Waivers and appointments and just waiting in general was just gut wrenching, but the recruiters there definitely helped and went out of there way to make it possible for me. I can’t thank them enough for changing my life. I’ve been happier and living life like I never did at home. The Army has become my home and the friends you make are lifelong. I’ve traveled to more states in the Army than I did in the past living at home. I’ve completed basic, AIT and Airborne school in the last 8 months. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Thanks to joining and being out on my own, I got my first car (in cash - no loan/interest), and got out of my toxic household. If you’re thinking about joining, do it, whatever your story is - it is life changing but you grow and learn to who you never knew you could be. The potential and confidence you get when you put on the uniform knowing you’re the future and serving your country is a good feeling.
