Flint Cultural Center: what do users think?
Alexander Wong: Great place for culture!
Sharon Voelker: FIM is most definitely my happy place
dees 1 collett: Awesome kid friendly place with lots of activities for the entire family.
Dale: There is so much one can do in this Center. For residents of Genesee County, it can be low cost.
Todd Beard: An amazing community gem that has it all arts, science, community, and culture
dave pratt: Great lazer light show .
Laterese Hill: This is a great school.
Andrew Biddinger: Beautiful area. Lots of things to do with kids. Park. Library. Museum. ++
Andrew Schmidt: Awesome place to visit the museums and theaters in downtown are fantastic.
Sharon Timmerman: I was on a field trip with a group of second graders. We had lots of fun.
Amber Parker: Nice staff, beautiful artwork
Khadija Amatullah (Lady Khadija): I suppose it's one of the best places to learn about the history and culture of the city of Flint. It's a bit of a hidden jewel.
Lisa Jolly: So much to see and do and learn, Great for kids and adults. You have Sloan museum, Whiting auditorium, Planetarium. And of course Applewood. All in one area. Also you have the Flint library and the Flint institute of arts. So much to do... love it.
Christine Campbell: A true gem in the city of Flint!!
_ Angie: The Cultural Center is a great little gem hidden in the middle of Flint. They have the Whiting Auditorium, which has surprisingly great little shows. There is a Planetarium, which is fun and educational. Sloan Museum is there, which has a great collection and history of Flint. Right now, Sloan also has a dinosaur exhibit (being hosted by the Courtland Mall). My favorite part of the Cultural Center is the Flint Institute of Arts and the Flint Institute of Music. The FIA has a stunning collection to view, as well as hosting many interesting exhibits. They offer a large variety of classes taught by skilled professionals. The FIM has an Amazing orchestra! They also have an orchestra, for high school level, that is beyond what one might expect from this age group. The group travels and host other orchestras from around the world. Classes and a children's orchestra are also available here, and well worth any parent's time or money.
Shalandra Green: ... great programs for children and the whole family to enjoy....
Christopher Gibson: Great place to learn, hangout and meet people.
Gordon Yurk: There are many important place of interests to visit on this campus
Michael Donegan: This is the best part of Flint in my opinion. There is so much to see, so many events held throughout the year and so much history to this place. One could easily spend a weekend here, especially when the FIA is holding an event or there is a concert at the Whiting. Parking is almost never a problem and all of the buildings are a short walking distance from one to another.
Cecil Neighbarger: A very nice collection of Flint area history and traveling exhibits and Theatre shows.
Natalie Marzonie Parra: I had a wonderful experience bringing international students to the Flint cultural center campus. There is so much going on here -- so much to see, so many activities, and fantastic educational programs. My students were interested in all of the seven buildings on the main campus. We learned so many interesting anecdotes: the art museum is the second best art museum in the state of Michigan, and Longway Planetarium has state of the art technologies that make it the leading planetarium in the nation! I thought that my students would be particularly interested in the Buick Gallery, but they really loved the Art Institute and all the Whiting Auditorium have to offer. I had no idea that the Art Institute had free admission on Saturdays, nor how cheap student admission and tickets to all of the exhibits are! The students all plan to return during their stay here. 😁👍

Kelly S: It's been a few minutes since our last visit to FIA. Wonderful art collection & the special displays were amazing! The glass exhibit was super cool & luckily the delicate glass is behind glass! The Renaissance & Baroque room was off the charts. The Security Guard, super nice, explained that the collection of tapestry was the largest known collection consisting of 10 tapestries. Stunning. Loved that most of the art had audio stories that you can access on your phone AND also access via FIA's web site! The little cafe was very busy during lunch, so the food must be good.I absolutely enjoyed the visit!

Niki Strickland: Love love love. FIA was a lifesaver during the pandemic. It was one of the few places open and appropriate for children that wasn't busy during the weekdays. We often took our then 3 year old to explore the exhibits. The glassblowing demonstrations on weekends are awesome. Now the outdoor sculpture garden is open too!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More

