Denske: I can only speak from my own subjective experience but this doctor in my opinion is awful. Ordered an upper GI and an ultrasound, after 3 weeks I finally called saying what's going on, no follow up appointment, no results, and was told my follow up was with my primary care physician. Anyways a week and a half later I go see my PCP and he has received 0 information from Almounajed. I call their office infuriated and the office staff ran around trying to get me my results. So finally after holding the nice nurse managed to read me off her interpretation of the results and tried to appease me to the best of her ability. So, the results were mostly inconclusive and despite me telling them how bad my stomach symptoms were this doctor has done nothing to help me figure out how to go about dealing with what is going on. A doctor is meant to help people from what I understand and this doctor absolutely did 0 in terms of helping guide me to fix my issues. I tried to let this go but cannot and will be filing a complaint with the medical board, this experience was absolutely unnacceptable.

Janette White: I would not recommend this Doctor too anyone. He always over books. He only cares about himself and making more money. I had an appointment with him on 7/11/14 my appointment was set for 11:30, I got too my appointment at 11:20. Listening to others in the waiting room complaining that there appointments were set for 10:30 and there were 3 of them set up for the same time. I also had another 2 ahead of me...that is 5 people ahead of me. Not to mention the patience he already had back in the rooms. I also had him to do a colonoscopy on me...I was in surgical holding for 3 hours (yes he over books them also)..he walked back in forth in front of us waiting to get into surgery, talking on his cell phone. No consideration and or compassion for his patience... HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!

B: Office staff is rude/don’t call you back. Major lack of communication all around.After waiting a month from when my doctor sent a referral, saying they would contact me. I spent a week calling multiple times a day for a week to get an appointment scheduled. They kept telling me they were waiting on my referral. The next week I get a letter in the mail to call and schedule an appointment since they received my referral. Why couldn't they just call and schedule it?!I called and made an appointment that was 3 weeks out. Never got a reminder/confirmation call for that appointment and honestly forgot until the day after the scheduled appointment. Days later I got another letter in the mail to reschedule due to the missed appointment. I called back and rescheduled another 3 weeks out.Today was my rescheduled appointment and due to them only having mid day appointments for new patients I had to leave work in the middle of the day to get there. I ended up being 2 MINUTES late standing at the check in counter only to be told they don’t see late patients and that I need to reschedule. Which would be another 3 weeks out. I understand not accepting lateness. But literally 2 minutes?! On top of no reminder/confirmation calls even though I was told when I scheduled the appointment that there would be a confirmation call. At that time I would expect to be let know that being 2 minutes late is unacceptable. Now I’ve lost 2 hours of work, driving over 45 mins each way. Only to be in the same place I was before.Will be finding a different GI doctor to see and won’t be recommending them.

Nicole Lackney: Dr’s have extremely TERRIBLE bedside manners. Keeps making my son go through UNNECESSARY TESTING! Upper GI and lower GI were done in June then repeated in August then had a repeat one September 30th. On the one in August was told my son had a buldging area in his small intestines that he wanted to get a “better look at”. Said IN HIS WORDS “could be good, could be bad, could be nothing” What Dr says that?? VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Dr keeps on ordering unnecessary tests and keeps having him come back. My son is autistic and deserves answers (there should be some answers by now) with all the testing he’s had done. Had a different Dr than who he normally see’s. Gave him medication that he’s never had for any of his other procedures (not sure why they did not give him what he’s always gotten for procedures in the past). The Dr gave him the medication which causes my son to have a reaction like he’s never had before and my son became very combative and looked as if he was having a seizure. His eyes were rolling in the back of his head, his body had all kinds of muscle jerks. He seriously looked like he was possessed by the medications that they gave to him. The office staff is RUDE every single time I have to speak to them, BOTH Drs my son has seen don’t seem to know what the hell they are doing nor is there any communication between them. WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS OFFICE AGAIN!!!!

sarah egbert: Rude and unhelpful office staff. Ordered over $5000 worth of tests for me only to not give me any results or follow up appointment. When I call to just inquire IF I needed to see him again all they would tell me was "you get a follow up appointment if you want one" meanwhile the meds he had prescribed had run out and none of my symptoms had gotten better much less resolved. It's unfortunate because the doctor himself seems fairly nice and caring.

