Compassionate Hands Birth Services L.L.C.: what do users think?
Anthony Martin: Your the best midwife ever Jill. You gave us your 100% best and we love you for it!!!! We had a beautiful birth ( our baby turned two today) and were cared for so wonderfully. We were taught so much about safe home birth and it’s definitely the way to go! Also Jill is so respectful in her care. A godly Christian woman and I totally recommend anyone to have her as a midwife! If I would have the chance I would have Jill for my midwife again! I love you Jill! Hanna martin
Amanda S: Jill and her team were fantastic with my homebirth! I can’t say enough good things. Her energy was exactly what I needed when I was in the thick of it. She went above and beyond when I had an issue during pregnancy as well. Highly recommend! 💕
Tanasia Lovett: Jill Roper and her team were phenomenal! As a first time momma who works in the medical field, I thought I would be a tough patient since I want to be informed about everything. Initially I did prenatal care with a local OB/GYN but my husband and I quickly realized that we weren't going to get the support we needed through the 5 mins spent a physician at each appointment going the "traditional route".We wanted a peaceful birth so we turned to seeking someone skilled in home birthing. Once we met Jill we felt an instant connection. She's a great listener and very knowledgeable in her profession. We appreciated that she was big on informed consent. We never had to be subject to anything we didn't want. As she would say "your birth, your way".I not only felt supported, I felt empowered! I was amazed at the education she provided and resources she connected us to. My husband also felt heard and empowered throughout my pregnancy.I had a long labor that kept stopping and starting. At one point we discussed possibly transferring care because I couldn't keep anything down and my water had broken. Jill informed us of our options and let us decide what we wanted to do. The whole time I was at peace because I felt safe with her and her teamFor this reason we decided to try one more time during the next wave of contractions. Our baby arrived safely still in his amniotic sac! How cool right?!?After the birth, the house was so peaceful. We didn't even notice that they tidy'ed up. We were thoroughly impressed with our care from day one and all through postpartum care. We definitely will use her services if we conceive again in the future.
Joey and Dan Lipsy: Compassionate Hands reviewI cannot express enough how amazing our experience has been at Compassionate Hands! From the time I first spoke with Jill, I felt welcome and she assured my husband and I that we were in good hands. Jill presented us with a handbook detailing our birthing journey at our consultation. We have had a few home births thus far and throughout my most recent pregnancy and delivery, we have seen Jill's knowledge, organization and experience each step of the way. Jill brings more of her personal touch to each interaction. She truly cares about both mother and baby in a compassionate way and her medical skills allow her to perform all the routine care necessary. Despite her going through great loss during our time working with her, she has continued to display grit and grace, and she has demonstrated the spirit of a midwife in an unprecedented way.On a personal note, this has been my fifth pregnancy, and one would think I had learned much about my body and pregnancy, but Jill took the time to educate me during our discussions together. I had always suffered with postpartum depression, but with her intentional approach and practical advice, I did not experience this after this pregnancy. Further she helped me to care for my postpartum body proactively. I would highly recommend you give Jill a call now if you are pregnant and live within a 60 mile radius of Flint, Michigan. Her skills are in high demand and she is in a league of her own.
Lindsey Maloney: We had a beautiful pregnancy and birth with Jill and compassionate hands. We always looked forward to our prenatal appointments as they were not only fun, but any questions and concerns we had were always met with respect and validation. We felt supported physically, mentally, and emotionally. My labor was tough, as I am a petite woman with a small pelvis, and my baby was 9 lbs 8 oz. It was so nice to have Jill and her support team guide me through it. I know I would have been C-sectioned at the hospital so I’m so very grateful I decided to do this with Jill and compassionate hands naturally. Although my birth was hard work, I was so proud of myself and wouldn’t have done it any other way! Thank you Compassionate Hands!
Jacob Ignacio: Written by my wife:Honest, patient, respectful, sincere, knowledgeable, empathetic and wise are some adjectives that instantly come to mind when I think of Jill Roper and everyone at Compassionate Hands Birth Services. My experience could not have been better. My husband and I felt such a peace and level of trust after the first phone call to Jill before we even officially hired her. I felt respected and truly listened to through out my whole pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. Jill and her team are outstanding and any family would be extremely blessed to be served by them.
Daniel Christine: Loved our experience with Jill and her staff. The office is more of a comfortable homey atmosphere than a sterile medical feel which I appreciate. The book Jill gives you is so informative and she's just a text away if you have any questions.Being able to birth our miracle baby at home was 100% worth it. I'm not sure we will be able to get pregnant again as this little one was a 10 year waiting miracle but if I do I am definitely calling Jill back!
Ben Foreman: This was my first time using Jill. It was also my first successful home birth. I highly recommend Jill and her team to anyone. She deserves more than a 5 star rating! I appreciated the time she took with with me, she was so encouraging when I felt discouraged. She was always just a phone call away when I needed her. I will never forget the moment after having my baby and they tucked me into bed! So much different than laying on a hospital bed. My home was better after they left than before they got here. By the end of the birth I felt like we were all family. I am truly blessed to have been able to have her welcome my baby into this world! I will definitely be using Jill again!