David Andrews: We visited the FIA today and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful works of art from sculptures to paintings, and the most beautiful huge tapestries from long ago that are just stunning. We were very fortunate to meet James, a museum staff member that explained the history of the tapestries, and even a secret hidden in a painting ! Dont miss this gem of a museum, and ask for James!
Elizabeth Seavey: The entire cultural center is beautiful! So much to see and do! If you're a Genesee County resident, the Sloan is free. On Saturdays, the FIA is free thanks to Huntington Bank. No need to travel afar to see famous works from famous artists, or see glass fired and blown. The Flint Public Library is newly renovated and gorgeous. Treat yourself and go enjoy everything the cultural center has to offer!
Wei Wang: We went to see the “Enchanted: A History of Fantasy Illustration” exhibit, which was great and fun for the whole family. We didn’t know that they had an ongoing glass blowing presentation by the UM-Flint students, so we were all delighted to sit through their expressive performance. Had a wonderful afternoon. Will come back again.
Alpaca: I went here for the first time this past weekend and had a great time. It's laid out in a very engaging and beautiful way, it was fun to explore. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we checked out the enchroma glasses for my colorblind date no problem. Even the security guards were nice, assuring us we could go in certain areas and showing us supplemental material. There was so much to see I'll have to come back
Curtis M. Todd: Very enjoyable half day. Lunch there was a tasty reuben and salad.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More

Flint Repertory Theatre: what do users think?
Jim Blake: Beautiful venue.
Niki Strickland: Intimate setting. Less than 100 seats. The production of The Future is Female was very good. The crew did a great job with the staging and costuming. If that is the high level of production value in all shows, they are not to be missed!
Ethan Dawson: It's a small quaint theater that makes the play feel more realistic. You are so close to the stage that you literally touch it at some points. The small theater atmosphere makes the emotional scenes in any play that much more intense because you can clearly see the pain on the actor's face and it feels almost as though you are part of the story. I saw their showing of Death of a Salesman and the cast was absolutely fantastic. I have seen plenty of plays in a lot of different places and I think this is my favorite theater I've ever been to. I highly recommend seeing something here!
Judi Lieffers: Just saw Death of a Salesman! Best performance in community theatre I have ever seen!!!!!
Robert Vallier: Nicely done. The theater looks wonderful and this production of The Fantasticks was incredible. Had a great time.
Jonathan Fuhrman: Their reimagined world-premier LGBT version of The Fantasticks was the first show I've seen here. I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to theater as I go to NYC several times a year to see shows. This production was on par with professional shows I've seen in New York. I was blown away with the quality of the actors, set design, and how absolutely moving this was. I can't wait to see another show here!
JuliAnne Diesch: An extraordinary production in an intimate setting! While the theatre is small (seating fewer than 100, I believe), the staff maximized every part of the lobby and display cases to "set the stage" for the production. Last night we saw The Fantasticks as it has been rewritten by the playwright; it was phenomenal. The new concept merged with the incredible talent was a powerful and wonderful experience. This production is running through Father's Day 2022 - get there if you can! Or come for one (or all) of the next several productions. The lineup is incredible! Photo includes performers, staff, and a supportive mom!
Peter Macklin: Such a FANTASTIC theater!!! Go, go, GO!!!
Jeffrey Duncan: We drove 1.5 hours to see a show. The theater was comfortable. The show was excellent. The staff friendly. We will definitely go back. Thank you FRT!
Ryan Burton: A great organization that's been serving the Flint and surrounding communities for longer than I've been alive. My 13 yr old son had a great experience this year with the 2 week summer camp. Easily recommended.
joe toole: Good classic 👍 Family entertainment..
Bob Mckinney: Wonderful performance in an intimate setting
thomas mcrae: Out of the woods - fun in the first half, emotional in the second half. Cinderella's voice was tremendous, as were the baker's and jack's.Entire cast was energetic and talented. Most fun I've had at the theater in quite a while. Thank you!!
David Lefevre: Great venue, great actors and great staff. Will definitely be back for another show.
cynthia baker: Super duper talent
Emily Rogers-Driskill: Outstanding professional theatre!
Melanie S: Into the Woods was fantastically done!!
Brian Blake: I have no idea whats inside. lol I'd love to one day check it out, but i go their because alot of pokemon spawn there for pokemon go lol
Chyenne Alvarado: Great performances and wonderful staff!
ellie: I loved it because they helped me with service
Mr Truman: Great place great service

It's great to own a piece of art and truly know what it means. Talking to the artist allows one to know where the heartbeat of the piece came from.
Matthew Charles: Very nice place to see art and communicate with creators of artAs well hear music and learn when and where musicians will be playing in the area .
Angelica Roth: Great venue. There's an artist currently there named Lisa Land that has some beautiful landscapes!! There's a photo under the bridge at the Flint river I'm considering purchasing by that artist. Well worth the trip.

Hagerman Street is a pretend play dream for little kids. The water room is super cool. Waterproof apron recommended. All the old cars you know are still there. They expanded the history of Flint section and it is so informative. The exhibit about the deadly tornado in Flint taught my kiddo about tornados. She's been interested in tornados ever since. There is something for kids of all ages, even infants.
