Nigel Macpherson: It's a shame the fire chief tried to fire 2 white firefighters who left 2 black kids in a burning home after "clearing" the house, 6mins later 2 black fire fighters find those 2 black boys in a room. The white firefighters intentionally lied on reports and chief wanted them fired only to be protected by the mayor, one still has his job and the other was allowed to retire. On top of that there are no charges for the federal crime of lying on the reports.

These teachers focus on their students as an individual which ensures long lasting knowledge for every student. They are willing to go the extra mile both with the normal course of study but also with life skills that are important outside the classroom. Helping students understand the value of their education can be life changing. I am proud we have such a wonderful school right here in Flint.We are so lucky to have stumbled across Mrs. Nowakowski. We will forever appreciate her compassion and education. When our young child was falling behind, Mrs. Nowakowski was able to give us suggestions on HOW to help our child learn on a level that she understood. I can never repay her for the knowledge she has shared to help our child succeed. Any student would be lucky to have her as their teacher. Mrs. Nowakowski will always go above and beyond because she truly wants every student to get the best education possible.

Michelle Essix: The New Standard is a school that cares about not only academic growth of students, but their social and emotional growth as well. I have worked at several other schools and can honestly say it would be hard to find a school with teachers who care more about the overall well-being of their students than those at The New Standard.

Oh and or bus drivers are amazing.

JR The COD Player: My son have been going here since he was in head start and he loves it. Everybody knows him when he walk in the building and when he leaves. They are very protective over the students. Keep up the good work.

Mark Cornwell: Just want to give a BIG shout out to all the EMS folks who rescued me when I stupidly fell off my sugar shack roof and broke my left femur. They were very professional and got me to the hospital safely. You hope you never need these folks but it is very comforting to know you can rely on then if you want in times of need. Kudos to NOCFA!!!!