Eric The Explorer: This place saved my life and I'd like to give special mention to the person that actually doesn't get a whole lot of credit but Trish is the person that makes that place run along with her sergeant in arms sitting there man in the window. However Mamoon Elbedawi is a SUPERB DOCTOR, Trish it is behind him making him a good doctor. She saved my life along with of course the doctor however if it wasn't for Trish I wouldn't be here to give this review today. If you're reading this Trish thank you very much for all your help and understanding in my time of need. I may have misunderstood you at first but I understand that you basically have to take care of that whole office by yourself and you don't have time to be S with the people that are interested in taking care of their bodies so after I got over that hump and we understood each other I believe that I could actually get along with you if you weren't my nurse it's not a nightingale syndrome that I'm feeling lol, it's just professional admiration that I have for her and all our hard work not very many people can do what she does. Single-handedly running I'll hold doctor's office I know I couldn't do it they're very thorough at this place and they will help you but they're not going to hold your hand and walk you through the entire process you're an adult when you can get the things done that you need to do it yes they demand a lot but do you want to live or do you want to die that's what it comes down to. And some people you'd be surprised want them to do all your work. So no matter what it takes you got to get out there and do all the tedious stuff they ask you to do even though it's not pleasant you still have to go out and do it even and -30 below windshield days that they tell everybody not to go out and he's still got to go. She's there so they wouldn't expect anything different from you. And that's how I feel about that!

Marcia Hammonds: I have a hiatal hernia and have been taking proton inhibitors for decades. I explained to Dr. Desai that I would like to have it repaired so that I could stop taking the meds as they are not good long-term I’ve learned. After my endoscopy he said it’s a small hernia just keep taking your medication and that was the end of the conversation. I gained absolutely nothing for the huge amount of money this cost me. I canceled my colonoscopy with him. I will find a Doctor who cares about more than $$$$$.

Tracy Love: Dr. Desai is not thorough. He didn't acknowledge my issues at all. He did not ask me hardly any questions and the total time that he spent in the room was about 4 minutes. I have serious health issues and it was very important that he understand my condition. He could have cared less and then couldn't even pronounce the condition that I said and called it something else. He was nice. That was the only reason why this has one star. Other than that, this is the kind of doctor that you do not want to break the bank or put yourself in financial distress going to because he is not thorough and he doesn't really care. I'm not sure why he accepted another patient if he is this apathetic to his patients symptoms and well-being. Now I have to go and make an appointment with a completely different doctor and wait for a five more months before I get in to be seen about some serious issues unless I have to go to the emergency room first. This is not acceptable. These doctors who could care less are a dime-a-dozen around Genesee County. Dr. Salimi was amazing. This guy doesn't compare even in the slightest to Dr. Salimi.

Juanita Fox: Dr Desai was so kind and his nurses were so kind. I was found to have colon cancer the year previous and I was filled with anxiety. Everyone made me feel that I was loved and would be ok. Especially a nurse named Kathy.

Purple Willows: This doctor is rude and arrogant. The ONLY good thing about his practice was Dr. Salimi...who passed away.The office staff are also rude and incompetent....I had to actually file a complaint against them AND Desai. Find another Doctor....

Alayna Alexander: My friend had been going to Dr. Kaushal for years due to hepatitis. He caught his cancer early because he stayed ON TOP of his condition. Sales reps are always taken right back everywhere..so that is not a valid complaint. Waiting past your appt. Is common with GOOD doctors! They squeeze patients who are referred to them as best as they cane so you aren't waiting months to get in. He definitely is a very nice man and caring doc.

Nancy Schultz: This was my first time at this facility and with Dr. Kushal. The staff in the reception area, surgical area and the surgical room were the best. The people were very friendly, courteous and answered any and all questions that I had. Dr. Kushal was very professional, friendly and courteous and answered all of my questions, as well as my husbands. He explained the procedure and gave us photos of the procedure and explained each photo. Very enlightening. I would not hesitate see Dr. Kushal again. I was very impressed. I would definitely recommend this facility and Dr. Kushal.

Family Care Plus Physical Therapy and Wellness: Just had endoscopy and very pleased with the process. Dr. Kaushal's office staff is very good. Friendly and polite staff. Appointment scheduling method is easy and convenient. Timely call back and reminder system.Dr. Kaushal is very experienced and humble practitioner. He explains things in simple and easy way before and after the procedures. Comforting experience when you are in good hands. I would highly recommend Dr. Kaushal for his services. My procedure was done at Genesys and it is the best place to go.Thank you Dr. Kaushal and staff.

