The Family Puppy of Genesee Valley Center: what do users think?
De'Lynn Braetto: I went there looking for a new puppy as my Dog of 16 years passed last November, although I did not find my fur baby I wanted to leave a positiveNote that the lady that assisted us went way over and beyond to help us and she was very much appreciated!!!
Lizzy Smith: Please stay away. Karma will get them eventually.
Sherry Bromley: Horrible place! Not ONE employee approached me while in the store ! 3 girls sitting/lounging on a couch in the back of the store, just chatting away... They barely answered a question, like I interrupted them! Where is management? They allow this kind of behavior from it's employees? I will pass this around, make sure all that care will NOT go to store except to take pictures (I forgot) get the girls laying around on the couch.. waiting for?? Not customers for dogs, maybe they sell something else?? Horrible, just makes me cry!
Trinity James: I wish there was a zero star rating. Clearly no care or compassion for the animals. Sick animals, malnourished and small cages and crates. I also noticed they’re only responding to positive reviews, ignoring months of negative criticism about their business. So sad, adopt elsewhere.
Sabrina: They get their puppies from amish puppy mills and continue to neglect them after they arrive at the store. It’s sick how heartless and disgusting humans can be. Anything for money though, right? Sick.
Neecie Schram: Adorable puppies! Also loved knowing they are picky about their breeders when it comes to picking breeders for their puppies!
Tay Neitzke: This place is absolutely terrible the neglect and starve the puppies . Help to shut this place down !
Avis Sword: This place is disgusting. I honestly feel horrible for these fur babies. Swanson needs to shut them down and their supplier. If enough people rally together we can make that happen. Who's brave enough to step up and defend these poor defenseless animals
Jeremy Eavy ii: Unqualified staff unprofessional don't take care of the animals
Cynthia Murphy: Beautiful animals. They looked sad, though. I wanted to take every one of them home. They looked well taken care of. Their cages were clean, and the staff seemed caring.
Jennifer Gordon: My mom and I was looking and only one person there was willing to show us puppy's. We got a cavapoo $2900, took him to the vet 5 days later he had a parasite. Got him meds to take care of it. 2 weeks after having him he was acting sick, vomiting so took him to the vet again tested positive for parvo and he still had that parasite! So they are not selling healthy animals! And now we are treating him and praying makes it
Megan Gauley: Absolutely horrible how they dogs are obtained and held. If you purchased a dog from here you don’t care for animals and you promote puppy mills. Thanks for being part of the problem.
Ella Guru: Horrific treatment of puppies....this place needs to be SHUT DOWN ASAP!!!
Jules: No thanx!
Michelle Price: Why do we even have to leave a star?? People that make a living off of selling these poor puppies are disgusting!! The puppies look awful and and not well cared for. Take a trip and look for yourself. Appalling!! Stay away!!
Morgan Gianna: DONT SHOP HERE. TERRIBLE PUPPY MILL INDUSTRY. DOGS IN GLASS CAGES. INHUMAN. How can you live with yourself doing this to living creatures?! Shame on all of you.
Danielle Stephenson: Great experience getting my son his puppy.Friendly helpful staff. However my puppy had Giardia they wouldn’t cover it under the contract. They claim to have shut down for a week shortly after I got her but I doubt it. A lady I know got a puppy there a couple weeks ago and the same thing happened to her so it’s still an issue. Also the Paw Tree food is horrible for the dogs. My vet told me it would lead to heart issues. Buyer beware I will never buy from them again.
Gina Bailey: This place needs to be closed down these pets are under fed these conditions are horrible! These poor animals!
Alayna Paige: HORRIBLE PLACE. They need to be shut down. The dogs are locked in small cages and overpriced, leaving the dogs in there longer. The dogs are so skinny and underfed. You can tell this company doesn’t take care of the dogs or care for the dogs well being.
Jacqueline: Dogs are neglected, malnourished, bones, kept in small cage. abuse.
Cindy: Do not buy puppies from this store... They get their puppies from puppy mills and keep them in tiny cages. How is this still legal? I know you think you're rescuing a puppy, but all you're doing is creating demand for more puppies.

