dor steeples: This school has an educator named April Latrice Maxwell-Jones who assaulted my niece with a screwdriver and her 5 year old son that needs to to be brought to justice. Apparently she thinks she is above the law.She also has committed fraud/left along with her daughter Lauren Ammini Maxwell-Payne AKA Lauren A Jones and her husband DeAndre Antwan Payne who both are known criminals by lying to local authorities regarding my nieces vehicle. This educator verbalized she knew one the officers who ordered my niece to relinquish keys to her vehicle or face arrest and her kids going into child protective custody.They stole my nieces's vehicle by lying to the local Police Department stating the car belonged to Lauren while one of their family members recorded this ordeal. (see picture of car my niece purchased 2 years ago)This so called educator did this and thinks she is going to get away with it!!

Alonzo Jones: Its honestly not the best, but it definitely gives you a challenge. They have this program called the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program that starts in 11th-12th grade, which will exceed the expectation of how good or bad college will be for you. You don't have to be the smartest nor do you have to be the most outgoing. Its about how you think and how you interact with other people. This program is for people who want to develop skills that pushes you to seek knowledge and further your education. --- "The elephant has always been there, it changes color, shape and size every minute."

But if u want to go to a school with middle students that fight everyday at lunch or sometimes after thr lunch bell rings then go right ahead.Im actually enjoying the school because of all the drama i love drama schools like southwestern. Every thing is going quiet well so far who knows what might happen in the next month or two.

Nicholas Counelis: I go to Southwestern and i have to say, it was a good school, but then Flint schools closed McKinley and Homes now Southwestern, Northern, and Northwestern are the only Middle/High schools in the Flint School district. The staff are rude, and security treat you like a suspect. If you like to be searched everyday, and like having hallways crowded so bad it looks like times square on New Years Eve then this is where you want to go for school. plus the books are over 10 years old and are very out of date.

Melissa Murray: Don't send your kids, student, anyone really to this school. The bullying is just horrible. The administration does nothing about the bully but kicks the victim out of school. If you want your teen to get a education keep looking for another school..

Alexis R: This school offers a horrible experience. The administration is completely scandalous. The only good this school has to offer is its teachers, which are top notch. However, our school insists on sending its students through some horrible weather some winters and straight to the hell hole they call "Carman- Ainsworth High School".This school is also complete trash. It's older than your great grandmother and doesn't even have air conditioning. During the spring the a.c. barely works leaving many rooms hot as hell. The buses are in horrible condition and in desperate need of repair. The desks and chairs are broken and old, that they are more dangerous to the students than ISIS and School shootings.Most the students at the school are pot heads and the school's lack of drug enforcement makes it offering some of the worst things this school has to offer. The students bully each other and can't even ask the school for help because the school won't do anything about it. The conduct at the school is just horrible. when students do wrong, they get a warning. When they do it again, they get a second chance, and when they do it again, they just keep getting more chances.The school never seems to fix it's problems. All these problems listed, won't be fixed, they just want to put all their attention and funding into their sports programs, despise their sport teams being completely horrible.Overall, this school needs more funding, needs a new administration, and needs to fix its issues instead of giving all its focus and time to the sports side.

Fernando Jr Amaya: As with any school, what you put in is what you get out. Kearsley has great teachers, sports programs and a caring staff!!Their announcer is alright too.

Glenda Minzey: They have banned teens for absences from attending school functions even with medical disclosure. One student has a life threatening medical problem. What's up with that? So wrong on many counts! Time to change. Why have a medical form on file if not respected. Very disrespectful of the teens! These kids have good grades too! How do you think the teens feel. They are already fighting an illness they can't control, and then they are punished for it. Also, I understand this was implemented this year, so do it on a go forward not previous year when the policy was not in effect.

