Jodi: The museum was great, definitely targeted kids age 0-8. With the exception of the mom that thought breastfeeding her infant in every room was a great idea. There's even a place to do that there and she felt it necessary to expose herself in front of all those kids. Mary Fisher: Prefer the original Sloan Museum for Flint history. Somehow they've lost about 2/3 of the original artifacts and cars. The historical area seems barren/cold/sterile with minimal historical objects and mostly signs briefly describing each era. Niki Strickland: The new Sloan Museum of Discovery is AMAZING! My 4 year old loves it there. She'd happily spend hours there multiple times a week. She has! Hagerman Street is a pretend play dream for little kids. The water room is super cool. Waterproof apron recommended. All the old cars you know are still there. They expanded the history of Flint section and it is so informative. The exhibit about the deadly tornado in Flint taught my kiddo about tornados. She's been interested in tornados ever since. There is something for kids of all ages, even infants.

Flint Institute of Arts: what do users think?
Jordan G: Ok
Kelly S: It's been a few minutes since our last visit to FIA. Wonderful art collection & the special displays were amazing! The glass exhibit was super cool & luckily the delicate glass is behind glass! The Renaissance & Baroque room was off the charts. The Security Guard, super nice, explained that the collection of tapestry was the largest known collection consisting of 10 tapestries. Stunning. Loved that most of the art had audio stories that you can access on your phone AND also access via FIA's web site! The little cafe was very busy during lunch, so the food must be good.I absolutely enjoyed the visit!

Niki Strickland: Love love love. FIA was a lifesaver during the pandemic. It was one of the few places open and appropriate for children that wasn't busy during the weekdays. We often took our then 3 year old to explore the exhibits. The glassblowing demonstrations on weekends are awesome. Now the outdoor sculpture garden is open too!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More
Wanda Atkinson: Fabulous art museum showcasing a rotating collection of native American and world indigenous art, glass and ceramic sculpture and paintings ranging from traditional to contemporary. Plus to top off your visit, the small cafe is excellent! Highly recommend.Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $6–10 …More
Adam Pastorek: The glass art was really amazing. The planetarium was really cool too.
Rosemarie Ison-Edgington: We came to see the Fantasy art exhibit in 01/2023. It was extremely worth it. We didn't have time to see much of the regular installations, so we will be going back soon!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry $11–15 …More

David Andrews: We visited the FIA today and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful works of art from sculptures to paintings, and the most beautiful huge tapestries from long ago that are just stunning. We were very fortunate to meet James, a museum staff member that explained the history of the tapestries, and even a secret hidden in a painting ! Dont miss this gem of a museum, and ask for James!
Elizabeth Seavey: The entire cultural center is beautiful! So much to see and do! If you're a Genesee County resident, the Sloan is free. On Saturdays, the FIA is free thanks to Huntington Bank. No need to travel afar to see famous works from famous artists, or see glass fired and blown. The Flint Public Library is newly renovated and gorgeous. Treat yourself and go enjoy everything the cultural center has to offer!
Wei Wang: We went to see the “Enchanted: A History of Fantasy Illustration” exhibit, which was great and fun for the whole family. We didn’t know that they had an ongoing glass blowing presentation by the UM-Flint students, so we were all delighted to sit through their expressive performance. Had a wonderful afternoon. Will come back again.
Alpaca: I went here for the first time this past weekend and had a great time. It's laid out in a very engaging and beautiful way, it was fun to explore. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we checked out the enchroma glasses for my colorblind date no problem. Even the security guards were nice, assuring us we could go in certain areas and showing us supplemental material. There was so much to see I'll have to come back
Curtis M. Todd: Very enjoyable half day. Lunch there was a tasty reuben and salad.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More

Lee G: I had a splendid visit to the fantasy art exhibit, as well as browsing some Meso-American art and contemporary sculpture. I also got to meet some pottery and ceramics instructors and students. Very positive atmosphere and experience.

Stockton Center at Spring Grove: what do users think?
_ Angie: This is a beautiful place, with very relevant history for Flint's beginnings of our library and hospitals. It is unfortunately, poorly advertised, with VERY limited hours of operation. I am a graduated UofM Flint, with my undergraduate degree in History, andvhad never heard about it. Perhaps they could work with UofM and Mott's history departments to advertise better, and get student volunteers to allow more opportunities for visits beyond every third Saturday, from 1-4. I see that about half of the limited reviews mention being unable to go inside because it was not open.
Michael Henk: Cool building and interesting history. It wasn't open, but we walked around the grounds.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure Price for adult entry Free …More
Lex Talionis: Wonderful little museum and event space. The buikding is beautifully restored and their furnishings, while not original, are very representative of the period. Touring the hospital wing was a bit spooky.
Denise Cramer: Very cool, wish I could've seen inside.

Kristine Acevedo: It was a great building. Absolutely beautiful. As well as the christmas event we were there attending was decorated beautifully, all the ppl were very kind and helpful as well.

Niki Perkins: A hidden gem in Flint, MI!We attended an open house for a friend's business and discovered a beautiful historic home that is open for tours. It was originally a private home. This is also the site of the first Sisters of St. Joseph Hospital, now Genesys. They rent business space, neat place for a small business office.
Brian Sparks: I got two tours of this house. It only costs $10 each tour. I'm so happy they restored this civil war house! I saw the house from top bottom. If you ask, they will take you to the roof-top where the view is priceless!
Melissa Lance: 2nd Friday of the month 7pm meditation...give it a try!
Mellissa Burrows: Great place with great people
Janna Vozar: Interesting old property and house from Civil War era that's being restored. Check in for events!
Joseph Schipani: One of Flints most haunted places
Dave Johnson: Preservation of Colonel Stockton's home and you can see the evolution of the early st. Joseph Hospital in Flint Public Library in one building, a very important structure I'm glad it was saved.
William Gainey: Awesome Civil War museum in Colonel Stockton's 1872 mansion!
Patti Perkins: Museum, few open hours. Office space available.