Lynn Kay Kennels: what do users think?
Rob Link: We purchased Wilbur from Lynn Kay Kennels. Marci (Lynn's daughter) was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process - from first contact to picking up the pooch.Wilbur has been a delightful, healthy and wonderful addtion to our family and larger community. We could not recomend anyone any higher than how highly we recommend Lynn kay Kennels. Some sad day in the future (hopefully many years from now) Wilbur will go to doggie heaven and we will get the next Newfy from Lynn Kay Kennels. If you are in the market for a Newfy - look no further. You have found your place!PS - I would be remiss if I failed to mention Wilbur does not drool Remarkable for a Newfy.
tabitha babcock: I got my pup from Lynn and it seemed to be a great experience. We were assured my pup was healthy with admittance they had all been taken to the vet after they were sick at 7 weeks. Two pups were still sick on site when I went and picked mine up. In one week (9 weeks old) we were in the ER overnight with insane blood transfusions and issues. Lynn was notified and responded via text. My puppy went through the night when the vet said he wouldn’t make it - thankfully he pulled though again after I spent another $3,000, my vet wrote a certified letter stating that the health issues came from the kennel and I attached receipts and a very kind letter -sent via hard copy in mail- asking if Lynn would help at all with the finances or at least refund the puppy price I had just paid. It was another 9 months of antibiotics and very attentive care to get him to a healthy condition. I DID NOT EVEN GET A RESPONSE from her or the kennel. This was incredibly disappointing as the letter was very kind and informative, they left us to die with knowledge of the sickness and thousands of dollars in fees. Terrible terrible practice and lack of responsibility. Sickening really because we liked them otherwise!
Arizona Rivard: My Newfie Rick Growls is about to be a year old and I am SO happy I purchased him from Lynn Kay Kennels. My puppy has had no health problems, he was potty trained almost instantly (obviously with a consistent training schedule) and has not had an accident in my house since he was 5 months old. He is an angel when he is left home alone with my other dog, he rarely chews things that are not his toys, and when he has chewed on shoes or other items he just gums them so they don’t even end up destroyed!! 💗💗 He seriously adores every animal and person he meets, and he is not reactive when I take him on walks, he’s always just happy to be out sniffing and meeting people. I obviously worked with and trained my dog to help him get to this point, but he is also just naturally very even tempered, gentle and loving, I credit those traits to his wonderful breeder. If I purchase a dog again in the future it will definitely be a Newfie from Lynn Kay Kennels. If you’d like to see more of Rick check him out on Instagram @tobyandrick_barkbrothers
Ian Stewart: I Have a dog from this kennel. He is pretty small based on the other Newfoundland I have. I am amazed by these bad and good reviews. Perplexed by them. Here is my facts and thoughts. I saw the dogs who were running around the house and outside areas they seemed healthy and of proper size she was nice and informed and knew her business. Sat in her house and had a solid feeling she wasn't duping anyone as many have read and purported. The dog was picked up early my choice to do that and I could have chosen to leave it but who would after driving 6 hours. Zeeks been a fine dog friendly and has the proper demeanor. I am also shocked by the owner's responses and the veracity at which kinda or her daughter is bashing people who bought these dogs as really unprofessional and almost certifiable in as much as who would want to not have their issues resolved in private and then come back and change their opinion or change the review future state. I run a consumer focused business and no matter what the customer is going to be right even if they are wrong. Just my 2 cents. Setting the ranking this breeder provided me a dog that been solid and quite an addition to my family. I have zero issue with anything that may have been different ie picking up the dog at 8 for 9 weeks it worked for my schedule and required more dog me time to normalize his behavior again my choice. He grew up with my two daughters as babies and was awesome. Maybe resolving complaints in a partnership and keeping people happy could gone long way to better the relationships going forward. As a side. Note you can track and follow anyone who gives reviews as 5s and if they only gave one they are like bots or kids or friends and should be discounted but alas track gone down find out who they are if the desire is that strong. I'd love to hear from.other reasonably happy people versus the 1s and the 5s
Russell Glass: We got our latest Newfie from Lynn Kaye Kennels. The process was smooth and easy, made so bu the knowledge and professionalism of Marci. Pickup was very informative, as well as giving us a very positive feeling about the environment that our pup was raised in. Now, three months later, our guys has grown from a 14 pound “chocolate chip “ to a 55 pound “chocolate chunk”. He is healthy, happy, and gets attention everywhere he goes. We could not be happier with the whole experience, and would enthusiastically recommend Lynn Kay to anyone looking for a Newfie as a new family member.