Diana Badini: I found Jill when pregnant in 2017. Sadly, it ended in a miscarriage but Jill came to support us through that. She gave us support, encouragement and I believe even paid for the ultrasound where we confirmed the baby had passed. While birth never goes according to plan, Jill was knowledgeable and kind throughout each of our following births. We had our first live birth with her and although it ended in a hospital transfer, she made the right decisions to protect me and the baby. We went back to her for our second baby to be delivered at home because we knew she was looking out for for the babies and mama's.She brings an atmosphere of caring, not being invasive, empowering and joy. She truly loves being a midwife and it shows. We couldn't imagine any other person with us as our boys were born!
Hannah Sanders: Jill and her team were awesome! Very respectful, explained everything, gave me options, and answered any questions I or my husband had. We had a great birth experience at home and great care after birth with our postpartum visits.
Julie Williamson: Jill is a wonderful person. She has such a calming, peaceful and respectful presence that immediately puts you at ease when she enters the room.My first birth was in a hospital. The physical and emotional trauma I endured was followed by years of post partum depression. I was given a short questionnaire and pills, then forgotten about.Jill helped us deliver our second, and what a different experience. No trauma, no depression and a postnatal recovery that was weeks faster! She will be there for you, before, during and after your birth. She is more knowledgeable about the birthing process than any OBGYN I have ever talked to. She empowers the women she serves to be what we were made to be. I can't recommend her enough.
Kallie Howell: I was a client. what's my automated response gonna be?
Hannah Harris: The care we received from Compassionate Hands was absolutely phenomenal! From our first steps into the office all the way to our very last postpartum appointment, we felt welcomed and full of peace and comfort. All of the staff radiates such joy, and their respect for their patients is unparalleled! We are so thankful for Jill and all of her help we received through our pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. She truly exceeded all of our expectations (in behavior and performance!), and as someone who had a flawless hospital birth with our first baby and homebirth with Jill for our second, we canNOT recommend her enough!
Audrey Burk: This was my second home birth, and I'm so glad I found Jill this time around! She is very knowledgeable and I loved how she shared information about so many different things during my pregnancy and then allowed me to make my own decisions.Jill is very thorough and pays great attention to detail. She will also sit and talk you through any questions and concerns you might have at any point in the process.I felt confident that Jill would know how to handle any complications that might arise in a competent way. Luckily, everything was smooth sailing and we had a beautiful birth experience.Jill is also very involved during the postpartum period, which I really wish I'd had my first time around! All around, I can't recommend Jill highly enough!
Nicole Robison: Jill is so caring and compassionate. She has treated my family with so much love and respect through our pregnancy, labor and postpartum. Jill delivered my first child and helped me achieve the beautiful water birth that I had always wanted to have. She is full of knowledge and experience and handles any situation calmly and professionally. If anyone is considering home birth but is nervous/skeptical I would 100% recommend Jill. You will be the best hands possible! I made the decision to have her care for me when I was halfway through my pregnancy and it was the best decision I made!
Jana French: Being new to the area, my husband and I were thrilled to find Jill via our chiropractor. We made the decision to transfer care from an OBGYN (to be clear, I do love my OBGYN, but his practice doesn't do home births) to Jill, very late in my pregnancy (we had a hospital delivery for our first, and did not want that experience for our second). My husband and I are both in the medical field and were impressed by Jill's professionalism, care plan and vast experience. It was very important to us that our midwife be certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and have tons of expertise--- Jill has all of that and much, much more! Jill and her team, were always punctual, prepared and thoughtful. I had a fantastic delivery and recovery! Her home visits are so helpful, especially in the early days. We like that Jill is pro home birth, but also understands when it necessary to transfer to a hospital setting. I wish I had delivered my first with Jill; it would've saved me a hellish delivery and drawn out physical recovery. As a nurse and doctor, my husband and I are both extremely comfortable with hospitals; that being said, we both were blown away with the experience and the care we received from Compassionate Hands and were thrilled to be in our own home! Jill and her team were worth the investment. (And, because I know you are curious... after I delivered, they took care of everything, you'd never know there was a baby born in our house that morning!! We didn't have to clean a thing!!)
Ty Brewer: I found jill when I was already in my third trimester. I was so excited to work with her after just the first meeting. I came from an obgyn who did not treat my pregnancy as a blessing and exciting journey. Jill helped us learn, grow, expand and get ready for our little miracle. Jill helped me feel calm and prepared for labor. I was so impressed with her patience, love and care for her clients. She and her students are amazingly helpful! The post partum care is unlike any you could get elsewhere and she really loves what she does! From my husband:I really liked the whole experience with Jill. The prenatal visits were warm and welcoming and I was included and given a role. I felt super prepared for the birth and that allowed us to fully appreciate the joy and excitement of welcoming our baby into the world. It was wonderful to be able to be at ease and comfortable in our own home and Jill and her students took wonderful care of us. This was a great birth experience!!!
Nicole Kelm: Home birth wasn't something I had known existed until shortly before I became pregnant myself. Being in the medical field, any type of nontraditional medical practices can be viewed as unsafe. After the experience my husband and I had with Jill, we can both attest that home birth was not only safe, but safer than birth in a hospital and a much more enjoyable experience.Jill's knowledge on current literature in Obstetrics and Gynecology is second to none. She is more well read than many physicians. She is constantly up to date on new publications and is always looking to implement more effective practices for her patients.Combined with her extensive knowledge, her holistic approach to pre, peri, and postnatal care provides for an excellent patient experience. Additionally, her bedside manner far surpasses any OB/GYN I have ever encountered. All care that I received under Jill was nothing short of the highest quality.I am grateful I had the experience of home birth, specifically with Jill as my midwife. I wouldn't have changed a thing.
