Compassionate Hands Birth Services L.L.C.: what do users think?
Anthony Martin: Your the best midwife ever Jill. You gave us your 100% best and we love you for it!!!! We had a beautiful birth ( our baby turned two today) and were cared for so wonderfully. We were taught so much about safe home birth and it’s definitely the way to go! Also Jill is so respectful in her care. A godly Christian woman and I totally recommend anyone to have her as a midwife! If I would have the chance I would have Jill for my midwife again! I love you Jill! Hanna martin
Amanda S: Jill and her team were fantastic with my homebirth! I can’t say enough good things. Her energy was exactly what I needed when I was in the thick of it. She went above and beyond when I had an issue during pregnancy as well. Highly recommend! 💕
Tanasia Lovett: Jill Roper and her team were phenomenal! As a first time momma who works in the medical field, I thought I would be a tough patient since I want to be informed about everything. Initially I did prenatal care with a local OB/GYN but my husband and I quickly realized that we weren't going to get the support we needed through the 5 mins spent a physician at each appointment going the "traditional route".We wanted a peaceful birth so we turned to seeking someone skilled in home birthing. Once we met Jill we felt an instant connection. She's a great listener and very knowledgeable in her profession. We appreciated that she was big on informed consent. We never had to be subject to anything we didn't want. As she would say "your birth, your way".I not only felt supported, I felt empowered! I was amazed at the education she provided and resources she connected us to. My husband also felt heard and empowered throughout my pregnancy.I had a long labor that kept stopping and starting. At one point we discussed possibly transferring care because I couldn't keep anything down and my water had broken. Jill informed us of our options and let us decide what we wanted to do. The whole time I was at peace because I felt safe with her and her teamFor this reason we decided to try one more time during the next wave of contractions. Our baby arrived safely still in his amniotic sac! How cool right?!?After the birth, the house was so peaceful. We didn't even notice that they tidy'ed up. We were thoroughly impressed with our care from day one and all through postpartum care. We definitely will use her services if we conceive again in the future.
Joey and Dan Lipsy: Compassionate Hands reviewI cannot express enough how amazing our experience has been at Compassionate Hands! From the time I first spoke with Jill, I felt welcome and she assured my husband and I that we were in good hands. Jill presented us with a handbook detailing our birthing journey at our consultation. We have had a few home births thus far and throughout my most recent pregnancy and delivery, we have seen Jill's knowledge, organization and experience each step of the way. Jill brings more of her personal touch to each interaction. She truly cares about both mother and baby in a compassionate way and her medical skills allow her to perform all the routine care necessary. Despite her going through great loss during our time working with her, she has continued to display grit and grace, and she has demonstrated the spirit of a midwife in an unprecedented way.On a personal note, this has been my fifth pregnancy, and one would think I had learned much about my body and pregnancy, but Jill took the time to educate me during our discussions together. I had always suffered with postpartum depression, but with her intentional approach and practical advice, I did not experience this after this pregnancy. Further she helped me to care for my postpartum body proactively. I would highly recommend you give Jill a call now if you are pregnant and live within a 60 mile radius of Flint, Michigan. Her skills are in high demand and she is in a league of her own.
Lindsey Maloney: We had a beautiful pregnancy and birth with Jill and compassionate hands. We always looked forward to our prenatal appointments as they were not only fun, but any questions and concerns we had were always met with respect and validation. We felt supported physically, mentally, and emotionally. My labor was tough, as I am a petite woman with a small pelvis, and my baby was 9 lbs 8 oz. It was so nice to have Jill and her support team guide me through it. I know I would have been C-sectioned at the hospital so I’m so very grateful I decided to do this with Jill and compassionate hands naturally. Although my birth was hard work, I was so proud of myself and wouldn’t have done it any other way! Thank you Compassionate Hands!
Jacob Ignacio: Written by my wife:Honest, patient, respectful, sincere, knowledgeable, empathetic and wise are some adjectives that instantly come to mind when I think of Jill Roper and everyone at Compassionate Hands Birth Services. My experience could not have been better. My husband and I felt such a peace and level of trust after the first phone call to Jill before we even officially hired her. I felt respected and truly listened to through out my whole pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. Jill and her team are outstanding and any family would be extremely blessed to be served by them.
Daniel Christine: Loved our experience with Jill and her staff. The office is more of a comfortable homey atmosphere than a sterile medical feel which I appreciate. The book Jill gives you is so informative and she's just a text away if you have any questions.Being able to birth our miracle baby at home was 100% worth it. I'm not sure we will be able to get pregnant again as this little one was a 10 year waiting miracle but if I do I am definitely calling Jill back!