Mike Drake: 4 out of 5....office woman leaves alot to be desired. Mrs. Kelly or Kelly in the Office is very disgruntled....she gives myself and my son a hard time at every turn. He had a Dentist appointment and needed to check out a bit early to make the appointment. I told him just notify the office. She insisted my grown son....(18 yrs old.....can sacrifice his life in this nations military.) have me call and tell them. When he tried explaining his age of 18 makes him an adult.....she tried to tell him.."Your father files for you on his taxes"......NOW WAIT JUST A MINUTE.....what do my financials have to do with a grown mans ability to tell someone when he has to leave early or otherwise? I had to call the School Board and speak to the super attendant....who was appalled at the thought of this woman mentioning a parents financials. The superintendent was great...everything done. So today I asked my son to have my name removed from the automated call list. He is 18 and has been since December. He needs these calls and reminders ...on snow days, half days, etc. I dont need to be called at work for simple reminders that are rather frequent...and border on spam. So he goes in the office today to return a book and have the phone thing rearranged. At which point Ms. Kelly or Kelly or Mrs. Kelly starts right off again with refusing to change it. Again my son reminds her of his age and she ...AGAIN brings up my taxes and who pays what to who. SORRY PARENTS TAXES ARE OUT OF BOUNDS AND ARE IRRELEVANT TO A RESPECTABLE GROWN MAN CHANGING HIS EMERGENCY CARD INFO. This woman not only sits in the office behind a desk at my sons school...and talks to parents with complete disrespect and an awful nasty tone....NOW ...how do you think she is speaking to our kids? The folks in the office need to re-evaluate her position desperately...power trips are not student friendly....these young adults have alot on their plates...and having a young lady treating them badly isnt helpful to attitude or environment...they are turning 18 and being expected to pay taxes, get jobs, enroll for the DRAFT , and be responsible adults. The folks at the schools should be teaching respect, responsibility, and encouraging them to be capable young adults.....THAT DOESNT HAPPEN WHEN YOU TREAT THEM LIKE 7th graders!! If you want these young folks to stay in school speak to them with some mutual respect...AND THE PARENTS....and things will be more comfortable for everyone. Dont sit in that office and talk down to folks and be condescending to parents who call. So again...I called the superintendents office. We spoke about the same things as last time....all is good. My question is...if she is this difficult for the parents and kids to deal with ....over something as simple as changing a few phone numbers around.....one has to wonder how many other road blocks her poor attitude has created for these kids. If he stands up to her in the office and insist she does what he knows should be done without issue....then he gets suspended...so she just talks to them however she sees fit....and the parents too. I will be preparing for a future school board meeting at which point Ms Kelly will be the topic of my time allowed. Unacceptable behavior from an a public employee ...who is suppose to be teaching and leading kids in positive, productive manners. My son has excellent attendance..if not perfect...also is A, B Honor Student...and has 2 jobs and pays taxes...he is literally her PEER. She is no more an adult than him. She works no harder than he. She has no moral right...or legal right to be so rude inconsiderate and disrespectful to anyone for any reason. I am hopeful...at least for other parents sake...that the position gets filled with someone who is a social butterfly and that can treat folks in a nice positive manner....that smiles and does what she can to help parents and students alike. Nan Longest: I was here for a year, the teachers are decent and depending on who you have they can be super scrict with phones. The lunches can be awful but everyone love chicken days.The drama department and library are extremely underfunded and they don't have many electives. Most of the work is pretty easy but the Senior Project is murder. Lots of people who love the Hard Rock genre so if you like that then you'll make a ton of friends.

I transferred in 8th grade from Bentley School District where I was severely bullied and I was depressed.This school district has great sports, education, and great people.I was in a confined class in eighth grade due to suicidal thoughts and low test scores my education was 3rd grade. Now I am in high school and have learned everything I needed to. Kearsley is willing to help you and your children. I grew up with no friends and now I have many.

Christopher Cunnington: This is an awesome program GISD has in place. The are so many programs to choose from. While my son has enjoyed his vet class, he has decided it is not what he wants to do for a job. I'm glad he figured that out now instead of the first year of vet school.

KiDsBeeinKiDs: I Love My Welding Program And What It Offers. What Upsets Me Is The New Figure Heads Incharge. They Have Made Drastic Changes Such As Taking Away What Us Past GASC Students Know As The Hot Spot. This Offered Kids As Myself To Get Awesome Food In The Morning If We Were Unable To Eat At Our House. We Have To Be At My School By 630 And Leave With The Bus And Some Kids Such As Myself Run Out Of Time..Some May Say Wake Up Earlier, But Thats Not The Point. The Hot Spot Also Offered Students To Take A 15min Break To Get Food Mid Class. Which Was An Awesome Relaxing Time For Classes That Where Really Involved, Such As The Engineering Program. Now We Are Just Forced To Stay In Our Class And Not Allowed To Get Food And Associate Amoung Fellow Peers. Oh Well. No Matter What We Say It Wont Come Back. Because In Todays World As Long As The Figure Heads Get Their Paycheck Who Cares What The Students Needs/Wants Are To Make It A More Fitting Educational Environment.