Brittany Lawrence: Jill and her team are truly compassionate about the families they are serving. They take their time getting to know you and answer any questions they have. I learned more from them then I did from my hospital births. Even after birth the care is wonderful. During the birth they are there to help, but let you birth your way. ❤
Sara Mannschreck: Compassionate Hands Birth Services provided exceptional care for me and my baby from our first prenatal appointment through postpartum. I highly recommend Jill as a midwife, as she provides a high level of care and compassion for her clients. They walked me through new policies and procedures during this pandemic, and I was able to successfully and safely deliver my third little boy at home under their care and guidance. I could not have chosen a safer or more reassuring birthing option given the current pandemic we face.
Larissa T: Jill is such an amazing Midwife. With my first birth in 2016, I didn't have a great experience. When I found out I was expecting my second in October of 2018, I was going to go with the same OB. I knew in my heart it wasn't the right thing for myself or my baby. When I told my Chiropractor, Doctor Clift, he introduced me to Jill! I fell in love with her that day. Set up an interview the next day with my Husband. We had a lot of questions, and she answered them with so much knowledge and honesty. Something I didn't get with my first pregnancy. Throughout my whole pregnancy she was so supportive as well as her other associates. They were so loving and helpful during it all! When it got closer to my due date, I was so excited and a little nervous to go into labor because with my first experience I didn't get to go into labor on my own. My due date came and it went, Jill reassured me that everything was going to be okay! It was and I went into labor on my own, and I had an amazing experience. Now being eight months postpartum, she is still being there for me and my baby. I would highly recommend her for anyone who is looking for a Midwife around this area. You not only get an amazing midwife but you also gain a family as well. Thank you Jill for being who you are!

Caitlin Esper: I chose the birth house after touring it in April of 2016, at the time I was 4 months along. I always pictured myself having a home birth, but with this being our first, my husband was very uncomfortable. The birth house is a 13 minute drive from Hurley, so if we needed to be transported for any reason it could be done quickly. Our home happens to be in the middle of no where, so the birth house was a perfect compromise. My midwife, Goldie Parker, was absolutely incredible throughout the last 5 months of my pregnancy! She was attentive, answered all of my questions at check ups, and just has this instinct for pregnancy and birth that blows me away. My husband and I took Hypnobirthing classes through the birth house and I took a lactation course with Mandy Dixon (she's great)! My Doula, Sara Shreve (also the Owner) was 110% marvellous during my labor! I would NEVER recommend any woman laboring, no matter where they are, without a Doula! And of course the midwife and her wonderful assistant Stephanie Winford (she was by my side the whole time) were present during my labor and at the birth of our daughter- on Saturday September 17th 2016. I know that home births and birth houses are not for everyone, but I must say that I have no regrets! They had a birth pool, a huge comfortable bed (which mom, dad and baby all fit in for skin to skin), a birthing rocking chair, birth ball, a place where you can walk outside...its just made to make a laboring mom comfortable...i think that is so important to avoid interventions. I'm convinced that because of my birth team and the birth house I didn't rip or tear (at all), my water broke on its own, and we have a healthy Baby! I also had placenta encapsulation done through their facilities & would recommend it! We chose to do cord burning instead of cutting/clamping...The experience isn't offered everywhere so having the opportunity was really unique and beautiful! All and all, we are healing quicker than most people I know who've had a hospital birth. Our new little family was in the comfort of our own home with in 7 hours after the birth of our baby. We are lucky to have a birth house in the area as a resource and for any healthy Mom who'd like to avoid a hospital during such an intimate and transcendental experience!

Meghan Nagel: I would highly recommend Jenny for anyone considering a doula! She is amazing.
Leah Kubacki: To start, let me say that Jenny is absolutely AMAZING. She's a Rockstar and I would give her a million stars if I could. To anyone looking for kind, compassionate, and understanding support in you pregnancy/labor/delivery, trust me, you want Jenny by your side. While I may have been the one to deliver my baby boy, I give a great deal of credit to Jenny for helping us achieve the birth that we wanted. Without her, I am near positive, that my sons delivery would have been a cesarean. She helped me to stay calm and confident I'm my decisions, even the ones that didn't align with my original birth plan, and encouraged me to advocate for myself with the nurses and midwives. She reassured me that changing my decisions was okay if I wanted and that I was fully in control of everything that I needed/wanted while in labor. Her calming presence also gave my husband the security that he needed, in order to rest, along side me when I was able to.She truly goes above an beyond for the families she supports.
