These teachers focus on their students as an individual which ensures long lasting knowledge for every student. They are willing to go the extra mile both with the normal course of study but also with life skills that are important outside the classroom. Helping students understand the value of their education can be life changing. I am proud we have such a wonderful school right here in Flint.We are so lucky to have stumbled across Mrs. Nowakowski. We will forever appreciate her compassion and education. When our young child was falling behind, Mrs. Nowakowski was able to give us suggestions on HOW to help our child learn on a level that she understood. I can never repay her for the knowledge she has shared to help our child succeed. Any student would be lucky to have her as their teacher. Mrs. Nowakowski will always go above and beyond because she truly wants every student to get the best education possible.

Michelle Essix: The New Standard is a school that cares about not only academic growth of students, but their social and emotional growth as well. I have worked at several other schools and can honestly say it would be hard to find a school with teachers who care more about the overall well-being of their students than those at The New Standard.

Dessy Dess: i miss it. this school made my 8th grade year awesome. i experienced new places such as: michigan adventures; red oak water park; cedar point; cj barrymore’s. the teachers, mrs.jefferson, mrs.letter, mr.kraft, mrs.boles & mrs.atkins are all caring. they put their effort into teaching the students & plan constructive fun games & events such as the holocaust museum. going to this school taught me how to persevere, have empathy, show integrity, & have self-control (ect.) . & to mrs.washington , thanks for having such an amazing team of hard working teachers, secretaries, deans & discipliners 10 toes behind this school. forever in 1st❤️~destiny hall

Makya Bates: I hate that they won't solve these problems that are going on with the girls my daughter she goes to that school and this girl is flipping her chair over while she is in it and doesn't even say sorry she laughs and now she is talkin about jumping my daughter they don't even communicate because the principal didn't even know about that girl flipping my daughter out of her chair now my daughter had to go to a different class and she has people handing her tabacoo on the bus