Kari C: We visited Lynn Kay Kennels to pick up our new puppy. Marci was very friendly and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions before I even asked and made it clear that I could contact her if I ever had any questions. The dogs all looked happy and healthy and were very friendly, and the facility was clean and spacious. Our puppy is perfect in every way. He is very healthy and cute and has a great personality! I highly recommend Lynn Kay Kennels if you are looking for a happy, healthy Newfie to add to your family!
Steven Clute: My wife and i picked up our new newf pup 1 week ago and are very pleased with her. Lynn and marci were very professional and knowlegable about there breed. They allowed us to meet the parents of our pup and tour there facility as well as meet the rest of there family of dogs. I would recommend this breeder and would have no problem being a repeat customer.Thank you lynn and marci
Meghan Green: This is our second pup from Lynn Kay Kennels. Very healthy and great temperament. Will definitely be back the next time we get a puppy.
Jenn Quarrels: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessWe brought home our puppy Bear a few months ago and we could not be happier with him such a happy healthy boy. Marci was wonderful and very knowledgeable and it made my daughter's day that she got visit with the big newfies. Thank you again would highly recommend Marci and Lynn with Lynn Kay Kennels.
Greg Iafeliece: We searched for a dry mouth Newfie breeder and Lynn Kay Kennels always came out on top. Our‘Little’ girl (Beeftank) was driven to us in CO without incident and great care was taken by the delivery person. All our questions before purchase were answered and the kennel called to followed up as soon as she was delivered to us to ensure everything was going well and to go over all the care and feeding instructions. We would buy another puppy from them again!
Lancr Williams: They have the best dogs. What a wonderful experience it was. A must when looking for a puppy.Great people you will love them and their dogs.
Susan Pratt: My husband and I drove from Pittsburgh to Lynn K Kennels to pick up our puppy, Zebulon. What a fabulous experience! Marci greeted us so warmly, showed us Zeb's parents and all her other grown Newfies, and spent lots of time going over the paperwork. We like that Zeb came home with his microchip (thank you, Marci!) and his AKC registration. This photo is from his first dinner, after riding in the car all day. Please listen to Lynn K Kennels when they tell you about their puppies' food. We followed their advice and Zeb eats like a champ and will be double his weight from pickup day when he and I go for his next set of vaccinations. We are thrilled with our puppy! He's sweet, loving, and smart (and I know everyone says this about their dog). He and our eight year old Newf, Abe, play several times a day and then they sleep together on the floor. Zeb already knows to ring his bells to go outside and he is sleeping comfortably at night in his crate. We could not be happier with Zeb and are thrilled with our experience. Thank you, Lynn K Kennels, for this newest member of our family.