Jordan Zabawa: If you are looking for a kind, caring, and wonderful doula- Jenny is your girl! From our very first conversation, she made me feel so comfortable and confident in my choice to have a home birth. Jenny was a critical part of my birth team and I couldn’t have done it without her coaching and support. The entire pregnancy, labor, and even after she has been a great resource and wealth of knowledge. My husband and I can’t wait to hire her again for all our future babies!
stephanie haisha: If you’re wanting a unmedicated birth and are looking for a doula, Jenny is who you need to hire. This was my first pregnancy and I have always said if I ever got pregnant, I would want to have an unmedicated birth experience. A family member recommended Jenny to me after the amazing experience she had with her birth having Jenny as her doula. I reached out to Jenny when I was 27 weeks, we spent an hour and a half on the phone and speaking to her I instantly felt so comfortable and at ease seeing how knowledgeable she was with everything related to birthing. During our conversation on the phone she explained from A-Z what a doula is and does. We set up an in person home visit around 30 weeks and another visit around 37 weeks. During those visits Jenny showed me exercises, breathing techniques, explained the importance of posture, told me all of the important things I should be eating and drinking for a shorter and easier labor. And let me tell you..she was right! Also, during our visits Jenny listened and answered to every question and concern I had. Jenny truly cares about giving you the birth experience you want to achieve. We went over a really specific birth plan for me and my baby girl and she was able to put it all together for me and also was an amazing advocate for us at the hospital. At 40 weeks and 2 days I was able to deliver my baby girl unmedicated with her help. Jenny was with us in the hospital all night throughout my labor and mind you, she had 2 labors right before mine and still managed to be with me all night. She encouraged me to use the hot tub in my hospital suite and the TENS unit she provided to help with my contractions. Jenny was not only super supportive for me but also my husband. She was able to help guide him on what to do during my labor as well. Jenny had basically not slept for over 24 hours and after I had my baby girl she took the time to stay with us and followed up with us after the birth a couple times to check in on us. Jenny is a literal ANGEL. She comes with so much knowledge and experience and she truly cares so much. She went above and beyond for me and made my birth such a beautiful experience. I will be recommending Jenny to literally everyone I know!
Kaitlyn Sundt: Jenny was such a joy to work with. She is knowledgeable and supportive, and was pleasant every step along the way during my pregnancy, birth, and after my son was born. Having Jenny there with my husband and I as we navigated preparation for birth and a labor process that ended up going quite differently than planned (for reasons out of our control) was invaluable and I can’t imagine not having her be a part of it all. I highly recommend Jenny - she is a great doula and person.
LeeAnne Kroll: Jenny was an amazing doula and we will hire her again for our next birth. We came into hiring her a little behind the eight ball but she still spent the time we needed to get prepared. She was very respectful of our wishes and the support and advocate we needed in the delivery room. My husband was very grateful to have her as a support person throughout the labor and delivery process. She also took the time to stay with us after baby was delivered and followed up with us after the birth a couple times to check in on us. She comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience for whatever your needs are. She truly cares, has a warm personality and is very professional. You won’t regret bringing her on to your birth team.
Haley Hendricks: I would 10/10 recommend Jenny and would use her again for future births. I've delayed writing this because there aren't perfect words to describe how amazingly supportive and informative she was leading up to and during the birth. I was telling friends just yesterday how she was such a great advocate during the action time and helped me achieve the natural birth I was hoping for. I didn’t have time to read a lot of books to prepare for labor (and frankly I don’t like reading/studying), but having Jenny there made me feel confident, empowered and cared for. Thanks again Jenny!! You rock, couldn't have done it without you! 😘 🤗
Christina Giglio: Having Jenny as my doula will forever remain close to my heart when it comes to great moments in my life. I had became pregnant with my second child when my daughter was only 2 months old. I was so preoccupied with her that I spent little time preparing for the second baby’s arrival until the end of my second trimester. Soon as I realized I wanted a different birth experience with my second I started to look for a doula. I had found Jenny’s website off a birthing center’s recommendation list and left it open on my safari tabs for a few days and then my Bradley method instructor also recommended her to me! Once this happened I quickly called! From the first conversation she made me feel very calm and comfortable. She was full of knowledge and compassion. Her voice is soothing and you genuinely feel very cared about, as if you are with someone you’ve known your entire life. She made my birth everything I had not felt during my first and I will never birth without her ever again! Not only was she amazing before or during my birth, but as I recover at home this is something I didn’t even think about until I was writing this but my PP recovery seems easier than before because my mind body and soul were taken care during the entire experience.
Joanna Langbeen: I hired Jenny for my first homebirth experience. I already had done 5 hospital births and wanted to try a homebirth, but I knew I didn’t want to do it without as much support as possible. I am SO GLAD I hired Jenny. I honestly do not believe I could have done it without her. She made sure my birth was a peaceful experience and was there helping me through every contraction. She knew just the right pressure to use on my back to ease labor. She came to my home ahead of time and set up a calming atmosphere with lights and affirmation cards. I really, really loved my homebirth . Thank you Jenny!
brandon price: It's difficult to express how grateful I am to have had Jenny as my doula. My experience with her was beyond everything I had hoped for. I decided to choose her as my doula late in pregnancy, (around 38 weeks). From the minute I started speaking to her, I knew she was a perfect match for me and I instantly felt very comfortable with her (which is something that doesn't happen often for me when meeting new people.). She was an outstanding listener, very empathic, enthusiastic, motivating, and empowering.Jenny is extremely knowledgeable in regards to everything related to birthing. I gained an exceptional amount of knowledge from her during our prenatal sessions. She was extremely patient with me, was happy to answer any questions I had, and thoroughly explained everything!I had a 46 hour labor that unfortunately threw a lot of unexpected curve balls at me. However, having Jenny at my side kept me more at ease, more prepared/informed and less stressed during my labor. Jenny went above and beyond and spent much of the time I was in labor with me! I am forever grateful that she she was my doula!
