Great Lakes National Cemetery: what do users think?
Carlos Mason: They did an amazing job honoring my dad!
Tracy Muckle: My experience was great my dad paid for a plot at another cemetery found out someone was buried in his spot him being a veteran that made the process easy for him to be buried there
Jacob Hensel: Beautiful grounds and facilities, very abbreviated service for a large gathering, no opportunity for personal statements, staff on site but no parking directions or crowd control. Spouse of the deceased even struggled to find parking and location for service. About thirty minutes into service told that needed to hurry for next group. Service felt unemphatic and rushed by staff.
Terry Westbrook-Lienert: Beautiful grounds. Both of my brothers are buried here.
John Myers: Such a beautiful cemetery
Linda Merritt: Beautifully kept grounds. I love comingg here to visit m y loved ones. The honors ceremony was an amazing tribute to my dad as well. Thank you. I wish the restrooms were kept a little better, though. THey are usually in rough shape every time I visit. One time an employee walked in, didn't look around at the restroom (which was kind of gross at the time) and initialed the "clean restroom report" (without actually cleaning it.) But other than restrooms, I love this place!
C Lynn: We buried our father on 12/29/22. The service was excellent, my father would be very proud. The grounds are beautiful & very well maintained. I really appreciate the way our veterans are being honored!
Patricia Miller: I don't have a review because I have never been there, however, when I lived in ohio I was in my late twentys bought a bracelet it was a donation for the pow's and and now I am 74 and still have the bracelet the name was Maj. Donald Odell taken 10/17/67 I found him on facebook and he as buried at your cemetery I was just wondering if by chance that he still would have any family members or if the national cemetery would like to display this.
Kimberly Rager: Beautiful and peaceful. Best in Michigan. I am in awe and so proud of our veterans ❤️
Stu V: The veterans cemetery is a special place for service persons and their spouses to be interned. The cemetery is well maintained and beautifully landscaped.
Detroit Police Department: Was told there was Zombies. Saw none.
Alton Craft: Beautiful place to be buried in
Big Max: Very peaceful and nice.
Tom Atkinson: I buried my wife of 47 years last week, 8/24/22, and was impressed with the grounds and especially the staff. I was told I could come back to the grave site at 4pm that day and visit. The site was completely finished with sod already laid and a temporary marker in place. Very impressed.
BcOneSeven: Beautiful tribute to Our Nation’s Fallen.
Mezion: Such a beautiful cemetery! The upkeep here is phenomenal! I know my loved ones that are buried here are very happy with what a beautiful cemetery this is. Very professional employees.
Guy Moorhead: Very Nice Cemetery, Very Professional Personnel.
B Lindner: Recently discovered a relative here. Beautiful place. Kiosk to easily find locations. Impressive.
Cheri Williams: My father, a WW II navy veteran, was interned in a columbarium wall at the Great Lakes National Cemetery. The attention to detail by all staff was comforting. I especially wish to thank our committal service escort/attendant, Micheal for his acts of kindness. For example, it had rained earlier in the day and Micheal used his pants leg to dry the bench for my elderly mother. This act of care and concern was uplifting and commendable.
Kenn Ferguson: It was more beautiful than I expected. And the pavilion #1 overlooking the lake was extremely beautiful.
Nardo: Beautiful well kept place worthy of those that have seemed our country.

Aventine Cemetery: what do users think?
Angela Brown: Aventine Cemetery off Chavez is connected to Avendale Cemetery. Aventine Cemetery is owned by the City of Flint and Avondale is owned by Covenant Cemetery Services. Aventine is the historical place for Camp Thomson, a training facility named after Colonel Thomson and several Civil War Veterans are buried in this cemetery. The Brothers of Governor Crapo Camp No. 145 adopted this cemetery as a camp project and do regular ground maintenance where you can volunteer to help assist with their maintenance efforts. This group also has a Memorial Service every year. Aventine Cemetery is better maintained than Avendale and it has an opportunity to become really beautiful if more funds were spent or donated for cemetery restoration and preservation.

Glenwood Cemetery: what do users think?
