Modica Reign: I can not put into words how gratifying my experience was working with Sedgewick & Ferweda Architects. It was my first time dealing with commercial property and the first architect I spoke with left me with an enormous quote and an uneasy feeling about zoning and all the rules that go into operating a business in Flint almost steering me not to do it. Thankfully after speaking with a couple more architects I reached Brianna at Segewick and Ferweda and she broke everything down for me on our first phone call and has been there every step of the way. Their price was great, and their knowledge of Flint zoning and compliance rules, as well as their professionalism, is superb. If you have any architect needs, give them a call you won't be disappointed.

Thomas Svitkovich: I personally worked with Architect Jeffrey Ferweda to find solutions for my home renovations.Jeff and his staff proposed unique solutions for both of my projects that were both cost effective and matched the design of the house. We received appropriate help and counsel regarding the selection of contractors from Jeff. He also helped with gaining the required approval of our Home Owners Association and acquiring the necessary permits. Each project impacted the electrical system, HVAC, the plumbing/water supply and the communication systems. We received all of our plans and support on the preset timeline. Overall, working with Jeff was a pleasure. Everything worked out as planned!

Tim Clipfell: Contracted Hearth and Home (HH) to install a free-standing wood stove in October 2022. HH performed a visit to the house to confirm dimensions and scope, and we executed the contract.HH failed to install new flashing as part of their contracted scope. HH installed temporary flashing and told the inspector they would return to install the permanent fixture. That was in October 2022, and as of April 2023, the work has not been complete.HH told me after the FINAL INSPECTION that they needed to get a metal roofing contractor lined up because they don't touch metal roofs. However, this was all discussed ahead of time and during the at-home visit that this wouldn't be an issue.Now, I'm stuck with an unfinished project and HH has yet to confirm with me if the permit has been closed or not. HH has told me several times they have a metal roofing contractor who can assist with the project, but have not scheduled that work or shared their contact so that I can finish their work myself.This project was in a rural area south of Portage. It was very difficult to find a "Professional" wood stove installer. Unfortunately, I still haven't found one. Do yourself a favor and shop around extra diligently if you're looking for a new stove or fireplace. Hearth and Home is an unprofessional and unethical business and I urge you to spend your money elsewhere.Finally, if anyone has contacts for metal roofing contractors who can terminate a piece of metal stove pipe flashing, please let me know! I would love to finish this simple project before winter 2023, and I have no confidence HH will complete it's work.

Michael Johnston: Buyer beware! $125 to come to my home to LOOK at the problem. Then a second trip charge of $65/hour to come back to fix the problem. If you're lucky like I was, the technician won't be knowledgeable on fireplaces so you'll be paying, like I did, by the hour for them to learn how to repair my insert. Oh and they don't warrant their work if the part fails.So, all in, I spent over $250 to install $65 in replacement parts with no warranty. Way too much for what should have been a simple plug & play installation. Needless to say, I hope you learn from my mistake and choose someone else to do your fireplace work because Hearth & Home will overcharge you for the work and won't stand behind it when it's done!
