Armored Saint Metal Church of Christ: ZERO STARS! I took my frames in to be tightened and they cracked my lens. Being blind and not knowing this could occur, I, at first, thought it was a fingerprint or smudge. It wasn't until I got home and tried to clean them when I discovered the damage, but that was too late according to this place. I called them and spoke to a receptionist who told me the manager wouldn't be in until noon. I received a call sometime after 1 p.m. buy said receptionist, not the manager! She explained they were not liable because I left the building without pointing out the damage. According to them, who's to say I didn't damage the lens myself? Fair enough! But, you knew I was there and you made no attempt to reconcile or make things better. No percentage off a new lens! Not even an offer of a percentage off an eye exam! They took zero responsibility and I was left with non-functioning glasses until I was able to afford another pair. Steer clear of this place!

Brittney Hope: Do not go here. I really like Walmart's vision centers. Normally the service is quicker, cheaper and the same quality as a doctor's office. This location is awful. My first appointment back in NOVEMBER was great. I was seen quickly, the exam seemed thorough, everyone was friendly, etc. I have had to go back five times now to try and get the right contacts. The second visit was a simple pick-up, quick and easy. The third was a follow-up because I wasn't able to see well at night. I waited over an hour and a half, saw the doctor for exactly 6 minutes, and waited another 15 minutes to be told my contacts had to be ordered. I waited a week and a half and got a call to pick them up. I picked them up and realize they were THE SAME CONTACTS! So, I called after two weeks when I figured out they were just the same prescription and I got told that I have had another pair waiting. I never got called and told I had another pair there. I was never told when I picked them up that I had another pair waiting for me. It's been two months, five trips, and I'm still left squinting.

Rebecca Sherman: My daughter ordered glasses four weeks ago and has still not received them. They keep telling her they’ll be here by the end of the week. Of course Covid was the excuse as to why they are taking so long. If that’s the case, then up front she should have been told they are taking longer. She asked for a refund so she could go somewhere else and they told her they aren’t able to refund money since they’ve already been ordered. She paid for these glasses out of pocket. Over $400. The only way to rectify this situation is to refund her so she can go somewhere else. We will never recommend this place to anyone and we will never go back!

Donisha Humphrey: If i could provide less then one star i would. Customer service is not great at all. Me and my family never had a pleasant experience here from the front desk to ordering glasses! MY daughter whom is a teen had a bad experience and does not want to return to this office! My situation is much more detailed but i will leave it here!

Paula Herbert: I have gone here for 20 years. My last visit I spent $181 out of pocket for my glasses. Was told by Dr. That when I pick my glasses up he wanted to examine my eyes again because i had told hi. At the end of my visit that i had had shingles in my eye. Assuming this would be included as my examine.Within 3 weeks the frame broke I returned to store to be told.i needed to pay $41 for a new frame even though it appeared a defect. I needed my glasses so I paid. 2 weeks later same thing frame broke in same place.I returned to store to demand a new frame they proceeded to tell me I have a balance of $135. I said excuse me, they said that extra exam was $135 and they would not fix my frame till I pay balance. So, I'm $222 out of pocket for 2 pair of broken frames since January.I told them I'd take my business elsewhere. People be aware!!
Keri Florida: Very unhappy with my latest experiences here. Staff lack communications skills, which lead to frustrations of their customers, are extremely rude and have poor work ethic. Over the course of a few weeks, I have been given the incorrect prescription strength of trial contacts, ordered contacts but then later called that they cancelled the order because they want me to try another trial of correct prescriptions contacts of which there were only 5 days worth. I called the office after two weeks because I had not received a call about my contacts. The receptionist told me that they were in an available for pick up. I show up today when they open after lunch and the door is locked and their voicemail states that they are closed . After waiting 5 minutes, they finally came and unlocked the door. They tried refusing to give me the contacts that I already paid for because 1 of the 8 boxes that I ordered (1 years worth and over $800 of product) had not come in yet. When I had asked what I am supposed to do as this was my last pair of daily contacts the manager states "do you have glasses". If your policy is that you won't release contacts until the entire shipment is received, I should have been notified during the ordering process. When my contacts were on backorder, I should have been called and notified. Your entire staff including your manager were extremely rude. I have never been treated so poorly as a paying customer in my entire life. At no point during this process have I even received a "I'm sorry".
Aubrey Porter: I spent over 500 on a pair of glasses that were never right, I did a remake and they were worse than the the original pair. After two months my frame popped away from the frame and I was told that they were just broke, no replacement involved at all. This is for the store on Martin Luther king where the majority of the people that shop there are people of color and it just seems to be a we will just take your money and see you next time. I would strongly consider shopping somewhere else if you can . If people of color would realize they're buying power, it would not continue to be there because the other people aren't coming anywhere mlk to get anything done .

If it was my place of business I would have made sure the client received more than one call and letter to get items, do they really understand how important sight is? I understand though it's only their job the customer doesn't matter. BTW I failed to mention I received neither the phone call/letter they said they sent( just in case of confusion) and didn't get my glasses until weeks and weeks later, when I was definitely in need. I'm blind as a bat.

I tried but the new glasses gave me a headache. I made an appointment to get things corrected and they wanted all the billing info AGAIN! They said they need that info. The person got rather upset and rude when I said no billing for this. I asked for a refund, they said NO, it was too long...after they wasted time with excuses. Suzanne Sugden: We just have a very disappointing experience with General Optical in Burton. My Mom has been going there for well over 20 years. She needed new lenses for her sunglasses and has a prescription from her ophthalmologist. She decided to get the lenses at General Optical because she has been a client for so long. My Mom is 86, has Parkinson's with some mental confusion. I was not allowed to go in with her for the original appointment. I understand COVID restrictions. The man she worked with had her sign something that she was very confused about. He did not make sure she really understood and did not talk to me. I was waiting in the parking lot. She got her lenses and they are unusable. We were told we had to go back in the office. She came out upset and did not understand, they man just kept speaking quickly and said she signed something. I think the lenses were not made correctly, but I am not sure. We will go back to the original Dr. and recheck the prescription. She paid $200 for something that is completely unusable. She was not treated with respect. I told the office of my concerns about her understanding ability every time I have called. After decades of being a loyal customer we will end our business dealings with the company. So disappointing.

Ian Weidner: Apparently ordered the wrong contacts. They tried to give me these contacts and were shocked when I told them the prescription was wrong. They went to check and discovered it was indeed wrong.Most people don't know their exact prescription and wrongly sized contacts can hurts eyes. Looking through these reviews it turns out this isn't the first time they have done this and I wish I had read them before going there.

Alaina Campbell: I recently purchased 2 pairs of glasses from Riverfront and the service was excellent! The staff helped me find frames that fit my style and face shape. Sam did an excellent job explaining how progressive lenses work and the choices available so I could choose what would work best for me. Depending on the type of lenses you need, you could even possibly get them the same day. I highly recommend them!

Rosie Ellison: Thev entire staff was amazing, from start to finish.this is first time i actually loved going to get eye exam and glasses🤣🤣🤣
Jenna L: Although I didn’t go to this center recently due to insurance. They have always been good in the past. Today I came in, to see if there was a way to make my new glasses (from elsewhere) stop slipping down my nose. Without question a woman working in the area said she could fix that and took my glasses back(after putting on new gloves) and warmed them up and tightened them for me. They are very friendly there always!