Sharon Kidder: Never would I go to his charter endoscopic center on charter dr in flint again . They do not care how long you wait . Sons appt was at 1:30 . You must be here 1 hour early . So we have been waiting since 12:25 pm. It's now 3:00 pm and they just came and took the man next to us waiting also ! It takes approx 25-30 minutes if there are no problems .... they had sales reps show up at 1:15 and were taken right back . This held the dr up an additional hour . If they make an appointment to sell meds than patients should not be schedualed also at the same time . These patients have had all kinds of liquids to clean out their stomach 24 hours ago as well as been up all night ! Nothing to eat or drink by mouth this long . And meds are worn off now before his surgical procedure. I'm so discussed with this place , very unprofessional also . My sons been laying here for almost 2 hours and no one has asked if he's ok ! Bad place to lay and wait for a rear end scope !!! Never again !!!!!

I ended up switching doctors because he didn’t even remember doing 2 scopes on me and told me they wrote the wrong dr down when he’s the only stomach dr I’ve ever seen, he also only prescribes new medication and won’t do any test to figure out what’s wrong and I’ve been dealing with my stomach issues since March of 2022, if you make an appointment expect to be seen 2-4 hours after your appointment time so if you work I recommend taking the whole day off. I’ve also tried calling them because they are only billing one insurance of mine and they either don’t answer or they say they will change my billing and NEVER do. The staff also doesn’t like to give messages to the dr if you call, I’ve called so many times with questions about procedures I was supposed to have done and they ALWAYS say they will talk to the dr and get back a hold of you we’ll I’ve been about 5 months for a call back!

Noor Amor: Dr. Alnounou was terrific, knowledgeable, and friendly. I immediately felt at ease and I really did receive expert medical care. I was impressed by the overall experience . I understand the wait gets a little long but it is honestly worth it for what you receive. I highly recommend.

My colonoscopy was almost two hours behind schedule, I let it go because things happen, it could have been an emergency with another patient.The follow up appointment was worse. Went into the waiting room, my appointment was at 4:10 and they closed at five. Ten of us in the waiting room. Absolutely unreal.

Alex Mcmahan: I don't normally review a lot of people or places on here, but when I was looking up the number to call the office, I was a little shocked to see some of these very negative reviews. I can only speak for myself, but that was not my experience at all. All of my dealing with Dr Alnounou were at the McLaren surgery center for my Colonoscopy, but I thought the doctor showed nothing but the upmost professionalism during the whole process. He came and talked to me after the procedure for a little bit, and I was quite happy with how everything went.

Kelly Warren: Worst office that I have been too. I would call and the staff would never get back with me. Had a stint in for 3 years that only suppose to be in less than 6 months. Having problems now and they finally are getting it out. Worst staff ever.

I received several reminders about the appointment; and when I arrived early for my appointment, it had already been canceled. The receptionist was very rude and argued with me that my voice mailbox was full when she tried to call and cancel. Today 8/9/21, I've received texts and emails about how I missed my appointment last Friday. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I arrive to my appointment today....RUDE!!!!! He needs new staff!!!!!!!!!!

Bella: I would have given Dr. Alnounou ZERO stars if that was an option. He needs to be sued for malpractice. I would NOT recommend this doctor AT ALL. Here is why:First and foremost, he is RUDE and makes his patients cry. I witnessed a patient leaving his office crying because he wouldn’t answer their questions and rushed them out the door. The receptionist was left to kindly console the patient. I’m not sure why he rushed the patient out because his average wait time for an appointment is TWO HOURS OR MORE. Even if you’re the first patient of the day, he is ALWAYS 30-60 minutes late. He NEVER runs on time for hospital procedures either and he’s always rushing you out the door after a procedure too. He leaves so many questions unanswered. It’s terrifying.Secondly, unless you demand a printed script to take to the pharmacy yourself, DO NOT depend on him to send prescriptions in a timely manner. Whether you call, have a procedure, or an office visit, you will wait 3-5 business days to get your medication. It doesn’t matter how imperative or time-sensitive the medication is to your health. It’s the EXACT SAME with blood work. He tells you he’s going to order your labs and then it takes him several days to do it. The staff is unable to send blood work and medications out for him because he takes days, sometimes weeks, to finish an office visit note or procedure note. And please DO NOT expect quick test results. Patients will wait 4-6 WEEKS, no matter how severe their issues are, just to get results from procedures. You have to call and bother his staff several times in order to get him to do his job.I feel really bad for his staff. It seems like he never keeps an employee around for more than a few months. I’ve seen him yell at his staff and intimidate and embarrass them in front of each other and in front of patients. He is extremely unprofessional with his staff. I would NEVER want to work for him. I would NEVER be his patient again. I would NEVER recommend my worst enemy to be put under his care, they would probably die before they got any kind of quality care from Dr. Alnounou.

