Brandon Haycock: Oakland County Dock & Hoist is the way to go if you want to get your dock repaired/replaced! I had an old wood dock that was uneven and unstable to the point where I did not even want to walk on it. I ended up calling at least 6-8 places which I wish I would've called Oakland first. They were the only place who answered and said they could help me! They were very professional and nice! I absolutely love the quality of the job they did and will gladly recommend there services to anyone who is looking to fix their dock.

mark marzetti: It is extremely rare that I write a review , but I feel that I need to say the folks at Oakland County Docks and Hoist are simply outstanding. Everyone talks about about service, but its hard to remember anyone who actually lives up to it. OCDH does. I received nothing but quality service and follow thru from them. I bought a new 5500 lb tritoon solar lift with installation from OCDH. They worked with me until everything was perfect. If your looking to buy, install and/or service your lift or dock this is the company you want to work with. I also use them for yearly install and removal.

Peggy Emeigh: I’m such a happy boater now. We had a very problematic hoist situation. Canal property with extreme change in water depth with a very mucky bottom. They were able to reposition my hoist and get me enough height so I’m able to leave the Bimini up. Ian was easy to work with and his crew were super friendly and knowledgeable.

Robin Spielman: Ian and his guys are the greatest!!!!!!After being ignored by 2 other companies (1 which was set up in the fall for this spring) I contacted Ian and explained my issue to him. I had 2 hoists that needed to be combine into 1 and my dock put in. Called him on a Wednesday and he was there on Friday! On Friday they put in my dock and went thru both hoists to see what was needed to get the job done. Once all parts were received they came back and did it in under 3 hours including putting it in the water and leveling it! All of the guys are friendly and professional!! I would recommend them to everyone.Ian and guys - THANK YOU SO MUCH!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!

Alan Brown: I don’t believe I’ve ever dealt with a more accommodating and responsive company in my life.Until I was unable to put my boat on the lift. I was left stranded on the lake after Ian failed to help me out. After speaking with Ian, letting him know I was stranded on the lake with nowhere to put my boat, he said he would call me back. He never did and eventually stopped answering his phone. It was only after Three friends and myself ended up dragging the hoist six feet further out from shore, to deeper water, that I was able to get the boat on the hoist. I’ve since had another hoist installer, and a representative from the Marina, evaluate the original install and was told any decent installer would have known the hoist would not work. The frame was only 12” below water level. So disappointed in Ian. I do not recommend this company based on their complete lack of service after the sale, their quality of installation and Ian total lack of empathy.

Kent Ives: I had a cable snap on my boat lift just before I was going to be out of town for awhile and needed a quick replacement/repair. I contacted Ian and his team in the morning and they were out later that evening to replace the winch tube assembly and left me with a working boat lift. Thanks for the quick turnaround, guys!

Adam Thomas: If we could get into negative numbers I would. I was "hired" by DJ back in August of 2017. I was told to meet him at a local hardware store for my first day. I went with the crew, and the "work" began. If you count smoking pot on job sites "work". Oh, they made it out to the site, but spent more time trying to figure out what they were doing and getting high vs. actually completing any work.The second day, I met the crew out in Waterford. When it was painfully obvious that there were too many guys on the crew scheduled for that job I was sent over to meet another "supervisor" to do a hoist repair. I sat at the customers house for over 2 hours waiting on this so called supervisor. He NEVER Showed. After 2 calls back to DJ, I was told to come back to the original site. Where SURPRISE, they were all high as kites while very sloppily repairing a sea wall. Believe me, if I had been the one paying for it, I would have been PISSED!!I never said anything about the pot or the poor workmanship. However, when I called to find out where I was supposed to meet the crew the following day, DJ never responded. I called and called. Ian the owner was apparently "on vacation" that week. I tried calling the actual number listed here, and never did get a response. (If they thought I was terrible at the work, they could have just told me). Regardless, I was NEVER PAID for the actual work that I did.This is by far the most unprofessional outfit I've ever encountered. Keep your money in your pockets!!!!

Matt Moody: I have never been more dissapointed with a dock company! I spoke to Ian March 2018 when he agreed to put my dock and hoist in by May 15th 2018. I call to confirm on May 14, at which point i was told they would absolutely be here. May 15th came and went, Oakland county dock and hoist NEVER showed up. I proceeded to call daily for a week. The first couple of days they would answer my calls and have excuses as to why they couldn’t show up that day. I even said if you can’t do it just let me know. They responded with we will be there tomorrow. D.J. actually came out to look at my set up and said no probelem we will doit. They never came to put in my dock and hoist!!! The actually started ignoring my calls and texts. Oakland county dock and hoist has left me in a terrible situation! I have to get on anothers schedule and will be another 2 weeks out. PLEASE AVOID USING THESE GUYS! They are unreliable, unproffessional and rude!

As you can imagine,...there were no shortage of companies in the area that were willing to sell me a dock. Tyler was the only one who stressed to me the importance of knowing everything he could learn about our unique lake before suggesting a dock system. Tyler even asked for photos of the shore line and previous dock legs to gain further information regarding the lake bottom. And if all that was not enough. When I raised concern about how I would transport two 16ft sections up to Kalkaska,..Tyler graciously offered one of his personal trailers for the weekend for me to get it there.