Amanda Stonehouse: I’ll start my review by saying that I am now a mother of five. During this most recent pregnancy I decided to hire a doula for the first time (mostly because I wasn’t really aware of their existence until now) Because it was during a time of tight restrictions due to Covid, I was already 36 weeks along before I called Jenny. Even though it was super last minute, she still graciously took me on! She immediately set up a day to meet, drove to my house for our first prenatal just days after our first phone call. During the visit she went into great detail about how she could help me achieve a beautiful birth. She took the time to learn about me, my family, and all of my birthing preferences. She showed me and taught me so many knew things about birth that I was not aware of! She provided evidence based research for me to review, and built a birth plan that put all of my anxieties to rest. Her demeanor is always kind and gentle. You feel that you are hiring a true friend! As I got closer to my due date, Jenny came to my house to teach me the Miles Circuit and other very helpful stretches to prepare me and baby for labor. There was a false labor alarm that she drove all the way to the hospital for, and waited until I was discharged. She always answered all of my questions right away and made me feel at ease and ready to birth my baby. When true labor came, she beat me to the hospital hahaI highly recommend hiring Jenny to be your doula. Not only is she very knowledgeable, she is gently, sweet, and caring. I have already suggested her to a few family and friends :)
Samantha Rencsak: Jenny with Beautiful births by Jenny exceeded any of my expectations. I had a very traumatic first birth and didn’t want to experience that again so we hired Jenny. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. She was always a phone call away to answer any of my many questions. When it came time to deliver, it was easy and enjoyable. 3 pushes and he was in my arms I had a completely unmediated birth, which was my goal from the beginning. When I doubted my ability to do it she talked me through it and reminded me I can do it and it was what I wanted, yet wasn’t pushy. I was in control of my labor and delivery every part of it. If your looking to have an amazing birth Jenny is your gal! I’m so thankful we went with her! You will not be disappointed
Julie Phill: As a mom and a grandma watching Jenny with my daughter guiding and loving her through the process and keeping her calm was such a gift. Knowing that Jenny knew their birth plan and was there to follow through and just be the angel in the room was a Blessing.
Kayla Wilson: This was my second pregnancy, I had a doula with my first, but because of covid she was not practicing, so I was nervous to start the process again with a new person, but Jenny made the transition and process easy and completely flawless. I felt so comfortable with her, and she made sure I knew she was there for anything I needed, even if it was just to vent on how miserable I was feeling. Then when it came to the actual day of my Little ones arrival, she was there by my side making sure EVERYTHING I wanted out of my birth experience was achieved, she even took pictures for me and my husband as no one was allowed in the hospital because of covid. Though we had no family there with us I felt like we did! She was Kind, Passionate, Caring and you could tell she loves what she does! Jenny will be my Doula for all my pregnancies here on out!

Hurley Midwifery - Flint: what do users think?
Gabrielle Hoag: As someone who has experienced the care of Hurley Midwifery firsthand, I can confidently say that they are an exceptional practice. The midwives are knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly invested in the well-being of their patients. They even sent me a personal card after baby was born - who does that? Such a sweet touch. One thing that set Hurley Midwifery apart is their commitment to natural childbirth. They have a deep respect for the birthing process and believe that it is a natural and beautiful experience that should be approached with care and sensitivity.Overall, I would highly recommend Hurley Midwifery to anyone seeking a caring, compassionate, and skilled provider for their prenatal and birthing care. They are truly dedicated to helping women and their families achieve a safe and satisfying birth experience, and I feel fortunate to have had them by my side during my own pregnancy and childbirth. I love them!!!
Brooke Bromfield: I can’t recommend more. I love all the midwife’s very much, but one sticks out very much for me. Lyric delivered both of my babies that were only 13 months apart. She is by far the best person I have ever met in my life. She listens so well. It makes me emotional to think I won’t see her anymore. She listened to every word and guided me. She’s more than a midwife to me. I love her very very much and I’ll be amazed if someone else doesn’t. I can’t recommend more and thank them more.
angela hatchew: I had a wonderful experience with Hurley Midwifery for my last pregnancy. They are all such sweet and caring people. I felt very comfortable talking to them; rather than a doctor/ patient relationship it was more of a friend relationship. I am very happy with my decision when I chose them. The facility is very clean and nice. They have a lab in house as well so you can do all of those tests there too.
Julia Schlusler: Hurley Midwives were FANTASTIC!! They provided attentive, personalized, and professional services throughout our 4th pregnancy. They intently listened to me and heard my concerns and wishes throughout my pregnancy. At each appointment, every midwife was personable and genuinely interested in me and my well being. They delivered our sweet baby girl and gave me guidance, but freedom to have the birth we wished for. We could not have been happier with the entire experience!! A special shoutout to Lyric who was there for our delivery, and Dani who joined our delivery! Thanks for making sure our precious baby girl was born safely and sound!