Ben Foreman: This was my first time using Jill. It was also my first successful home birth. I highly recommend Jill and her team to anyone. She deserves more than a 5 star rating! I appreciated the time she took with with me, she was so encouraging when I felt discouraged. She was always just a phone call away when I needed her. I will never forget the moment after having my baby and they tucked me into bed! So much different than laying on a hospital bed. My home was better after they left than before they got here. By the end of the birth I felt like we were all family. I am truly blessed to have been able to have her welcome my baby into this world! I will definitely be using Jill again!
Diana Badini: I found Jill when pregnant in 2017. Sadly, it ended in a miscarriage but Jill came to support us through that. She gave us support, encouragement and I believe even paid for the ultrasound where we confirmed the baby had passed. While birth never goes according to plan, Jill was knowledgeable and kind throughout each of our following births. We had our first live birth with her and although it ended in a hospital transfer, she made the right decisions to protect me and the baby. We went back to her for our second baby to be delivered at home because we knew she was looking out for for the babies and mama's.She brings an atmosphere of caring, not being invasive, empowering and joy. She truly loves being a midwife and it shows. We couldn't imagine any other person with us as our boys were born!
Hannah Sanders: Jill and her team were awesome! Very respectful, explained everything, gave me options, and answered any questions I or my husband had. We had a great birth experience at home and great care after birth with our postpartum visits.
Julie Williamson: Jill is a wonderful person. She has such a calming, peaceful and respectful presence that immediately puts you at ease when she enters the room.My first birth was in a hospital. The physical and emotional trauma I endured was followed by years of post partum depression. I was given a short questionnaire and pills, then forgotten about.Jill helped us deliver our second, and what a different experience. No trauma, no depression and a postnatal recovery that was weeks faster! She will be there for you, before, during and after your birth. She is more knowledgeable about the birthing process than any OBGYN I have ever talked to. She empowers the women she serves to be what we were made to be. I can't recommend her enough.
Kallie Howell: I was a client. what's my automated response gonna be?
Hannah Harris: The care we received from Compassionate Hands was absolutely phenomenal! From our first steps into the office all the way to our very last postpartum appointment, we felt welcomed and full of peace and comfort. All of the staff radiates such joy, and their respect for their patients is unparalleled! We are so thankful for Jill and all of her help we received through our pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. She truly exceeded all of our expectations (in behavior and performance!), and as someone who had a flawless hospital birth with our first baby and homebirth with Jill for our second, we canNOT recommend her enough!
Audrey Burk: This was my second home birth, and I'm so glad I found Jill this time around! She is very knowledgeable and I loved how she shared information about so many different things during my pregnancy and then allowed me to make my own decisions.Jill is very thorough and pays great attention to detail. She will also sit and talk you through any questions and concerns you might have at any point in the process.I felt confident that Jill would know how to handle any complications that might arise in a competent way. Luckily, everything was smooth sailing and we had a beautiful birth experience.Jill is also very involved during the postpartum period, which I really wish I'd had my first time around! All around, I can't recommend Jill highly enough!
Nicole Robison: Jill is so caring and compassionate. She has treated my family with so much love and respect through our pregnancy, labor and postpartum. Jill delivered my first child and helped me achieve the beautiful water birth that I had always wanted to have. She is full of knowledge and experience and handles any situation calmly and professionally. If anyone is considering home birth but is nervous/skeptical I would 100% recommend Jill. You will be the best hands possible! I made the decision to have her care for me when I was halfway through my pregnancy and it was the best decision I made!
Jana French: Being new to the area, my husband and I were thrilled to find Jill via our chiropractor. We made the decision to transfer care from an OBGYN (to be clear, I do love my OBGYN, but his practice doesn't do home births) to Jill, very late in my pregnancy (we had a hospital delivery for our first, and did not want that experience for our second). My husband and I are both in the medical field and were impressed by Jill's professionalism, care plan and vast experience. It was very important to us that our midwife be certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and have tons of expertise--- Jill has all of that and much, much more! Jill and her team, were always punctual, prepared and thoughtful. I had a fantastic delivery and recovery! Her home visits are so helpful, especially in the early days. We like that Jill is pro home birth, but also understands when it necessary to transfer to a hospital setting. I wish I had delivered my first with Jill; it would've saved me a hellish delivery and drawn out physical recovery. As a nurse and doctor, my husband and I are both extremely comfortable with hospitals; that being said, we both were blown away with the experience and the care we received from Compassionate Hands and were thrilled to be in our own home! Jill and her team were worth the investment. (And, because I know you are curious... after I delivered, they took care of everything, you'd never know there was a baby born in our house that morning!! We didn't have to clean a thing!!)
