My husband and I selected Rosy & Shaun based on their previous work with multi-cultural weddings and we COULD NOT have been happier. The package we selected included an engagement shoot which was such a great opportunity to meet Rosy & Shaun (a married duo) and get rid of any in-front of the camera awkwardness we were fearing. They are TRUE professionals and have an insane ability to bring comfort to the shoot. During the months leading up to the wedding, both Rosy and Shaun were so helpful in getting the timing down right and helping with little details I definitely forgot. They know exactly what they’re doing and I loved having two main shooters so we knew we were getting the best possible photos.. but you don’t notice that they’re there when it’s important that they blend into the background!!! I even asked if they could try some flash photography during the reception and they were all for it! Rosy and Shaun have a system but are so willing to adjust for special requests or changes in preferences. They also got us a ton of preview pictures like 2 days after the wedding! We changed our entire wedding due to COVID-19 and it continued to be a very fluid event up until it was over and Holly was so helpful throughout the entire process. She was such a joy to work with. We ended up having a small ceremony with no reception; however Holly was open to roaming around Detroit with us and taking amazing pictures that we will cherish forever. Gabrielle Elise: We had planned for a wedding in June 2020 and picked Green Holly as our photographer. She was very pleasant and met up with us for a meeting about the date. Although it was hard to reach her by email after and would only receive an email back weeks to a month after. Unfortunately, in April when things looked like they wouldn’t work out for our June wedding due to COVID we emailed her (in late April) about changing the date for our wedding to late summer or fall. I emailed her about several (like 4 or 5) dates and only received an email back weeks later with a only two dates she could do but she informed us that technically she could only do one date because the other she would have to deny due to having a wedding on the weekend before and the weekend after, so basically she could only do one date. Obviously we have a lot more stuff to plan and schedule besides a photographer. She also informed us we would not receive back our $800 that we deposited (even though it was a pandemic and I was a frontline worker). And then even told us that if we did reschedule there would be a $400 up charge for changing the date. The responses were very unprofessional and a lack of empathy towards our situation. Anyways needless to say we lost out on $800 and did not go with Green Holly and found a photographer in time who was very go with the flow and helped tremendously during the difficult time of wedding planning and a pandemic. Unfortunately I would not recommend her services.

Chelsea Shepanski: If I could give more stars I would! I am so glad we found Holly to photograph our wedding. Due to COVID we had a change in venues and location of our wedding. Holly was able to save the day for us. We hadn't met prior to our wedding but it felt as though we had met before. She is on time, SUPER friendly, easy to work with and was able to get amazing natural shots of EVERYONE. I wish I had another event happening to book Holly again!!!

Kenny Bergin: Not sure how this photographer received more than one star honestly. Communication with her has been awful (when she actually responds) and not accommodating at all, especially since circumstances around Covid ruined our wedding. When every other vendor was understanding and offered at least some money back or a chance to rebook for free, Holly stated that not only would we not receive any of our deposit back, if we wanted to reschedule with her for a different day we would have to pay another $800 for rebooking. Having already lost $800 to her “services”, or lack thereof, it’s very easy to say we will not be working with her or would EVER recommend her to anyone else . Her unprofessionalism is astounding. She is no more a photographer than she is a thief. If you’re looking for an awful experience and an unprofessional photographer, she would receive 4stars, otherwise stay away!

Brittney Briner: Make sure to read your contract fully before signing. Unfortunately, my fiance and I had to postpone our wedding due to COVID and other personal issues. Holly refused to let us transfer our deposit over to a new date because " the wedding wasn't a forced cancellation by Governor Whitmer" . She was trying to charge us another $800 deposit if we wanted to use her for our new date. She didn’t update us on her “new policy” until I let her know we would no longer be using her. She was the only vendor that was not accommodating during this difficulty time. We did not hear from Holly once since we sign our contract with her over 1 year ago, she never reached out to set up a timeline or to prep for our wedding day. We decided to not utilize Holly for our new date and after reaching out to many other photographers we found Holly's professionalism and communication was subpar compared to others.*** In response to the comment below many of Holly's accusations are false:1. Due to our reception being indoors and having a guest list close to 200 people many adjustments would've had to be made that weren't just "minor". Per our venue we wouldn't be able to have a dance floor, everyone would have to wear masks, tables would have to be spaced out 6 ft, and we would only be able to seat 5-6 people per table. So we felt these were pretty big adjustment not just "minor "and felt more comfortable postponing.2. When I originally reached out to you and I made you aware of our possible postponement I received an email stating that you had our new date available "However, the deposit wouldn't be transferrable to 2021 dates. As of right now, I'm not considering July 2020 or after weddings to be 'forced' cancellations." We were never updated about your new policy until after we decided to no longer use your services.3. As far as communication we feel as though it was lacking on your end. When we originally reach out to you about our engagement session an email was sent to you on June 25th, 2019, then another email on August 18th, 2019, after not hearing from you a third attempt was made via the knot on September 2nd. After 3 attempts to contact you we finally received an email from you on September 3rd. Once we finally did hear from you we were told you were not waiving our engagement session fee but the money would need to be placed toward goods (prints, album, etc.) so once again you are falsely making claims in your response below. After September 3rd we did not receive a single email from you to discuss our wedding timeline or prep for our wedding. As your customers it was never once spoken about or brought to our attention a second photographer was going to be used at our wedding. So we are confused to what you are referring to in your comment response below.

We decided to book our engagement photos and leave the deposit for the wedding before we left that day!Our engagement photos turned out absolutely amazing. It was so hard for me to choose which photos I wanted to get printed so now I have them all over my house! I cannot wait to see how she captures our big day in September!

Will Chodos: We were so lucky to find Green Holly Photography for our wedding and engagement photos! I had found Green Holly online and really loved her use of lighting and composition. Since we first met with Holly, we knew it was a perfect fit. Holly is incredibly down to earth and was super helpful when it came down to planning. We first did out engagement photos in Depot Town Ypsilanti. We were a bit unprepared, but that didn't phase her - she came up with great shots, and made a potentially awkward situation into a really great time. Out edited photos came quickly and looked great!! For our wedding, Holly was very informative about what she needed and when the day came, she was calm, professional, and very well-prepared (which was great, because I was a little bit crazy). Once again, she came up with great looking shots, and put everyone at ease. I kept getting compliments from my bridal party (as well as guests later on) regarding our wedding photographer. I don't know if that's normal, but it definitely was great to hear. I would hands down recommend Holly from Green Holly Photography for anyone looking for a great photographer for any occasion!