Angela Brown: We visited Glenwood Cemetery today as we were on a biking history tour. This cemetery is full of rich history and many of the well known and famous people of Flint, Michigan such as, C.S. Mott, Fenton, Bridgman, Hemphill and even Harry Potter are buried here. Well, not the Harry Potter from the movies. There are various types of headstones , different architecture styles and cemetery structures such as Egyptian, Greek and Gothic if you know what to look for as well as, white bronze headstones. Make sure to visit the headstone, monument and tribute to the Michigan School of the Deaf. There is also an eagle’s nest located in the trees, but I won’t say where to protect the nest. The cemetery is paved and is pleasant to walk through although the terrain is a bit hilly. This cemetery is well worth exploring.
Never A Dull Moment: Beautiful & full of culture & nature at its best to soak in. Went to wander & enjoyed.
jkagen69: Very historical place to visit when you are in the town of Flint Michigan. Thinking of buying a plot.
Amy Reese: This beautiful place seems to encapsulate time. It is a very peaceful place loved by many people including myself.
Karl VanHorn: Very well maintained cemetery for how old the plots are and the history of flint that buried within its property lines. If you love old cemeteries this is a must stop for your list. A+++ for the care but need a few to stones fixed and stood back upright and wouldn’t be hard to do with the right equipment
Penny Thomas: Bueaty, history, family crests, Monuments surrounded by peace.
Shann Birnbaum: Nice Cemetery. Love walking through and looking for ancestors.
ken senopole: beautiful...
Lorelei DuBois: One of my favorite places in Flint. The people that created Flint are interred here, even the man that built my home! It's quiet, serene and green, except of course in Autumn. Then it's spectacular! EDIT HERE: Apparently I am mistaken about the "Founders of Flint" being interred here. The markers are apparently cenotaphs of Jacob Smith, and his local progeny and In-Laws. The folk that ARE THERE are the industrialists, business owners and bankers (Mott, and some of his progeny is the star here) unless they are just memorialized here and buried elsewhere, of which of course I have no personal proof, as I was not the undertaker, nor the sextant of any of those burials/interments.
Ryon Graves: The most historic and beautiful cemetery we have in the area. Although it's not the oldest, and the area's founders are NOT Interred here. The founders are buried in Avondale Cemetery on Chavez. There is actually a Founders Row of tombstones. People are destroying and defacing our cemeteries and we need to stop it. A lot of Masonic graves, and deep rooted symbolism all over this cemetery.
Joel Kubicki, Jr.: Nice and quiet cemetery. Plenty of history and well-kept.
Michael Donegan: I've never reviewed a cemetery before but we love to walk and bike through here frequently because it is beautiful and peaceful, especially in the Autumn. So serene. Some very old graves here so it's a nice spot to reflect on history.

Flint Memorial Park: what do users think?
Paula Rowe: I’m updating my review after speaking with Jason Pelton. Not quite a 5 star review as there is still room for improvement. Thank you Jason for following up and getting my mom’s marker raised and vase replaced for Mother’s Day💕please see the new picture posted today. Jason is very compassionate and understanding. Thank you!II was told today the cemetery is under new management. My mother’s marker needs to be raised and the vase replaced. I’ve contacted the cemetery by phone and visited the office twice.
Amy yost: Mike B was very polite and made sure everything was in order and takin care of. Thank you so much for helping us in our time of need. Definitely made it easier on us. I would recommend him to anyone.
Neeka Sagley: Michael Bexton he is a good person he help with are grandma service and was a very good preacher for the service than u so much it means a lot
Michael Bexton: Our family had a great experience with Mike B and we appreciate all he has done for us and is very Caring and to make sure my mom was ok with everything Proffer Family
Tonia Maitland: Don't leave anything nice on your loved ones grave because it will get stolen. This has happened so many times its sickening. I've put 2 beautiful gazing balls each spring/ summer and both were stolen. Anything we leave there, gets stolen. Wish we would have buried my baby brother somewhere else 😪 someplace with security and who cares about what goes on.