Ty Brewer: I found jill when I was already in my third trimester. I was so excited to work with her after just the first meeting. I came from an obgyn who did not treat my pregnancy as a blessing and exciting journey. Jill helped us learn, grow, expand and get ready for our little miracle. Jill helped me feel calm and prepared for labor. I was so impressed with her patience, love and care for her clients. She and her students are amazingly helpful! The post partum care is unlike any you could get elsewhere and she really loves what she does! From my husband:I really liked the whole experience with Jill. The prenatal visits were warm and welcoming and I was included and given a role. I felt super prepared for the birth and that allowed us to fully appreciate the joy and excitement of welcoming our baby into the world. It was wonderful to be able to be at ease and comfortable in our own home and Jill and her students took wonderful care of us. This was a great birth experience!!!
Nicole Kelm: Home birth wasn't something I had known existed until shortly before I became pregnant myself. Being in the medical field, any type of nontraditional medical practices can be viewed as unsafe. After the experience my husband and I had with Jill, we can both attest that home birth was not only safe, but safer than birth in a hospital and a much more enjoyable experience.Jill's knowledge on current literature in Obstetrics and Gynecology is second to none. She is more well read than many physicians. She is constantly up to date on new publications and is always looking to implement more effective practices for her patients.Combined with her extensive knowledge, her holistic approach to pre, peri, and postnatal care provides for an excellent patient experience. Additionally, her bedside manner far surpasses any OB/GYN I have ever encountered. All care that I received under Jill was nothing short of the highest quality.I am grateful I had the experience of home birth, specifically with Jill as my midwife. I wouldn't have changed a thing.
Brittany Lawrence: Jill and her team are truly compassionate about the families they are serving. They take their time getting to know you and answer any questions they have. I learned more from them then I did from my hospital births. Even after birth the care is wonderful. During the birth they are there to help, but let you birth your way. ❤
Sara Mannschreck: Compassionate Hands Birth Services provided exceptional care for me and my baby from our first prenatal appointment through postpartum. I highly recommend Jill as a midwife, as she provides a high level of care and compassion for her clients. They walked me through new policies and procedures during this pandemic, and I was able to successfully and safely deliver my third little boy at home under their care and guidance. I could not have chosen a safer or more reassuring birthing option given the current pandemic we face.
Larissa T: Jill is such an amazing Midwife. With my first birth in 2016, I didn't have a great experience. When I found out I was expecting my second in October of 2018, I was going to go with the same OB. I knew in my heart it wasn't the right thing for myself or my baby. When I told my Chiropractor, Doctor Clift, he introduced me to Jill! I fell in love with her that day. Set up an interview the next day with my Husband. We had a lot of questions, and she answered them with so much knowledge and honesty. Something I didn't get with my first pregnancy. Throughout my whole pregnancy she was so supportive as well as her other associates. They were so loving and helpful during it all! When it got closer to my due date, I was so excited and a little nervous to go into labor because with my first experience I didn't get to go into labor on my own. My due date came and it went, Jill reassured me that everything was going to be okay! It was and I went into labor on my own, and I had an amazing experience. Now being eight months postpartum, she is still being there for me and my baby. I would highly recommend her for anyone who is looking for a Midwife around this area. You not only get an amazing midwife but you also gain a family as well. Thank you Jill for being who you are!

Hurley Midwifery - Flint: what do users think?
Gabrielle Hoag: As someone who has experienced the care of Hurley Midwifery firsthand, I can confidently say that they are an exceptional practice. The midwives are knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly invested in the well-being of their patients. They even sent me a personal card after baby was born - who does that? Such a sweet touch. One thing that set Hurley Midwifery apart is their commitment to natural childbirth. They have a deep respect for the birthing process and believe that it is a natural and beautiful experience that should be approached with care and sensitivity.Overall, I would highly recommend Hurley Midwifery to anyone seeking a caring, compassionate, and skilled provider for their prenatal and birthing care. They are truly dedicated to helping women and their families achieve a safe and satisfying birth experience, and I feel fortunate to have had them by my side during my own pregnancy and childbirth. I love them!!!
Brooke Bromfield: I can’t recommend more. I love all the midwife’s very much, but one sticks out very much for me. Lyric delivered both of my babies that were only 13 months apart. She is by far the best person I have ever met in my life. She listens so well. It makes me emotional to think I won’t see her anymore. She listened to every word and guided me. She’s more than a midwife to me. I love her very very much and I’ll be amazed if someone else doesn’t. I can’t recommend more and thank them more.
angela hatchew: I had a wonderful experience with Hurley Midwifery for my last pregnancy. They are all such sweet and caring people. I felt very comfortable talking to them; rather than a doctor/ patient relationship it was more of a friend relationship. I am very happy with my decision when I chose them. The facility is very clean and nice. They have a lab in house as well so you can do all of those tests there too.