Yana Levovna: I came to the midwives with my first pregnancy at 26 weeks due to the mismanaged and dismissive care that I received at Genysis Women's Center. The difference was clear starting with my first pre-visit phone appointment where the "crusty old midwife" (her words! haha) asked me more questions in 30 minutes than I received in 26 weeks. I was throwing up 4 times a day every thing that I ate, and had raging antepartum depression which Genesis didn’t seem to care about.I had a complicated pregnancy and I was not, ahem, the most jovial of patients but they treated me well and addressed all of my issues with evidence-based care and compassion. Hyperemesis gravidum, antepartum depression, gestational diabetes, gestational hypertension, severe carpal tunnel, and pre-eclampsia- I was just collecting diagnosis at the end.Since I was high-risk, they shared me with the doctor's team at Hurley when it was time for me to deliver via c-section. However, I was still in their rotation so I didn't feel abandoned. They were really great with my husband, too, which is important because partners can get lost in the shuffle.I'm a medical profession (a naturopathic doctor) with my own clinic and I know the level of care that I give my patients-the kind I *should* have been receiving all along during my pregnancy. I'm very grateful that I found the Hurley midwives partway through my exceptionally difficult pregnancy. They exemplify outstanding prenatal care for both the mom and the baby and I would recommend them highly.
K: The Midwives are nothing short of outstanding here. They’re all so very caring & knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable with them & I felt they actually listened to me. Which, as a first time mom, was important to me.
Rachel Brumley: I delivered my second baby this weekend. The midwives knew I was a bit traumatized by my first labor experience and they did everything they could to make sure I was taken care of this time. Before I even got to the hospital I was getting calls and texts checking in on me and giving me advice. It honestly felt like family- I felt so loved and cared for. Labor was divided between Nicole, Lyric and Jennifer and I can't thank them enough. Dejai even checked in on me before I went into labor.I didn't end up having the birth that I wanted but that wasn't because we didn't try, I was in control of every decision. I was educated, empowered and supported the entire labor experience. I did end up having to have a c-section under general and I was very scared and sobbing, but Jennifer was with me and never left my side. The last thing I remember was her holding my hand and then waking me up to hold my baby. When you're adding a member to your family is a sacred and beautiful thing. During a time when family isn't allowed in the room it was great to have women who felt like family to walk through this with. I am and will forever be thankful that they were there for me during this time.
Edna Hirzel: I have had family and friends go to the midwives at Hurley for ob and gyn care. These women are very skilled and caring people. As a nurse i have so much peace of mind recommending them and know they will give excellent care.
Jana Ward: I LOVED my experience with the midwifery department! From the office staff to the midwives, I felt valued and well cared for. The office staff made scheduling a breeze and were prompt with returning my messages (which goes a long ways with a nervous new mother). The midwives were so kind, validated my concerns, and were encouraging throughout my pregnancy, during the birth, and throughout post partuum care. They called to follow up and answer any questions I had. I cannot imagine doing it without this team! I cannot recommend this amazing team enough!
Theresa Weisbrod: I have not had the privilege of having care with these women but observing them, as an aspiring midwife student, has added to my love of midwifery by watching them give personal and dedicated care to each patient they see.
Trisha S: I had the honor of delivering my two babies with the Hurley Midwives. I have continued to see them for my annual check and enjoy reconnecting. Their Rashelle Drive office is recently built and is just outside of Grand Blanc. All three of my pregnancies had a multitude of complications. My second pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage. I can’t explain how compassionate the team was towards my husband and I. In such a dark time, they were so important to us.I received exceptional care during and after all of my pregnancies. I struggled with post-partum depression and anxiety. They helped me identify, treat, and connect with additional support during my struggles. They always took the time to explain and answer my many questions. I felt their sincere and genuine care. It’s obvious that they chose this profession because they love it. If I were to have another baby, I would return to the Hurley Midwives without hesitation. I HIGHLY recommend these phenomenal ladies and am forever grateful for their kindness and care! ❤️
kaylee statler: These women truly care about you and the baby they will listen to anything big or small that may concern you! I will forever recommend these wonderful ladies. And in all honestly i had 'at home' problems they they talked me thorugh. They even work extra hours hust to make sure you are satisfied. My shout out is to the whole team but really want to give Lyric and Dajai credit for outstanding bonding with me. I love hurley midwifery!
Ella Walsh: Thankful for the care and respect I got
alisha wartluft: I am so happy I found this group. They made me feelComfortable and took the time to really listen to my concerns. Wish I had found them with my first baby.
Susan Cook: The midwives are so thoughtful and attentive to my needs. They answered questions I didn’t even know I had. I hope they see this and know how thankful I am for the individualized care. I can’t say enough good things in this review. Highly recommend!!!
Rainel Flansburg: I would not recommend this place. This was my first pregnancy and I had the worst experience, constant comments about my weight gain when I only gained 25 lbs my entire pregnancy, they never answer the phone, never back from lunch when they schedule you an appointment after their lunch. The midwife that delivered my daughter was terrible. My water broke early in the morning and she kept making me wait to come into the hospital, my water had been broke for so long I ended up getting an infection and my daughter should’ve been born via c-section and was born with a brain bleed and respiratory issues, and spent 12 days in the NICU due to this. During my labor the midwife didn’t know what she was doing and the actual OBGYN had to come in to finish my delivery. Then to top it off when I was recovering the midwife got me and another patient mixed up and told me my daughter had her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck when it was another baby. Patient care has gone right out the window. I’ll never come back, next time I’ll go to an actual OBGYN that knows what they’re doing.