Anna Williams: We have a Newfie named George we got from this breeder and he is 11 years old. Best dog I ever had. We had another Newfie before George (named Newman 🤭), and George drooled much less than our first Newfie. Such a good old boy. I remember we also had him delivered to our area in South Jersey for an additional fee, so worth it. Thank you for our Big Boy
Mindy Flow: I want to start off by saying the first time I ever met the owners of Lynn Kay Kennels, Linda Ward and Marci Ward-Kubik, was when I walked through the front door of Linda’s house. I am not a relative or employee and when I write reviews I tell the truth as I see it. If someone deserves praise, I give it to the extent that it is earned, and if someone earns a 5 star, they get one. Over the course of the year that I waited for Sophie, our new puppy, I corresponded with them by email and phone several times. The response to every inquiry, question, and reassurance (that we hadn’t been forgotten) message was prompt, polite and thorough. My daughter, a veterinarian very familiar with bad breeders, recommended we go to the facility and make sure we liked what we saw before making such an important purchase, so we flew to MI from NC. We arrived and Marci immediately took us on a tour of the property, showing us the dam and sire of our pup as well as introducing the other on-site canine members of the Lynn Kay family. I say it that way because that is what they are treated like - family. The dogs there were happy, friendly and well-mannered. Their coats were well groomed and as clean as large, playful dogs romping around in grass can be after copious amounts of rain. There was not a drooling mouth or droopy eye to be seen. Period. I learned that Linda had consulted with two geneticists very early on in her breeding program and with their help, successfully determined which lines she should breed to gain the dry mouth, and tight eye look she wanted. My daughter and I were very impressed at the knowledge of and love for the Newfoundland breed these two women displayed. Experience is an excellent teacher and it is evident they have learned a lot over the years. They begin socializing the pups at birth with both children and other dogs, and training them with the basics you must teach a puppy before it becomes the size of a pony. “No”, “No bark”, and “Off” are the first habits they concentrate on. Sophie had learned these by the time we picked her up at 8 weeks- not saying that she, like any toddler, doesn’t push it from time to time to see if the rules have changed, but she responds to correction admirably. None of the adult dogs we observed on the property jumped up on anyone and only one out of the whole tribe barked, and that was because he just wanted to say “hello” and couldn't get to us, not “get off my turf”! None were aggressive in the least, and all were gorgeous. Linda and Marci spent a long time answering our questions without condescension, tag teaming at times to handle other appointments. They took care of all the paperwork, registering us with the AKC before we even left the house. Sophie is very smart, alert, inquisitive and was so quiet and well behaved on the return flights, that no one even knew we had a puppy with us until we landed and disembarked. She passed her first “official physical” with flying colors and her first fecal test came back with no sign of intestinal parasites at all. My daughter and I couldn’t be happier at this point. I was not looking for a dog to compete in a show ring, but one that can be trained as a working dog for water rescue and be a safe, fun dog around my grandkids, cats and other dogs. I realize that things can happen that can’t be predicted but I am confident that Lynn Kay Kennels is as reputable a breeder as can be found for what I am looking for and I would happily recommend them to anyone.
Julie Fox: We couldn't be any happier with our puppy Athena! My husband and I are so glad we chose Lynn Kay Kennels. I spoke with Marci through email back in August 2020 and she contacted me the same day with a plethora of information about how she and her mother run the kennel along with when she was going to be breeding. We went to check out the place in September. It was very clean and we got to meet some of the dogs. Hazel was the cutest and we hope she is growing nice and big. :) We asked for a brown female and were willing to wait but got super lucky and Marci let us know in October that there were some brown females and we could have one. Everything was easy; paying the deposit and communicating. If you have questions Marci is there to answer them whether you choose to get a puppy or not. They are very knowledgeable and they truly care about the dogs. We highly recommend!
Ellen Kopp: We live in Illinois and drove to Michigan to pick up our Newfoundland puppy from Lynn Kay Kennels. Tucker, our puppy, was well worth the drive. The kennel is clean. We met Marci, the owner’s daughter who was informative throughout the process. This is our 3rd Newfie. We have had him at the vet and they said he is healthy and looks great. He is doing great with his crate training and is just absolutely adorable. I highly recommend this kennel where they have dry-mouthed Newfoundland’s.
Frank Phillips: Great experience and we brought home the cutest puppy ever. Linda and Marci were very organized and had everything ready for us. Nice to be invited in the house for paperwork and then outdoors to meet the dogs. We were very impressed that the dogs did not bark or drool. Once home, our boy Reno settled in nicely. He passed his puppy checkup with flying colors. Our vet said our puppy is perfect and the vet techs fell hard for him. Thank you so much Linda and Marci!
Matthew Beyer: Very nice. Welcomed my wife and I inside, and introduced us to all of her newfoundlands and explained what they like and how to take care of them properly before introducing us to our new female newfy puppy. Will definitely be going back for our next one.