Julia Schlusler: Hurley Midwives were FANTASTIC!! They provided attentive, personalized, and professional services throughout our 4th pregnancy. They intently listened to me and heard my concerns and wishes throughout my pregnancy. At each appointment, every midwife was personable and genuinely interested in me and my well being. They delivered our sweet baby girl and gave me guidance, but freedom to have the birth we wished for. We could not have been happier with the entire experience!! A special shoutout to Lyric who was there for our delivery, and Dani who joined our delivery! Thanks for making sure our precious baby girl was born safely and sound!
Yana Levovna: I came to the midwives with my first pregnancy at 26 weeks due to the mismanaged and dismissive care that I received at Genysis Women's Center. The difference was clear starting with my first pre-visit phone appointment where the "crusty old midwife" (her words! haha) asked me more questions in 30 minutes than I received in 26 weeks. I was throwing up 4 times a day every thing that I ate, and had raging antepartum depression which Genesis didn’t seem to care about.I had a complicated pregnancy and I was not, ahem, the most jovial of patients but they treated me well and addressed all of my issues with evidence-based care and compassion. Hyperemesis gravidum, antepartum depression, gestational diabetes, gestational hypertension, severe carpal tunnel, and pre-eclampsia- I was just collecting diagnosis at the end.Since I was high-risk, they shared me with the doctor's team at Hurley when it was time for me to deliver via c-section. However, I was still in their rotation so I didn't feel abandoned. They were really great with my husband, too, which is important because partners can get lost in the shuffle.I'm a medical profession (a naturopathic doctor) with my own clinic and I know the level of care that I give my patients-the kind I *should* have been receiving all along during my pregnancy. I'm very grateful that I found the Hurley midwives partway through my exceptionally difficult pregnancy. They exemplify outstanding prenatal care for both the mom and the baby and I would recommend them highly.
K: The Midwives are nothing short of outstanding here. They’re all so very caring & knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable with them & I felt they actually listened to me. Which, as a first time mom, was important to me.
Rachel Brumley: I delivered my second baby this weekend. The midwives knew I was a bit traumatized by my first labor experience and they did everything they could to make sure I was taken care of this time. Before I even got to the hospital I was getting calls and texts checking in on me and giving me advice. It honestly felt like family- I felt so loved and cared for. Labor was divided between Nicole, Lyric and Jennifer and I can't thank them enough. Dejai even checked in on me before I went into labor.I didn't end up having the birth that I wanted but that wasn't because we didn't try, I was in control of every decision. I was educated, empowered and supported the entire labor experience. I did end up having to have a c-section under general and I was very scared and sobbing, but Jennifer was with me and never left my side. The last thing I remember was her holding my hand and then waking me up to hold my baby. When you're adding a member to your family is a sacred and beautiful thing. During a time when family isn't allowed in the room it was great to have women who felt like family to walk through this with. I am and will forever be thankful that they were there for me during this time.
Edna Hirzel: I have had family and friends go to the midwives at Hurley for ob and gyn care. These women are very skilled and caring people. As a nurse i have so much peace of mind recommending them and know they will give excellent care.
Jana Ward: I LOVED my experience with the midwifery department! From the office staff to the midwives, I felt valued and well cared for. The office staff made scheduling a breeze and were prompt with returning my messages (which goes a long ways with a nervous new mother). The midwives were so kind, validated my concerns, and were encouraging throughout my pregnancy, during the birth, and throughout post partuum care. They called to follow up and answer any questions I had. I cannot imagine doing it without this team! I cannot recommend this amazing team enough!
Theresa Weisbrod: I have not had the privilege of having care with these women but observing them, as an aspiring midwife student, has added to my love of midwifery by watching them give personal and dedicated care to each patient they see.
Trisha S: I had the honor of delivering my two babies with the Hurley Midwives. I have continued to see them for my annual check and enjoy reconnecting. Their Rashelle Drive office is recently built and is just outside of Grand Blanc. All three of my pregnancies had a multitude of complications. My second pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage. I can’t explain how compassionate the team was towards my husband and I. In such a dark time, they were so important to us.I received exceptional care during and after all of my pregnancies. I struggled with post-partum depression and anxiety. They helped me identify, treat, and connect with additional support during my struggles. They always took the time to explain and answer my many questions. I felt their sincere and genuine care. It’s obvious that they chose this profession because they love it. If I were to have another baby, I would return to the Hurley Midwives without hesitation. I HIGHLY recommend these phenomenal ladies and am forever grateful for their kindness and care! ❤️
kaylee statler: These women truly care about you and the baby they will listen to anything big or small that may concern you! I will forever recommend these wonderful ladies. And in all honestly i had 'at home' problems they they talked me thorugh. They even work extra hours hust to make sure you are satisfied. My shout out is to the whole team but really want to give Lyric and Dajai credit for outstanding bonding with me. I love hurley midwifery!