Women’s Center of Flint and Saginaw: what do users think?
Jen Bourbina: Laurie, Peggy and all the other girls at the center are amazing. from my intial phone call to my actual appointment, they were so nice and welcoming. they walk you through the entire process and check on you to make sure you're doing okay and they never let you feel like you're alone in this. I really appreciate them and truly believe they are all well deserving of bonuses and lots of recognition. thank you for being so amazing, girls ❤️
Shalice Mcgee: Everyone was so nice and so helpful, they make you feel welcome and comfortable. Highly recommend for any women in need of their services.
Destini Miller: I’m so glad I choose you guys to help me with my abortion. The process was fast and easy . The staff ALL was very understanding. It was affordable they helped me get a discount. The counselor made me feel very comfortable with the process . They we’re wonderful with Everything.
Jasmine Saunders: I was very scared and they were helpful! They didn’t judge anything and were all so nice and sweet.
Logan Gladstone: Everyone was so amazing. It made such a comforting environment.
eliz m: My experience at the the Saginaw location was excellent. The staff was warm, helpful, and very professional. Very thankful that our community has them and their services.
Tatyana Peacock: Very unprofessional, Judgement and rude . I went for a ultrasound, its 50 dollars . They were not going to do a pregnancy test. Which i thought was very weird . Both women at the front desk made me very uncomfortable
B: I am so happy I chose to go to the women’s center of flint and Saginaw, every single person from the first call I made there until the very end was amazing. When you are in the office you see multiple different people and all were extremely nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Words cannot express how much I appreciate them for all they did!! The wait time is long but it is worth the wait thanks to all of the staff and even the doctor being so great!! Thank you :)
Curls N Melanin: The Women's Center of Flint & Saginaw is well deserving of a 5 star rating. I am very pleased with my experience at the Flint location. The Staff was very professional, caring & compassionate. I never felt uncomfortable or judged. The doctor had excellent bedside manner. He was very professional & compassionate. He made sure that I was comfortable and informed me of the process step by step. He truly does not get the credit he deserves. There is one staff member in particular that I'd like to give special recognition, her name is Peggy. Such a phenomenal human being she is. So kind & reassuring. Peggy is a realist but never harsh. Professional yet personable. I could never thank her enough.Thank You To The ENTIRE Staff Of "The Women's Center of Flint & Saginaw", For Making My Experience As Pleasant As Possible, You All Are Very Much Appreciated.
Caroline Davis: The only good this about this place is the guys standing outside to show you there are so many better options that don’t involve killing your baby. I’m talking free clothes, diapers, food, baby sitting, adoption, housing,... you name it! It’s so great to know there is no need to kill my baby when I have so many better options and help.
Sandra Rogers: If I could rate this place a zero I would, horrible staff so rude to me, they book everyone in for the same time so you’re in for hours literally, if you book an appointment here make sure you clear your schedule for ALL DAY literally I had an appointment at 8am and was here until 4:00pm. Absolutely ridiculous place needs to be shut down!!!
Claudia Bright: If I had the option to rate it 0 stars I would. They have one doctor two locations and I sat there for 5 hours, they need to plan different to make it a more comforting process and they are all so rude
Myalin: Went there for an ultrasound (50$) and everything was just odd about it. They wouldn’t let anyone in the back, they immediately made me put all my stuff away, didn’t let me see the monitor at all, and you have to sign a release form to have your ultrasound pictures(which are a super blurry photocopy and not the actual sheets).
JulieAnne Phillips: People there are nice however it is not a professional environment. Everyone who arrived to the clinic had a 9am appointment. At least 10 people for a 9 o'clock appointment is not a good way to get things done in a timely manner. I was warned that this may be a 3 hour appointment, however it was closer to 5 1/2 hours. I almost left! This was a horrible experience. The doctor was not even in the clinic till 2.

Mariah H: This place was so welcoming from the second I walked through the door and was kindly greeted by Eva.Dr. Frownfelter was awesome! Most of the time I feel like I’m being rushed through by a doctor so they can get to their next patient and I often leave an office thinking “I didn’t get to mention this” or “I didn’t have time to tell them about this”, but not with her…She was so personable and made sure to take the time to listen and to understand all of my concerns. If I could have her as my primary physician I would in a second. I highly recommend it here! They’re very helpful and I almost can guarantee you’ll leave feeling satisfied! :)

Birthing Center - Ascension Genesys Hospital Birthing Center: what do users think?