NOTW: 4-8-2023 drove to see my loved one's grave today and was utterly disgusted at the headstones sinking into the ground not sitting level not to mention the HUGE potholes in the roads yet MANY fresh graves. Raking in the money $$$$$$$$$ yet ZERO respect for the dead or the loved one's still alive. Was truly sad to see how horrible the conditions have become where my loved ones are laid to rest :( . Where are the markers now ? Very sad ordeal , very sad
S M: BAD business! We went to the Flint Memorial Park to the garden of prayer, Row Q, crypt 4 to verify the grave site where my mom would be buried to find her whole vase was out of the head stone. We looked up and down the rows for the missing vase, everywhere, but couldn't find it anywhere. Where did it go? No one had been buried yet or ever used it. Why would we before she died? So Flint Memorial Park decided they would not replace it, saying it is rules and regulations. Instead, they said you have to pay to replace it- $430 for a cheaper plastic vase or $740.99 for the bronze vase that was originally purchased that no one saw or ever used. So in the end, it is like getting a burger, but you open the wrapper and notice the hamburger patty is missing. So, you explain the situation, and then they say okay it will be $3 for the patty. This is ridiculous! So on top of all the emotional strain of my mom's sudden death, we have to deal with this stress and grief. Like my mom's grandson says, thumbs down!
Shirley Jarrett: It really saddens me to say that I have been trying to contact management since July 2022 because I sons headmarker was spelled INCORRECTLY. I have tried numerous times to get a call back, I leave my name, phone number, marker position, and reason for my call but still no answer. Granted my son died in October 2020, paid off in April 2021 and the marker was installed but spelling was incorrect. It takes 6-8 weeks give it take for correction in this matter. Please don’t say because of the pandemic, please don’t leave an message because you will get no response. My entire family is buried at this facility, my mom even bought 2 extra plots for my brother and myself. I asked her to stop payment and look elsewhere because customer serve here IS RIDICULOUSLY SLOW AND UNPROFESSIONAL. The anniversary of my sons passing is this month, October and we set up a gathering for family and friends to visit but that won’t happen because it’s embarrassing that his marker is spelled incorrectly. I WILL NEVER EVER USE OR SUGGEST ANYONE TO USE Flint Memorial EVER. Please do not reply back with the same messages that are in the previous review. I need a phone call and an end date as to when the correction, in which your facility messed up, will be rectified. It’s been almost 4 months and still NORESOLUTION. I visited the gravesiteyesterday rand NOthing has CHANGEd. Ijust wanna know when the resolution willtake place? I was also told it would beexpedited of course it hasn’t .By the way please don’t tell me it’s Fall/Winter and it’s too late because the ground is too hard to place marker.
Brittney Davis: I can think of so many negative words to describe my experience with Flint Memorial, but I will leave it at frustrated and disappointed. My mother passed away in November of 2021, buried in December. We are coming up to the year anniversary and not a single person at the office can tell us where her headstone is. We paid THOUSANDS of dollars for her to be buried there and have completely received the run around. We’ve heard the Covid excuse, the marble and designs we ordered had to come from another country, they have no contact with the delivery company.. etc.The communication is so poor and I couldn’t be more disappointed in what should have been a smooth and easy process while we deal with our grief.
JACKIE Ruiz: Thank you Jason for your professionalism and timeliness in getting out my sister/daughter and brother/ sons shepard hook so we could see it while i was in town. Jackie & Joan
Corey Daup: Beware!!!! This place is a FRAUD!!!! They take people’s money and tell them that they dont get anything 9 months after it was paid. I didn’t cost this place a penny, pre paid over $900 on a vault and opening and closing of said vault. Had a balance of $600 roughly, they send me a letter, after zero communication, stating they closed my account, are selling my vault, and refuse to give me a refund!! Bad business practices and even ruder people!!!Edit: To the owner who replied. I tried contacting you people, I was met with rudeness and zero compassion, they claim to provide the “best customer service” and they “care about their customers/visitors”, which is not true. I no longer want to do any business with your company, and request a COMPLETE AND FULL REFUND!!! There is nothing to discuss beyond this. You already sent me this letter, stating where your company stands, so I will pursue how I need to.