Ella Walsh: Thankful for the care and respect I got
alisha wartluft: I am so happy I found this group. They made me feelComfortable and took the time to really listen to my concerns. Wish I had found them with my first baby.
Susan Cook: The midwives are so thoughtful and attentive to my needs. They answered questions I didn’t even know I had. I hope they see this and know how thankful I am for the individualized care. I can’t say enough good things in this review. Highly recommend!!!
Rainel Flansburg: I would not recommend this place. This was my first pregnancy and I had the worst experience, constant comments about my weight gain when I only gained 25 lbs my entire pregnancy, they never answer the phone, never back from lunch when they schedule you an appointment after their lunch. The midwife that delivered my daughter was terrible. My water broke early in the morning and she kept making me wait to come into the hospital, my water had been broke for so long I ended up getting an infection and my daughter should’ve been born via c-section and was born with a brain bleed and respiratory issues, and spent 12 days in the NICU due to this. During my labor the midwife didn’t know what she was doing and the actual OBGYN had to come in to finish my delivery. Then to top it off when I was recovering the midwife got me and another patient mixed up and told me my daughter had her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck when it was another baby. Patient care has gone right out the window. I’ll never come back, next time I’ll go to an actual OBGYN that knows what they’re doing.

Lisa Cavett, CNM (Flint): what do users think?
Tiffany Watts: I absolutely love Lisa. She always answer my questions, addresses all my concerns, and genuinely cares for her patients.
Savanna D'Aigle: I’ve switched doctors multiple times throughout my pregnancy and Lisa’s office was easily the best out of them all. Her and her staff are very friendly and they’re not judgmental about your personal life. Every single one of my questions that I’ve had were answered with haste, and they also provide you with resources if you’re struggling with anything. I ended up having a c-section so Lisa couldn’t deliver my baby - BUT she was still there every step of the way during the operation. That memory will stick with me forever and I will go back to her if I were to get pregnant again.
Kara Reinders: Lisa was my midwife 5.5 years ago. She was very knowledgeable, kind, and a great listener. She listened to my concerns and needs and let me have input on interventions. My son came into the world very fast and I am so glad I had her guide me to success.
Alexa Harvey: Lisa is an amazing midwife! She spent a great deal of time with me at my first appointment, always explained procedures, answered questions, made me comfortable, etc. I had her for my first pregnancy and will definitely be back for regular women’s health and future pregnancies. I have also recommended some friends to her.
Casey Phillips: Throughout my pregnancy I saw midwife Jessica Braman who I loved and felt so comfortable with! When I went into labor midwife Lisa Cavett was on call. I was so worried about having someone other than my original midwife, however as soon as she came into my room I knew I was in the best hands! She was so calm, caring and helpful. She coached me through all of the labor and kept such a positive attitude in my room which was exactly what I wanted. I will 10/10 always recommend either of these two midwives! Best of the best ♥️
Hannah DeLaVergne: Lisa was amazing. I used her midwife services for both of my pregnancies. During labor she was positive, straight forward and so helpful. She’s someone you wanna have on your team when you are giving birth.
Mykayla Eisner: When she was finishing school she delivered my son and she delivered my daughter and I couldn’t imagine anyone else. Very knowledgeable and opened minded. After my first pregnancy I switched late in my pregnancy a month and a half before delivery to a midwife and had many ultrasounds with my ob so with Lisa it was she calmed every nerve I had especially since my sons pregnancy I was going weekly for it seemed 2 or 3 months of ultrasounds to make sure my cervix didn’t open due to an old leap I had and with Lisa if she felt she needed a second opinion she had Obgyns available to her. If and when another comes around she will be who I see. Best part is you can continue to see her Pre and post pregnancy also.
Melanee Cook: The best doctor I’ve ever had! I was terrified when I found out I was pregnant last April, but Lisa and Katey, Lisa’s nurse, helped calm all my nerves and anxiety and I couldn’t have asked for a better team! Lisa also delivered my baby in December and I wouldn’t have it any other way! She talked me through every step from the day I found out until the very end! Lisa and Katey go above and beyond for their patients and they’re always very sweet and supportive! I highly recommend Lisa if you’re looking for a midwife or OBGYN in general! I absolutely love them both and wouldn’t dream of anyone else to deliver any other children I have in the future!
Tori Laporte: I have never felt so comfortable and so heard with a doctor. She always answered all of my questions and my concerns. She delivered my first baby, and as nervous as I was, she helped keep me calm and was there to support me through the whole thing. I’m glad to have a midwife as amazing as Lisa.