Maegan O'Byrne: Critical:Professionalism
Louie Menard: Positive:Professionalism,QualityWe knew that buying a puppy during a pandemic wasn’t going to be a normal experience but Linda and Marci made the experience as painless as possible. We absolutely love our Newfie Bahloo.
Melissa Margrif: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueWe love our boy Bronco! Thank you Linda! He just turned one! He’s beautiful. We are very happy. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to welcome a Newfie to our family. There are a lot of breeders who are not friendly and only care about money. You helped us all along the way! Thank you!

Stonehill Kennels: what do users think?
K: Obedience classes are great, and all staff has been so helpful. New building is nice and we have a lot of fun. Hope to have agility soon. Great trainers. Love seeing the variety of dogs, but her GSD's are outstanding!
Nancy Hubinger's: Awful I won’t recommend this place to anyone, they are over priced and they don’t care about our babies.I trained board my pup with Stacie and she was useless, I can tell all they care is about money, don’t put your dogs In this place they won’t treat them right and will be traumatized after their boarding with them.
Emily Hollon: We sent our pittie Darwin here for 3 weeks of training with their head trainer Stacy, and were really happy with how it went. He struggled with reactivity and recall, and she had him in a room within a few feet of another dog by the end of training with no reaction whatsoever.I was most impressed by how much time she took to understand his issues, though, and how much time she took to help make sure we understood how to best work with him when we went to pick him up.I can’t recommend Stacy and Stonehill highly enough. This was worth every penny.
Jazz313KJMcphaul on Youtube Jazz313KJMcphaul: Great working dogs. Good hips with X-Ray
Brad Clarke: Stonehill is the best! Stacy did a great job with my 3 y/o German Shepherd during his 2 week board and train. My dog was always so hyper around the house. Stacy taught him and then taught me how to continue this success.Highly recommend Stonehill for dog training!
Steven Seitz: I took my dog there for the board and train program. The training was good, and my dog is definitely better than when she went in. I will say that although they do train breeds, the drop off process was anything but a warm welcome for me and my bully. The gentleman that was there did not hesitate to let me know how much he wasn't a fan of bully breeds. I was not asked about her feeding schedule and when I mentioned she ate twice a day the response was "well I try to get around to a second feeding if I can," which are not words you want to hear when leaving your dog in a strangers hands for 2 weeks. You are provided a link to track your dog's progress which is good and updated periodically. My dog had sustained scratches to the face (was never addressed or given any reason) they weren't deep, but again when you drop off a dog without scratches on their face, you would expect for there to be no injuries or at least informed of any issue.Overall the training was good for the price, but the atmosphere was anything but friendly. If I need to board my dog while out of town, I would personally not choose this place. If you have a German Shepard, I'm sure you're treated like royalty and this place would be a 5 stars.
Eddie B: Stonehill Kennels isn't just a breeder! They have created a culture of excellence and true love for German Shepherds. My wife and I found this place by accident, and we are so glad we did! We brought home our puppy "KODA" (Zola/Evanger) about 3-4 months ago, and the support we received from the staff has been stellar from start to finish! We've boarded our puppy multiple times, and also attended the "puppy social" event. Every interaction with Stonehill Kennels has exceeded our expectations. They treat every dog as family, but most importantly... they treat us as family too! I highly recommend anyone interested in bringing home a German Shepherd to contact Stonehill Kennels first. You will not be disappointed!
Mario Ricardo: Never been here but I absolutely love the video of the 100 German Shepherds roaming freely. As a prior MWD Handler it made me smile tremendously.
Betsy Zielinski: We sent our dog for a two week training session at Stonehill Kennels. Stacy and her staff exceeded our expectations with the results that were achieved! He came back a much calmer, better mannered dog that would now come every time we called him, settled on a cot instead of constantly pacing and getting into trouble, and for the first time really looked to us as the alphas. We can't thank Stonehill Kennels enough!
