Tony Melton: Wasted months of my life seeing Dr. Franklin. She never once brought the material she promised she would bring to our sessions. She never gave me any exercises or even specific direction on how to work on my issues. She was a complete let down. I couldn't be more disappointed to have wasted so much time and money just to get nothing out of it. Avoid.

We were very well prepared for our procedure, the immediate post-surgical experience, and the post-bariatric life thereafter! I lost the 75 lbs I needed to lose and have kept it off in the 15 years since. My husband had his procedure almost 2 years ago, lost 150 lbs and is he looks and feels amazing! No more aching joints, no snoring or sleep apnea, and he is so happy with how well he can breathe! He went from a 3X to a medium. We've referred friends there who have also been very pleased with their results.

Andy Holmes: I don’t typically do reviews but I felt this one was worth it. I’ve personally had a fantastic experience with Hurley Bariatric. I started the process in November 2021 and had surgery in March of 2022. My doctor (Dr. Wong), the dietitians and nurses have all been friendly and helpful. Each appointment I’ve had they’ve always gone over everything in detail and aren’t pushy with their time. The few times I’ve called (pre and post surgery) I either spoke to someone immediately or would receive a call back within a few hours depending on the time of day I called.My biggest advice? Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I haven’t had anyone belittle me, be rude, or rush through anything with me. The staff has even gone out of their way to look into things for me and followed up as needed. I’ve even scheduled additional appointments with the dietician (post surgery, which disclaimer is included with your) to help with planning for things and review progress, and they were more than happy to accommodate.Totally understand that everyone’s experience is different, but my experience with Dr. Wong and the staff has been great and I’m so glad I went through with it!

Chelsea Walker: So far my experience has been positive. Im working toward my goals however more education like recipes and portion size control of diffrent foods would be more helpful then heres a paper with a sort of base line. Then your on your own. They then then say the internet will help you. The baritatic app is ok they recommend. However it only gives so many recipes and it tries to sell or recommend baratric items it thinks you want to buy. But everyone is very nice and helpful at the office. The good out weighs the negative. Truly its clean and the surgeons job is to cut. Not to be your nurse maid. Thats why he pays Nurse Practitioner's and others to take care of those needs for you. Those who complain dont understand how busy surgeon's are .they cut not care buy a teddy bear if you need cuddles. You are strong and can do it. Well im done. im in hopes of getting surgery soon good luck to everyone.

R E: I just want to say Linda the clinical worker who works here although I have not met her in person yet has been so nice and helpful. She does not rush me off the phone, she answers all of my questions, follows through on sending emails and getting back to you. I can say first hand that first impressions make a big difference and so far my experience has been wonderful.

Sara Miller: One of the worst doctors and experience I have ever been through. Dr. Farhan needs to learn his bed side manners. I had lap band done and was in a very traumatizing marriage and had to turn my life around after my divorce. After talking to Linda the manager multiple times and asking her what I needed for my revision surgery...I came in for an appointment and never felt more embarrassed in my life. I had to get my mental health in order before taking care of the band problem. Dr. Farhan treated me like an absolute child.Shame on you Hurley Bariatric Center for the way you treat people who already are coming in for a problem they are shamed for. I do not need to be scolded there too.

Andrea Kulman: I absolutely love my experience so far! The staff is friendly, empathetic, knowledgeable, and the surgeon has a GREAT bedside manner. The nutritionist knows exactly what she’s talking about. They are here to help us succeed on our weightloss journey, so they give you the truth, which at times is hard for people to accept. If you follow the directions that are literally written out for you, you too, should have a great experience!

sara shaughnessy: I had a consultation appointment and the only people who weren't condescending were the doctor and his nurse. Unfortunately, the whole experience, outside of the talk with the doctor, felt canned, scripted, fake, and dumbed down. The dietitian would be well served by actually talking to people and not at them, very offputting. I scheduled an appointment with another clinic.

Stephanie Markland: Wonderful staff. Through my whole journey, at least one person from the staff took time out to call and check up and keep me updated on my progress and if i was on track. If they felt i might need something done, they would tell me so i could get ahead of the game. Absolutely love the staff and cannot wait to FINALLY have my surgery (if my insurance would cooperate)

Mike: Absolutely the most unorganized, unprofessional, facility ever. I would NEVER recommend someone to go here for Bariatric Surgery. None of the employees work together as no one seems to be on the same page. You will get the runaround and multiple answers from different people. It takes weeks to get a return phone call. The Psychologist is an absolute disappointment to the Hurley name and is extremely judgmental. If she doesn't like you for any reason watch out - she will be on a mission to ruin your surgery chances. My only positive experience was when I initially met with the Dr. He was the only professional in the building. Will be filing with the better business bureau. If I could give negative stars I would. Please don't walk away - RUN!!!

Tiffany Dysinger: Was NOT impressed with my experience with Dr. Kia.... I was experiencing pain from an umbilical hernia and failed gallbladder. With g the consultation he was very sexist and dismissive of my hernia stating things like "I can fix it but it's just gonna rupture again...." and that I needed to do as many sit-ups as I could to get rid of my abdominal separation, which is literally the WORST thing you could do for that. He did my operation on Dec 20th and by the 24th, the hernia repair failed. When I consulted with a second doctor, I was told he only put 3 stitches in to hold it and they were the dissolving kind. My 2nd doctor stated that Dr. Kia did not do the procedure correctly. Even more than that was just Dr. Kia's dismissive attitude. He didn't care at all. I had my surgery on a Friday and he told my I was good to go back to normal on Monday! My 2nd doctor put me on restrictions for 1 month and followed up for 90 days!........ I would not recommend Dr. Kia to anyone!

TAMMY PARDO: Dr. Kia and his staff were great! Very knowledgeable, honest and to the point, some feel slighted by upfront honesty but in his line of work it’s necessary. I was sent to him due to an emergency visit to the ER in regards to a Hernia that I knew I had for 10+ years just couldn’t get anyone else to listen. Due to my obese weight and lack of medical terminology I dealt with it until it landed myself into ER. Dr Kia was very honest with me right from the start. He is an excellent surgeon and even with his knowledge and skills did not feel confident in being able to go in and fix my hernia being obese as I was. Thus began my weight loss journey which 5+ years and a half dozen surgeries later (not all related) I am thankful and would not change a thing! I am 100+ lbs lighter, which in turn has given me a happier, healthier life to live and be an example for my kids that they can also be proud of.

Pam Hamilton: I trusted him totally for months,but by the time him and his associate Dr Mark Mattingly got through with me I was near death. Sure I might have had complications, but every time I had another surgery they made my situation worse. Never will I ever go back to them. I ended up going to Uof M. The surgeons there saved my life! I went through hell because of them! Had to retire early my life was turned upside down! Would never recommend them to any of my family and friends!

Venetta Tucker: Had gall bladder removed today. Met his assistant, not the doctor. Would have liked to see him before surgery due to being nervous. He is not as empathetic and kind of blunt in his speaking, but he's a great surgeon.

Helen Wong: My husband Kenneth Humphries was sent to Dr. Kia by another good doctor witch ended up saving his life. Dr.Kia. went right to work. Ken had stage 4 colon rectal in 2011 and has been cancer free for the last 4 years thanks to Dr. Kia and several other doctors. He told him the frist day that he would save his life and he was true to his word.