Joshua Walker: I have loved all of my care I have received with Lisa! All McLaren L&D staff has been phenomenal! I’ve had all 5 of my baby’s there! Thanks for being amazing! ❤️~ Jessica walker
Joshua Wilson: Absolutely terrible. Had an appointment scheduled at 8 it’s now 8:30 I drove to the appointment and back because the whole time on the way there I was trying to get ahold of someone there but not a single person could answer but yet someone could call us back and leave a voicemail saying the doctor is sick. I still haven’t been able to talk to anyone or get ahold of anyone here, would not recommend this place
Paige Vincent: Really makes you feel comfortable, and very knowledgeable. Love her!
Elizabeth Carter: Lisa is an amazing midwife. She and Katie, her wonderful nurse, cared for my children and I during my pregnancies and delivered both of my children. Lisa and Katie were both there for me through everything and so kind, helpful, and observant through both of my pregnancies and the following months. I would recommend Lisa and Katie to any women expecting new little ones soon or that wants one in the near future.
Mary BakerRay: I have seen Lisa Cavett for all of my Women’s health needs for the past several years. I have never felt more comfortable with a provider as she makes visits quick and painless. It’s also so reassuring and comforting to know that I will leave her office with no questions unanswered. It’s also nice to call the office and know that I can always rely on someone contacting me back in a timely fashion regarding my need(s). Lisa is very friendly and personable, when I go in for my visits I feel like I’m going to visit my friend. I wish I had known Lisa and Midwifery care with the delivery of my Son. I have several friends who have delivered with Lisa and have nothing but exceptional experiences.
Brooke Ervin: I am so glad I found Lisa to be my midwife! After researching multiple midwives in the area she received the highest ratings and recommendations from other moms. When I first met her, I was blown away at how much time she spent with me, going over my questions, providing information about pregnancy and putting me at ease. Throughout my pregnancy, Lisa always made herself available for my questions when I called the office (even if it was probably just me over reacting to something small). If it was after hours she would always get back to me. When I delivered my baby (my first) I was a huge ball of emotions and Lisa walked me through the delivery step by step. I truly cannot thank this woman enough for what she did for me and my family. Going forward I have also switched and will see her for all of my Women’s health needs. If you are looking for someone who is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough then make an appointment to see Lisa!

Hurley OB/GYN Clinic: what do users think?
Katie C: Love the hospitality of the medical staff drs nurses and aides, I even loved the ganators everyone was so nice at made it feel like I was at a hotel rather than a hospital definitely will go again for pregnancy
Holly Elizabeth: Don't know why I chose this clinic again but the office staff are rude. Including my last pregnancy a few of the doctors were extremely rude and condicending. The office just gave me an appointment for 13 weeks pregnant for my first visit. That is unhealthy to wait that long. I love hurley, but this is unacceptable
Haddie Dudek: I have had nothing but an excellent experience so far during my pregnancy. Tiffany has been always kind and helpful. Also Tammy who has done two out of the three of my sonograms has been GREAT. Explains everything well, makes me feel comfortable and is VERY kind. Please recognize these two for doing their jobs well.
Alayna Renee: Tiffany was the first person I spoke to when I got referred to Hurley for my high risk pregnancy. I had no idea what I was doing or where to go. This was my first child and I was so nervous knowing I was being transferred to high risk. Tiffany was so kind and went out of her way to help me and explain things. She was so patient with me even though she was always busy with other patients. She made my visits much easier and comforting. She always greeted me with a smile. I wish more places had people working up front like Tiffany! Thanks again Tiffany I appreciate your kindness you’ve shown me!
Lindsey Zacek: I've been trying to call throughout the day to make an appointment for birth control and tubal litigation and every single time I call it doesn't even ring and then just hangs up, I see alot of other patients are having a tough time getting through on the phone as well..It doesn't make any sense why the phones wouldn't be working, so that being said I'll be looking for somewhere else to go
Chantell Freeman: Hurly has gone above and beyond throughout my pregnancy. I would highly recommend
Danielle Klatt: They literally never call back. You get on the phone with them and they leave you on hold for over and hour. It’s ridiculous. How is anyone supposed to be seen when they can’t even get ahold of anyone to make an appointment.