Allison Unsicker: Could not recommend Stonehill Kennels more. We were connected with them through a friend who owns a Stonehill GSD. We were so impressed with him that we chose to do training for our first dog with Stacy. After getting more familiar with the kennel and staff we made the decision to get our second GSD from Stonehill and we are madly in love. She is confident, stable, healthy and absolutely beautiful. They breed trainable, gorgeous, level headed dogs. Our dogs love everyone who works here. We choose to board with Stonehill as well because of the fact that our dogs are safe, getting exercised and comfortable here. This is a place that truly cares about their dogs.
Christopher Nieman: My dog is currently there as I'm writing this. I originally came across Stone Hill several months ago. My dog was scheduled to go there and right when he was supposed to start he came down with an infection and put on antibiotics. Stacy worked with us to make sure this opportunity wasn't missed. I've continued to hear only great things about Stonehill, Stacy, and her family. They run a great and impressive operation, and I couldn't be happier with their service. I'll share about the end product when he comes home.
Carter Kemmis: Took my dog Raven to see Stacey. She was there for 3 weeks with her brother Harper. Very nice trainer and took great care of the dogs. I went into this thinking my dog was a lost cause, and when i went to pick her up and went over the training procedures i was in shock! She listened to my commands and paid close attention to me.My dog came back as a new dog. I’m very happy i put the money into my dog and into this training service.Highly recommend Stone Hill to anyone!
Brittany Bush: Stacy & her staff do a great job caring for & training dogs! We sent our dogs for a 3 week board & train and we are so happy with the results Stacy is a miracle worker! She helped with basic obedience & major reactivity issues and provided us updates throughout our dogs stay. I would recommend Stonehill Kennels to anyone!! Super flexible, accommodating, professional, caring, great at communication and super hardworking staff!
Nancy Phillips: We bought our Dutchess from them! Sadly she went over the rainbow bridge!! Best dog we ever had! Need to get another soon.
Johnny BallGame: I'm 48 yrs old, and I have been blessed to have been the owner of 4 German Shephards from Stonehill Kennels. My family and I decided life just wasn't the same. I called Stonehill and we talked about "Pairings", and the color and size I was looking for. Of course you never rush this process. Afterall, my Shephards all have lived to be 10-14 years old. So waiting for the right pairing is key, and after 6 months our new boy was born. 8 weeks later we welcomed " Rocco " Von Stonehill. Our home had a new family member.Rocco will turn 1 yr old on June 27th 2022. He's an incredible dog.
Ray politz: Best GSD around and loving people who breed them they have bee doing it for years
Jerry Calandre: I purchased Barron in June of 2019. The evening I brought him home i had to rush him to Blue Pearl...Bear had a severe respiratory infection . A few months later Bear developed severe panosteitis. He needed medication for the next 7 months to deal with the pain. Vet visits, radiology exam plus medication . Three months later Barron developed Hygromas on all of his limbs , 6 months later Baron had elbow dysplasia in both front limbs requiring extensive orthopedic surgery.. Immediately following surgery Barron had to go through rehab . Next Barron developed a bacterial infection...... 5 weeks ago Barron developed a severe cough....pneumonia, then liver failure. Barron died on January 10th 2022...he wasn't even 3 years old....He was the joy in my life. I don't blame Stonehill kennels...I'm certain that every once in a while a puppy can be born that is unhealthy but that is MY experience with Stonehill Kennels
Ernie webster: I only get my dogs from shelly
Connie Glynn: Best German Shepherd dogs EVER!
Tyler Vaughn: Was nice
Tammy Williams: Always friendly and knowledgeable owners who love their dogs and enjoy sharing trial, error, success with others.

Blackwoods Labradors Dog Breeder: what do users think?
amvad: Janice is an outstanding breeder of English Labradors. My wife and I got our 7 week old puppy in August 2021 and she's been a very well behaved dog. We actually needed to get her a week early since we were moving out of Michigan before the 8-week adoption period, but Janice went out of her way to get her shots and deworming early. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better breeder!Update: she’s almost 2 years old and a very happy pup!
Meri Ana: Great experience with Blackwoods Labradors! Janice is very accommodating and answered all of my questions. We brought home our new family member in December of 2022 and he's everything we wanted in a family dog. Great temperament, highly trainable and intelligent and down right adorable! I would highly recommend Blackwoods Labradors.
