Excellent garden shop, very knowledgeable personnel, beautiful plants, patio furniture and accessories.
Deborah Goode: Beautiful plants and flowers!! They have everything you could possibly want; however, be prepared to pay a FORTUNE!!! Double the price of hardware chains and quadruple the price of Eastern Market.
Myra Tucker: I love this place. Such a wonderful selection of gardening and other stuff!
Kristin Zivojnov: Very helpful employees, however we were looking for a plant that was safe for dogs. The employee printed out a list of plants that were safe!

Koren P: Multiple employees reached out to eachother to help us try to figure out the best route to kill ants in our indoor citrus tree. When we got to the check out the guy who came up to the cash register to help seen our ant spray and asked if we were the ones with the citrus tree issue and said one of the employees thought diatomaceous earth would work better! He explained what it was and the thought process with it! Everyone was quick and helpful!
Michelle Kendrek: Jennifer in the plant area rocks. I have an orchid and had a lot of questions about care. She was super patient with me, made good product recommendations and when I left, I felt confident that I could keep it alive and healthy. Thank you!
Otis C. Evans II: Great finds!
TONY TORREZ: Overpriced!!! Go elsewhere
Tammy Shaffer: I walked in and asked Dan if they had a larger cart because I was bringing my parents tree in to get fixed. He said no and walked away. I managed getting it into store. Drake sent me back to lighting fixes. I waited approx 10 min before Dan the manager poked his head out of the back room. He sent me to becky. I told him drake said becky was busy so i was to come to him. I had him walk up to speak with drake. Dan made me feel like I shouldnt be bothering him. I was very upset. I told him he made me feel unappreciated and like i was a bother to him. I found my way to Becky and Tyler....absolutely phenomenal! It took hours to fix my parents tree. I have spent thousands in your store. Terrible service from Dan.
Tibor Cservenak: Beautiful store 🤩
Nazar K: As always great, but a bit overpriced
Emily Nandwa88: We knew the costs would be higher than most (if not all of the competition), but the exceptional experience and results made the investment well worth it.
Stephanie Scott: Beautiful just wanted to see holiday decorations and they did not disappoint. Great holiday ideas to decorate your home. Everyone was so nice.
David Lemieux: We hired English Gardens for our landscaping project and couldn't be happier. We knew the costs would be higher than most (if not all of the competition), but the exceptional experience and results made the investment well worth it.Erika, our designer and project manager was absolutely incredible. From design to execution to follow up, the project felt premium the entire time and the attention to detail was second to none.Highly recommend!
Denise McQueen: I was looking at lights and Matt came out of nowhere and was really helpful and patient with all my questions.

Eagle Landscaping & Supply Company: what do users think?
Mr. Ralph: I paid for 3 yards of small egg rocks to be delivered based on their calculator and it was not enough which made me have to go back to buy more.
Lee Anderson: Great place for your landscaping needs
Rhonda Bostic: This is my firewood go-to place! The staff is so helpful and friendly.
Kelvin Stallings: Top tier excellent service
Mark Smith: Very nice group of people that work there
ned hafen: Staff is helpful and product selection is good. They are helpful and careful in loading material.
Benjamin: I feel cheated. I ordered 5 yards of pea gravel from this company and they had one of the most expensive prices around for pea gravel but they were willing to deliver same day so I didn't mind. However, what they dropped off wasn't even enough to fill a 4-yard dumpster that I had and I paid for 5 yards of expensive pea gravel. I feel cheated and I don't have enough pea gravel to finish the job when I originally ordered more than necessary.
George Lenko: Excellent service, both front office and delivery. Arrived within 2hrs after my call, and the guy was able to drop the load most conveniently for the fill work I needed to do!
Carlo Krnjaja: Great service and a great staff
Mike Naughton: Good quality landscape material, owner and staff are knowledgeable and helpful and the yard loader didn’t bash the sides of my dump truck loading material like some places will , a go to place for my company for bulk products.
Joyce Hall: Was in the process of ordering dirt & mulch for fall clean up. After reading the reviews of how poor customer service I’ll move on.
CHARLES HARVEY: Quality products, helpful staff and reasonable prices
Taylor Manternach: Customer service was out of this world. Everyone was super patient with me. Service was distributed in a timely manner with great skill. Whole process was smooth and easy to go through!
Marvelous Landscaping: Best Landscape Supply shop in the metro Detroit area
Del B: Over-delivered on service! Friendly folks!
Stephanie Radcliffe: Nice organized fair prices
Edward Barnes: Picked up my red wood!!
Dave Henry: The lady on the desk was very helpful and friendly helping to figure the best price for my dyi project. The two young lads that helped load my rocks were great, too. Nice, friendly encounter. Thanks.
Dana Davidson: Ordered 7 yards of top soil on Thursday. Delivered by 7:30AM on Friday. Super convenient and our delivery driver was really nice and accommodating.
Kevin: Always Always Always the place for gardening needs, they always have what I need the staff are good kind folks who are willing to help all the time.
Mr Matt: I ordered and paid for 2 full cords of firewood over the phone. When the delivery driver showed up with 2 face cords, I was completely confused. I called while the delivery driver was still in the driveway and the person on the phone claimed that they sent “2 full face cords”.They refused to rectify the situation and the person on the phone became very rude. They refused to give me a refund and became extremely unprofessional.I have been a customer here for over 16 years, but I will never deal with them again. Do not make the mistake of dealing with this company because they do nothing to fix their mistakes and they will take advantage of you.