Cheryl Collins: When I got to the office they didn't have me in the schedule till they l looked in the computer. The Dr was supposed to call in a prescription. Took.me 2 days to get Prilosec which I'm not even sure was what it was supposed to be. Do you take 3 a day for 3 weeks then 2a day for 2 weeks. I already took Prilosec twice a day for ever and it didn't work.

Duran George: I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Alnounou and his wonderful staff Amanda and Jennifer after a pretty worrisome time in my life. I was referred to Dr. Alnounou and his team by my GP for several digestive issues, and I am glad I was! Amanda and Jennifer are amazing and have answered any questions I have had. Super professional and kind; you can tell they care about their patients. Dr. Alnounou is very compassionate and clearly cares about his patients as well. He addressed all of my concerns and never once made me feel rushed, even when he had several other patients to get to. This team deserves a 5 star! I see so many reviews by disgruntled patients complaining about wait time and biopsy turn around results; this is not their fault, this is a medical specialty practice, they have many patients! I will gladly wait as much time as necessary to receive accurate, thorough and compassionate treatment. Right now things have been even more rough with Covid; and Dr. Alnounou, Amanda, and Jennifer still put their lives on the line to take care of people! Thank you for that and everything else your diligent and kind team bring to our community.

Raeann Gervasi: Actually not even worth 1 star. This place is terrible. Appointment was 11:45. Finally called him at 1:30. The at 3:00 checked on him, they were finally taking him back for procedure. Will NEVER come here again, and STRONGLY suggest everyone find a better place to go. Brother in law had same thing in saginaw, from start to finish, less then an hour.

Caryn Hillier: I can't believe this so called doctor...I saw my dr on a Thurs, she called his office since I saw him when I was in the hospital. His office got me in immediately. At that time he told me I needed to have 2 tests ASAP. I had both tests the following Mon... he also told me before I left his office to call him back a couple days after the tests. I also did that and have waited several days for him to call me back. No response. I called on Thurs. 2 times, the second call Amanda said she would be talking to him before 4:30 and she would definitely get back with me. Of course no call. It's now Fri a.m. and now they won't answer the phone. Probably they have called ID and don't have an answer. This is literally my life on the line here. I went on my own and got my results but don't know exactly what they mean. You go to a specialist to get help and with him you get a bunch of nothing. He just took the money. If you have another option of a doctor, in my opinion, I would use the other dr unless you don't want results. I, personally, would NEVER use him.

Diana Maynor: Yes,you wait for a good hr. past appt. In my opinion he is worth it! He takes his time with you,he does procedures in days not weeks. Very through, very attentive! Listens to you and does not over talk or disregard your questions! A doctor you want on your side!

SunShinyDa Da: Admitted to McLaren on a Friday evening throwing up blood, had to have blood transfusion. This Dr came in on Saturday & said will wait till Monday to do scopes to find out prob. Monday waited all day & around 5 pm was taken for upper & lower scopes. Daughter drove from Southfield to be at McLaren & get report, Dr never spoke to her or myself after completing the scopes, never called, nothing! Nope, won't see him again!

Vanessa Taylor: Long wait, every time. Minimum of an hour and a half to two hours past your appointment time before you’re seen. There is only one Doctor in this office, and a lady whose appointment was 30 minutes after mine was called back before me. I said something and they told me I’d be next. While the desk is friendly the office itself isn’t ran professionally and the Doctor doesn’t value any ones time. He doesn’t call back with test results either.

Kathleen Bennett: Desk staff is friendly. Doctor is horrible about correspondence and prescriptions. He will not ever call you to discuss results or answer questions. It’s been about 3 weeks. Will not return calls or pick up when I’ve asked to wait on hold for him. Apparently his patients mean nothing to him. Expect at least an hour wait past your appointment time. Don’t waste your time. You will find no answers and be left with nothing but frustration.

