Detroit Vineyards: what do users think?
Amy Adamchick: Fantastic, next level wines in a really cool, industrial building. Chris, Candace and Jake do an amazing job and give great insight into their winemaking process. Definitely stop by!
Sarah Choss: Detroit Vineyards is the best! Their wine is great, the staff is great, and the winery itself is very cool.
Jessica Coman: LOVE the wines. Staff was so fun and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to get back.
Timothy F: Was a delight. Great wine.
Cathy Dockery: Really enjoyed our Mother's Day brunch at Detroit Vineyards! The staff was amazing and so thoughtful and attentive. I loved all of the wines we were served and the charcuterie board was so yummy!! Can't wait to come back and try the new wines that will be released soon!! Please give them a visit. It is such a treat.
Carmen Wilson: I had a negative experience and upon reading the reviews I see why. I read that the staff is close knit. It seems that misery loves company and they all have become sour. It’s not a pleasant establishment which is shame. The replies by “the owner” are passive aggressive and sadly a missed opportunity to take a criticism and make improvements that could help the business. The bitterness, unwelcoming behavior, and lack of accountability of the staff is egregious and appalling. Customers just won’t come back. Even the Facebook reviews are bad. Maybe some team training, retreats or therapy would help. Please don’t bother to reply.
Emily Dockery: Love love love Detroit Vineyards! Great Wines, Great Space, Great Staff, Great Music! It is a must if you're hanging around the city.
Elizabeth Dowd: Silly place with rude service. Person at counter extremely rude telling us about the “policy” of no large groups. Policy is stupid, especially in an empty establishment, but what was the worst part was how rude and angry the women was who runs this place. A lesson in hospitality and customer service is needed and even being a little kind and thoughtful could help too.
Dowd House: Our group of 11 people was turned away for no good reason, the winery was nearly empty and they told us our party was too big. We offered to split into smaller groups and they would not accommodate us due to ‘policy’. We are wine lovers and experienced tasters and would have loved to have spent the afternoon there…it was so odd, as if the management wanted this establishment to fail. Do not waste your time at this place, there are so many other unique welcoming places downtown.
Nolan Dowd: Unbelievable. Went here with my family very excited to try a local winery and was met with extremely rude greeting. We were not allowed to enter and were rudely shooed away with no reason. 0/5 stay away.
Jake Parcell: Used to love it. However, we were told we can’t bring our baby in so we can pick up our wine club bottles and so my wife can have a quick flight for the first time in 11 months despite it being completely empty at 2 pm on a Friday. Dude seems rude to people too based on reviews despite always being nice to us. Oh well.Won’t be members anymore.
Joe Hakim: Detroit Vineyards is a truly unique place. Not only are they a winery in Detroit, but the wine is excellent. The space is gorgeous and perfect for wine tasting and learning about the wines, winemaking, and anything else wine related. The staff is knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. They host wine dinners and will often host pop ups, too. Definitely worth visiting.
Emi B: Detroit Vineyards is truly THE wine gem of Detroit. They produce a wide range of dry, balanced, expertly made wines from 100% Michigan fruit hand selected each growing season and everything is made on site. The entire vibe is one of the best I've experienced in any tasting room. Super comfortable with lots of space to spread out yet easy to find a cozy spot to read or enjoy a conversation with a friend or a date, great music, and staff that actually knows about wine, can explain how it's made, how Michigan's growing season and wine grapes work, and generally educate about wine production and grape varieties. They have some cool events too like music bingo, trivia nights, djs, wine dinners, food trucks, and more. The private tasting room is a great place to host a small event too and is super intimate and well priced. The staff is fun and engaging and most importantly knowledgeable about wine.
Michael Johnson: Nice venue with plenty of space that appears to be under utilized. The wife and I stopped in for the 1st time late afternoon on Saturday. The place was practically empty. We really want to patronize Detroit businesses but this place was just a "blah" experience from the time we arrived. Please consider living up the atmosphere. Maybe music, lighting and tables outside, flights that can be shared for fun.....it appears that the place has the potential to be a go too spot. I'm not being critical...just saying.
sierra english: Worst wine tasting I have ever been to. The staff are very rude and not accommodating. Candace especially needs a class on customer service! All of the wine was disgusting! I would give them -5 stars!
Camilla Nelson: Beautiful venue. Terrible experience. I made reservations for the first time and was concerned about my guest number after visiting the DV website. when planning celebratory events, RSVPs can be tough so I called to chat with staff ahead of time to help navigate some solutions. DV does not accept multiple reservations to accommodate a larger group. Perhaps this rule should be adjusted if this is a common request? I can imagine allowing a patron to book up to two parties of 6 or a party of 8-10 ppl max being a bit more accommodating…especially if space allows for it and reservation slots are available. Any other great idea other than handling troubleshooting with poor decorum.DV does require full party attendance before being seated so I do appreciate the staff allowing for late arrivals. DV rule violations seemed to be quite common so much so that the staff were ready and anxious to share their condescend tone, disrespectful gestures, and passive aggressive remarks with guests. Candice was so flustered she was red and blotchy 🦀I believe the staff could’ve advocated a bit better for patrons parking in their lot. I attended on a concert day and a “parking lot business” attempted to charge my guests and I $50 upon entering into the Detroit Vineyard lot although guests and I repeatedly mentioned we were parking to patronize Detroit Vineyards. Locals were literally tailgating immediately outside the vineyard doors and most attempted to use the venue’s restrooms but were turned away. It brought about some interesting exchanges. I witnessed staff become so rude and intolerant, I wondered if they attempted to work out better solutions than signage and inpatient behavior. The irony of that was…the facility’s restrooms were disgusting (as if the tailgaters were allowed to use the restrooms). Smelly and overflowing trash receptacles, dirty surfaces and floors, soap dispensers that don’t work, and absolutely no toilet paper. The temperament of staff shouldn’t be dependent on their work day going as planned. Things happen unexpectedly all the time.
S K: This place is 10/10
Domonic Golden: The experience we had was great. The service was great, Jake was soooo patient and kind. He answered all of our questions. I would definitely come back.
Bridgett Fenner: I drive past this every day on my home from work, and I've wanted to go for forever. Reading other responses to these reviews makes me want to go even more! I'm gonna look into making a reservation this Friday because the owner sounds like my kinda people.
Brian Wolff: Good and knowledgeable service with explanations of the wines, ciders and meads. Winemaker knows what their doing especially the blends were terrific
Paul Streffon: Came early for whiskey tasting next door and stayed for wine tasting here. Super nice staff and nice wine. I will come back next time I'm in town.

Holly McGolly: This place used to be one of my favorites to go on a Sunday and chill and get the flight, but now they have changed their pricing, so the flight is no longer worth it unless you are buying a bottle. I don't know enough about wine to always order what I like, so it's harder for me to commit to ordering a glass, which is why I liked the flight so much.
Jason Piotrowski: Fun atmosphere especially when they have live music. So many wine choices all from pure Michigan!
Mark Thom: Went on a Friday night to listen to music while doing a wine tasting. Good wine. Good music