Detroit Garden Works: what do users think?
Angela Troia: Loved this place ! Very good quality yard items for your garden🙂
Jayne Fry: Mecca for lovers of all things garden. Want to be inspired and find perfect pieces for your next landscaping project, outdoor room, seasonal decoration, dinner or garden party? Look no further!
Jen Rutland: Oh my goodness I cannot speak highly enough about this place. I purchased two if the square Janie branch planters back in October. Jackie was so friendly and helpful. LOVE my planters. I just received a handwritten thank you note along with a refund of 200 credited back to my credit card where the shipping company gave Detroit garden works a discount and she passed it along to me. So honest of her to do this. I jus love this company and thrilled with my planters.
Robyn Gehrke: Went there for the first time today and had a wonderful experience. Truly beautiful scenery and great selection of pots and gardening supplies. I came here specifically looking for Bergs pots, and they had so many — in all different sizes and colors! Staff was helpful and friendly, and so were the corgis I saw here!
Guillermo Torres: Absolutely recomendable place, everything they have here are beautiful I have purchase lot’s pots fountains and much more, Deborah silver is the most intelligent, Designer when a comes to lanscaping, all staff are super helpful and friendly, when I go to this place I spend time all around the store, I hardly recommend this place for anyone who loves quality,For they home or business,
Alice Wilson: This store was so lovely! There are so many beautiful pots and statues to choose from. Many of them are from England and that's so lovely to see. Definitely a fun high end gardening supply store!
James Hazel III: garden treasures from England, Italy, Copenhagen, and more for the discerning lovers of garden
Natalie Davidson: This is a wonderful garden store with a large collection. The staff are very friendly. It's very expensive.
G Tag: Interesting stuff. On the expensive side.
Simon Martinez: If one comes here knowing that it is a high-end store, then one won't be surprised by the pricing. I come here once or twice a year to encounter some incredibly special and lovely objects. Things from television garden shows and architectural digest type of sources. They are very gracious and welcoming here, I'm sure they understand that there are some folks coming here purely to window shop, looking for inspiration and to experience in person some really phenomenal and beautiful things. That said, I was able to get some bargain hellebores, the best prices from all my canvassing!
Lori Neilson: But pricey but gorgeous place to wander around for ideas
A B: Crazy expensive!!!It is more of art gallery than a garden store. Beautiful and unique items to look at but nothing to buy unless your rich. (No offense to the wealthy folks!)I took a road trip with my sisters and brought $50 with me to buy a momento. I didn't have enough money to buy anything in this store. After 45 minutes of looking around here I took everyone to the English Gardens in Berkeley where we all spent our $. A happy ending.
Rebecca Perry: Beautiful ethereal planters offered here. Top notch items and plants. My favorite garden store.
Doug Manning: Detroit Garden Works does not stand by its products. I ordered a $260 lighted garden globe in December as a Christmas gift that they shipped to us. After it arrive, I wrapped the box which was opened Christmas morning to find that the base to the globe was broken. The box itself was not damaged on the outside, but there was not much packing material around the stand to protect it. The owner said it wasn’t their responsibility and that since it was beyond 14 days from the order, it couldn’t be returned. Their response, you can purchase a new stand. You are better off giving your business to other stores that are less expensive and stand behind what they sell.
June Bass: Beautiful and exquisite merchandise😁 .... You really have to go see for yourself, it's hard to describe all the beautiful pieces they have.... And the staff was so helpful and patient with me and knowledgeable. I felt like a kid in a candy store😂 😂 Great shopping experience !!!
Holly Walters: Very beautiful and organized the customer service could improve other wise a very nice no pressure shopping experience.
Chris Habets: Beautiful thans,
Deborah Smith-McCabe: Just beautiful! Will go back when we have longer time.
Samantha Monterosso: Truly superior. Thoughtfully curated selection of authentic items both imported and domestic. They carry beautiful things you'll cherish and keep for a lifetime not just a season. A pleasure shopping there, and a treat just to look around. We're lucky to have this store!
Jeannie Hall: Winter has been long in getting here but the beautiful assorted spring flowers has found there way to DETROIT GARDEN WORKS!Sunny & John can help you to find the perfect plants and accessories to beautify your home & gardens. The eye candy abounds inside and out .. Oh what a wonderful place to spend an afternoon, get your endorphins excited in the hope of longer days to come to enjoy in the garden ♡♡♡.. you may even find a wayward stray sheep or two .. lol
Paul Hansknecht: Exquisitely chosen garden features.