Holly Allen: Screenshots of my hold time today trying to get an appointment to get on birth control. No one answered the second hold time after I explained I was calling back because I was on hold over 20 minutes...they said don't hang up...we may be with another patient. So I didn't hang up as you can see...didn't make a difference. My birth last year was very traumatic...they saved my baby but...horrible horrible treatment to mothers perinatal and postpartum anxiety. Almost cost us both our lives by delaying my diagnosis of preeclampsia...saying it was just anxiety.Being on hold with them literally triggered me back to how they treated me during my pregnancy and I just started crying. But I didn't hang up because unfortunately no other office has the capability to do telemedicine and I have a verified disability of agoraphobia.I used to think they were just discriminating against my disability until I came here and read other reviews.I'd say great for babies, terrible for moms but...if the baby doesn't even have a healthy mom because of poor medical treatment or mom dies how is that great for baby? It's not.Update: added one star...as they got back with me asap and got me an appointment after I made this review. There was a mix up of the time...but I still had my appointment so...that's better I suppose.
Brianna Jones: They need to be more organized, when Id try calling they never answer the phone ,and I'm pregnant with twins so I have to be seen every month . The nurses and some doctors are nice but front desk folks are rude
Emilee Daggett: Went to ER Thursday 11/9/2021 doctor told me I must go there when they open due to me maybe having a molar pregnancy called all day Tuesday and wednesday a nurse Dannett called and told me to make a appointment and docs told me I must go there right when they open shew also said I can make a appointment on her chart and that’s also not possiable I need to be seen tomorrow do you have have to have be seen Please get back me ASAP Emilee daggett 09/30/1992 please the doctors didn’t explain anything clearly to me
Jess Moran: My Dr. Is great, but I've been trying for 10 days to make a 6 week check up and can't get through. It puts me on hold and I sit there for hours before I hang up. Messaged a nurse last week and was told someone would call me to schedule and never did.
Laina wilson: This place is a joke. I’ve been on hold for over an hour trying to get my test results back when they were suppose to call me with the results weeks ago & NEVER did. This is ridiculous. The doctors are also pushy with decisions.
Beverly Matheson: I’ve been on the phone for 70+ minutes waiting to cancel my appointment.
Tanesha Torrence (#MakeupbyTanesha): I’ve been on hold to Schedule an appointment since 9:08am. The time is currently 10:35am… I’m still on hold. This is an huge inconvenience of time. Make me worry how difficult will an actual appointment be in office!
A L: Had an appointment they cancelled it I had reschedule me for a month later at high risk clinicThe following day I misscarried. This place is a joke frfr
Courtani Hardwick: Been trying to make a appointment for two days and I need the appointment soon and have been on hold saying everyone is busy for two days.
Stephanie Mullen: I have to say first and foremost if you have to see an Obgyn go see Marwa Eltawil!!!!! I have the absolute best time when I go. Not only professional but actually listens and understands you, your wants, needs, questions, and concerns!!!! Very personable!! Has an amazing sense of humor. Just an all around wonderful person! Would recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing Obgyn.
Brittany Naumiec: Hurley's NICU and labor and delivery staff are beyond AMAZING. Had my daughter at 28 weeks and they took great care of the both of us. The OB clinic on the other hand is very different. The 2 other appointments I have had, I have got called back way past my scheduled time (30min or so). Trying to schedule and annual checkup right now, I've been on hold to make an appointment for 38 minutes now! No option for call back, way too long for someone to wait on hold just to schedule and appointment.
Hollie Schmitz: If I could give less than 1 star I would. I set an appointment to get a consult for tubal ligation and hormonal issues a month in advance. Went in to my appointment, and they had set me up for a prenatal visit... why would you do that if I'm saying I want surgery to get my tubes tied? Then, I had to set a new appointment and wait another month. Then, they called and said it has to be a phone appointment... how can you check my hormone levels and make sure I can safely get a surgery done over the phone? I called a different place that can get me in 2 days sooner and will see me in person. They also have 5 stars instead of less than 2. This place is just a mess.
Angela Davis: If your asking to put someone on hold you wait until they say yes it’s okay instead I got is it okay if I put you on hold you have one person ahead of you and before I could even say yes I was on hold. And then trying to make an appointment was even worse because I got transferred to another line and didn’t even get to make my appt. definitely going to be finding a new place to go too.
Jessica Kudlick: I have been on hold since 11AM. It is now 2PM. This place is a joke.. I'm just trying to schedule an appointment man. The same thing happened with my first, they lost my records, made me do tests I didnt even need to do. I have never had an issue like this with any other doctors office..

Sirona Health & Wellness: what do users think?