Laura Britton: Dr AlNouNou is a kind doctor that has really been trying to get to the root of the problem with my family member. I can’t really complain about the wait in his office because I wait for a long time at every doctor I see. Especially the ones that talk to you about your condition. We are still going through more testing but dr AlNouNou is determined to figure out what is wrong. He is a very good doctor and I would recommend him to others. His staff is very friendly and helpful as well. Amanda is the main person I spoke with and she is kind and very helpful.. I have two family members seeing him now and if I needed a GI doctor I would go to him as well.

_ Angie: Dr. Alnounou is an amazing diagnostician, with a remarkable bedside mannor. I had sharp pain in my right abdomin that felt like a sword running through to my back. My liver ensymns were spiking, but after many tests and trips to the Er, nobody could tell me what was wrong with me. My daughter is a nurse, and had been impressed with Dr. Alnounou. On top of this, she told me that he was brother to, Dr. Nounou, my father's heart doctor, who was so kind and compassionate. On my very first visit, Dr. ALnounou diagnoised me with a bit of a rare problem, and sent me to UofM for surgery. I also called Dr. Alnounou when my grandson had some issues, and though he is not a pediatric gastrointerologist, he called back with information, and the name of a pediatric specialist for us. He really does care so much about his patients. Some people complained about the wait, and it is long, but I feel he is absolutely worth the wait. In addition, the ladies in the office couldn't be nicer. Jessica especially took the time to discuss my grandson's issues over the phone, even though he was not a patient, and Dr. Alnounou did not treat children. I will be forever greatful to Dr. Alnounou for finally diagnoising me, Dr. Nounou for treating my father with the same compassion and kindness, and Jessica for her time and sympathetic ear.Anyone would be lucky to have this doctor and his staff cate fir them.

Shelley Mitchell: Amanda with Dr. Alnounou's office was VERY helpful!! She was friendly, reassuring, and professional. The colonoscopy went well and uneventful. The staff at the McLaren surgical center were friendly and helpful as was Dr. Alnounou. Amanda was a huge help with making my procedure go smoothly.

Mary H: The procedure went well and Dr Desai did a good job. I am only giving two stars because after the fact I paid a bill in full for 400, and was only credited 40. When I called to complain the advised me to email them a copy of the cashed check and when I tried to the email address was incorrect and of course now the office is closed for the day. I am hoping to get this resolved soon, but why should I have to take extra steps on my only day off to correct their mistakes anyway? Now I'm going to have to take time out of work to call them again and make sure this gets fixed. They can't fix their own mistake, but of course, they will have no problem taking the steps to send my bill to collections if I don't fix it now. I am very disappointed with this experience, and I will not be returning to their office again.**Update**I increased stars because some time after original posting, the office got back in contact with me, and a higher up than the original billing dept person I spoke to had reviewed the issue and corrected the persons mistake, and apologized to me for the misunderstanding. I did not end up having to email them anything after the higher up got involved. I appreciate the effort. They should make sure everyone who works in their billing dept understands how to correct any errors like that in the future.

When I suddebly lost my insurance, Dr. Landesman offered to see me for free until I got my insurance back, and the office staff assisted me in applying for aid to cover Rx costs. Many little things that have made my experience with this clinic a good one.

Matt Singer: I cannot speak highly enough of this place, and specifically Dr. Justin Miller. He has been my GI Guy for years. He was also my stepfather's GI doc. Dr. Miller saved my stepfather's life somewhere around ten years ago, after it was found that he was bleeding internally due to a previous surgery issue. The man is compassionate and easy to talk to. Something you want when discussing issues involving your GI tract. What goes in must come out! As with any specialist, sometimes you have to wait. I've never been treated rudely by ANYONE in the office. Nor have I ever had to wait too long to be seen. GI docs are a busy bunch. It's worth the wait.

LouLou Louise: The staff was very nice and efficient. Office was clean with zero wait time.The N.P Wright was extremely kind and understanding. Was willing to spend time with me, having a conversation, explained in full how to help my symtoms.I am very happy with my experience at this office.

Alex Knopp: What’s the point of making an appointment if they won’t honor the time? Just got done working 16 hour shift and being awake over 24 hours and call when I’m on my way to their office to let them know I’m running behind just to be told when I get there that they cannot allow my appt because I was “too late”. Mind you they told me to be there by 830 and I signed in at 831. Absolute horrible receptionist with an attitude when I tried to explain the situation. Will not be returning.