Todd Piggott: Writing this on behalf of my fiance and her family. Her grandfather passed away almost a year ago. Staff at Flint Memorial told them certain things would be done prior to family arriving for the burial, this was not the case. This caused her family more stress and grief during a very sensitive time. Now a year later Flint Memorial still hasn't engraved the head stone with her Grandfathers name and dates. Over the past year the family has called and even went up there several times talking to several staff members and keep getting the same excuses and no results.
Don Weismiller: My mother passed back in March and still the headstone still not put in place at grave after six month emailed Jason twice did not respond and the issue was not resolve Carolyn was a great help she put a work order in to be put at top of work order and it still wasn't done Don't recommend this cemetery until they start caring about there clients and the deceased
Kim Bowen: DO NOT ORDER A SHEPHERDS HOOK!! I ordered a shepherds hook on payments and after paying off last statement I have never got a shepherds hook and it has been almost a year now! But I have got a huge run around! UPDATE AFTER MY REVIEW I GOT A CALL FROM SOMEONE WHO SAID THEY WAS PUTTING IN MY ORDER FOR MY HOOK AND AFTER A FEW MONTHS IT CAME. I CHANGED MY STAR RATING BUT ONLY TO 3STARS BECAUSE FIGHTING TO GET PRODUCTS PEOPLE PAID FOR SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM. HOPEFULLY FLINT MEMORIAL PARK WILL WORK ON THAT.
Brian Grubb: I wanted to give a huge thank you to Jason and his staff. They are awesome to work with and shown such care and compassion not only towards us but also our lost loved ones. Since the pandemic I know things have been really hard, but they have definitely proven to me and my family that they’re working hard to get things back to the way they were before. I highly recommend them.Thank you so much 🙏SincerelyBrian & Judy
Joseph Donajkowski: Unfortunately after multiple complaints ti the main office, there hasn't been anything done to correct this. This is extremely sad, I really hope they can do something soon.I miss the comfort I used to feel coming to see my dza dza. It's gotta be poor work ethic from the lawn company causing the damages.
Beckie Skinner: Our son and grandparents are buried at FlintMemorial. We wanted to have our sons plaque lifted up and resurfaced to look like new. We had an appt. with Jason and he was very professional and listened to what our goal was. He suggested a granite block instead of cement so it wouldn't sink so fast in the future. He was never pushy but always courteous of our needs. We think Flint Memorial is a beautiful, well kept park for our loved ones to rest in peace.
Shirley Coulter: I purchased a shepherds hook for my husband a year ago and it's still instilled. There no excuse why it hasn't been done they have had it month now. No happy at all
C ETHERLY: Flint Memorial Park is extremely unprofessional and unorganized. My mother purchased a plot at FMP over 20 years ago under the impression that her burial would be not be a stressful event for the family. Working with Flint Memorial Park has been the most STRESSFUL event since my mother's transition. In October 2021, the time of planning, I was told by Thelma that my mother's headstone was located on the cemetery grounds in the garage. Additionally, my family was told that the headstone would be placed down by May 2022 at the latest. Fast forward, Sunday, May 09, 2022, my family and I visited my mother's gravesite and the headstone had not been placed down. I spoke with Thelma the same day and she promised yet again that the headstone would be down by July 2022. Fast forward, August 07, 2022, my family and I visited the gravesite and still, no headstone. Ironically, nearby headstones that indicated a transition date 5 months after have been placed down without reservations, but, mother's headstone is still pending. Phone calls are dodged and timelines are not kept. THIS IS AN INSULT TO THE DECEASED AND THE FAMILY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND FLINT MEMORIAL PARK.
Samantha O'Reilly: Laurie has been the best and the most amazing to work with. My uncle passed away in December and we had his 2nd rights in May. My Grandmother had to make all of the arrangements at 88 years old and Laurie has always been so understanding and helpful with everything! We are very grateful to her! Also, when his marker arrived we went out and it was crooked, we let Laurie know and that day she had the worker named Guy fix it right away. He made it just how my Grandmother wanted it and moved it into the spot she wanted which made her very happy! Hoping with new management things stay this way!
Don Cox II: Always clean, quiet atmosphere. VERY peaceful place.