Caitlin Esper: I chose the birth house after touring it in April of 2016, at the time I was 4 months along. I always pictured myself having a home birth, but with this being our first, my husband was very uncomfortable. The birth house is a 13 minute drive from Hurley, so if we needed to be transported for any reason it could be done quickly. Our home happens to be in the middle of no where, so the birth house was a perfect compromise. My midwife, Goldie Parker, was absolutely incredible throughout the last 5 months of my pregnancy! She was attentive, answered all of my questions at check ups, and just has this instinct for pregnancy and birth that blows me away. My husband and I took Hypnobirthing classes through the birth house and I took a lactation course with Mandy Dixon (she's great)! My Doula, Sara Shreve (also the Owner) was 110% marvellous during my labor! I would NEVER recommend any woman laboring, no matter where they are, without a Doula! And of course the midwife and her wonderful assistant Stephanie Winford (she was by my side the whole time) were present during my labor and at the birth of our daughter- on Saturday September 17th 2016. I know that home births and birth houses are not for everyone, but I must say that I have no regrets! They had a birth pool, a huge comfortable bed (which mom, dad and baby all fit in for skin to skin), a birthing rocking chair, birth ball, a place where you can walk outside...its just made to make a laboring mom comfortable...i think that is so important to avoid interventions. I'm convinced that because of my birth team and the birth house I didn't rip or tear (at all), my water broke on its own, and we have a healthy Baby! I also had placenta encapsulation done through their facilities & would recommend it! We chose to do cord burning instead of cutting/clamping...The experience isn't offered everywhere so having the opportunity was really unique and beautiful! All and all, we are healing quicker than most people I know who've had a hospital birth. Our new little family was in the comfort of our own home with in 7 hours after the birth of our baby. We are lucky to have a birth house in the area as a resource and for any healthy Mom who'd like to avoid a hospital during such an intimate and transcendental experience!

Hurley Midwifery - Lapeer: what do users think?
Lacie Taylor: I love lapeer midwifery, they are so good with us, very kind, they take the time and talk to you about what you want and not only that they actually care and you can tell, they’ve been so good to me for my second pregnancy, since I switched I’ve learned more about my pregnancy that genesis never told me nor even brought up to me. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else, Natalie is so sweet and very caring, like all the midwifes . Natalie was my first in office visit and she helped me with so many thing that’s day , this place is the best place to go through for pregnancy
Nathalee Harris: I have used this practice for all three of my pregnancies. I have been with this practice since the beginning and have seen it flourish. I would not go anywhere else and I recommend this practice to all my friends and family that are expecting or just need normal GYN care. All of the midwives are extremely compassionate about their profession, but mostly important you as the patient. They do their best to meet all of your demands as long as it does not jeopardize you or your babies safety. The typical stereotype of a midwife not allowing medications for pain management is not true with this group. They support you in how you want to manage your pain. I felt no shame or judgement in asking for my epidurals. I am very thankful for the support I was given at “go time” in the delivery room...especially with my last as there was no time for an epidural. I have had Lyric, Nicole and Jennifer in my corner when it mattered most. They are only three of the awesome ladies that make up this incredible team.I was thankful to have low risk pregnancies and deliveries, but if the need arose, they have an excellent physician team to collaborate with. Again, their main focus is you as the patient and keeping you safe and happy.
Maria Langan: My first visit was amazing. Thank you Carrie! Looking forward to this experience with my 2nd child.
Kristina Sutherby: I have had nothing but amazing experiences with the midwife and other staff members of Hurley Midwifery. I cannot recommend them more!
Delani Woods: I absolutely loved my experience with my first child in 2017 going through Mid Michigan Midwifery. They were always on top of things, and I didn't have any issues throughout switching to their practice all the way through post partum. I wish I could say the same about this experience. The practice has substantially grown in the past few years, but they still have the same amount of office staff. Although the three ladies do their best to keep up, they really need more help. I have to constantly follow up, make sure my appointments are set correctly, and when I'm told I'll receive a call back, I don't. All of the midwives are amazing, and are on the same page for the most part. I switched from a practice in Saginaw to MMM with my first because I didnt want to feel like just another numbered patient. Unfortunately, this is what the practice is turning into because management will not allow more staff on board to keep up with the growth. A few midwives to mention, however, that continue to give the best care possible that I HIGHLY recommend are Nicole, Jennifer, and Lyric. They all go above and beyond to give you the care and comfort that I originally signed up for.
Jacklynn & Steive Amore: Love them they deliver my baby girl.
Crystal Siniarski: The ladies at Mid Michigan Midwifery took care of me like family. I've never received more personal care from medical professionals. I'm so happy I chose them for my last baby. I'm only sorry I didn't find them sooner. Those ladies, especially Nicole and Lyric will always hold a special place in my heart.
Kerrie Cragg: My experience with Gretchen & Lyric among the others was so wonderful and so appreciated. Lyric delivered my precious baby girl and was there for me through some troubling times as well as Gretchen. I'm so thankful to have went the midwife route with my last!
danielle T: Every single doc I've seen has been excellent! All Very understanding and personable and actually talk to you as if you're a friend!