Shannon Tindall: We had our not so little (he was over 9lbs) boy here on 5/15/22. I was in complete control of my induction and our nurse Bambi was amazing. The whole staff here made us feel great and informed. It was the best delivery experience I have had
Hannah Govan: I’ll start by saying the birthing center and labor and delivery team was great, this post is a warning for those seeking high risk pregnancy care through this hospital. Due to a previous 21 week loss I needed twice weekly fetal NSTs. As I was on modified bed rest and high risk for going into preterm labor, my doctor recommended having the NSTs done at the Genesys MFM office since it was closer to my home. I was not informed that this office charged “facility fees” on top of their office fees, so I have now had my baby and am surprised with bills that are 6 times higher than the NSTs I had done at another MFM office (also located within an ascension hospital). Instead of paying my $25 copay per NST I was charged the $25 plus an additional $149 PER TEST as a “facility fee” for Ascension Genesys. I am told that since the MFM office is located within the hospital these additional charges are correct. Had I been informed of this, I would have drove farther or chose not to have the tests done, because now I owe almost $800 for 4 NSTs that would have cost $100 total at any other location and this location was NOT upfront about the charges.
Josh Carmell: Went in with my wife for an ultrasound as recommended by the OB. We get there and find out we aren’t on the schedule due to somebody writing our appointment down on a sticky note and not putting it in the system. The one who should have been doing the ultrasound was rude and asking why my wife even needed it.
Tamara Hudson: All of the staff was absolutely wonderful to my husband, me and our baby boy!
Jacob Groover: Our beautiful baby girl was born here on 6/2/2021. Let me say every single staff member was absolutely amazing. We had a couple of complications, first baby’s heart rate was too high - they were very prompt with solutions to correct this without performing a C-Section. During labor everybody was extremely supportive and knew exactly what to do. My girlfriend lost a large amount of blood (1500mL) and the staff kept calm and quickly stopped the bleeding. They made sure every single thing we needed was taken care of during labor, and postpartum care was just as excellent. They made sure we were comfortable, they answered every single question/concern we had, they kept water, frozen pads, etc. stocked and they were prompt to answer any request we had. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and there were good options to choose from in the food court. THANK YOU ASCENSION GENESYS STAFF FOR THE AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!

Planned Parenthood - Flint Health Center: what do users think?
Jonathon Houston: Very echoey waiting area but besides that pretty cool place
rae: Noble and the other employee I had were so sweet!! truly believe that is the best interaction I’ll ever have with healthcare professionals. spoke to me like a friend and had amazing attitude and energy.
Anabella Topher: Front staff is so ignorant
Bryanna: Dr. Star was amazing thank you so much for making me feel safe and comfortable. Nurses were amazing as well! Such a positive environment thank you for everything. ❤️
Ari Napolitano: Very clean place, and the staff was so friendly and helpful, they did an amazing job making us feel more comfortable and explaining everything. So grateful 3
Friend of Jesus: Unborn babies are slaughtered here.
The More You Know: Told me it would be 45 dollars for a Mirena replacement. On the day of the appointment went to talk to them to verify the amount with my insurance and the price went up to $1000. Yeah I'm good on that scam.
Skyelynn Turner: I had a really fantastic experience at this location. Booking an appointment online was quick and easy, the staff was prompt and informative, and they even helped make sure my bill stayed low since I don't have insurance.Don't forget to wave a hearty middle finger at the protestors on your way out!
Lauren Zambiasi: no time management at all been waiting in a room for 5.5 hours
Annette Powell: IUD appointment, Amazing staff! Finished within 1 hour.
Char W: I have donated many of times while getting any type of services while being on insurance. I have insurance and came to PP while being laid off of work but wasn’t able to be seen because of co-pay that could’ve been billed to me. Will never come back.
Emma Dulin: The staff was amazing. They explain everything very thoroughly, they were so good about listening to my opinions and feelings. They comforted me and made me feel safe during my visit. I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else in the area
Katey Lesch: The girls here are sooo helpful and nice!! Could not have had a better experience here :) I was having a small birth control procedure done and everyone I talked to was so sweet and helpful & one of them even let me hold their hand while everything was going on. Helped me out immensely. Absolutely recommend this place!
Sara King (934uttu203948ut): Amazing, friendly, and accommodating staff. Very efficient; you can go in and out quickly with no hassle. Best place to go for reproductive health in Flint.
Rob Armstrong jr: Your workers have no concept of time, we have been waiting outside for over an hour and still haven't been seen, this is ridiculous, they tell u to show up at a certain time for an appointment then keep u waiting all day, u need to find better workers with better time management skills.
Stacie DeGain: I’ve been sitting outside and hour past my appointment time and several people have gone in before me and have gotten called in.
Sylvia Bender: The ladies are really sweet and the clinic was really clean.
Kelly DeLaCruz: They are always friendly and courteous
Taylor Rose Liles: I love coming here! The staff is always so nice and I've never waited more than 45 minutes even when it's busy. Today I got in and out in 15 minutes. I used to go to Burton because it's closer but I don't mind going out of my way to come here, I prefer it a lot more!
Andrew McDonnell: What really unprofessional and annoying people. Don't expect your appointment to be punctual. Do expect a very unhelpful and frankly unfriendly receptionist
plaid11: This may be a good place for people who have no other option or no insurance and no income but if you have insurance and any kind of income, there's a $200 deductible. The appointment and meds don't even cost that much. Oh and the appointment has taken 2 hours and still no doc. It doesn't take that long to say here is a prescription for your birth control pills that you have been taking. Two freakin hours. I didn't realize it was going to take half the day just for nothing to get done. I understand if this was the ER but it's not.
